Striping tape!!!!! I bought this like two years ago and I still have a ton of it left. It's much easier to use than normal Scotch tape or something. Or striping brushes.
edit: you also have to leave PLENTY of time for the nails to dry before you apply the tape. A fast-dry topcoat or drying drops will help. And make sure you pull off the tape right after you do the second color! If you let it dry too much, it will come off with the tape. And wait a little bit before you put topcoat over that, so the lines don't smudge.
Seche Vite top coat works wonders and drys insanely fast. I think it’s cheaper on amazon than at beauty supply stores. seche vite
Seche Vite, girl. Seche Vite.
First things first: Buy this shit!
Your cuticles are wayyyy more important than you might realize. Do not cut them, don't bite them, don't pick at them. Push them back and trim off the dead bits that are stuck to your nail with one of these things. KEEP THEM HYDRATED. Use lotion, cuticle oil, whatever, just don't let them dry out. I use Lemony Flutter by Lush. It's pricey - worth it for me because I paint my nails twice a week and use a lot of acetone... Buff with one of those blocks. Invest in a decent crystal nail file. Whatever nail file you use, always file repeatedly in one direction. Never saw back and forth! I never use nail clippers because I find they encourage splitting, I only file. Apply the Nail Envy. I promise you'll see MAJOR improvement in a couple of weeks. Also, take a Biotin supplement!
Edit: My links disappeared. Merp. Hang on. I'm getting them for you again!
As a single dad several years ago I invested in these for my daughter. We loved doing her nails with different designs. Now at 20 she still has me doing her nails.

Sounds like you need Seche Vite. Completely dry in 5 minutes :)
http://www.amazon.com/30Pcs-Colors-Striping-Decoration-Sticker/dp/B00A76CPUA
I guess I'll tell you, since someone else just rudely downvoted you instead of taking 30 seconds to answer your question. That's striping tape.
OP, they look great! So many brides just play it safe and go with a French manicure, but this is so much more interesting.
I don't know if this is helpful, but here is where I got my Seche. I don't remember it being quite that cheap when I ordered, haha. But even with the shipping now, it's less than $5.
EDIT: Now it's $4.74 with free shipping...get on it! :)
89¢ + free shipping
yeah, I ordered mine from amazon for 93 cents. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0069FDR96/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use OPI Nail Envy! It's kind of expensive but I think it's worth it. Amazon.
Happy Birthday! :) Hope it was great, and thanks for this gauntlet!
Seche Vite top coats were recently removed out of the CVS I live closest to :/ $4.84 :)
And for the song, if you like Kpop, Apink just released a new song: [Nonono.] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3XJQtJWKJM) It's super cute!
Not sure if you're serious or not, but you can find it on Amazon.
Konad Nail Art Double Ended Stamper And Scraper https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002MZ8BK2/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_wPSKwb1XHHXBX
/u/purebredginger Because it's her birthdaaaaay! Gifting them this because it's a higher priority item and once you paint your nails you want them shiny and protected!
There is a bunch of stuff that can be donated! But here are some highlights:
Essie Cute as a Button is exactly $6.25!!
Who doesn't need a good purple?
Sparkles!!
Such a pretty blue!!
Kleancolor mini metallic
Brushes!
And I feel obligated to leave something from MINE hehe :)
Seche Vite! $4.85!!
I always feel really polished if my nails are done. I don't have the time or the money to go to a salon to have them done, or to constantly do touch ups, so this is my routine, that I will do Sunday night, and it lasts me with no chips through Friday for sure:
I occasionally skip the second coat of Gelous and it still seems to turn out fine. The seche vite top coat is honestly super fast drying and it leaves the most amazing shine on my nails, which just puts them over the top. People always comment on how great my nails look.
One last tip for helping your manicure last: wear gloves when washing dishes or handling cleaners. This really helps my nails not chip!
Other things that make me feel put together: a pair of stud earrings, a blazer, COFFEE.
A dotting tool looks like a pencil with metal balls on the ends. You can buy dotting tool sets with varying tip sizes for different sized dots. I've never heard of a bad quality dotting tool, so brand is not important here.
She might be interested in a stamping kit, or if she already has one, more plates. Konad is the brand of choice, but their plates are expensive. Bundle Monster plates are more affordable, although their edges tend to be sharp. Check out wowsocool for Konad plates. If you do get her a stamping set, get the Konad Special Polish in black and white, at least. Not all polishes work with stamping, so it's hit and miss, but the Konad polishes are designed to work with stamping.
Finally, she might appreciate some special effects nail polishes, like magnetic nail polish. That is all the rage right now. Essie also has a new glitter polish range out (called Luxeffects), she might like a couple of those. If you're in the US, you can check out the nail polish collections at Sephora, they do little gift sets with a variety of polishes that are quite nice.
Hope she likes what you get her!
*Edited to add: Oh oh oh, Sally Hansen Salon Effects! Haha, I just thought about what I would like to get and I really love those strips. They're real nail polish strips that you stick onto your nails. They come in really cool designs. Love them. There is a limited edition Holiday collection out now with some lovely designs.
here ya go!

A nail stamper(link) / stamping plate(link) is something I think a lot of people even who love their nails might not have. And the plates are all different so even if they have a few already I'm sure there will be other designs on the plate they don't have. Basically they can stamp cute designs on their nails with their polishes they already have.
I love my nails, and I just finally broke down and got one recently.
I agree with /u/pomegranated. The nail product that has been really successful for me is using OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener. Ny nails still split, but less so, and they're so much stronger after using the product for the past three months.
I use the Bundle Monster plates instead. On Amazon, they run only $17.99. You'll also want to get a stamper. Some people like to have the plate holder as well, but I never bought it and I don't have any sort of difficulties.
You'll also definitely want to get some of the special konad polish. The most important one is the white polish. None of the white polishes I've owned are nearly opaque enough. Any thick black polish should work fine for stamping, as well as any strongly opaque color.
They are not too tricky to use, although it does take a bit of practice.
It's a Shany stamp set :)
Here ya go.
My boyfriend bought me two of these I have decent counter space in the bathroom so that's where they are.
action shot! he only bought me one at first. He realized he had made a huge mistake when he tried to fit them all.
Unfortunately I've again run out of space..I think I'm going to invest in a wall hanging rack next. And then no more polish, I swear! ;)
Honestly, even though it's not designed for it, use makeup organizers. I use these two things mostly: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I53EGGS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage
and two of these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004W8XLAM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage
My paint area is pretty organized with these, plus a few little other miscellaneous things.
Thanks! They were actually pretty easy (if you already know how to stamp), the woodgrain design is a stamp from the Winstonia set.
I kind of suck at stamping so it was a little bit of a challenge for me hahah; I had to redo a few nails.
Dotting tools, tape, and brushes are cheap on Amazon. Here is dotting tools and brushes together. And some tape. Here are some tip guides
For straight lines I'll use tape. Other wise I draw them with thin brushes. For the chevron look I'll use those tip guides.
I know there are better items out there, but these are what I use.
1: I had a little girl around 5 at my daycare named Lily who was just smart as a whip, and for some reason she just loved me. Since she was another workers child she would always be there early, so we would color together or play with playdough while we waited for others to arrive, and I imagine that had something to do with it.
Anyway, she was friends with my niece, and ended up coming to her birthday party at a nature park. One of the activities was a scavenger hunt when the children were supposed to pick an adult and go for a walk in the woods to collect various naturey things. When it came time to pick she immediately calls out "I pick miss Michelle!" and her mother just gives her just the saddest look. Lilly looks at her mother and says in an incredibly grown up and calming tone "Now just because I didn't pick you doesn't mean I don't love you, I just don't get to see miss Michelle as much." her mother nods, seemingly placated, and we totally nail the scavenger hunt ;)
2: Zoya Godiva is so demure and elegant, but still has some nice sparkle to it, so it is never boring. I also really love the Zoya Intimate collection, especially Jules and Dove.
3: I've never had to dress business casual before, but one thing I do know is the air conditioning will probably be up way too high most of the year, so cardigans are probably a good bet!
4: Mod lacquer Satire, I'm addicted to corals and jellies. For a non indie I've been lusting after Sparking Garbage for months now.
Good luck on and congratulations on your new job!
Well, I'm quite new to this but I'll try :)
First off, are you sure your wife would like nail art? There may be a reason she doesn't use her nail polish?
Well, unfortunately there aren't many stores that sell stamping supplies. The best place for a lot of nail art stuff is Amazon.
If she's impatient/ always likes to be using her hands a fast dry top coat might be a good idea for her. Good ones are Seche Vite and Out the Door :)
Konad is the best brand to do with stamping about (as far as I know). Their stamper is the one to get. As for image plates- Konad ones are good but expensive. I would suggest getting a Cheeky or Bundle Monster pack. You can get so many different patterns I would suggest getting something like this or this, which has a variety of full nail images, individual stamps and french tip stamps. Also, if you do buy image plates etc. then I would suggest buying proper stamping polish, at least for black and white. Metallics work well for stamping too.
For nail art brushes, you can get them online but all of mine are actually acrylic art brushes. They tend to last well and you can buy them in store. Acrylic paints are really good for doing complex designs, over the top of a layer of normal nail polish. They're easier to mix, don't dry as fast and are cheaper than nail polish (if your wife would want to do art on her nails).
You can get dotting tools too, if you think those would be good?
I will say that some things are sold on Amazon from China, so the shipping times are quite large. They may not get to you in less than a month (depending on where you live).
Sorry if all of that was confusing or no help at all!
I didn't know where to go in person to get them, so I bought my supplies online from Amazon! I got this stamper and this set of plates and went to YouTube for lessons :)
I found a nice big pack on eBay.
But if you don't feel safe buying on eBay, here's a link to a listing on Amazon.
:D
Ohmygosh, I think you might be talking about my nails!
I really like the glitter base you chose, as well as taking the extra time to make the hearts 3D (darker polish color for shadow + outlining them in black + white accents). The lettering could use a little work, but practice makes perfect! I'd recommend investing in some smaller detail brushes like these because they will make it A LOT easier. But seriously, your nails look amazing! It's especially impressive you did both hands. Great job!
Super Big Hugs
I see a ton of "I'm not entering", so I'm going to enter. :)

Just start painting your nails and you will figure out what works best for you eventually. I've compiled a list of helpful links/videos that I've found helpful for me.

