You can get it on Amazon. The official color is called "Crystal".

Its one of the four new colors they announced last September, along with some faceplates for the console.

Welcome! Yea, you are going to need to pick up a camera if you dont already have one. The camera is crucial as the headset wont work and controllers wont track without it.Here's one on Amazon for $40.

Check this thread out for more information. I try and share it with all the new members as it was created with the new user in mind.

There is a lot of free demo content you can download. The demos will allow you to try genres you may not have been interested in, but find in VR, you like them. These are all US based links.

Playstation 4 Gold. Clean looking, cheap, and has 7.1 via software. Not the most fancy, but work really good for a $99 wireless headset.

I had bought a Titan One to use my Xbox One Elite Controller on my PS4.

Yesterday, I found a posting that showed the navigation controller can sync to the PS4, but wont work in game.

I remembered I had the titanone which lets you emulate a DS4.

It worked! I'm really happy!

Full range of motion, I'm able to back away in fights easily, walk, run etc...with the navigation controller analog button

Quality fightsticks, used for traditional fighters, cost about this much. It may seem like a lot, but that is the market value.

As an example, this is a popular, high quality fightstick.

Have you considered just getting a phone clip for your DS4? https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Controller-Holder-Bracket-Playstation/dp/B01MQ0BGOL/

I bought this one. Same one you can buy on Alixpress for $3.

It works fine. Doesn't feel too flimsy.

However, DS4 + clip + iPhone is kinda heavy in the hand. I really start feeling it in my wrists after 30 minutes. I don't really recommend this setup.

u/ne0en · 5 pointsr/PS4

Did you charged controller with phone charger? I did and i burned usb port on controller (samsung note 4 ac adapter) . My controller worked only when it was connected to ps4.
I solved charging broken controller by buying ps charging station, because with charging station the controller is charged through different port.

If you're looking for wireless absolutely go with the Sony Gold headset (or wait for the platinum but I don't think price has been announced yet).

If you're looking for wired check out the HyperX Cloud 2s as mentioned before or the Sony Silver. The Silver uses the same in house surround sound as the Golds but in a wired format as well and will run you $30 on amazon.

EDIT
It seems like the Silvers are prone to breaking, but the same has been said for the Golds and my golds are still going strong and I bought them right after they came out.

u/wavetoyou · 5 pointsr/PSVR

I sold my Launch Bundle a few weeks ago in anticipation of the Skyrim Bundle. A part of me wishes I had kept the old one. I'm gonna do this bit of random thoughts and comparisons in bullet-point form:

  • The 4K HDR passthrough is great. But, I was a fan of the old processor box's sliding cover. I guess it's one less thing that can break or snap, but I liked it. Next to my Pro, the new processor box does fit the motif a tad more, although the rounded edges are not Pro-like at all. Aesthetics on a breakout box are probably the least important factor, but thought I'd jot down everything I noticed.

  • The micro USB Move controllers seem lighter, but I liked the heavy feel of the older ones. A great improvement is that they are now micro USB, as opposed to the pretty much extinct mini USB. The Action buttons are now blacked out, which I like. The controllers also came uncharged, which was incredibly annoying since I was on a time crunch to play before having to head back to work. Anyone else have this issue? Did I buy a returned unit?

  • The new bundle did not come with a charging option for the 2 Move controllers, which I think is a bit cheap on Sony's part. You do get a micro USB cord with the bundle, but it's the one used to connect the processor unit to the console. The PS4 consoles all come with a charging cord, that is true, but this is for sure a way to boost sales for charging peripherals, since charging two Move controllers and at least one DS4 would be rather difficult with one cord. Thankfully, I bought the Sony charging stand last year. I highly recommend it to everyone.

