Until your baby starts grabbing things and opens the safety pin and pokes themselves. But when they are super tiny and new this might be ok. I wouldn’t recommend it though.

Here’s a link to 6 clips for $7, they aren’t that pricy if you’re on a budget, and much more safe than a safety pin on a baby.

You can even just buy a bunch of clasps pretty cheap and use the yarn then:

We got a bubble gun confiscated going in to centeroo once. But we had 3 back ups and got all those in fine.

I started using suspended clips like these to hang tapestries, and they held up on a VERY windy day at hulaween. I tied paracord to the loop of the clip and tied that to the EZ up

u/edb1821 · 5 pointsr/bonnaroo

I attach mine with large binder clips at the top - fold the top of the tapestry over the canopy frame and then clip it down - the bar of the frame fits thru the clip - it works beautifully!

You will need something for the bottom too, cuz the wind will blow the tapestry like crazy and it doesn't do much good if it is horizontal :) I use suspender clips (These) attached to the tapestry and then hook one end of a bungee thru the loop. The other end of the bungee hooks to the hole at the bottom of the canopy leg.

Hope this helps!

When i did a trip with my kid at 18mths old (he is the same will not sleep unless in his bed usually) I had multiple items at the ready and would swap once i saw him loosing interest. Things other than the ipad that he loved, books ( he loves when you read to him), water wow books from Melissa and Doug, I got a monthly pill organizer and filled each little spot with a treat like puffs, cherrios, fruit snacks etc and he would work on opening and closing the little doors to find what was inside ( he was more excited to open and close than actually eat it). I also had his fav stuffed animal, a little bear he could work on buckles etc.
I travelled early in the morning because he is well behaved in the morning. He slept like crap the night before we returned and only the ipad would work ( i got him little headphones we practiced using so as not to annoy others) he watched the ipad for about 30 mins and i noticed he was drifting and i took him out his seat and held him as he slept all the way back ( i actually had him just sit in the airline seat and sent his carseat as baggage, i know having them in the carseat is safer so please don't judge it was what worked best for him)

Baby also hated the "bucket" style infant seat. A few things helped us:

  • Switching to a convertible seats instead of the bucket style, so he was more upright.
  • We had a crib mobile and the matching car chart entertained him for awhile.
  • This music toy clipped on with one of these bad boys so he couldn't chuck it out of his seat altogether also helped.
  • A mirror so he could see us driving is still a must-have, at 15 months.

I'd try a ribbon style pacifier clip then. May be a good intermediate. If your Nuk paci isnt a "puller" style, they have multiple styles, all with the same nipple, that allow for easier pacifier clip attachment.

I'll be eight weeks in on Tuesday, and here's what comes to mind:

  • You never can have too many burp cloths. My parents got us a couple of packs of these cloth diapers for that purpose, and they've worked great.
  • Liners for the changing table are nice, so you hopefully don't have to change the whole sheet if the kid makes a mess. We started with this three-pack, and by two or three weeks in, we bought a second three-pack.
  • Pacifier clips are useful—if your kid is inclined to spit out a pacifier several times before finally keeping it in, at least the pacifier won't fall on the floor. My in-laws got us these ones before the birth (my wife's a Packers fan and they got them at Lambeau), and I'd forgotten all about them until a couple of days in. (We also got these ones later on for times when we're tired and don't necessarily feel like pissing off everyone else here in Chicago.)
  • I'm way more of a fan of throw pillows now than I'd ever imagined I'd be. You never know exactly what will need to be propped up and how much, so it's good to have plenty of options. (I've got the kid on my shoulder now, so I've got a good-sized pillow under my elbow to support me supporting him. My wife also uses some to hold up one side of the breastfeeding pillow (the Ikea knockoff Boppy) sometimes.)
  • Sleep sacks/swaddles are a godsend. The nurses will teach you how to swaddle the kid in a blanket, but babies can be some serious escape artists. Something with Velcro or snaps or zippers can do wonders. We started off with a three-pack of these, which were great, and now that he's outgrown those, we're using a couple of these.
  • Also, get yourself and your wife some snacks and other food that you can eat (and preferably open) with one hand.

