Love these shoes and these shoes. I get compliments on the second ones all the time.
I also really like low profile casual belt
Allen Edmonds McAllisters
Fuck I can't spend that much on shoes.
Not really denim, but I assume you guys will know the answer. So I want some black moc toe wedge oxfords, and I'm wondering if these Red Wings are worth the extra $20 over these Chipps. I'm planning on gettin' the Wings cause they're known for quality but I'm just wondering the main differences. Edit: ignore my first few words. I thought this was /r/rawdenim.

Or cheaper with 20% off code. Really nice price on these classic oxfords.
Pasadena also available for $43.42 or less:

I love my Clarks. Great gum rubber sole. I stand and walk in them all day.

Also, I really like my Cole Haan lunar grandes. The ones I have actually have Nike soles, but for some reason I think thy broke ties with Nike. Still they have a nice athletic sole on a dress shoe. Although wing dings aren't for everyone.

Just go to like old Navy and pick up a button down shirt that fits well. Maybe in a simple pattern like gingham or something ( the squares) And I can't stress fits well enough, get slim fit if you can for a more modern look. And don't just grab one that is the same size as the t shirts you wear, grab that size and a size down and try them on. And you don't need to tuck this in, it's really not necessary.
As for pants, just wear a pair of dark wash blue jeans or some black denim. Make sure to wear a belt if needed, you don't want to sag your pants at the restaurant (or ever in my opinion).
And finally shoes. I wouldn't wear a super nice pair of shoes but maybe something a little smarter than sneakers, maybe something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XTFN358/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_sq0IAbPHBG2H4
I can't vouch for those specific shoes, but I've got a very similar styled pair and they go great with jeans and a button up.
Just don't wear something that you won't feel comfortable in, these are just some simple, slightly dressier, casual clothes. You aren't going to be the best dressed at the restaurant or anything, but you will feel good for slightly dressing up, and if it all fits well, you'll look great and your date WILL notice.
I think you would do well with some Beckman shoes.
Red Wings Beckman Heritage Oxfords, not boots, in black
Honestly I can justify spending a lot on oxfords, not boots, because I wear them to work (business-casual, slacks and button-up with no tie). I like that these are black leather oxfords that aren't too formal (the laces and the brown sole). But I think that combination (along with the price) is why these are incredibly unpopular. Or maybe they'll just look silly, I'm hoping someone will tell me if that's the case.
These
Got them at DSW, lasted a good year with near daily wear.
Kudos to him for wanting to improve his personal style and for you in helping him to do so! Here's my take:
Miscellaneous:
Tan or Brown Oxfords look really good with Navy suits.
Tan Oxfords
Which would look something like this
Cole Haan, Allen Edmonds
They aren't boots. They are Redwing Work Oxfords. The ones you linked are the Maize Abilene color.

Thinking about buying these. But then again, I'm not sure how it'll look in person. But then again I like getting Packages from Amazon.
Looking for a dressier shoe for nights out/dates. I'm planning on wearing them with chinos or dark wash jeans. I've narrowed it down to these 4, and I'd like some help choosing.

These are Sebago Wicklow Penny Loafers, I bought them on sale on amazon here - the colour is called "cognac"

Looking for advice on:
I also go the gym 5 days a week to do lifting workouts (PPLx2), and looking to change my cheap shoes, I tend to walk a long distance from my house to the gym, any recomendation here as well?
I'm considering getting wolverine 1000 mile oxfords in tan a.k.a. natural. I'm wondering if I should be going for something a little more "classic". Also, not a huge fan of the branding near the back. that being said, seems like a cool, casual, quality derby.
Should I / Shouldn't I ?
I'm not talking about the lacing. The shoes you linked to are not oxfords. They have open lacing and are therefore derbies/bluchers.
How far into the future are we talking? And for roughout or would some red wing fullgrain leather qualify?
I have a pair of these and they have served me well. I tend to wear them around once a week, maybe more depending on the season. I think they look great. I've only had them for 10 months, however, so I can't speak more in terms of longevity.
Brockton is the bulkiest of the three, and buckinghams are hard to find (in stores at least, in my experience); I don't think they're making them any more, or at least they're not making as many. I have the taupe pasadenas and they're great. $56 on Amazon + 20% off if you sign up for the shoes newsletter. Same applies to buckinghams and they come in the same color, but for $67 instead.
I think they're slightly nicer, but I don't know how.
I'm looking for some versatile casual/ business casual shoes. Which would you choose out of these three, or do you have a similar option that might be better for me? I'd mostly be wearing them with jeans or chinos.
Bass Buckingham
Bass Pasadena
Bass Brockton
They're a bit above your price range, but I love these Bass classic bucs.
They are suede though. I'm not sure what the weather is like in Toronto, but I don't think you're supposed to go puddle-jumping in suede.
Clark Jink
Can I wear these Bass Oxfords with a Navy Brooks Brothers suit? http://www.amazon.com/Bass-Mens-Buckingham-Oxford-Petrol/dp/B00F4C6PE4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1410477717&sr=8-2&keywords=bass+oxford
Can anyone reccommend a nicer pair of oxfords?
What's the stretching process like? I've never really played around with shoe width; Ds have always just worked so I haven't questioned or tried other things.
Also, is "tan" the same as the listed "taupe" on Amazon?
Are Bass Buckinghams decent travel shoes? They do have a (partially) rubber sole, seemed pretty comfortable when I tried them on in a store, and look good, but I'm wondering how they'd stand up to walking long distances everyday.
Two shoe questions:
Just bought these L.L. Bean suede Jackman Blucher mocs, but had to get them in a size 10 because everything smaller is out of stock, and their customer service says they won't be restocking the smaller sizes. It fits a little loose when barefoot. Keep or return? Won't they stretch and become looser with more wear?
Also just bought a pair of Bass Pasadena Oxfords. A 9.5 was a bit tight, so I exchanged for a 10, which feels a little loose with thin socks. Tying them tight helps a little. Should I go back to the 9.5 and hope they stretch?
I'm new to dressing like an adult, so I'm transitioning from just wearing chucks or Adidas Dragons all the time. I'm not sure how these are supposed to feel on my feet.
Update: I did some research, and here are more specifics of what I'm looking for. Thanks to everyone for your help!
I've already checked out the following:
The closest I found were these Asos shoes but they don't have my size.
Second choice of what I've seen would be these Cole Haan wingtips, but I just don't love how ornate wingtips are.
Edit: Formatting
I just recently got a pair of Sebago Campsides off amazon and I love them. They are blucher mocs and probably not exactly what you are looking for, but they are versatile and beautiful.
Maybe something like the Cole Haan Lunargrands? It's an Oxford with a Nike insole. This is what they look like.
Many people have said they they prefer the McAllisters. If I were to get a pair of these, which shade of brown would you recommend for my first pair? I want some that go with a wide variety of clothes.
thanks ! now which one do you recommend more? and do you have one by any chance ?