  • The headset attaches right to the processor unit, there is no long thick cord in-between. I liked that cord, and the cool connector box with the Playstation shapes on it, but it was annoying to deal with, that's for sure. This is an improvement, but the cord is not nearly as heavy duty as the other. Keep in mind, with the old, thicker, cord, Sony could just send you a replacement...but with the new design, you'd probably have to send your entire headset in, since the cord is attached into the headset and cannot be removed.

  • I'm still not decided on the buttons on the headset itself, as opposed to the little attached remote on the cable. The power button is a small one on the bottom of the eyepiece of the unit, right in the middle...smaller than the other buttons. You have to hold it to turn the headset off. The button to move the eyepiece is now on the top right, as opposed to the bottom right. It'll take getting used to. Volume adjustment button is on the bottom left, and you will need to remember which area on it to press to increase/decrease volume, and I'm pretty sure pushing it in the middle is MUTE, but I have yet to use it. To be honest, I liked the old design, but am assuming that using the new setup in-game will be more efficient. The fact that the old in-ear buds color matched the attached button setup was cool. Speaking of in-ear buds...

  • The new in-ear buds look pretty well designed. While I really liked the color on the old ones, the idea of having these attach to the headset itself, and designed to firmly fit around the back of the neck, is definitely progress. I will say that while playing, the cord would snag onto my shit collar causing a bit of resistance when I was turning my head. If possible, play in a t-shirt.

  • This more about the firmware update, so probably the same for the older headsets as well...I love that the volume now has a numerical value. I found my sweet spot @ 22. Great addition by Sony.

All of these little tidbits were based on about an hour of gameplay. I did not enjoy Skyrim as much as I thought based on all the praise in here, but I think I'm just annoyed by not having smooth turn. Finger's crossed they add it in an update at some point.

It's on Amazon I just don't want to drop $60 until my V1 is completely shot.

Sony PlayStation DualShock 4 Wireless Controller - Exclusive Crystal Edition https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015S4JIWS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_f-Tozb80Z7WXA

u/Hammer_525 · 5 pointsr/PSVR

I have this basic case that works great. Easy to carry and fits the shape of the headset perfectly, so it's compact as well.

If you're willing to spend more there's this better carrying case that'll hold the breakout box and more cables along with the headset. I can't give an opinion on it but judging by the reviews it's a great product.

Also I found this backpack that seems to hold everything: the headset, breakout box, cables, camera, Move controllers, and DS4. It's cheaper than the deluxe case, but don't offer the nice made-to-fit molds of the deluxe nor the shape of the first case that fits the headset. Don't seem to be any reviews for it either, just the other varieties of backpack the same company makes for other devices, although those are rated highly.

Seems like all 3 are a great choice, just depends on how much you want to keep together, how much room you'll have on your trips, and what your ideal price is. Hope this helps!

If you can afford more than $50, I would recommend the Turtle Beach Stealth 350VR. I own these. The audio quality is top-notch and the ear cushions are very comfortable. The headband hurts the top of my head if I wear them too long, but that may vary from person to person.

https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Amplified-Monitoring-PlayStation-4/dp/B01GTL4YSW

If those are too expensive, these Plantronics are a nice alternative and just a little over $50 at the moment. I own these as well, but I got them when they were on clearance at Walmart for around $24. The sound quality is not as good as the Turtle Beach ones, but the headband is more comfortable for me.

Camera is 60
Controllers are 40 each, and don't seem to be available.

Had enough, or do you still think 140 years later makes perfect sense, and 199 for much better hardware is "overpriced"?

Looks like the TRIPLE15 code is for new customers. Amazon also has it for $139.46 if you don't want to use Jet.com. I don't have experience with them so not sure how reliable they are.

They do, there are companies that make phone holders that clip onto the controller.

For Example

u/MajorVermin · 3 pointsr/PS4

You'll want the official ps4 new gold headset. $99 usually. It's on sale right now I guess. $70.99

u/Zefirus · 3 pointsr/StreetFighter

So I'm not sure why, but the Soul Calibur stick is 93 bucks right now. It's a pretty good stick.