    Good luck!

I use Munchkin Arm & Hammer Pacifier Wipes. $4 for a pack of 36. They're a little smaller than the Medela ones but they get the job done just fine. They're food grade and they don't have any chemical smell to them, unlike the Medela wipes and the First Years wipes.

u/thelmick · 2 pointsr/BreastPumps

Could you use the sterilizing bags when you have a microwave available and use the wipes at other times? The Dr Brown ones are less than $4.00 and it says you can use them 20 times each bag.

If you are pumping in a client's office, and they have a microwave, this might be a good way to cut down on the number of wipes you are using.

The only other suggestion I have is try using the pacifier wipes instead. You get 36 for less than $4.00 and it says they are 100% food grade.

Someone told me about Pacifier Pouches and I love using them to carry my throws. But they only fit one (1) yoyo, so if you're wanting to fit more than one you'll need to find something else.

Ok, here are a few more!

  • For the flight: We rented a CARES harness so I didn't have to be miserable the entire flight with a squirmy worm on my lap, plus it's much safer for them to be secured. I also got her a little toddler backpack that I filled with new (cheap and small) toys that she had never seen before to keep her occupied. Also bring TONS of snacks for the plane.

  • Consider a test run with your stroller and backpack all packed out how you think you'll want it for Disney, and then go out for a day trip to your local zoo or city or whatever. It'll give you a better idea about what will actually be useful in practice.

  • Even if your kid doesn't like to be held much anymore, there will still be times when you need to hold them at Disney, and a baby carrier will really be handy. Whether you're waiting in line, waiting for fireworks, walking a semi-far distance, you might want to have a carrier handy. We have the Boba Air, which is great because it's lightweight and packs up small into it's own bag so you can store it easily when you're not using it. But your arms will thank you with a carrier, ESPECIALLY on the buses!

  • Packing cubes are really helpful for keeping all of the baby stuff organized, and also gallon ziplock bags. I packed three ziplock bags for each day of our trip: one for clothes for that day, one for snacks for that day, and one with diapers, disposable bibs, and disposable changing mats. Then I could just grab the ziplocks out of the suitcase for every day and throw them into our backpack, and at the end of the day whatever didn't get used just got tossed back into the suitcase to take home. Creates a bit more work in packing at home, but makes everything super easy at Disney. Then we used a small size packing cube for the baby stuff we'd need every day, like wipes, diaper cream, a back-up pacifier, etc., that we could easily grab in and out of the stroller/backpack. Keeping everything organized will help you not feel rushed and frazzled when you are trying to figure out what you need to bring to the parks every day.

  • These toy leash things were very helpful for keeping our daughter's sippy cup and a book or toy connected to her stroller so we didn't have to worry about her tossing anything overboard and losing it.

  • We brought a muslin blanket and a few clips to secure it to the sun shade of the stroller to block out sights and sun so our daughter could nap a bit easier. She still didn't want to nap much with all of the excitement, but it helped.

  • A stroller saddlebag can also be really helpful for storing extra things throughout the day -- uneaten snacks, purchases, stuff you want to keep easily accessible.

  • If you use white noise for your kid to sleep at home, don't wean them off until your trip! It's great in the hotel room to cut down on any outside noise and so you don't have to creep around quite as quietly as you might need to without it.

If you have specific questions feel free to ask me! I love putting our experience to good use. :)

Most of the ones I liked at had a string. I bought these. I think they're adorable, the fabric is a little silky which doesn't bother me at all. Good luck with your registry!

When I wear costumes, I use a custom badge holder I made using a simple clear badge holder and a clear KAM clip. I just cut the metal clip off and use the vinyl strap to connect them.

The badge doesn't flop around, you can put it in a lot of places, and since it's all clear it's still on display but doesn't draw the eye as much.

Just be careful, the clips are strong, but not perfect. I've never lost a badge, but it's possible if you put it on thin silk or very very thick fabric.