Looks like this.
You can use regular household Scotch tape, or if you want thin lines like you have here you can use striping tape. I get mine from Amazon.
This is where I got mine. You can't beat the price, especially with free shipping!
Here are my items!
Brush guards, a makeup bag, and seche vite!
Seche Vite is fantastic.
Hello!
Amazon! $7.69 with shipping.
One of my friends is a nail fiend and swears by Seche Restore. I haven't used it personally so I can't speak for the results, but it's saved a few of her polishes.
Oh! I've been drooling over that color forever. Good choice! ;) Are you a big red fan?
If you have patience, Amazon is seriously a steal for building an arsenal! And if the answer to the patience question is yes... may I suggest...
That's what I've got for now... Hmm.. What did I miss?
Oh yes, ma'am! It is a gift from the gods. This one is my favorite. I also like the Sally Hansen one, but as I got towards the bottom of the bottle it started to get slightly goopy.
I can relate to both of these, but I'm the opposite! I quit biting my nails last summer after ~20 years, but I drink a Coke a day at work and that needs to stop.
For the nail thing, what finally did it for me was learning to paint them myself (shoutout to /r/redditlaqueristas) and making every Tuesday manicure night. I don't bite them if they're painted, especially with one of those magical quick-dry topcoats that's like a thick, shiny layer of shellac.
Seche Vite is on sale right now for 3.99 a bottle with free shipping :)
Here is a link to it.
Okay, I'm gonna go a different direction than most comments already. I started with Out the Door but it smears any artwork for me. I switched to Seche Vite and haven't looked back. Seche Vite is 4 dollars right now on Amazon. (Cheap! CHEAP!) I have a mani on right now that has lasted 5 days and counting. It's magic. It dries within minutes. If you get her that one, make sure she does a little research on how to best apply it; there's a trick to getting it to set right.
Second, You don't have to leave Walmart or the drugstore to get decent polish. Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy is rocking my socks right now, and it's 5$ a bottle at Target here in California. Its a thick polish, and the color is incredibly deep after 2 thinly painted coats. I would also suggest going to a Kohl's/Marshalls/TJ Maxx and looking in the beauty section; they always have a few buckets of high quality nail polish for a few bucks a pop. (OPI, saw some Butter's in there a few weeks ago, etc.)
Okay so there's lots of places you can get things, but with some of amazon you might not get things in time so keep your eyes peeled, I'm linking random ones for you. It'd be easier to build your own basket instead of trying to find one. What I would suggest is:
-dotting tools like this
-brushes for art/cleanup like this
-clear stamper/scraper like this
-some stamping plates like this
-liquid latex (so her fingers don't get messy when doing different nail art styles) like this
-makeup sponges (those triangles, for gradients) like this
-striping tape like this
-good base coat (people really like nail envy by OPI and ORLY bonder) OPI ORLY
-good top coat (Seche vite is great) like this
I didn't pay much attention to the prices but a lot of those tools can be purchased fairly cheap, the most expensive things are the polishes and some stamping plates (some are very cheap and can be not so good, some are more expensive but are more likely to work well)
If you need more help let me know!
seche vite seriously. Put it on while the second coat of polish is still wet and dries in like 15 seconds. More expensive then some but so worth it!
Kurt Vonnegut. Everything he's written is so so good. I started with "Slaughterhouse Five" which is phenomenal, and read a lot of his other novels, but his short stories are my favorite. Namely the collection in "A Man Without A Country." I love his ability to criticize society and government through example rather than direct rant. I also like his use of sci-fi to make connections to the bigger picture of his ideas and arguments. His style is straightforward, but he's able to set the scene perfectly without you being like "come on, I don't care what color the curtains are, get on with it" which I find in so many other books. He gets to the point, but you enjoy the ride there. The way he pulls in humor and gets you to think critically about life is unmatched to this day, in my opinion. Whomever owns the rights to his stuff recently released (posthumously) a collection of letters he wrote and they are just brilliant.
So my favorite author is Kurt Vonnegut and my favorite book is "A Man Without A Country"
Other favorite authors are Sloane Crosley (hilarious!), Oscar Wilde (withstands the test of time beautifully), Veronica Roth (I'm reading the Divergent series right now and loving it), Jenny Lawson (also hilarious!), David Sedaris (so funny and charming), and Jim Derogatis (one of my favorite music journalists/writers).
Here's my item
Neil!
Mix of this: Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Nail Coat, Clear - .5 oz. oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00150LT40/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_SkY8Ab00RNCKY

XICHEN 24 Colors Nail Art Make Up Glitter Shimmer Dust Powder Decoration https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N9NV6EJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_BlY8Ab2N3E1M8
That's the combo from the looks of it at least. Natural nail color with a gloss shine and nail glitter 😉. Hope to see a post down the road with the results if you and your gf were open to it
Ahhh! Stupid fingernails. One thing I’d recommend is biotin supplements and this awesome top coat nail strengthener polish
OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener, Original, 0.5 fl. oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00178TVXG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_qaZJAbE4Q03QX
They work well but still wasn’t enough for me. The sns was the only way to have nails again 😸
I’m glad to know I’m not alone. I’ve always sorta felt like the 1 year mark is when most people go from androgynous to feminine in all the timelines I’ve seen. So I’ll keep our fingers crossed that the next year treats us better than the first 💕
I swear by OPI Nail Envy. I have both the clear that you can use with a regular color or the colored (light pink version).
A lot of people on here swear by OPI's Nail Envy. It's supposed to harden the nail, and maybe once it hardens it will start to grow. It's here on Amazon and it's only $8.50.
But the pampering part is the easiest and most important! Maybe the massage isn't, but the nail treatments are key!
Learn to file nails properly:
Always file in the same direction!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RrfWakB-lI
Learn good cuticle care:
Use cuticle remover once in a while for a good clean up, but don't use it daily. NEVER cut the cuticles. Use cuticle remover and a PLASTIC tool to scrape nails (depending on the nail strength, metal scrapers can damage the nail) I use a makeup sponge to rub backwards from my nail after cleaning up my cuticles. To maintain, push your cuticles back frequently. I do this in the shower after the water has softened my skin a bit.

Use a good nail treatment polish as a base coat:
Most lacqueristas will swear by OPI Nail Envy.

Get some good hand and nail lotion:
This is where you can pamper her with a nice hand massage, if you're willing to go the extra mile.

Her nails will be looking so fabulous before you even hit them with the color!
I haven't tried it myself, but a lot of people over at /r/RedditLaqueristas like OPI Nail Envy.
Fingerstyle guitar player here. My nails are important and they can split. This will take care of you.. https://smile.amazon.com/OPI-Nail-Envy-Strengthener-Original/dp/B00178TVXG/ref=lp_15284207011_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1520527801&sr=1-1&th=1
It was something like this on amazon.
I got all of mine on Amazon. Below are the first things I bought. I'm pretty new too, but I'm building a nice collection. Not many of the nail items on Amazon are Prime eligible, but if you can find them, I would compare the non-Prime+shipping vs. the Prime one.

