A stop sign costs $25 and this guy could have killed someone because he had to steal
>I left around 1am and went to go retrieve that sign that was rightfully mine.
____
Edit: 3 Went to reply to the reporter that covered the story originally, found out the sign was stolen from Chandler, Arizona
____
Final Edit: I got a response from the law enforcement agency i contacted, and they forwarded this info along to the investigator in charge of the tanker spill/ stop sign theft

If you can't buy what you want, become the one who sells it
dude. this is foolish. you should really contact your local police and fire so they can check. they have (or will contact) people qualified to determine if its safe.
edit: also certified geiger counters are like 300+ dollars. calling the authorities is free.
Looks like modern high performance reflective tape on flat front glasses. I wonder how well it would work with some Reflexite on wayfarers or something like this.
I'm opening a hat store. http://www.amazon.com/Brain-Coat-Shielding-your-Mind/dp/B00K0PX1KG/

I'd say it's a lot better than not being able to tell when you're being microwaved. And you can wear one of these caps to protect your brain. https://www.amazon.com/Brain-Coat-Shielding-your-Mind/dp/B00K0PX1KG/ref=pd_cp_121_1/143-2367951-0003128?8JDAPCTZQCFQKPNFVS3N
It's easy enough to add some grip tape near the nose of each stair. It gives much better traction when you're in socks, and it makes it easier to see the edge of each step.

While the technical details of this law are super lame, riding an electric board was also illegal before AB-604. I don't think the introduction AB-604 in 2016 changed anything for Boosted riders since Boosted doesn't sell a board anywhere near 1000W.
My local cops have acknowledged me on my board while riding in the street countless times without pulling me over. If I ever were pulled over for riding an illegal board, I would explain all of the steps I've taken to ride as safely as possible:
Hopefully an explanation of how respectful I am of laws and safety would sway the officer. However, I realize that if a cop is a big enough dick to pull me over on my skateboard, they're probably not going to be considerate in any way.
Fair enough.
FAQ from a sign maker.
Road signs you can buy on Amazon
From the Virginia DOT. The relevant part is at the bottom of the page.
I'm sure there are other pages as well, but this came up first. Both the DOT page and the sign maker's page specify that the sign must be installed on private property only.
Is there such a thing as collapsible cones that might fit in a tank bag?
Edit: Yes there is!!!
Quick google search yields this
Here you go.

I bought it in Silver-White, 1inch x 30ft.
I got sick of those, since all the ones I could find for sale were like that. Ended up getting a proper metal can, and don't have any problems now. Put spout into thing, squeeze handle, get gas into thing.

I've lived on 300 e here for 8 plus years now and one time a juggalo got too drunk partied and fell asleep in my car. I kicked him out and he came back 15 minutes later because he left his cell in my car.
Worst thing / Best thing? that ever happened....
I got this door sign and have never had another conversation about my eternal salvation since. - https://www.amazon.com/Soliciting-Business-Stylish-Outdoor-Knockers/dp/B01B39S9L8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1523285496&sr=8-4&keywords=no+religion+no+politics+sign
I would say I rarely encounter mormons that live downtown. My neighbors are my friends we shovel each others drive ways and pick up each others packages when we are away. It is the city and you do need to be aware but I don't lock my car and park in a drive.

"literally impossible to turn the switch on or off... " is an exaggeration (just need a screw driver), but it would slow them down.
Maybe add some screws for the switch plate that has a non-standard head that a thief isn't likely to have one them.

