Well, there's also a $6 solution.
I kid.
If you guys can pool ~$30 you can get a Chessex Battlemat and some wet erase markers. It'll be just a little bigger than (what I'm guessing is) 8.5x11 and just as functional/reuseable as your option.
Something that tells me they might be.
I used these, pretty cheap on amazon.

The core material EDC, to me would be knife, light and cellphone. But cool keychain gidgets are really nice too.
So I'd say if you have a knife, a good flashlight would be next, then a backup knife and light (one is none, two is one). I like a multi-tool or SAK for my backup knife, and a keychain light for my backup torch.
(In case you're curious, after that I start considering footwear, gloves, hats and other clothing.)
(Sorry, I'm feeling a bit lazy, so you'll have to live with bare links.)
This one is pretty popular for keychain use: www.amazon.com/iTP-A3-EOS-Flashlight--Upgrade/dp/B006K5C2EG/
Fenix has single AA and 123 powered lights that are well regarded and compact:
AA: http://www.amazon.com/Fenix-E11-Compact-Lumen-Flashlight/dp/B005GW8UC2
CR123: www.amazon.com/Fenix-Compact-140-Lumen-Flashlight/dp/B005CWRB44
There are a lot of other brands worthy of consideration too, of course (Fourseven's mini, Jetbeam, Klarus, Zebra, just to name a few).
There are also a lot of much larger but more capable flashlights out there.
Keychain stuff is always nice:
I use these sliver grippers way more than I thought I would. The convenience of always having them around is unparalleled: http://www.amazon.com/UNCLE-BILLS-SLIVER-GRIPPER-TWEEZER/dp/B001KMSUA4
I've been thinking of getting this, I'm a little leery about that much stuff for so little cost though: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003A5E5IK
I love this style of keyring, but it's way cheaper on eBay: http://www.amazon.com/Vigilant-Gear-Aircraft-Cable-Ring/dp/B006ZSP1PA
Little one-piece keychain tools have become really popular, and I really like having a little prying and screwing tool always present.
The Gerber Shard is cheap but probably at least worth what you pay for it: http://www.amazon.com/Gerber-22-01769-Shard-Keychain-Tool/dp/B002ZK45IQ
This one has a bit more functionality, and is made of the magically delicious titanium: http://www.amazon.com/Schrade-Chain-Tool-Seatbelt-Cutter/dp/B004PQJ1QO
Keychain multi-tools can be good.
Here's one from Gerber: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006M9NIDO
Supposedly the build quality isn't as good as Leatherman's though: http://www.amazon.com/Leatherman-64010101K-Micra-Multi-tool/dp/B000JCN0FG
I'd also recommend looking for a glow in the dark lanyard.
A pen you can EDC is another "you're surprised how often you use it" item. I have an Inka and it's definitely alright, though a bit fiddly: http://www.amazon.com/Nite-Ize-Inc-Inka-Pen/dp/B001E6R6EM/
The biggest competitor is the classic Fisher Bullet Space Pen: http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Space-Pen-Bullet-400B/dp/B000WGD13U
Something to write on is nice. I'm a real child of the digital age, but I still like having an analog recording medium on me. I prefer Pentalic's pocket size books to Moleskine's. They're a little thicker, but they have a flexible cover, and are usually cheaper. Here's one: http://www.amazon.com/Pentalic-Travelers-Sketch-3-Inch-4-Inch/dp/B0025TZ35Q but I don't know if it's ruled or grid or what. I also prefer a bright color cover to make it easy to spot.
Continuing on the writing stuff matter, a sharpie and/or a metallic (ink) sharpie are nice to have. You can get sharpies with stainless steel cases too, which feel nicer to hold, and you're a little less likely to forget somewhere.
Black (dozen): http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006IFEP
Stainless Steel: http://www.amazon.com/Sharpie-Stainless-Permanent-Marker-1747388/dp/B001V9LQLG
Metallic: http://www.amazon.com/Sanford-39108PP-Metallic-Sharpie-Permanent/dp/B00119QWCO
I think everybody should carry some sort of bandanna. I carry an off-brand buff (tubular bandanna) and an olive drab shemagh.
I like to carry a small baggie of what I call MacGuyver goods. Paracord (bound up in a hanayawa right now), some gorilla tape and electrical tape wrapped around a card, super glue, a sewing kit, zip ties, twist ties, rubber bands, safety pins, binder clips, and a few 1 quart ziplock freezer bags. (Like hell I'm finding links for all of those.)
Yet another "surprising how useful it turns out to be" item is a small mirror: http://www.amazon.com/Coghlans-Featherweight-Mirror/dp/B0047QV44O/
Whistles are useful for warning people of fire or danger, or calling for help, so I like to carry one: http://www.amazon.com/Fox-40-Whistle-Breakaway-Lanyard/dp/B00544UJC6
A monocular is fun to have on your person. This particular model is really great because of its super low minimum focusing distance, which lets you use it as a sort of loupe. In regular mode it's good for looking for house numbers or your car in a parking lot, that sort of thing: http://www.amazon.com/Brunton-Echo-7x18-Pocket-Scope/dp/B000FKMTBS
I think that's all I could come up with off the top of my head.
Have you tried the Uni Jetstream Premier? I've had one for a couple of years and it's been great.
http://www.amazon.com/uni-ball-Jetstream-Premier-Retractable-1741766/dp/B001PV13JK
I'd look at the Microline Pens. This is just one of the many assortment packs out there. I use them for eyes, but jeeze, I should try them out for lips and other details that I struggle with.