This is what I bought a few months back when I bought my stamper. Some people may tell you that you need the special nail polish but I've always used Sally Hansen's black nail polish and found that it works just fine with my stamper and shows up perfectly. As for plates, one of my personal favorites that I find myself using over and over again the one with zebra, leopard, cross criss criss, and two little tip designs. If you think that you'll be using your stamper a decent amount, then I suggest you get the bundle monster. The plates from the Konad are a little too expensive for my taste, so I usually just resort to getting new plates from Amazon.
Sorry babes :/
I don't have any thing for stamping so [This would be fantastic] (http://www.amazon.com/Nail-Art-Double-Stamper-Scraper/dp/B002MZ8BK2/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1393874862&sr=8-8&keywords=nail+stamping+plates)
You know that everyone on here is here for you and if you need to just focus on something else I highly recommend Top Gear, one of their special episodes where they go to another country (seriously its hilarious and I don't even like cars)
It'll be okay sweety.
Nail stuff is pretty broad but I'll see if I can help!
Dotting tools, striping tapes, rhinestones, and nail art brushes are great for her age bracket (and they have the added bonus of being super cheap!!)!
For a higher level of difficulty check out nail stampers with "plates". Here is a tutorial to show what those actually do, tutorial.
You know your kid better than I do, but at her age I would have loved a dedicated space for my "beauty supplies". Would a desk with a nail station be a welcome gift? If you live near an IKEA, get something like this and these for polish storage, each box fits 50 polishes easy! I would also get a desk lamp and some mason jars or whatever to hold the tools that are too big for the box. Maybe even a vanity mirror for when makeup becomes a thing. To keep the desktop clean and easily manageable I would get some cheap plastic place mats from the dollar tree.
Polish-wise, Sinful Colors is a cheap brand of polish found in most drug stores, usually around $2 a bottle, but the colors are nice and go on well (I own about 20 of them and use them often). For a person her age I probably wouldn't get too many of the more expensive brands like Essie on up, just because preferences are fleeting at that age. Eventually, you could dive into the deep scary world of independent polish makers (where all the pretty colors are!!)
$0-5 Nail Stamper I have seen a lot of wishlists here with polish/nail at supplies, and I think that stamping would be fun for a lot of people!
$5-10 Fun glitter polish A set of 6 for less than ten bucks!
$10-20 Acrylic Paint! Because being artsy is always fun!
20-50 China Glaze Summer Neons 2012 because nail art
This is the first stamping kit I ordered:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002MZ8BK2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's worked fine for me so far, though I have heard people say that it's not as good for very long or very rounded nails. I also have this set of stamping plates and I am happy with the variety, but I'm not sure how "cheap" they are compared to other sets of plates:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CDGR29G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Cheapest
Any plans today?
edit: 15 and thanks!
Happy cake day!
I got this fruity polish in a pedicure a while ago and it's been in the back of my mind ever since. Here's another fruity China Glaze polish, and to round out a trio of fruit themed polishes, here's one more that looks gorgeous.
Here you are.
The BM stamping plates are pretty cheap, actually. The original set is $18 on Amazon, so compared to Konad, it's a pretty good deal.
Tell everyone that's what you want for a birthday or something. That's what I did. XD
Happy Half birthday! Flash This
Thanks!
It's a part of this set, I have the same set.
nail stamper plates <3 $14.74
Just buy a shelf.
I use this on top of a book case for mine: http://i.imgur.com/A5VFaTu.jpg
The smaller rack to the right holds 24 of the small vials, and the larger rack has 5 shelves, able to hold god knows how many bottles. I haven't tried to fill it up yet.
Not only is it organized, but I can locate whatever I need with ease...

Oh, I may have to go get one of those! The one thing I have seen is a nail polish rack on Amazon which I am currently thinking about getting!
A bunch of these!

A pretty decent brush kit is definitely necessary to do a lot of art. I have this one and I really like it. You will also need some dotting tools that will help you create perfect dots. Some striping tape is really handy too. You might also want a stamping kit. Konad has a great one and you can buy it on Amazon.
Have fun!
Nail stuff
Makeup bag
Happy first contest
this nail striping tape is the cheapest thing I have. I want this because I love doing my nails. this gift card is also helpful because I am saving to buy a nintendo 3ds for my sons birthday

Thank you! :)
I actually use some nail art brushes that I got from Amazon for like $3 for almost all of my detail designs. I'd totally recommend them if you're getting into more detail manis :)
Edit: here are the two sets I have...1 & 2...and they're crazy cheap right now! :)
China Glaze I'm Not Lion is one of the first polishes on my wishlist, and I'm not Lyin' we both NEED I'm Not Lion cause it's so stinking pretty! I may be cheaper from NPC, not sure :D
Happy Tuesday!

Thanks! It's W111 from the Winstonia set. :)
I use the tip guides you can buy like at Sallys or on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DHQCJTO/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1421835312&sr=8-1&dpPl=1&dpID=41TTCzdtCAL&ref=plSrch&pi=AC_SY200_QL40

Hi! Do you need these ?
Hi, Ilovethedaisypup!
I exfoliate once a week or so with an apricot scrub, and usually remove my makeup using baby wipes, though I also love cleansing oil. I moisturize every day, and use this cream from the face shop. It's amazing. I'd really like to try using striping tape the only issue is, none of it ships to Canada, so you'd have to send it to yourself, then to me. Luckily, I don't mind waiting, and shipping is cheap!
Seche Vite
Striping Tape
Nail Dotting Tools
Sorry they're all for nails!
I'm in Canada and I've only ever found it at Sally's for $6-$12 for a single roll. So I went on Amazon and got 30 rolls of the same stuff for $2!

Striping Tape!
OMGCATS, Enjoy your birthday. Hope you get everything you deserve.
If you are willing to wait for it, Amazon sells striping tape incredibly cheaply, though since it often ships from China it may take some time to arrive.

This nail polish because fall is coming and this color looks beautiful!

This is a great idea--thanks for hosting!
This top coat? $5 doesn't seem pricey or am I looking at the wrong thing?
http://www.amazon.com/Seche-Vite-Fast-Nail-Ounce/dp/B00150LT40
Hi and welcome! I suck at makeup... mostly just powder my nose and maybe wear some eyeshadow/mascara. I'm good at nail polish though!
First, get yourself a good base coat and a good top coat. I recommend Orly Bonder and Out the Door. Most people here will recommend Seche Vite which is awesome, but may be hard to use until you learn how to wrap your nail tips.
I counted 34 in this picture.
(But lets be honest, the mini bottles shouldn't count as a whole bottle.)
Wishlist item!
I know it's a bit under $5 but the Essie topcoat I have really really sucks. I can re-pick if you need me to.
Linky !
Thanks for the contest and Happy you're alive, Tara! Even though I didn't know you from before. SO HI ! c:
Retail Therapy! Did you not have enough flair? Maybe you should get some flair. I think you are going to get the fast-drying top coat... man I have no idea. You can surprise me with a gift, or I would like this. I guess I have top coats on the brain....

If you can't find Seche Vite top coat and you arent able to order it online ( Amazon link), check if your local Rite aid or walgreens carries Essie "Good to go" top coat. It dries quickly and works well against chips, for the most part. Welcome to the sub!

My favorite purple is Performance Colors Badlands, another user posted some swatches here
Sorry that today isn't fantastic, but thank you for hosting a lovely contest <3
I just recently received a lovely dark purple lipstick from u/dm2r! It's Wet n Wild's Vamp it Up! It looks very similar to Mac's Cyber lipstick, as seen by swatches here. It applies really nicely, too! :)
Link to my under $5!
Do you have a Pinterest Board/Spreadsheet of Polishes you own? Link? Alas I do not, but I do have a photo. Back row is Revlon/Sally Hansen, 2nd back are China Glaze, 2nd from front is Ulta3 (Aussie cheapie brand, not the same as Ulta) and Sinful Colors, and front row is OPI, Essie, and misc indies.
Can your SS include gently used polishes/items? For sure!!
What types of items would you enjoy receiving other than polish? I really have no serious preference. I love to be surprised :D I love cat stuff (love my cat, Claus), I'm currently obsessing over the SF Giants (baseballllllllllll!!!!), My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (GO PINKIE PIE)... and just stuff, honestly. I'm not a fussy person and will love and adore anything I'm sent.
Food Allergies: None, but I do not do well with spicy foods so please avoid anything even a lil bit burny.
Favorite Candy/Snacks: I adore sour stuff like warheads, umeboshi... etc... Roll'd Gold pretzels.
Favorite Type of Cookie: Choc chip. Can't go wrong with a classic!
Favorite Scent: So... Sinful. That stuff is amazing, it smells like cake!
Five Desired Polishes/Polish Related Items: Zoya - Zuza, Julep - Monica, Orly Bonder, Seche Vite, BlackSheep Lacquer - Farore.
Favorite Polish Brand: At the moment, China Glaze. I've never tried Butter, Zoya, or Julep >.<
Favorite Color: Pretty? I seem to have a lot of bluey greens so I guess they would be!
Do you have any Hobbies? Gaming :D Annoying my cat, working on my quilt... This is the centre block, all sewn by hand, no machine work... Listening to music... stuff........
Do you Collect Anything? I collect Pinkie Pies (but only the current gen because the older ones are creepy now), I collect the Vinyl Pop figures (I have Fionna and Marceline from Adventure Time and Pinkie Pie), and I collect teas (do NOT like russian caravan style teas)
Favorite animal: Wolf. And then, cat. This is mah tattoo.
What is your lemming (Most wanted polish) I don't think I have one currently to be honest. Probably a popular brand or indie that I haven't tried?
What person (dead/alive) you would like to meet? Richard Branson. Easy. I have his autobiographies and they are AMAZING.
Favorite Music Artist/Type: The Living End. I listen to anything except for a lot of screamy music, country, or rap. There are artists in all those genres that I enjoy but just not a massive fan as a whole.
Favorite Stores to shop at: Kikki K. Oh em gee I adore Kikki K. Also love places like JB HiFi (Aussie version of Best Buy).
Favorite Sports Team/Athlete: SF GIANTS!!!!
One Place You Would Like to Visit: Himeji Castle in Japan :)
Favorite Magazines You Do Not Subscribe To: I have no idea :S I'm not a magazine kinda gal really.
Favorite TV Show: This is a stupidly tough question. I lurrrrrve Detective Conan (Japanese version because the dub was HORRIBLE), Hannibal, Better Off Ted, Orphan Black, Tattoo Rescue, The Amazing World of Gumball, RuPaul's Drag Race (still watching the last season, DO NOT SPOILER)... other shows... I'm not a fan of too many American comedies tbh.
Anything else your SS should know about you: I'd be grateful for a fart in a box (please don't) :D I'm so excited to be a part of this event so I will love whatever you send!!!
Nice work! They look pretty and healthy! This is how I stopped biting mine as well.
If you haven't done so already get yourself a bottle of Seche Vite top coat and some vitamin D.
I used to bite my nails because they were ragged and peeling. I found using nail strengthener to work wonders.
This is a good guide! I find that leaving a small gap between my polish and my cuticle area looks much better than accidentally getting polish all over my cuticles from trying to paint too closely.
Also, if you do get any polish on your skin, you can immediately take a nail brush dipped in acetone and clean up the polish. It's easier while it's still wet in my opinion. (Though, when you're completely done painting, you can also go back and touch up anything you've missed!)
A quick drying top coat is also a must! Seche Vite makes a good one, as well as Superchic Lacquer. EDIT: These particular top coats are formulated to go over nail polish that is still wet, so it's a big plus that you don't have to wait for your color to dry before adding your top coat. As soon as you finish painting color on your last nail, you can go back to your first nail and start applying top coat until you get to your last nail again (if that makes sense).
Lastly, practice practice practice! :)
Put on Netflix or Hulu and relax and have fun with it! Good luck!
I recently discovered Seche Vite thanks to this subreddit its about $5 from amazon and is the most incredible fast drying top coat that doesn't really shrink, dries instantly and lasts days even on my lower quality nail polishes. Here's a link
Seche Vite, you can get it cheaper online, otherwise it is $10/bottle at Walmart/drugstore.
BUT, it is SO SO SO worth it. Whereas without top coat, your nails take like an hour to fully dry, Seche Vite has them completely rock hard in like 15 minutes. It's a game changer, and people ask me if I'm wearing gels because it keeps them really shiny.
Silent Hill
Thanks so much!!
$4.85 - thanks for the contest!
I could really use some Chocolate right now...
I think most rapid dry top coats are intended to be used while the polish is tacky, while I know some other no-chip/shine type top coats are meant to be used when the polish is completely dry.
Seche Vite and Out the Door are good rapid dry options. If you can't find these, then the Sally Hansen Insta Dri is pretty good too.