Just learned a great trick not to long ago. Putting some reflective tape will help you find things even in daylight and work amazing at night in camp. Helped me find my knife already and I put some on my tarp lines so I don't trip on them after a late night bathroom break. Got mine at the auto store.
There are some nice metal jerry cans out there, but people often complain about the plastic spouts they include. Folks on Amazon seem quite pleased with this one by Eagle.
Dude you've got to get some of these glowsticks:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0052ZAPXU/ref=sxts_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1539370493&sr=1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65
They're brighter than any glowstick I've ever seen and glow for 12 hrs without dimming. They've been my obsession recently. Highly recommend ordering some thin paracord to make the ultimate party necklace/poi/source of happiness for each of your friends.
Other suggestions for your get-together:
My friends and I like to move all the furniture out of the middle of the living room to create open floor space for dancing and sprawling out on the ground. Make a huge pile of blankets and pillows in the middle of the room and set the speakers up right in front of it!
We also love to get variety packs of different craft beers and try them while rolling! Things taste so different you may be surprised!
Obviously water is very important. It can be very nice to squeeze a lemon or lime into your ice water for a refreshing zing. Really perks you up!
15 people is a large group, so there's a good chance you'll have people in different moods/states of mind. It may be a good idea to set up 2 or 3 different rooms with different lighting, music, vibes so if anyone isn't feeling where they're at, they can move elsewhere.
Fruit is always a great idea. Just make sure to cut it up beforehand so you aren't dealing with knives while impaired lol.
Cigarettes and or vapes if you guys use nicotine. The smoking area is always a popular spot to hang out during a roll party!
Vicks vapor rub is also great to rub on each other's faces/necks while rolling so a little jar of that would be awesome.
I've got a roll of this reflective tape for my commuter, and have been quite pleased with it.
These are good
This gas can is way better. Great gift for my dad who was always complaining about not being able to find a decent gas can anymore.
It's called "Reflexite REF-DB Retroreflective V92 Daybright Tape", this is what I got (but different sizes): http://www.amazon.com/Reflexite-REF-DB-Retroreflective-Daybright-Tape/dp/B0041PBYM8 It reflects just as well as road signs and the heavy duty tape they put on trailers and such. Especially the white one!
Oh, and I've put it on top of a small strip of electrical tape to be able to remove it later. It sticks really hard.
This one has been very effective. It's hideous and can be seen from the street, but my day-sleeping husband isn't disturbed much anymore.
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C3SOUKM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Spray & Forget moss removal should take care of the slipperyness and the Gator Grip Traction sticks very well. I've used both on outdoor deck stairs and haven't had them un-stick over the passing of a few years.
Here's SlipDoctors version of the tape:
https://www.amazon.com/SlipDoctors-Anti-Slip-Traction-Adhesive-Walkways/dp/B01E7G1AU6
> Then they might contact a graphics shop or sign shop, and they may make one like this.

Stop signs are mostly standardized. You don't have some dude sitting there in design software drawing out letters. And it would surely be easier to just buy a sign than contact anyone.
Retroreflector with light (not even strong) from camera direction is a great solution.
Premium:
http://optitrack.com/products/motion-capture-markers/#mcp1125
Moderate:
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/486008-REG/Reflecmedia_RM_1212_Chromatte_Tape_Roll.html
example:
http://imgur.com/a/RrZwB
Budget:
Not a true retroreflector like the two above, but much large than normal solid/incident angle:
https://www.amazon.com/White-Micro-Prismatic-Sheeting-Reflective/dp/B00K2QUI3G/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1492658692&sr=8-3&keywords=retroreflective+tape
There's also more 'tactical' ones than you'll typically find in a dollar store like https://www.amazon.com/Cyalume-ChemLight-Military-Chemical-Sticks/dp/B0052ZAPXU?th=1
Alongside active lights, passive Retro-reflective tape - buy a roll and stick it inside the wheel rims and along every low tube of the trailer. It will pop and light up for any car with their headlamps on.
SRS BSNS
We use these at work. LO/TO style FTW!
someone fetch my brain coat
here you go: http://www.amazon.com/Cyalume-SnapLight-Industrial-Sticks-Duration/dp/B004NBZLJ2
Better than road flares - Spend the $10 and get a box of ChemLights (http://www.amazon.com/Cyalume-ChemLight-Military-Chemical-Duration/dp/B0052ZAPXU).
Tie a piece of string through the loop on a few of them (but don't crack them). In case of an emergency like in the article, you can crack the light to activate it and spin it in a circle (called a NATO Buzzsaw) that is VERY VERY obvious to see from a distance. It will make people stop their car well in advance. You can use other ChemLights to block off the lane the way road flares are used. If you have a passenger(s) to perform NATO Buzzsaws, it will be much safer for you to help someone that got in an accident or needs help changing a tire.

