I actually found them on Amazon after discovering they existed.

You'll need both the receiver and bolt handle but that's it. Came out to about $110 for both but to me it's totally worth it.

I use the adaptor for the paintball setup, I used to play paintball so had a tank, what I forgot was how easy o-rings get damaged and after a weekend of setup needed new ones to run the adaptor, messing and checking for leaks meant putting the tank on and off. Got a 100 pack of o-rings and been using that adaptor and the rather cheap wyn co2 regulator off Amazon of the same colorway.

At the price of the linked kit, I probably saved a little, piece parting only took a little time, assurance of a more expensive regulator may be a comfort, I knew how they should work and researched mechanism to know I could mess with the one I got if I had a problem.

Here. I almost bought one but decided they were too gaudy. They do look pretty sweet though. The other ones by the same company aren't as tasteful IMO.

Amazon has Dye ones on Prime. Could also get cheaper Evike ones but they may not arrive for the weekend.

Most airsoft or paintball stores will also have them.

The mask comes down a little farther than like speedball mask, but I love the damn thing.

Some other options:

  • Echo1 ASR can be converted to lefty out of the box (still don't recommend)
  • SSG24 has a lefty conversion kit
  • Action Army has a left-handed receiver and bolt kit for the VSR-10

That is a slingshot. Check out Ham Radio CQ. He has used it for portable work. [Weighted Arborist Bag] (https://www.amazon.com/Thorium-Multi-layer-Slingshot-Launcher-Arborist/dp/B0721XC6VZ/ref=sr_1_13?crid=4DZ9423GTBWO&dchild=1&keywords=arborist+slingshot+launcher&qid=1573443479&sprefix=Arborist+sli%2Caps%2C162&sr=8-13) which is what is used in the slingshot and Arborist line box which is used for the line. The box folds down very small for easy portability while the line is in it. Arborists use very colorful line and bags so they can find them easily. My home trees are not that tall but it is very easy to loose the end of the string as I tend to use black paracord.

Can you give me a recommendation on which one of those 4 are the best to avoid chopping?

As for the adapter, a search on google showed me this on amazon and it says it's a replacement part not an aftermarket part. There's also this one but it says it's for the T8 and T9, not the T15.

> Propane or any similar gas would be unfeasible, it may not provide enough expansion fast enough

This won't be a problem, especially if you're working from compressed air. Though it might necessitate a bit of engineering for the injection nozzle design. In an enclosed space, the combustion is self-accelerating, since the pressure can't go anywhere, so you get adiabatic heating in addition to the heat of combustion. You might be limited to pistol-like velocities, but for a home defense, plinking, or small-game gun, that isn't bad.

> then there is the elephant in the room of lugging around a large pressurized tank of flammable gas

It wouldn't need to be large at all. A lot of people underestimate the energy contained in hydrocarbon fuels. The amount of energy in a disposable butane lighter is equivalent to that contained in 15 rounds of 556 (compared to the powder energy). It's more than 2 full 30-round mags if you compare it to the projectile kinetic energy. A propane tank 1" in diameter and 4" long would hold enough gas for 250 rounds with a kinetic energy equivalent to a 10mm auto (~20% chemical to kinetic energy conversion efficiency).

Now, the air tank would be a different story. Something relatively small like this could work in a carbine, but would only hold enough air to combust ~4 grams of fuel, which would be ~20 shots at 10mm energy levels. Fine for casual plinking or backwoods small game hunting, but you could easily go to a tank 2-3 times that size for something that needs to be refilled less often and could hold its own in a combat situation.

You can get a LOT more out of a smaller package by using nitrous oxide instead of compressed air, since compressed N2O can combust about 8 times as much fuel for a given storage tank volume as compressed air. Even one of those 8 gram whipped-cream nitrous chargers can combust enough fuel for ~5 rounds at 10mm power level. So if you instead go to a larger tank, such as a 12oz tank (they basically use the same tanks as compressed CO2), you now have 200+ shots in that. The tradeoff is that nitrous oxide is not cheap (you'd end up paying 20~40 cents per shot), and aside from those whipped cream chargers, it's not terribly available either.

> one API round in the right spot and you haven't just taken out the guy carrying the gun but also the people close to him.

As I pointed out above, with the tank sizes we're talking about, the risk of them being hit would not be very high. Furthermore, even API rounds have a hard time igniting propane when it comes out of those tanks, so the risk would not be unreasonable.

> from an engineering standpoint a liquid is also easier to deal with than a gas

Compressed gasses pump themselves, whereas liquids require pumping mechanisms. The other benefit to using compressed gasses (or gasses compressed into liquids, such as nitrous oxide or propane) is that you can use regenerative cooling, like they have for rocket engines. Imagine a gun like an LMG that never overheated, even after 1000+ rounds of continuous fire? No need for barrel changes or ammo belts, just a satchel with fuel/oxidizer and bullets that fed in from a hopper.

TBH, I should clarify that there are really 2 avenues that I'm looking at for this idea. One is as an actual upgrade to current firearms, while the other is as a DIY "Ludy" gun that doesn't require any suspicious components. Air and propane are readily available, and such a thing could be made to fire almost any type of arbitrary projectile, so you wouldn't need brass, smokeless powder, or primers.

Instead of that paintball adapter, I'd look for something with a control valve. Like this GOG Paintball On/Off Preset Valve Adapter - Black not Prime though.

I don't use that one but rather a paintball remote coil like this one

Though personally, I wouldn't cheap out on the regulator. Pay twice and buy the co2 art from Aquarium Co-op

I'd avoid the mini versions or ones specific to paintball tanks, just in case you decide to upgrade.

/u/JanitorPants, perhaps you're looking for something like this? Black anodized aluminum.

I'm still pretty new to this but I think this is what you're looking for.

u/MyPasswordIsUnique · 1 pointr/paintball

Ok, so what I'm hearing is that I can get this and this and get the full mask?

u/Speedly · 1 pointr/airguns

Yes, but holy shit, why would you pay so much for that?

You'll need a fill station. This is the one I got for mine, and it works just fine for what I need it for.

Max pressure for that is 3000 PSI though, so if you upgrade to a 3342 tank, you shouldn't use it with that tank.

A fill whip is also a good idea. This is the one I have. It will connect directly with the QD fitting on the end of the Marauder.

With those you get a complete fill station and a longer fill hose at about half the cost of the Benjamin SCUBA adapter.

Good luck, have fun, be safe!

It's hard to say what you're actually going to get. It's always a good idea to replace the hoses, o-rings and some other smaller working parts to ensure your marker is going to function as well as it can.

Things you'll need:

  • a full set of allen/hex wrenches

  • silicone lube(don't use gun oil or WD40)

  • an Ion o-ring rebuild kit

  • an Ion hose kit, small hoses go inside the gun, bigger hose for the bottom line. ANS Gear has a internal kit. I'd go to macrolineguy.com for the bottom line hose.

  • some hose fittings

  • teflon tape for the hose fitting threads. I also like using the removable type of thread locker(blue loctite) to secure the bolts so they don't loosen. Try not to use this on the air supply fittings. It'll get in the system and ruin your pneumatics.

EDIT: Possible you'll need a new banjo or two as well. These are the smaller macroline fittings which are located inside the gun. I wonder if the gun you're looking at has a QEV upgrade?