My view is new. We just moved two weeks ago. That's a big reason I've been mia-preparing to move and what not.
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Nail Coat, 0.5 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00150LT40/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_FPaYub0WETF2A
I actually love giving manicures to friends and family. My mom once brought me to her patient's house to paint the nails of 3 little girls. Cutest thing ever!
As for tips, some of it is really product quality/chemistry. I recommend two specific products: Orly Bonder as a base coat and Seche Vite as a topcoat.
The base coat prevents your nails from staining, and this one is rubberized (it feels sticky if you touch it), so polish adheres really well. This top coat dries your nails in about 60 seconds. I am an idiot and always have to pee right after I finish my nails. I can actually do that with SV. This combo has been able to make almost every nail polish I use last as long as I want it to last (for me, up to 7 days, but usually closer to 4).
To prevent chipping, it's important to use as few thin layers as possible. Thicker polish chips easier. The best polishes are ones that are heavily pigmented, but thin. I could probably suggest several based on your favorite colors. But my favorite brand is probably China Glaze. Oh! Also to prevent chipping and peeling, don't flood the cuticles. I leave a small amount of space as a border on my nail. You can see it pretty well here, especially on the thumb. I do this either by being sparing with my application or taking a paintbrush dipped in acetone and cleaning up the edges when I'm finished. It thins out the sides, making the polish less able to peel up from the edges.
My Holiday Costume: A Unitard!
I can't wait to see/read about others' costumes! Thanks for hosting: spooky scary :)
My $10 Wishlist: Seche Vite , Dotting Tools .
Does this seem reliable?
https://www.amazon.com/Seche-Vite-Fast-Nail-Ounce/dp/B00150LT40/ref=pd_ybh_a_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=DZF0853QRTX7YY9YF3WM
Seche Vite top coat is a total game changer. It literally dries your nails fully in 10-20 minutes. That means I can get a quick manicure in during naps or even before bed (I've painted my nails 20 minutes before bed and there were no sheet marks!). I've been telling every mom I know.
I recommend investing in a bottle of Seche Vite (as do a lot of people) and buy a bottle of nail polish thinner while you're at it because it gets thick.
I usually wash dishes and shower daily and it's chip free for days, even with really cheap polish.
There's several thing you can do to help improve your learning experience of the metric system!
One is this:
Killer Hound Dogs _ Deserve Cooked Meat
This helps you remember Kilo (1000), Hecto (100), Deca (10), Deci (.10), Centi (.100), and Mili (.1000). The is for the base unit, so meters, liters, etc. There's also a little song that goes with this, and you add a little "bark bark bark!" at the part where the base unit goes. Hehe, you don't need to worry about that, though. ;D
As for the other stuff you need to memorize, like the formulas and stuff like that, I highly suggest the use of flashcards. I actually hate making flashcards myself, because it takes forever to make them (especially when you need to make a lot) and I feel like it's a waste of time. I could actually use the time I'm taking to make them to actually study, you know? But I did find this really cool site, studyblue.com, where you make online flashcards. It's a lot faster, and you can view them wherever you're at, as long as you have a computer, smartphone, or other mobile device!
I used Study Blue for my chemistry class last semester, since there were a lot of things to memorize for that class, and it helped a lot! It keeps track of which ones you got wrong, and at the end of the deck, you can redo all the ones you got wrong. Essentially what you would do with IRL flashcards, really, but I just find it a lot more efficient to do on a computer.
Other than that, I would suggest coming up with some mnemonic devices to help you remember things! You can probably find some suggestions online, but I find that it's particularly effective if you come up with it yourself. You'll remember it better because it has a specific meaning to you. Also, you can always use sticky notes to write formulas or whatever on, and stick those around your house- on the fridge door, inside the fridge, on your mirror, your beside table, etc. If you expose yourself to something often enough, it's bound to get stuck in your head.
I really hope this helps! I know studying can really suck sometimes, but the tips I gave you always help me out when I'm having trouble. =) If I win, I'd really like this top coat! I've heard such great things about it, and I've been dying to try it!
Thanks for the contest, and good luck! =D
Make good art always.
Seche VIte
thanks for gifting:)
I use Seche Vite top coat and it works really well. It also has a ton of positive reviews on Amazon, so I guess it works for others too.
Seche Vite on Amazon
The Seche Vite top coat is by far the best. It's a little pricey depending on where you get it from, but man, it is so worth it.

Oh goodness, and I forgot to mention you need to get a top coat and base coat. OPI is a good choice for a base coat, but I'd recommend a quick dry top coat (I like Seche Vite.) Again, if you're feeling fancy, a matte top coat is always fun to have, but not necessary.
Cool idea! Here's mine:
China Glaze Recycle
Loreal French Tip White
Sinful Colors Out of this world
China Glaze Set it Stone
Finger Paints Black Expressionism
China glaze Luxe and Lush
Sinful Colors Fiji
Wet and Wild Dark green (this one is literally 10 years old and I can't find it online anywhere so no pic, sorry :(
Seche Vite Quick Dry Topcoat, the chemicals in this one scare me :/
Awesome score. Seche vite really is amazing.
Lol, I'm always baffled why people buy it at "regular price" in store (as it's often $8+ in stores) when you can buy Seche Vite on Amazon for $5, free shipping included.
Here)
Probably my biggest "hobby" (more like addiction) is painting my nails. I haven't quite gotten into the nail art thing but I absolutely looooove painting my nails. That's probably why my wish list is actually my polish wish list - it's the only thing I want <3
However, one of my biggest problems with my nails is that they are WEAK. They break really easily and have a hard time growing long at all. Because of this, my nails are perpetually short, which makes painting my nails harder for two reasons: a) Nail polish all over my skin and b) A lot of the colors I would like to wear just don't look as good on short nails.
Anyways. What would help me to have more flexibility with what I paint my nails (as I always shy away from my darker colors or bright colors that make my nails/hands look bad) is if I could grow them longer, which I could do if I had Nail Envy, a product many people swear by in order to help their nails grow long and strong. I've been dying to try it for a while now because I feel like it would make life so much easier!
If it ends up working for you, it's a lot cheaper on Amazon! http://www.amazon.com/OPI-Nail-Envy-Original-Ounce/dp/B00178TVXG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415585648&sr=8-1&keywords=nail+envy
I found it at a Nordstrom Rack for around $13 too!
Four nails?! Oh no :( Have you ever tried OPI Nail Envy? Stuff works pretty well.
And 30 minutes a week on nails are definitely realistic! I take out a time every Saturday or Sunday to work on my nails ranging from 30 minutes to longer depending on the design I want to do.
I don't see a picture, but what really helped me was to get some nail-strengthening polish like nail envy.
I bit my nails for the better part of 20 years before I finally stopped about 2 years ago.
Best of luck! It's a rough habit to break, but it feels so good once you do :)
EDIT: I forgot to mention: Moisturize! Be it hand cream, cuticle cream, cuticle oil, whatever. It keeps them neat so there's no hangnails, which makes them look healthier, which helps curb the temptation to bite!
I agree with Flamyngo! OPI Original Nail Envy changed my world! In the stores its like $20 a bottle but on amazon I get it for $8!!!! Check it out http://www.amazon.com/OPI-Nail-Natural-Strengthener-0-5-Ounce/dp/B00178TVXG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344516901&sr=8-1&keywords=opi+nail+envy
you can just start with the original formula