I've sold a ton and bought a ton over the years on CL. I'm reluctant to let people in my house but for amps and guitars, I figured it was sort of necessary. I've bought from other people this way as well. When people come over, I have the gear near the front of my house so they don't go all through my house to get to my guitar room. I should probably consider the guitar center approach but have been careless and lazy and just have them come over. I've been lucky so far but if I were giving advice to myself, I'd say try to meet at a guitar shop or something.
Alternatively, if you had an adapter for your car, you might be able to plug a small amp in and test it somewhere in public.
I have always dealt in cash. For large bills, I got one of these to make sure I wasn't getting fake bills:
http://smile.amazon.com/Sharpie-1778830-Counterfeit-Detector-Marker/dp/B0042ET0LU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452111105&sr=8-1&keywords=counterfeit+pen
I use Ebay to gauge prices. I look only at sold listings in the past few months to see what range the item is actually selling for (including shipping). I look at about the lowest price it has sold for and that's the highest I'll pay for something. It's also about where I start pricing my item. Generally, local sales are less expensive than Ebay. If you want the best money, you sell on Ebay and take the hit with their charges. The net for the seller is about the same, the buyer gets a break buying locally.
If my local market is flooded with the item I'm selling (I had an amp last year and there were 2 others of the exact same model not selling in my local CL), I'll list it on Ebay instead.
That's all my advice. good luck!
They don't. I used a wet-erase chalk marker on them. It's waterproof and sort of soaks into the tires.
Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005OS9J8W/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1509719403&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=chalk+ink+markers&dpPl=1&dpID=31NYKMx%2BR7L&ref=plSrch
I use pretty fine tipped markers to color them. They are very detailed and fine, so using a paint brush would be difficult for me. Specifically, I use these. I recently bought a new set because I lost a couple from my original set, but I bought my original set in 1998. And they still work great. Amazing.
There's certain things re: control that you can learn in singing class. Also, the vocal exercises are good for extending your range and whatnot. I do have vibrato, and I have pretty good control of it. I can ramp it up, or back it down, or cut it out completely. I'm not sure of the biomechanics of it, actually. I've just been practicing with it for a really long time. Honestly, when people don't control it very well, it tends to sound really awful to me. "NEEDS MORE TRAINING," my inside voice screams.
This bit is interesting from Wikipedia:
In the apparatus there are three different voice vibrato processes that occur in different parts of the vocal tract. Peter-Michael Fischer vibrato types defined by place of production:
I never thought about it as being so precise. I appreciate that you enjoy singing, though. It can be quite relaxing. :)
Sharpie pen, not to be confused with the Sharpie ultra fine permanent markers. They are not the same ink as the permanent markers, but do have the same ultra fine point. They do not bleed, and they write like a dream. I have shitty handwriting, and these pens make it legible.
https://www.amazon.com/Sharpie-Permanent-Markers-Assorted-24-Count/dp/B019QBPDSM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1504839928&sr=8-4&keywords=sharpies
Yes. You will.
I had a very unique style of notes, but here's what worked best for me:
So in my junior year I realized that I hated carrying around hundreds of pages of blank paper all the time and so I only printed up about ten pages of note paper at a time. I found a template for Cornell style notes and just printed out my own note paper each week. The multicolored pens worked great for me because I could look back and my notes would all be organized. For example, raw notes were in black, equations in blue, examples in green, questions in red, and anything related to an exam was in every color. Then, I just followed the Cornell note-taking style for note review and it worked out great for me. I had well-organized notes (that people often asked for) and never had to lug around pounds of blank paper that I wasn't going to use.
tl;dr- colored pens for unique note items and self-printed Cornell notes
You can find more links to an example of how I took notes, as well as a link to a printable PDF for Cornell note paper here
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0026HL1EO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Occasionally had a problem keeping the writing straight when going across deeper grooves, but never any issues with bleeding. I really like the spraypaint idea though, seems like it would be a much cleaner finished product.
Chalk pen/marker yo. Get with the times.
Just don't get it on your pants...
that shit never comes off pants.

