I've heard good things about Furbo !

It's a Treat Tossing, Full HD Wifi Pet Camera and 2-Way Audio, Designed for Dogs, and Compatible with Alexa.

Amazon has one for $40. It is amazing TOOGE Pet Camera, Dog Camera FHD Pet Monitor Indoor Cat Camera Night Vision 2 Way Audio and Motion Detection(Updated) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0796T6MTK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_PdLNDbHS7YPDP

I did some shopping at petsRsmart yesterday, noted that a LOT of merchandise has been reduced in price up to 70% to clear.
Marked down clearance merchandise that doesn't sell within a specific time usually gets tossed. (30-60 days).

A few months ago I got lucky and scored about a dozen of these, they didn't sell at the clearance prices so they tossed them.

I have this device, which has WiFi camera and can throw treats from the app:

Furbo Dog Camera: Treat Tossing, Full HD Wifi Pet Camera and 2-Way Audio, Designed for Dogs, Works with Amazon Alexa (As Seen On Ellen) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FXC7JWQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_UGiFAbVFVSEJT

I think you might be overthinking this.

You really don't want to desensitize the beep and I assume your dog goes through those doors normally and you don't want them to be scared of them.

I would suggest you get some chicken wire and tape it to the door temporarily. Your dog won't like scratching the chicken wire and hopefully will stop pretty quickly. You can then remove the chicken wire.

Another idea is getting something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Furbo-Dog-Camera-Designed-Compatible/dp/B01FXC7JWQ/ref=ddp_kc_6/144-2337665-7347355?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01FXC7JWQ&pd_rd_r=e1335390-5d8d-11e9-bd66-f3c4fc150285&pd_rd_w=pvqBU&pd_rd_wg=uPH8P&pf_rd_p=e0815646-5f2f-4605-9a93-befcd273e46a&pf_rd_r=55AV25EA4ES2MSD960JB&psc=1&refRID=55AV25EA4ES2MSD960JB

You can interact with your dog while you aren't at home and potentially reduce the anxiety.

Here's the camera that I use, it works really well for the price ($40 us)

You need one of these!

Play with the laser, you can listen in on your cats, you can talk to them, etc.

u/DigitalDefenestrator · 2 pointsr/GoRVing

This thing is probably the simplest solution: https://www.amazon.com/PetSafety-Temperature-Environment-Motorhome/dp/B07DR6RBVVbut not exactly the cheapest.

On the other end of the spectrum... I already had a wifi router hard-wired in, so I set up a Raspberry Pi Zero W with a DS18B20 temperature sensor. Probably the cheapest option, but not particularly straightforward to set up.

We ended up buying a pet monitor from Motorola as we weren't sure we were going to need a video monitor, and we didn't want to throw away $100+ on something we may never need. It was on Woot for $50 quite a few months ago so we snapped it up; http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Scout500-2-Remote-Wireless-Monitor/dp/B00IUKKM1E

You could try this, but it only lasts 1.5 hours.

Something like this will help. Video, speaker, and you can send out treats. Also detects when a dog is barking and alerts you.

u/Scott_IUsed2Know · 1 pointr/SiberianCats

Maybe a different distraction?? Put a petcube near the door with the autoplay laser... soon as it sense motion is shoots the laser and distracts the cat... I have no idea if it would work, but petcubes are fun when you have to leave overnight. Here is the petcube I have (its the older one, they have a new one now- maybe it doesn't try to shoot the laser into the walls now... ):

I bought this pet cam for around $30 bucks a while ago, and recently added a Tradfri Smart plug from IKEA for $9.

When I leave the house, SmartThings turns the camera on. When I come home, camera turns off.

The cam has built-in motion sensing and saves to an SD card, which you can view on their native app.

There are cheaper cams (like Wyze for $20) which I think do more or less the same thing. Pair with that IKEA plug for cheap automation, works great!

I’m battling depression and uncertain future doesn’t mean I’m gonna kill myself. Sometimes the journey is half of what life is: rough or rich we all go through it. You can buy a treat dispensing machine that lets you send treats to your dog through a phone app.

There’s also a toy that shoots balls and your dog can put the balls back in and plays fetch with itself. Before killing your pet please consider the following options. I see my dog getting bored at home and kinda sad. I just change things up buy her new treats walk her in different areas.

Please don’t kill a healthy dog dude.

If the YouTube TV subscription cost is a material amount to the client, then that really changes things. Yachts are generally not a budget hobby, especially making one "smart".

If that's their main concern, consider a stand-alone device made for that use-case, like RV PetSafety. It will be simple, cheap, and reliable.

Hahahaha! The Petcube:
Petcube Play | 1080p Video, Night Vision, 2-way Audio, and Built-in Laser Toy, Matte Silver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JOBAOCE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_aKSsybMKCXJ45

There's also a 720p version for $99. We got it just before thanksgiving and it really was fun getting to play with the kitties and check in on them from afar.

u/Velocisaurus · 1 pointr/nottheonion

If the case does go to court and Wikimedia is proven correct, are they prepared for the onslaught of photos taken by these things?

u/Soloopylu · 1 pointr/Advice

There are these pet cameras they look like febreeze automatic time sprayers, set one up in every room of the house and you’ve got security on your phone to see what’s going on

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Furbo-Dog-Camera-2-Way-Audio-Compatible/dp/B01FXC7JWQ

Could be used for a disguise camera, maybe someone is coming down from the balcony and grabbing bits while nobody is there

I wouldn't judge someone in your shoe's. Saving a pet you love that is. We have Norwegian Elkhounds and love them to death. That said, my wife spoils them far more than I ever would. She bought a Furbo when it was still on Kickstarter for about half the price and has a subscription to Barkbox.

Me? I give them Milkbone treats and buy stuffed animals at flea markets or Goodwill for 50 cents each. But hey, it makes her happy and honestly, they're great dogs. Certainly don't have to worry about intruders.

Now if one of them came down with cancer? IDK. Depends on a number of factors. Like are they in pain, what's the likely outcome, etc.

u/InfernalWedgie · 1 pointr/NoStupidQuestions

I think THESE are the silliest things ever, but if you or your bro have the funds, I'd recommend getting one.

There used to be iPet Companion that allowed users to play with shelter kitties remotely, but their website/company seems to have died.

Petchatz. It actually has a foot button (in the shape of a paw, called the "pawcall") for your pet to call YOU. You can't make this shit up.