We actually had 6 similar items!! i'm gonna say we both need nail envy because i only have a few drops of mine left (sads:/) and we want BEAUTIFUL nails! this stuff is seriously my god. i can't get over how much my nails have improved! i know you want strong ass nails, too, because who doesn't??:)
also, yay for birthday!!
We both have nail envy! My nails are definitely not at their strongest right now, and nail envy would definitely help. Thank you so much for the contest!
EDIT: hay, look, we both have knackered too. But I'm not sure if that one counts because it's TOO DAMN HIGH. I hate BL for that. You can't just make beautiful polishes and then make them EXPENSIVE. :P
Get on Amazon and get yourself some OPI Nail Envy. It has worked wonders for my nail!! They're significantly stronger and keeps them the proper white color. My nails used to stain very easily and it's definitely helped with that as well.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00178TVXG/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1405489488&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40
This is very cool! ;)
My main lemming is actually OPI Nail Envy, but I'm saving up for it. :)
The elusive lemming I've been crushing on hard is essie Shine of the Times.
Enjoy your tax return! :)

this seche restore is on my wishlist, 5.19 and free shipping :)
My favorite youtuber probably changes on a daily basis. Most recently i was digging on todrick hall and this video, Beauty and the Beat, starring such youtube sensations as GloZell and Antoine Dodson. Never gets old :)
Seche Vite is amazing!! When it gets low, it becomes a little hard to use, I highly recommend adding their Restore to your wishlist. It really helps extend the life of that bottle. Have fun!!
getchu some of dis
You need this
1 cent over... Damn
Hey! So a couple questions first:
So, if you do have Seche Vite (and not clear), I would try taking it back and saying you got a bad bottle. Try to return it and say that it's your first experience with it and you expected it to work "up to par," even though it was on sale. Stuff on sale should be there to save you money, not on sale because it's shitty, right? Maybe out of season, but not defective, unless there's some kind of warning on it. So yeah, I would try to return it.
I have gone through quite a few bottles of Seche Vite myself, and I find that buying Seche Restore is super helpful for when it starts to get goopy. It's a nail polish thinnner, designed to keep the same properties as SV (Restore can be used with any polish, but not any thinner can be used with Seche Vite- does that make sense?)
Anyway, this is one huge freakin wall of text, but I hope it helps! Let me know if you have more questions or if something I said isn't clear :)
Not sure what's available there, but you may be able to get cheaper Seche Vite in this kind of packaging!
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0027VCNGO
Here you go! 4 solid ounces of delicious topcoat.
Awesome! Depending on your budget, I'd look into indie polishes for her - there are a ton of different brands on Etsy and their own sites, and they tend to have more unique polishes than the mainstream brands. For example, KBShimmer is a popular indie with lots of fun color combinations and consistently good polishes. They generally ship very quickly, too.
As far as nail art goes, I know there are some books out there, but I've never owned one, so I can't point you in a direction for that. However, some basic tools are useful if she doesn't have them - such as dotting tools or nail art brushes. There are a ton of different sellers on Amazon for these; most of them are coming from China or Hong Kong and will take a month to get to the US, but if you dig through the alternate sellers, you can usually find a US seller or two.
Some nail decorations such as studs or rhinestones could be fun, too. Same China/Hong Kong shipping warning for these, too.
Otherwise, maybe stamping would be something she'd be interested in. Stamping is the process of painting nail polish on an engraved plate, scraping off the excess, and then picking it up off of the plate and applying it to the nail with a rubber stamper. This is a popular starting stamper, and there are a TON of plates out there, and they can vary in quality. This is the set that I started off with, and I've been pleased with them. There's a brand called "Moyou London" that's very high quality and creative plates, but they also cost more, of course - they can be found on Amazon and on their own site. There are some special "stamping" polishes out there, but any thick polish will work well - the brand Sally Hansen Insta Dri (available in basically any drugstore/Walmart/Target/etc) are often recommended.

Thanks for the contest!
Thanks! And this is the plate I used, and I used this stamper! :)
The stamper should work with any plate. I have the official Konad stamper and bought a few single Konad plates. Then I decided to give one of the bundle plate sets (this one specifically) a try and the plates have been comparible to the Konad ones for me.
The main thing is using polish that will work well with the stamper. I have one of the official Konad polishes, but bought a bunch of the Sally Hansen Insta-Dris that work great with it as well. I know there's a blog out there that has a huge list of polishes that stamp well.
You should definitely give it a try! It's so fun!
I have lots :) CG Def Defying is $4.63, CG Red Satin is $4.66, CG Surreal Appeal is $5, CG Whirled Away is $5.27, Essie Ballet Slippers is $5.79, and this stamper is $4.35. There's more options than that, so if I win you can look at those too if none of these tickle your fancy :)
I also have lots of favorite shows! I love Supernatural, Weeds, Pretty Little Liars, the new Hawaii Five-0, Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy, Psych, Fringe. (The bold ones are the ones I recommend you watch if you haven't seen them already)
edit to add Fringe. More may be added haha
One of these bad boys!

Well you'll need a stamper and a scraper, Amazon has a lot of different kits available. I have a set from Konad similar to this. Then you'll need plates, which mostly come in sets but then they have jumbo plates which is one big piece of metal with several designs etched into it. I've bought all my plates from Amazon as well, my favorite brands are MoYou London, Pueen, and Cheeky. Then as far as how to actually stamp I recommend youtube videos, there are so many helpful ones out there!
Man I suck so bad at deciding what I want too..I always just tell people they don't need to get me anything or if they're insistent I ask for a gift card.
Alright..lemme put on my thinking cap..
I guess my first suggestion is obligated to be this CD because of the title..
Or there's this stinkin' freakin' cute Rilakkuma backpack/bag
If you like cats on socks there's these cute friendly kitties or if you like cats and socks but aren't happy there are these cats flipping the bird on socks
If you'd rather drown your birthday in alcohol than cute things there are these nice stemless wine glasses
If you'd rather watch movies on your birthday Howls moving castle is always a good choice
Or if you're a makeup person there's this nice set of matte lip color.
If you're more of a nail person you could get this stamper and kitty cat design nail plate together to have some crazy cute kitty nails!
I may suck at picking things for myself, but I can suggest things all day for others :p
^^even ^^if ^^I ^^may ^^or ^^may ^^not ^^be ^^bad ^^at ^^that ^^too.
Either way I hope you and /u/LadyAmpersand have amazing birthdays! Having a birthday twin is always fun c:
I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts!
Anyway this is very important for my job interview. I will be using this to viciously stamp my job competition's... nails... ok it's not the best thought out plan. Whatever.
actually a few days ago i posed this same question to laqueristas because it just seemed to daunting to start something completely new like this. here's the post. u/norikotheninja's comment was definitely the most helpful.
i settled on gals' princess plate set and the konad stamper and scraper. the konad plates look nice, but not for $5 a pop. but definitely delve into the youtube videos that show you all the plates and techniques etc.
Here are some cheap brushes. A stamper and some plates might be nice. And dotting tools.
What kind of polish does she wear? Sparkly, shimmer, creme? I like indie brands but Zoya, Orly, OPI, and China glaze are nice and easily accessible.
This Konad set is what I started with, and I picked three separate plates I liked to go with it. They have some other starter kits, but I didn't like the designs of the four plates that came with it, so it was just as cost-effective to buy the kit and plates separately. You can find the stamper on other sites as well, and ebay has a lot of nail stuff for pretty cheap, if you don't mind long waits for shipping.
Other stamping plates you can pick up are the Cheeky sets, which have 25 plates for usually about $25 on various websites. They have a variety of designs for cheaper than the Konad plates, but with the same quality I've heard.
My one important suggestion is that whatever stamping kit you get, don't bother with the scraper they give you. It's usually a metal scraper that scratches the plates and does a bad job clearing the excess polish off the plate. Instead, what I use (at the recommendation of a lot of people) is an old plastic gift card. It's wide and easy to hold, sturdy enough to scrape off the excess polish, and doesn't scratch up the plate. I had a lot of trouble with stamping until I switched to using it instead of the scraper that came with the kit, but I'm glad everyone recommended it to me!

Konad can be bought online here http://www.ocnailart.com/ (not sure if they ship internationally)
Image plates are listed around $7
Plus you will need to buy the stamper
A cheaper alternative is the bundle monster
http://www.amazon.com/Bundle-Monster-Stamping-Manicure-Accessories/dp/B003ILUQPM
It is $18 for 21 image plates. You also will still need to purchase a stamper.
I hear the only difference between bundle monster and konad is that bundle monster image plates are sharper on the outside so you will need to handle them with a bit more care.
Also keep in mind that not all polish is good for stamping. Konad sells special nail polish (at an absurd price)
but thick kind of goopy nail polish works well also. I find that icing nail polish gets gloppy on me quickly so you may want to look in to that.
I have a TON of stamping plates, and I've never bought one in a store. They're almost all exclusively online. Over 90% of the plates I own are from Amazon:
Bundle Monster Set 1
Bundle Monster Set 2
Red Angel
My favorite of these is Red Angel. You can see which plates I've used at my blog's Red Angel page. Below each plate image is a link to the posts I've used the plates for. If there's no link, I haven't used them yet.
Hope that helps!
Konad is great, but it's a bit more expensive. Their stamps are larger, so they cover a lot more area; this is highly beneficial when stamping thumbs. On the other hand, there are Bundlemonster plates. These are awesome and much cheaper, but tend to run on the small side. They're actually releasing a whole new line of plates soon and a they look awesome!! This is a great site for Konad plates and you can get BundleMonster from Amazon
Thank you for your compliment. I used Bundle Monster Nail Art plates. It comes with 21 plates of different kinds and shapes. I bought the Konad scraper and stamper too for them. It took a couple of tries for me to figure out the timing between painting/scraping/stamping.
Oh, and I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White. I don't think I mentioned it. The main thing is, since Metallic Muse is so, well, metallic, the shine kinda hides the white of the stamp. But if you look at the nails in a way that light doesn't directly hit them, it shows really well, and it looks pretty, so I don't complain.
:D It's SH12 from the Shany 2012 set. Not sure if you can get it on it's own, though.
I second the amazon movement! I picked up my bundle for cheap! Granted it was 9.95 when I bought it and they raised it 5 bucks, of course! But its exactly like the bundle monster. And the stamper I opted for was not the double ended stamper but was still cheaper with shipping than the other example. Also checking clearance anywhere you go. You would be surprised what you'll find.
*The best tip for major nail haul I have been given though, is checking craigslist for polish. When a nail salon closes down, they will sometimes list all their stuff, polish included for cheap! Check this post out! I found one and it should be coming very soon!
My name is Marci and I love nail polish, nail art, and everything related to nails! :D I have a 3 year old daughter and she enjoys it as much as I do and we have so much fun together. Her Christmas nails. :) I would love to have this so we have somewhere to store our polish. Thanks for the contest!
I have this, I think there are bigger ones. I just placed it on my bookshelf. I like it because I can spot what color I want without having to dig around.
I have some nail sparkles for $1.36 /free shipping https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005BF1M10/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_UDMIxbPE157R2