Everyone should be certified in CPR if they can; it's not as difficult as it sounds. It's ~$80 for the first 2-year certification through the American Heart Association (much cheaper than through the Red Cross) and then I believe $40 for renewals after that. The importance of CPR is not to save someone on your own, but to keep someone alive long enough for EMTs/emergency physicians to arrive.
I'd also recommend blankets in your trunk, and a first aid kit with gauze wraps in place of band-aids, preferably compression bandages. A Tourniquet is great if you know how to use it but be careful, some states have laws against using them.
These glowsticks are insanely bright and last all night. I cracked them in the middle of a crowd at WEMF and they caught people's attention even among the hordes of other glowsticks.

If you are doing that get these or these.

The last gas can you'll ever buy.
You're going to pay like a thousand bucks for that much bubble solution, plus shipping and handling. My advice would be to pick up an empty drum, a couple of buckets of liquid detergent, and a gallon of glycerin; and make it yourself in your back yard. You'd be looking at more like $250 plus shipping (particularly, you're going to save S&H on 400 pounds of water). There's lots of recipes online but you'd generally be looking at 1 part detergent to 6-8 parts water, and 1 part glycerin to 12-16 parts detergent.
7 lb 6 oz
Who DOESN'T need emergency glow sticks? There's always a glow stick emergency.
I know a few are saying to park near the back, but I actually park to the front and I've never had anyone hit my bike (knock on wood).
I know people can't see it, but yes, it gives them time to stop if they start to pull in. I've also thought about sticking one of these somewhere on my bike so I can throw it down after I park.
best sign I ever bought right here. https://www.amazon.com/No-Soliciting-Sign-Disturb-Aluminum/dp/B01C3SOUKM/ref=sr_1_28?ie=UTF8&qid=1524876301&sr=8-28&keywords=no+soliciting+sign+for+house

No test flight yet.
I haven't run into that problem with my platform yet, but it's possible that you could get a stair traction strip like this and put on the surface of the platform under where your feet would normally go.
Another possibility would be to use some type of wood stair/sealer and mix in a small amount of fine grain sand with it to give the platform some texture? I'd lean more towards the first option though.
You can get them for reasonably cheap online.
I bought a surplus military one some years ago for the industry I was working in, but it was a little better calibrated and more expensive.
I've noticed that before, I believe it's the edge of the pit and they were trying to make the outer lip of a salvage drum top look like bone. This is photo of a salvage drum and its outer plastic lip can be seen along its metal ring:
https://www.amazon.com/Eagle-1654-Blow-Molded-Lever-Lock-Capacity/dp/B000LDEP0C
More of the lip section is shown from 10:40 to 11:00 and then from 11:09 to 11:14. The melted plastic can be seen on the lower piece from 11:20 to 11:24 then again 11:31. At 11:31, inside the lipped section, the raised support sections are visible. If you look to the right side of Exhibit 175, to the left of the wire pile & seat remains, you'll find the outer metal ring of the drum:
http://www.stevenaverycase.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Dassey-Exhibit-175.jpg
The outer metal ring also appears in Exhibit 169:
https://www.amazon.com/Eagle-1654-Blow-Molded-Lever-Lock-Capacity/dp/B000LDEP0C
Another popular, inexpensive unit is the GQ GMC-320-Plus.
I bought three sets of these, three of these main 950lmn a roll of 3m and a couple cams
I got one of these signs, and it might just be coincidence, but since I put it up a couple months ago, I have had ZERO uninvited people come to my door, where before I'd have third-party energy shillers/clean water people/public radio fundraisers/etc at least a couple times a month (and that was just during non-business hours when I happened to be home).
Ya it's pretty thin for most dust collection. You could always buy the galvanized metal can which would be beefy and not too expensive. There's a HDPE one I bought which is around $35 on Amazon but is probably like x5 the thickness and no issue with the 3HP DC system. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LDEP0C/
Put This on your bike, Helmet and anything else it will stick to
Maybe this one ?
I just use this, and it's worked great for us for 3 years. Used to have JWs at my door every Sunday.
Just got it on Amazon - if you're looking for V92 they've got all the colors, for example:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0041PBYM8
But if you search around on the site I linked to, there are lots of stores that sell all of the other types as well.
This is the one i used. I dont think theres any way it will collapse. Very heavy duty
https://www.amazon.com/Cyalume-Military-ChemLight-SnapLight-Lightsticks/dp/B00CJI6T4M
Yep, https://www.amazon.com/Cyalume-Military-ChemLight-SnapLight-Lightsticks/dp/B00CJI6T4M
Now why he'd have it in his paintball kit, I don't know. Unless maybe he did night games.
I found this long nose marker very helpful when shadowing some of the drawers in my tool box. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002NQPEE6/
Also, fresh box cutters helped greatly.
You could always make shadowed socket holders out of Kaizen foam and place the sockets exactly where you want them. You can use a hot knife, long thin razor knife and/or a hole saw kit to make cut-outs for your sockets.
A wood burning kit like THIS works great on the foam for making finger grip holes and for cleaning up the bottoms of shadowed spots that are less than the thickness of the foam.
FastCap's long nose permanent markers are great for marking out the patterns of your sockets or other tools for you to cut on.