These are what i use, i think they need to be wet erase markers but please double check me.
So far these markers work great.
"No, THIS is a Sharpie!"
I've always used the industrial sharpies (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006IFEP) Both ends, once as close to the boot as possible, and once about 9in up the length of it.
It's awfully permanent though, so if you need to re-label you're basically hosed.
srs - [these](http://www.Sharpie.com/ Color Burst Permanent Markers, Fine Point, Assorted Colors, 24-Count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019QBPDSM/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_oj1HybG249JBF) look pretty close, & <$10!
I love drawing. These Sharpie Pens would be fucking AWESOME.
I love drawing with regular pens, but sharpie pens are the best. They possess some magical quality that make ANYTHING you draw look adorable/epic at the same time. If Jesus was an artist, I shit you not that he would have drawn with Sharpie Pens.

This?
These would make my day easier
I am a full time grad student, but in my downtime I do leather working. Sharpies are great for leather working as they don't smudge and show up even on darker leather. :)
Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike I really need these because all of mine have been stolen by my husband and friends!
Winter is coming
Everyone should have these especially if your artsy
I've never read any of these nor watch the series so I would love to give a try, I'm gonna admit I'm not a reader for fun kinda guy but I'd finished every book I picked up :)
Thanks for having the contest so nice of you thinking of us :)
Definitely try those first. They're pretty easy to find online, and cost a buck or two apiece where the others start around six.
http://www.amazon.com/Sharpie-13801-Industrial-Extra-Fine-Permanent/dp/B00006IFEP
here you go http://www.amazon.com/Sharpie-1778830-Counterfeit-Detector-Marker/dp/B0042ET0LU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409003831&sr=8-1&keywords=counterfeit+pen+detector
Sharpie makes metallic paint markers that make metal edging super easy. Use the normal metalic markers, not the paint ones.

Also a shot of alcohol like 20 minutes before painting and every hour or so after can help with the shaking. Fun fact, alcohol in a limited amount is a performance enhancing drug in competitive shooting because of its effects on steadying your hands.
But the sharpies work great. Youtube metallic sharpies 40k for some tutorials.

To start off, check out the Uniball Jetstream Premier or the UniballJetstream Alpha.
I recommend this because of numerous reviews that support the Jetstream as one of the smoothest/best writing pens available. The ink dries almost immediately and the ink soaks into the page (Uniball says that this is good for signing important documents and avoids forgery), but the ink doesn't leak through. I think these are definitely worth checking out, I have the cheaper plastic cap version and it writes well.
If you prefer a different aesthetic but want that Jetstream ink, you will have to look into whether certain pens accept certain ink cartridges.
Edit: I'll also add the Parker Jotter as well. It's /r/pens approved and it looks more professional than the Jetstreams.
The most common brand of permanent marker is probably the Zebra fine oil-based marker: https://www.amazon.co.jp/ZEBRA-%E3%82%BC%E3%83%96%E3%83%A9-ZEB137-%E6%B2%B9%E6%80%A7%E3%83%9E%E3%83%BC%E3%82%AB%E3%83%BC-%E3%83%9E%E3%83%83%E3%82%AD%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B1%E3%82%A2%E8%B6%85%E6%A5%B5%E7%B4%B0-%E9%BB%92/dp/B007QAIQV2 Not sure where you can pick it up outside Japan though. I attend a fashion college in Tokyo and this is also the main brand we carry at school.
Pens dry out eventually. That can cause the uneven coverage.
The pens look kinda like [pentel color pens ](Pentel Color Pen, Set of 36, Assorted (S360-36) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001E6F108/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ZFAEybC30B4EV). They come in different sized sets depending on how many colors you want. I have a set that is 10 years old and stored properly still works great. I Store my pens laying down flat (not standing up in a cup) and in a plastic bin with a lid.
I have recommended these to many people for a first marker set. Everyone has been happy so far.
The have bright vibrant colors and fine tips for getting good detail.