Nail Tape, 1.39, free shipping!
Other thing, your choice for spending money I've been saving to get a phone so I can get on an affordable plan.
If I'm picked, split the cost down to half (30 bucks) and pick another winner. I'd rather the love spread around a little more, ya know?
Thank you for the opportunity and take care! Happy First Contest! :)
Oh wait, even better! This one from Nail_World365 is $0.99+free shipping to Canada.
The color I used is Julep's Roc Solid. The tape is super cheap on Amazon. You can find it Here! I also used a jewel on my thumb (kind of hard to see) which was also super cheap on Amazon. You can find those HERE as well.
someone (who I've already forgotten, sorry!!!) JUST posted this which I imagine would get her off to a good start, if she doesn't already have a zillion randoms around. Sephora by OPI might also still be on sale and super cheap. They have colors/strips/and remover I think? Otherwise just amazon around, you can get striping tape for practically nothing, and rhinestones and fimo canes, oh my! That sound get her started.
I buy cheap polish for like accent colors, because I will probably almost never paint all my nails...yellow for instance. Otherwise I like Essie and OPI the best. You also may want to look into some of those clear plastic drawers for storage as well. Hope it helps!
I ordered it online from Amazon. I just did a search for nail striping tape and picked the cheapest one ;) The one I got actually shipped from Hong Kong, and I don't see them any longer when I tried to find them just now =/
This seller has the pictures that went with the ones I bought, if that helps?
Ok lets see here.... this is one of the only things under $3 on my polish wishlist that has green in it. P.s. It would be my first striping tape!
Thanks for the contest!
OMG you and I are going to have babies the same week (if everything goes as planned)!!!!! My due date keeps changing, gahh it sucks.
Cute baby item for you and for your lil' girl.
Item from my wish list.
If I have a girl I'm naming her Leela, so there is a name, and Persephone was a close second for us. But, I really do like Sprinkle Donut!!
Good luck!!
I've been wanting striping tape but keep not getting around to buying it! YAY cheap tools!
I also found them on ebay with free shipping
Nail brushes and nail tape!
Also Blazing Saddles is awesome!!
Oh no, don't do that, don't do that. If you shoot him, you'll just make him mad.
How exciting!! I'd love to own Highlight of My Summer, Light as Air, or maybe some striping tape.
I'm also on a no-buy... but I broke it for Samoan Sand. Totally worth it! Good luck with yours :)
I don't have any striping tape or studs/charms/whatever these are (but I've been eyeing them forever!) And they're both only a $1!
it was super easy! I used this tape in white and just made 3 horizontal lines, 3 lines leaning to the left and 3 lines leaning to the right and just made them cross at the same points...if that makes sense!
Question 1: If you're thinking of the really thin lines, you can use nail art tape.
If you want a custom width, you might want to put tape on wax paper (or left over sticker paper) and cut it with a ruler/exact-o knife. I've never tried this, I'm just guessing.
Here are some other ways to use tape: http://www.buzzfeed.com/peggy/12-amazing-diy-nail-art-designs-using-scotch-tape
http://www.amazon.com/Nail-Stripe-Decoration-Sticker-Hologram/dp/B0069FDR96/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_cart_2
The green polish is Sally Hansen Extreme Wear Mint Sorbet. The striping tape is just the silver that came in this pack from China:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0069FDR96/ref=oh_details_o08_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I got mine from amazon too but they were a bit more expensive but worth the price since they weren't damaged or missing at all: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0069FDR96/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00
but i trusted the seller bc of their ratings
I bought mine on amazon.com. $4 for a set of 10 rolls and it showed up in a matter of days.

Very pleased with this purchase.
Not too shabby for a free handed job! If you want a cleaner, more smooth-edge look, invest in some nail tape!

I got mine from Amazon from this seller. However, it took about a month for it to arrive.
Reminds me of CG's Peachy Keen.
Could be wrong though.
Fun concept for a contest! Um, do non polish things count that we both have on our list? We both have konad m57 on our lists as well as CG Peachy Keen and Essie Turquoise and Caicos. Thanks for the Twins contest!
What a cool idea! We both have China Glaze Peachykeen I've had my eye on it since the summer! Hooray for Twins

I purchased this set: http://www.amazon.com/Bundle-Monster-Stamping-Manicure-Accessories/dp/B003ILUQPM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323438892&sr=8-1
I do have one Konad that I received as part of the rl exchange that I will be trying out next just to compare. So, at the moment I've only used Bundle Monster. I'm curious to know how other stamping plates compare as well.
I also purchased http://www.amazon.com/Nail-Art-Double-Stamper-Scraper/dp/B002MZ8BK2/ref=pd_bxgy_bt_img_b
So far CG works well for stamping. I'm excited to see if Essie, Orly, OPI...and others will work as well.
I know of one geek girl who loves this http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Nailart-Stamping-Manicure-Accessories/dp/B003ILUQPM
I just picked up the Cheeky 2012 and MASH 2012 sets for pretty cheap, with a Konad Stamper/Scraper Set. I've heard good things about Bundle Monster and Shany too, but these seemed to have more designs I liked. So there are realistically quite a few cheap options out there for you!
You need stamping plates, like these. They are metal plates with indented images on them. You take an opaque polish and paint it over one of the images. Then you use a little scraper to scrape off the extra polish that gets on the flat part of the plate. I have the scraper and stamp set shown here. After you scrape off the extra, you roll the end of the stamper over the polish on the plate, then roll it over your nail. The ends of the stamper are soft and rubbery and it picks up the polish from the indentation in the plate and transfers it right to your nail. It sounds complicated but I assure you it was so easy. These were my first attempts, and they came out great!
This stamping plate set
Because one of my very best friends bought me a Konad stamper to use for Christmas but no one got me plates! So, I haven't been able to use it, unfortunately. </3 I also graduated on Friday! :D
study sunday
They are totally amazing try these I just got them today
I'm not currently home but it's from the Shany set I just got in the mail yesterday... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004DK0UDA/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I can update you with the stamp number and polish names when I get home later. I'm super excited with how it turned out but I definately still need more practice.
I have one of these. :)

Hi! Thank you for the contest :)
My goal is to quit smoking! I started smoking when I was 18, and it has been a few years. It's an extremely bad habit, something I should have never picked up, and it has definitely had some bad effects on my health. I would like to quit without using gums or patches, so I've been using an e-cig to suppress at least some of my cravings. I still feel like I need a real cigarette sometimes, but I definitely have cut down! Hey, every step toward a goal is progress, right? :)

Shop around and you'll find them for lower prices.
If you have time, buy them on eBay, that's where I always get them. They get shipped from Chine or Hong Kong and super low prices. I've bought 5 nail dotting tools for 1-2$, including shipping, and lots and lots more. A 12 wheel of nail decals, stickers and whatnot, for 99 cents.
Here is the desktop version of your link

I'm terrified of going to college. I don't even know what I'm going to do when I get there.. Like, who should I talk to? What should i do? Where am I going to sit? It's stressing me out hardcore.
Thank you for the contest, and I'd keep you in my basement. Seriously. I'd even make you pancakes if you told me I was pretty.
this has green in it lol plus free shipping http://www.amazon.com/MASH-Rhinestones-Nailart-Manicure-Wheels/dp/B005BF1M10/ref=pd_rhf_se_s_cp_6_7D6H?ie=UTF8&refRID=1BED2HBG1XCXK1A87D6H
Ohh boy, that's ok! These lovely gems are $1.82 after shipping right now, but it's only May 1st so you could still find something better!
The cheapest place to get a lot of this is by search around on amazon, honestly. If I were you, I'd get a set of nail brushes instead of a whole set of striping polishes. Then you can use one bottle for multiple things. And here are some cheap, but good, dotting tools.
This is an add-on item, but it's the cheapest you're going to find orangewood sticks anywhere. You can also gets pearls and gems
Sanding blocks and nail files are pretty affordable at sally's. but if you can get into CosmoProf, it's even cheaper there. I believe a manicure bowl is also pretty cheap at Sally's.
Your biggest money sink will be nailpolish. There are some decent brands for fairly cheap, but overall....
I think [these] (http://www.amazon.com/MASH-Rhinestones-Nailart-Manicure-Wheels/dp/B005BF1M10/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=QQEPMN5YQAW1&coliid=I1ZTPKE1YG4W6R) would add some serios bling to my manis-> making them FABULOUS! LOL. It's $1.52 with shipping. Maybe then you could polish 2 people.
But if I had to pick a polish it would be [Flip Flop Fantasy] (http://www.amazon.com/China-Glaze-Poolside-FANTASY-Lacquer/dp/B0085YK77O/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=QQEPMN5YQAW1&coliid=IZ5DBG7I8Z9LJ) I saw it at Sallys- should have just gone for it then- but I was there for Turned Up Turquoise - Which I love! I think it would be a great summer color & I swim a lot so I gotta have my toesies looking fancy!
Thanks for a fun, flash contest!
Hope your day at work is going well. It is the beginning of vacation season so we have a few people out and it's craziness.
iz been eyin it 4.68
4.80 is a really awkward number with shipping, this one is 4.69
This one is 8cents over =/ 4.88
you could get THREE of these for 4.92, one for you one for me one for a contest!!
I shall stop. im becoming obsessive finding a polish for 4.8 exactly. =/
Amazon! They have millions of different kinds. They're hella cheap but ship from Hong Kong so it takes about a month but so worth it! Here's a link to some!