Hey guys, here's a question. How do you differentiate wearing medium/dark brown shoes to bright brown? My thinking is that darker shades are much more versatile.
Also these could be a great option. Just looked at /r/frugalmalefashion and these came up. Looks like they're running a sale but just a hair above your budget...
Looking to buy two pairs of shoes...which fits the bill for a college student to wear casually with jeans?
Thinking of the classic beeswax clark db's
and maybe some oxford's like these?
(This isn't them either)[http://www.amazon.com/Clarks-JINK-Mens-Jink-Oxford/dp/B0040GNAJ8/ref=pd_sbs_shoe11], but mebbe getting little closer?
I suck at formatting--am leaving this as it is as evidence of my public shame.
Anyone have any experience with Bass Suede Bucks or similar as an alternative to J. Crew's Kenton Suede? How is the color, fit, quality?

A while back, I purchased these shoes in natural color. They've gotten a bit scuffed and I would like to use some oil to condition them. Would this oil/conditioner work on them?
Tried this as a post and it got removed. Looking for a new pair of shoes/boots for work that work well in most situations. see details below.
I'm a 30yo living and working in NJ/NYC and would like to get a pair of shoes that will look good in most settings. In work I'm usually either in a cubicle or at jobsites as an engineer/project manager in construction. Out of work I'm usually at friend's homes or bars. For a while I've been thinking about getting a pair of Amber Iron Rangers, but lately I've been thinking I might be better off with shoes instead boots since I don't need the ankle support, rarely have to trudge through mud, and never really liked the affectation of rolling up the cuffs on my jeans.
What's a good pair that will go well with jeans as well as chinos?
Initially I thought about getting either the Wolverine 1Ks in Cordovan or preferably the Red Wing Iron Rangers in Amber. I like how the latter looks with a bit of wear and proper maintenance (I like them slightly shiny).
Lately I've been thinking about getting lower cut shoes with the same level of workmanship since they'll still be fine for jobsites and I don't need the ankle support. I like the way the Wolverine 1K Watsons in Brown look and less so the Red Wing Beckman Oxford in Brick Settler or the brown pair I saw on Amazon.
TLDR; Would like to get a simple yet good looking pair of shoes that are good for both day to day social and work environment living in the Northeast. I'll be wearing jeans and chinos. Any suggestions or recommendations on the shoes/boots or their upkeep in this climate would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help!
Thank you for the guidance. I am hesitant to wear penny loafers to school, but I value your insight over mine. I am thinking of going with a minimalist/casual cognac penny. I think they will last longer but serve a similar role to drivers. Right now I'm looking at these: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EOGWDU6/ref=twister_B00EOGWCBG
or maybe these: http://www.amazon.com/Sperry-Top-Sider-Leeward-Sahara-Loafer/dp/B00SIZZC5W/ref=sr_1_13?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1458581192&sr=1-13&nodeID=679313011&keywords=penny+loafers
Thanks. Found them on amazon
I've run in these. Not marathons but running. Rubber sole.

Classy: (Weekdays) You can't go wrong with Allen Edmonds, you just can't.
http://www.amazon.com/Allen-Edmonds-Strand-Perfing-Walnut/dp/B001TDL06A
Middle: Desert boots as mentioned already.
Relaxed: (Weekends, after work shoes) My personal favorite pair of boots; the blue is kinda a fun look.

I sing in a choir and we wear black dress pants/shirt with a tie and black (dress) shoes.
Could I wear black AE McAllister Wingtips with that? Or would it be too informal? (versatility to wear with more formal suits would be nice, but not essential)
If it helps I'm a 21 year old male.
I really like the Bass buckingham bucs: http://www.amazon.com/Bass-Mens-Buckingham-Classic-Taupe/dp/B002LZTGE8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1420084392&sr=8-1&keywords=bass+buckingham
Dude, they're not all bad!
Check out the Air Giraldos. They look just like any other pair of wingtips, but they're all day comfortable.
http://www.amazon.com/Cole-Haan-Air-Madison-Wing/dp/B005G2E1MU
I teach, so I'm on my feet all day and need shoes that fit a suit on a budget. I've been pretty happy with with Dockers Wingtips.
http://www.amazon.com/Dockers-Moritz-Mens-Wingtip/dp/B00BRGYLK6
They're comfortable and the price is right. You might be able to use the 20% off promo too. Some people have complained that the color fades, but I haven't had that issue.