Just my two cents.
These can be really handy. I have one in my car. http://www.amazon.com/17-Lighted-Collapsible-Traffic-Cone/dp/B003SFBNTG (and no, no one has ever moved it from where I placed it.)
Hoth Snow Monster much?
I ain't no damn clown
Thanks for the contest! :-D
I believe the cyclone dust collector recommends a container >90 mil. I've been looking to set up a dust collector my self and was thinking of using this or this one. If you look at the comments you'll see photos of other peoples set ups.
Stencil covered in a retro reflective material will do it. Would need a low power flash zoomed in to limit spil, have the flash below the lens aiming slightly up so the light doesn't spill; that would cover the glowing stick figure. Then take the flash and hit the man from the different angles. Keep camera on tripod.
Reflexite REF-DB Retroreflective V92 Daybright Tape: 2 in. x 15 ft. (Silver-White) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0041PBYM8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_n5-QybMYKJ0G7
This has done the trick for me. At this point, my fade is complete, and I've realized I don't even care if they come to my house... but I've literally seen them walk up, see the sign (above the doorbell) and turn and walk away. It's pretty great.
I think the faraday peasant-cap really captures the dystopian feel of this issue.
See if you can purchase a cheep gygercounter on amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/GQ-GMC-320Plus-Fulfill-Radiation-Equipment/dp/B00I8GQ1EC/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?keywords=Geiger+Counters&qid=1567633900&s=gateway&sr=8-6
I want these for my camping/survival kit, and I think they fit the requirements perfectly.
The same retailer also sells a Digital Geiger counter
Like this?
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31AW-NZQ0cL.jpg
For glow sticks, you can also find something like this
Used a long marker, and angled it in maybe 20 degrees. Traced everything, then used a utility knife with a fresh blade and cut straight down. Peeled the majority of the material back with my fingers, Kaizen foam has layers you can peel back, but it won't come out in that layer perfectly clean. Test fit everything, cut away more where needed, in small increments because I wanted it super clean looking. Once I got the outline exactly how I wanted it, took a dremel with an abrasive stone head, and pointed it straight down and used it to clean up the lumpy, messy, bottom. Even punching straight down to remove material (especially for the magazine slots this was necessary) it was very effective. Just had to be careful with it, and it worked like a charm! Cleaned up the corners with some careful exacto knife work.

I think this is a better Geiger Counter instrument, also available on Amazon at half the cost. Comes with NIST calibration too.

I put this exact sign up - works great....even so good I didn't say a word at the lady coming by at 7pm in the middle of the week to do a survey that I just walked past her out my door and pointed at the sign she clearly missed. Walked back by her and closed my door...learn to read stupid!