I feel like mine is pretty out of control, in that I only started a nail-specific wishlist about a week ago & it's already 4 pages long. I'm lusting over a whole host of Chanel colours, specifically Graphite & Black Pearl. But also Butter London's Gobsmacked & Tart with a Heart. And, I'm dying to get my hands on some Matte About You.
Realistically, my next purchase will likely be China Glaze's Some Like It Haute and/or Concrete Catwalk.

Good luck on your interview! Thanks for the contest! [Here you go] (http://www.amazon.com/China-Glaze-Polish-Concrete-Catwalk/dp/B005EHHWPA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=3IZ898O3HRR5V&coliid=I19AA41LPMQNWG)!
These are super cheap I love them. They are very thin though so for a design like yours you'd have to tape of the bottom and top of the zig-zag rather than one big piece of tape.
Sure, here you go :) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0069FDR96/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_Jwmjtb1Y1CKFD
Striping tape for nail polish!
Hahaha sucker, screenshotting all day for you!!
$1.02 shipped nail thingies
Today, I drove my mom to the airport and then got lost on the way home. When I finally got back, I laid out in the sun and then watched Six Feet Under. It was a pretty boring day, but it was nice to relax!
I'd really like some nail art things like [these] (http://www.amazon.com/Dotting-Marbleizing-Manicure-Pedicure-Ounce/dp/B004OHQR1Q/ref=wl_mb_wl_huc_mrai_1_dp) or [these] (http://www.amazon.com/Nail-Stripe-Decoration-Sticker-Hologram/dp/B0069FDR96/ref=sr_1_3?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1372390674&sr=1-3&keywords=things) . Thanks for the contest by the way!
This nail tape is only $0.08. Unfortunately shipping is $1.00. XD
I hope it's okay that I just added these nail striping tapes to my wish list. After painting red and white stripes on my nails for the 4th of July, I realized I needed a better system than cutting scotch tape into (very uneven) strips.
whiskey in the jar-oh is my favorite-oh ♡♡♡♡♡♡
Love these metal nail addons. Or the nail stripes that someone else already linked. SO CUTE! And sooo cheap. <:
you can get it here
Hope that helps!
$1.00 exact w/free shipping in my nail polish wishlist.
Definitely not bad for a first attempt!
Dotting tools, brushes, and striping tape (or even more!) can all be found really cheap on Amazon!

Tiny Brushes!
Thanks for the contest!
I was searching 'best nail polish brands' and your post came up. Get here these 1, 2, and 3. They ship from hong kong and will take about 2 weeks to get to the USA but she'll love these because she can do designs.
These are on my cosmetics list!
Happy birthday, u rite cheeky cunt!
Favorite birthday party: I went turtleback riding!
Awww, this is so sweet! Nail art doesn't have to be expensive at all, the salon I go to uses a lot of toothpicks and tiny brushes for most of their fancy stuff. The problem is with actually DOING the art. It takes a super steady hand and some serious talent. I'm awful at it which is why I have them done instead. Have you considered getting her a gift card to a salon? If you go that route, make sure to show them some pictures of what you have in mind and ask if they can do it. If they're legit they'll have some pictures or samples to show you.
As far as kits go, $20 on amazon should be just fine. I would recommend getting one with the little bottles, because the little bottles come with little brushes (which is essential for doing art). Maybe some extra tiny brushes for detail. Also dotting pens are a fancy and durable alternative to toothpicks. If she's into bling, nail jewels are cool and fancy as fuck. Lastly (and very important), invest in some serious base coat and top coat. There's nothing worse than spending an hour getting your nails did just to have them chip an hour later. OPI is top shelf.
Here are some links to help get you started. Hope this helps, good luck!

Did you get this set? I just ordered these because they were so cheap and someone on here recommended them not too long ago. If so, what was wrong with them?
Also, if these suck, my next step will be somewhere like Michael's to get tiny brushes. Also heard that ELF eyeliner brushes work well.

Happy belated birthday!! I want a present. I would love this it's $2.35 plus free shipping and it isn't an add-on
Nail tape because who doesn't like making their nails pretty!?
Here is a view from yesterday when I gave our stray kitties some food. It's taken from the other side of my glass outside front door, so that counts, right? I would take a new one but it's dark here.
I've never had any nail tape before so these would be nice if I won.
I think this is a great idea! C'mon spring!
Hello! Orly's Sparkling Garbage Is lovely, Rockstar :D
[HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHICA!] (http://www.amazon.com/30Pcs-Colors-Striping-Decoration-Sticker/dp/B00A76CPUA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1OUQ8B0KGTG86&coliid=I1T0VPBHVAP1MX)
Make sure you have plenty of water to re hydrate when you're done celebrating! =)
Orly Sparkling Garbage will cost $9.99 including shipping to Canada from Lovely Nails. I want it because holy crap it's beautiful and I have yet to try an Orly, which I think is a serious shame. Thank you so much for the contest! You're too sweet for spending your gift card on us. :D
These nail design things look promising. I don't have enough patience to use striping tape for chevron manis.
These would make a GREAT stocking stuffer because they are small and they will be used!! Not just put somewhere! USED! haha
I have gifted a few people before because I am a shop-a-holic and believe I should use this for good!!! Plus giving to others is just AWESOME! Who doesn't like getting free things?!?! And not to mention FREE things they WANT!
I've been with RAOA for almost 2 months :D
[Winstonia] (http://www.amazon.com/Winstonia-Stamp-Stamping-Manicure-Pedicure/dp/B00B868SK4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371488863&sr=8-1&keywords=winstonia+plates) Plate #117. The whole set is about 15 bucks on Amazon.
It's a stamp. Plate Winstonia 113. It's part of this plate set.
I recommend the Winstonia stamping kit. It comes with 20 plates and it's ON SALE RIGHT NOW! :O For less than $15. The only complaint I have about this kit is that the full nail stamps are too small to fully cover my thumb nail.
I agree with the other laqueristas who have posted that the Konad stamper is the way to go. As far as scrapers go, I've found that using an old credit card or gift card is best. If you get a stamper/scraper kit that comes with a scraper, that's great, but I still think that the plastic cards do a better job. I've also heard good things about the white double sided Winstonia large-sized stamper, but have yet to try it myself.
Be sure to look up stamping polishes before you try stamping. Most nail polishes won't work well with the stamping kit. I would recommend getting Wet n Wild "Black Creme" and Wet n Wild "French White Creme" to start off. They are much cheaper and easier to find than the black and white Konad polishes, and work almost as well. For colors other than black and white, I'd recommend googling generic brand polishes that are good for stamping. There are a lot of blogs that have lists of polishes that work well for this technique.
item! thanks for the contest :)
Happy early birthday!
I actually just purchased this so I still dont own them but they are great! Ive seen many manis use one of these designs.
Its the winstonia first generation stamping plates.

I saw it used in a design the other day and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. THIS POLISH HAUNTS MY DREAMS.
I had to get it off of Amazon; I couldn't find any locally either. This is what I got, but I paid more to get it from a US vendor so I wouldn't have to wait so long to get it. http://www.amazon.com/30Pcs-Colors-Striping-Decoration-Sticker/dp/B00A76CPUA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1369745653&sr=8-2&keywords=striping+tape

I think we NEED Essie Play Date. I mean come on, it is the perfect purple. It's in your wishlist too so you must agree :) Plus it's $5.95 with free shipping.
Though if you aren't in a purple mood, Sparkling Garbage is just $8 and also has free shipping. I've recently become convinced that everyone should have this polish so it's really also a polish we both need.
*edit because I forgot to tell you that you're a total rockstar! That was close haha
awe man I got excited thinking I bought this but I have the https://www.amazon.com/Seche-Vite-Fast-Nail-Ounce/dp/B00150LT40/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1485206124&sr=8-1&keywords=top%2Bcoat&th=1 so I guess it's different?
Not Essie/OPI but I have both Seche Vite top and base coats that I'm hoping to get rid of:

I've used [Seche Vite fast dry Top Coat] (http://www.amazon.com/Seche-Vite-Fast-Nail-Ounce/dp/B00150LT40)
It's worked great on top of all my stamp designs!
Hope this helps!
I have gotten it at Sally's Beauty Supply and Ulta before. You can also get it on Amazon.
My nail life would be complete if I could get my hands on a bottle of Seche Vite :D

My favorite birthday was when my friends and I took a limo to NYC to see Hairspray on Broadway.
Uhm, obviously whatever colors you'd like. China Glaze colors are my fav, and they are generally pretty cheap. Get a nice base coat (so the polish doesn't stain you nails) and a shiny top coat (to help prevent chipping). Seche Vite is an awesome fast dry top coat you can try..... Ahhhh, I cant think of anything else right now, but Im sure you'll figure it out with time. Everyone here is GREAT at answering questions and helping and giving great mani ideas!!! :) Enjoy!! You'll become addicted!!!
I would love to try this!

