I use a paper tape machiene that spits out wetted glue tape. It is what amazon and every other company use. I save about .03/box by using it as it only takes 1 piece. The big guys wouldn't use it if it wasn;t the cheepest and the best.

EDIT: I have this one http://www.amazon.com/Better-Pack-BET333-Lever-Dispenser/dp/B003VYZ54S/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1427765987&sr=8-7&keywords=paper+tape+dispenser but there are non fancy manual ones for less that $100

Well I know there's an option to not have the receipt print out (I don't have it), but the #000 size is the smallest I ever use, and it is for the reason you mentioned (labels don't go any smaller). What I recommend though if you do a lot of shipping, buy this tape dispenser and just use 3 strips of the clear 2in tape. It makes the bubble mailer extremely secure for very little cost. It also protects the label against weather and damage. I've sent out over ten thousand packages this way and feel its by far the best mix of safety/cost efficiency for sending coins and paper money.

Pro-tip from someone who had to use a similarly shattered iphone for a few months before her contract was ready to be renewed: tell your friend to cover the phone in that clear packing tape (like this) to prevent getting shards of glass in your hands/cheeks. Worked perfectly!

Organization is key. If you’re looking for a tape dispenser, here’s what I have. I love having 2 tape sizes handy (even if I don’t use scotch tape much) plus pens/markers/scissors.

Getting a thermal label printer changed my game. No more cutting and taping, no more running out of ink. Peel stick go. I have the zebra 2844 and love it. Check out eBay for a deal on a used one.

Not a thing, but learning to keep work and life separate sometimes. My wife and I both love reselling, and it takes up most of our time because of it, but taking a day to veg out and binge a Netflix show we’ve been meaning to catch up on is important too. Helps you recharge and reboot, ready to tackle it all again.

it would have to be a tie.. between the snail tape dispenser and the snail retractable measuring tape

u/ruindd · 2 pointsr/Frugal

I've wondered the same thing, it seems like a zero-sum game sometimes.

Sometimes I have to let go of the "being super frugal" and remember, this is so much more convenient, practical, and takes up less space...so it's okay to do. Here's an example. I try to always have a small roll of packing tape (2" wide clear) because it's so useful. I use it when mailing things (duh), sealing up opened bags that won't be used for a while, and a lot of other random things. The roll I get is on a little dispenser like this, so it can easily fit in a drawer but still has a handy dispenser. Our current roll is nearly run out, so I while I was at the store earlier I was going to pick up another roll. A larger roll (and larger dispenser) is a lot cheaper to buy and would be more functional, but would take up way too much space to store. So I sat there for about 3 mins thinking, "but this tape is cheaper with a better dispenser..." before I finally convinced myself, "this is all we need, we don't need a giant dispenser, even if it would save us $2 a roll".

The same goes with a lot of stuff we can get at costco. I don't need 2 x 2L bottles of extra virgin olive oil, I can pay 50 cents more per Liter at the grocery store and not have to worry about storing 2 large bottles.

I have a hard time with the tools thing though. I do all my own work on our car right now, but I know once we move to a smaller apartment that we probably won't have enough (any) garage space to really work on a car. For the time being, buying a $30 tool is still cheaper than going to a mechanic, so it makes sense. But eventually I don't know what I'll do with all of them i'm slowly accumulating.

EDIT: I also hate borrowing tools (or anything really), I don't know why, I just don't like it.

For tape dispensers, I highly recommend this item

https://www.amazon.com/MARSH-2-Bench-Tape-Dispenser/dp/B00DLCUNRO/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=duck+tape+dispensers&qid=1568461230&sprefix=duck+tape+d&sr=8-5

I absolutely love this thing and consider it a key part of my flipping toolset. If it broke today (which it won't because it is a solid piece of metal) I'd buy a replacement immediately.

This is something that I have loved for a long time. Maybe you'll like it too. It's the next best thing in desk decoration couture.

Personally I like to get these small labels and write my info in small sharpie. Then I will cover them with transparent scotch tape. This way the label never comes off, but also it isn't hanging off the cable or anything like those zip tie ones.

u/housemouse · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

its really not very exciting, but I really need scotch tape I've been stealing it from my roommates for months. hahah

Let's celebrate!

Well naturally you'd need [a tutu] (http://www.amazon.com/Leg-Avenue-Organza-Tutu-Neon/dp/B004282W2A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945117&sr=8-1&keywords=pink+tutu), and matching [knee high socks] (http://www.amazon.com/Large-Baseball-Softball-Athletic-All-Sport/dp/B009K7ALK8/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945225&sr=8-6&keywords=pink+knee+high+socks).

But after that, I'd go with [a tape dispenser] (http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Dispenser-Magic-Inches-C30-SHOE-H/dp/B0086ZL1E0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945343&sr=8-1&keywords=pink+office+supplies), [post-its] (http://www.amazon.com/Post--Pop-up-Notes-Dispenser-3-Inch/dp/B004JCT47U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945343&sr=8-3&keywords=pink+office+supplies), [hole punch] (http://www.amazon.com/Swingline-3-Hole-Paper-Manual-S7099901/dp/B004OQ84N6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945343&sr=8-4&keywords=pink+office+supplies), [paper clips] (http://www.amazon.com/Officemate-Breast-Cancer-Awareness-08908/dp/B0040FFNXK/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945343&sr=8-9&keywords=pink+office+supplies), [stapler] (http://www.amazon.com/SilverHooks-Pink-Crystal-Stapler/dp/B005XE5KLM/ref=sr_1_25?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945385&sr=8-25&keywords=pink+office+supplies), and absolutely 1000000000% [this calculator] (http://www.amazon.com/Amico-Yellow-Keypad-Electronic-Calculator/dp/B00ARBUXOU/ref=sr_1_135?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945506&sr=8-135&keywords=pink+office+supplies).

Because pink is the new black . That's why. :b

You haven't lived until you've tried the superior and cheaper Red and Lightweight Scotch Dispenser.

u/onenightstands · 1 pointr/discgolf

I haven't had all that much experience throwing glow discs, but my friend just bought one and we were going to test it soon.

However, I have used these on just about every disc I have and they work great. Some DX and D discs are too opaque for the LED to shine through the plastic, but Z, Champ, most Star, R-Pro, some ESP, Opto, Gold, and Tournament plastic all work well, some better than others. (IE. Champ, Opto, Z...)

You have to tape these little LEDs on and I recommend this tape to affix them with. It is a bit more stretchy and sticky than regular packing tape, it is also stronger making it not rip into pieces when you take the LEDs off.

I use three pieces overhanging about an inch on all sides of the LED right in the the middle. I have thrown a disc with one of these LEDs taped on with the tape I mentioned into water where it was fully submerged, and it still works to this day.

I just use one of these.

I get to keep my fingers for use for the rest of the year that way.

Ediy: and yes I just realized that sounds like I mean I'm only keeping my fingers until New Years. Oh well.

The one pictured is holding scotch tape, but it fits a standard masking tape roll