I'm sorry for your loss. Those anniversaries are always tough but just take some time to remember all the good times. <3
Though it's not technically for building, some fine-point markers (like this 8 pack, though I have a few I've been looking at) would do wonders for helping me improve my artwork since I'd be able to add so many details to my drawings that I just can't do with my wider-tipped points.
CONGRATULATIONS! We should celebrate! Maybe pop in a joyous musical or check off all the things you are good at or we could just go nuts and color all over everything!
Lol I used this as a weird wishlist madlibs assignment. I had fun. Thanks :) I'm waiting to hear back about a possible job for me this year. It makes my heart happy to know that somewhere SOMEONE is getting an awesome new job!
Wow, congrats on getting a degree!
You know, growing up I always knew there were different types of people in the world;but living in a small town I always saw the same. It wasn't until I was 19 and went out on a student exchange where I realized there were SO many different people with many different likes, stlyes, personalities and everything. It was definitely perplexing but at the same time I liked it. Some of the people I was with did not care for others at all, but me being the crazy extrovert had to talk to them and get know these different people around me and I got quite a few surprises. I guess what I learned is something I already knew but had never experienced and finally experimented, not judging a book by it's cover.
Sharpie Pen-Marker Thingies because when I study it HAS to be colorful or it won't stick to my brain.
I was schooled
I was schooled first by my dad. He is a super smart guy who won on Jeopardy once! He instilled a love of reading and learning in me from day 1. He taught me that I should always strive to be better in everything that I do. I am the driven person i am today because of him! I know my little Munchkin woukd love these Sharpies for all of her art projects!! She loves doodling on everything :) Thanks for the contest!
Things
This is fun. I like easy. I don't think I even know what a loris is. Guess I will be spending the rest of my work day Googling them.
It's this Chalk Ink Pen. I highly recommend it. Basically, it goes on like a marker, but dries to where it won't smudge off like normal chalk. But comes off fairly easily with a wet paper towel.
Here is the desktop version of your link

I want these so bad!
Here's a good investment. "Effective on all US currency including new design bills."

I use these in my lab and they are resistant to EtOH and water, but not things like acetone or xylene. They work for me for most of my daily tasks, and they write nice and fine.
Just to check, is it these? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sanford-Prismacolor-Premier-Markers-Brush-Assorted/dp/B0038D97AA

I personally use Colored Pencils. They do have these http://www.amazon.com/Pentel-Color-Pen-Assorted-S360-36/dp/B001E6F108/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1458885355&sr=8-2&
Someone posted in the questions about color bleed on coloring books.
I found these too http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VY9U9W0/ref=s9_hps_bw_g229_i1
I never talk about what I want, so this is huge for me, haha. 💕💕
Because your username is relevant. Hopefully that makes you laugh :D
For me.
I use gold, silver, and copper paint markers specifically gundam markers and sharpies
For the gundam markers I got the metallic gundam marker set: https://www.amazon.com/GSI-Creos-Gundam-Metallic-Marker/dp/B00KBRFOIU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467993243&sr=8-1&keywords=gundam+marker+metallic
The gold and silver from that set is super useful but the other colors less so, they're okay but can be really uneven in the color they put out so I'd suggest for the other colors only for small and very few spots on a kit to lower your chances of getting inconsistent color (again though this is not a problem with the gold and silver they're great)
For the sharpies I used a metallic marker pack that I bought at Wal-Mart that has gold, silver, and bronze: https://www.amazon.com/Sharpie-Metallic-Permanent-Assorted-1829201/dp/B007QNWC3M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467993555&sr=8-1&keywords=Metallic+sharpie+markers (It was like this pack, same markers but only one of each and it was really cheap like around $3-$5)
The sharpies are great they don't really spill like the gundam markers can but the downside to them is that they can kind of streak easily especially on bigger surfaces and they can rub off fairly easily which is great for cleaning areas where you accidentally covered, but can be a little frustrating when the color rubs away on areas that you wanted the metallic color (top coat helps protect the paint)
26x23.5 in
34.5x48 in
Make sure you get wet erase markers for these
As for terrain, you don't really need any to start...and its probably better if you didn't, because then you'll over-focus on that. But if you're a big craftsperson, check this guy out.
OK, thanks for the reply.
I coach AA hockey teams. We used to use them for goaltender training and occasionally skating work. I guess someone had a bad experience because they've only recently banned them at both of our practice arenas (like halfway through this season).
I've always used the "giant" sharpies:
https://www.amazon.com/Sharpie-15661PP-Permanent-Marker-4-Count/dp/B0013CQ20Q
Yeah, I drew it. I was using a Prismacolor Premier brush tip marker in size B. I got it in a set with a few different colors but I honestly don’t really use them that much. It’s a fine marker but there are definitely some better options out there. Lately I’ve been using the Pentel Fude Sign Pens more than the Prismacolor but they both get the job done.
Prismacolor
Pentel
I've had these on my Christmas and Birthday lists for years. Family is always looking for good ideas for me but I'm still waiting.
Wow, thank you so much for answering! It looks like it's also on amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Zebra-Mackee-Care-Double-Sided-Marker/dp/B007QAIQV2
Like, that size?
And these are the markers we're supposed to use?
A good set of pens is really fun for creative types. Pentel SignPens (either these or these) are fantastic. Sakura and Stabilo make great ones as well. I like previously offered highlighter ideas and love my new see-through ones that I linked there. Also what about a set of sketch pencils?
What about some paracord and accessories for making guinea pig leashes? There are tons of sites that tell how to make them, she might be into it.
I also just recently got a little more into makeup and found an AMAZING set of cheap makeup brushes as a starter set - These and I'm actually getting them for my 18 yo niece for Christmas.
Best of luck!