Yeah they dry decently fast but it sounds like you need some of this. You can slather it on when your nails are still wet and it'll dry pretty quickly and look like glass.
Seche vite fast dry top-coat:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seche-Vite-Professional-Coat-14ml/dp/B00150LT40
you're welcome
It's different for everyone cos we all have slightly different chemistry/oiliness/lengths/shapes.... For me, I use a ridge filling base coat, any colour polish (I don't think buying the more expensive ones is worth it unless they are unique colours) but I SWEAR by the Seche Vite topcoat because it dries so quickly and lasts better than most others I've tried. (I recommend the topcoat restorer too cos the top coat gets thick and clumpy in the bottle really quickly.)
Also: many thin coats is annoying, but works better than one thick coat
Here's some suggestions of the things you asked for.
First, a shelf to put her polish and supplies on. I have this one from Amazon which I like a lot.
Some of my favorite brands of polish: Zoya, OPI, Sinful Colors, Essie.
I know several people get on Etsy and buy Indie polishes (polishes from independent businesses and manufacturers). I don't have any experience with those, but there's some great ones from what I've seen here.
If she enjoys nail art, a set of Nail Art Brushes and dotting tools would be a nice addition. Make sure in that group is a small, angled brush to do clean ups around the nail and cuticle. VERY important for a clean look.
A base coat and top coat is also important. Look for a quick drying top coat. I recommend Seche Vite. Just be sure to tell her to read the instructions/tips for using it. It's a bit different in some ways. :)
Also, some cuticle cream with moisturizers, cotton balls or pads, Q-Tips, and Acetone polish remover are also some things she'll need.
That should be a nice beginners basket for her. I'm sure you'll get other suggestions as well.
Sneaking into a peacock pen to pet the pretty peacocks at a zoo. I refuse to ever do that again because they are as vicious as they are beautiful and I ended up having to get stitches. I'm lucky I didn't get my eye put out.
If I win, I would love to get a top coat for nail polish. Thanks for throwing a contest!
The Seche Vite top coat is amazing! Best I have ever used. Seconding using the "floating" technique.
Seche Vite is a pretty good topcoat. (You can also buy it at Target.)
Sorry about the puppy. I know that was a frustrating time for me trying to find the perfect pup. Don't worry! You'll find yours. =)

Found something under $5! My favorite top coat :]
Happy birthday! You are only 2 months younger than my middle daughter :)
I like Dog Potty Training Doorbell or Homemade Soda Book!
On the much less expensive side there is IBD Reconstrux Nail Growth or OPI Nail Envy because school has killed my nails.
This OPI Nail Envy or this bigsexyhair spray and my absolute favorite in-the-car-jam-out song is Feel the Love by Rudimental Unfortunately, when you listen to it on a computer, you can't hear the awesome bass that you hear when you play it in a car.
What helped me to not bite also has been painting my nails. I bought a strengthening polish and took a few minutes every day to paint them with it.
I used these two:
OPI Nail Envy Original, 0.5 Ounce
Nailtiques Formula 2 Protein, .5 Ounce
I use a cuticle oil I got from julep on my nails but Essie makes one that Ive used before that I like.
Are you using a base coat when you paint your nails? I found that when I didnt use a base coat my nails seemed to be weaker and more flimsy. OPI makes a good nail strengthener called Nail Envy. A lot if the folk at /r/RandomActsOfPolish consider it their Holy Grail. Though I opted for Essie's Strengthener. It works really well for me.
I would also try to avoid using acetone unless its necessary, I only use it to remove glitters and harder to remove stuff since my nails seem to be sensitive to it. Then I follow with my cuticle oil.
Ive read somewhere that cutting your nails causes damage to them. Im not sure I believe that but I stick to using a glass nail file to keep them in shape and the length I like. Its easier for me to shape with the file.
There is more than one shape you can make your nails (disclaimer: I dont know how well the chart works on what nail shape works for your nails, I just thought it was a good starting point and neat :) ).
This would be great for our nails! : )
It's not a top coat per se, but I SWEAR by this one as a base coat/nail strengthener. I also have CRAP nails and this really helps build up strength.
This is absolutely amazing, I love it. Very handy for carrying in your purse. You could also add some flakies as a nice surprise, such as Essie's Shine of The Times if she doesn't have it already. A very popular cuticle cream is Lush's Lemony Flutter, however if you don't want to spend that much Burt's Bee's also makes a popular cuticle cream as well. OPI's Nail Envy is also pretty popular. :)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00178TVXG/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1406480123&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40

Here you go.
Opi Nail Envy. I used it after biting and my nails were strong and long soon after.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00178TVXG/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1505230321&sr=8-1&keywords=opi+nail+envy+strengthener&dpPl=1&dpID=41Jwwxp%2BDQL&ref=plSrch
Good luck
Well, you can start by taking a Biotin supplement or prenatal vitamins. Those will help speed up the growth of your natural nails. You'll also want to get a strengthening polish of some sort. OPI Nail Envy is popular, but I'm not sure what's available where you live. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Hand cream as often as possible. Apply cuticle oil at least once or twice a day. There are tons out there. File your nails gently, and if they're not too sensitive, buff the surface to even it out. Don't over buff it. It shouldn't hurt. After your nail surfaces are stronger and less sensitive, you might want to get a cuticle remover gel and some orange wood sticks. Apply the cuticle remover, let it sit for a minute, and then use the orange wood to gently push back any of the stuff growing up your nails. Wash your hands after using the cuticle remover, if left on too long it could burn your skin. Moisturize.
I linked some products on amazon. Just because I linked specific products doesn't mean that's what you have to use. It might take a little while to figure out the routine that works best for you, but you can do it.
Restore?
Seche Vite! or Seche Restore
Best thinner ever http://www.amazon.com/Seche-Restore-Laquer-Restoration-Thinner/dp/B0017ZDH52/ref=sr_1_3?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1346621429&sr=1-3&keywords=seche+restore+2
Oh, you need Seche Restore! It's a thinner designed for SV and will get it right back to like it was when it was new.
http://www.amazon.com/Seche-Vite-Shine-Professional-Refill/dp/B0027VCNGO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1332007487&sr=8-1
Is this what you got?
If you wanna buy Seche Vite I would buy it on Amazon. I've went though about 2 1/2 bottles since September. Its my go to since I do stamping. I can't get any of the other topcoats to not smudge my art. [Its a ton cheaper on Amazon] (http://www.amazon.com/Seche-Vite-Shine-Professional-Refill/dp/B0027VCNGO/ref=sr_1_4?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1451488771&sr=1-4&keywords=seche+vite)
I did indeed get it from Amazon! The giant Seche Vite was like $12, and the Restore was too! :)
Woof, that is WAY more expensive! I got a bottle of 4oz+a .05 seche bottle on amazon for $13. Eventually, I'll try getting a small bottle of HK to see if it's a huge fifference for me. For now I'm very happy with how seche looks and gpfeels as long as I dont use it on white polish. I use Out the Door with any designs that have white in them, usually.
I used this Konad one
it seems to rely more on the scraper you use more than anything else. i got this one, it has a lot of fun full nail designs, but then a few cute decals, but i would recommend the konad stamper/scraper set for the best results!

Nail polish stamper!
What makes me beautiful!
Get a stamping kit - stamper here and some popular plates here! This is a good tutorial. I was hesitant to try it but just did right now and it's sooo cooooool!
I used this stamper: http://www.amazon.com/Nail-Art-Double-Stamper-Scraper/dp/B002MZ8BK2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346559283&sr=8-1&keywords=konad+stamper
And a design off this plate: http://www.amazon.com/INTRODUCTION-Collection-Plates-Designs-Cheeky/dp/B006OMHU4C/ref=sr_1_3?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1346559363&sr=1-3&keywords=cheeky+plate
This is great, but don't forget the actual stamper and scraper. The plates will be useless without them! http://www.amazon.com/Nail-Art-Double-Stamper-Scraper/dp/B002MZ8BK2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1368511391&sr=8-1&keywords=konad+stamper
This is my second attempt at doing the stamping. I push down on the stamp when "picking it up onto the stamper" and rolling it onto my nail.
I used a white base both times. The stamp color is black one is by sally hansen the other is Emori brand. I am working as fast as i can. I have tried the metal scraper the first time and a giftcard the second after speaking with someone here in the group. I also tried the stamper that came with the plates and its soft and squishy but same results.
I need some jars for all my new indies!
I also really want a stamper and some cuticle remover.
Happy birthday, lady! Thanks for the contest!

I bought this set: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B868SK4/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I used the birthday cake and two swoopy patterns that reminded me of scoops of ice cream. I messed up the birthday cake the most, I should have put it on my left hand. I just don't have the control with my left hand to apply the top coat without streaking yet, but I'm getting better.

This one holds 60, is fairly inexpensive and compact!
Also, when you make your move, be sure to wrap your bottles up in bubble wrap or newspaper or something. You don't want to go through the heartbreak of opening up your boxes to find broken glass and a puddle of sticky polish!

This is the one that I have, but yeah, it'd probably be better to wait until you're settled in your new place to invest in something like that.