As far as I know, it's completely identical to this stick. I've got this one and it's pretty good. Hori's Hayabusa stuff isn't generally the first choice, but it's definitely good enough.

For the record, you can change the artwork if you really want to. It's a bit time consuming, but an easy DIY project. This is mine. The hardest part is really just removing the old artwork as it's bonded to the metal. After that it's pretty basic.

u/HerpDerpenberg · 3 pointsr/Diablo

Go find a PlayStation 1 emulator and get the ROM for it. Been doing that for years. Plug in a PS4 controller with an OTG cable and something like this to hold your phone while you hold the controller and you're good to go.

What I would like is them to release the D1 PSX digitally in the PSN tore, but it looks like that was published by EA at the time, so they likely own the distribution rights to it so it would have to be some odd agreement for them to release it digitally. Then I could just play it natively on my Vita and Vita TV.

u/REDeyeJEDI85 · 3 pointsr/PS4

I use this one and find it to be solid build quality. The people complaining in the comments didn't try hard enough to clip it as I had no problem with either gen 1/2 DS4 controllers.

u/TheAntman217 · 3 pointsr/PS4

That's not the official charging station, it's an officially licensed charging station and is not made by Sony. Sony's official Dualshock 4 Charging Station is this one, which is not yet available in the US.

u/MartinB105 · 3 pointsr/PSVR

I meant the official Sony DualShock 4 Charging Station, i.e. this one:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PlayStation-DualShock-Charging-Station/dp/B00D781PSI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1474463628&sr=8-2

As far as I can tell, the PowerA is a third party product, but it looks like a decent option for PSVR if you have (or planning to get) Move controllers.

For Move charging, I already have this official Sony one:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PlayStation-Move-Charging-Station/dp/B004477IZA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474463745&sr=8-1

u/k3v1ng1994 · 3 pointsr/PS4

I honestly never have to worry about my battery life thanks to these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PlayStation-DualShock-Charging-Station/dp/B00D781PSI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416764706&sr=8-1&keywords=ps4+charging
I picked these up for like half the price that they go for (£20) from HMV. Its awesome, unless you plan on playing for more than 6 hours consecutively. But even then, just pick up a second controller and it will charge both!

u/Theradox · 3 pointsr/PS4

This charging station is still probably my best purchase when it comes to the ps4. Small footprint and looks pretty nice too.

u/geoelectric · 3 pointsr/PS4Deals

This is a good charger, but if you can find the very similar imported Sony DS4 charger on Amazon it's better. It cost me about the same as this, doesn't have fiddly moving parts, and can accommodate controllers in silicone skins. I replaced this with it and it's been a net improvement.

Here it is. It's $23 instead of $16 but I'd still recommend it over the Power A.

If you do get it, one pro-tip. If you try to get the controller to plug onto the power lead it feels totally unintuitive (though you will have to do this if you use a rubber controller skin--you get used to it). But if you just drop the naked controller on the cradle slot and let it slide itself down into the indent, it just hooks up with no effort. Key is to not try to "help" it.

u/x94x · 3 pointsr/NHLHUT

Don't switch if you're not committed to learning to clean your inputs full time. You're going to practice to adapt to your controls anyway. From playing all three at one point I noticed a few things:

Lightning loops are easier on pad than on stick if you're doing neutral jumps as opposed to tiger knee inputs. Issue being sometimes depending on what you use it's annoying to adapt with a set shoulder button as your charge button.

Hitbox is a pain to learn for grappler inputs (think 720s) and half circles and tiger knees don't feel nearly as intuitive when starting out.

*Stick's like a middle ground of pros and cons. Not the best yet definitely not bad either. I didn't like having to anticipate blocks and using your wrist felt like more work at times when compared to the rest. Recommended? probably look into Hori (Real Arcade, Fighting Edge, VLX), Eightarc/Qanba, or Mad Catz (PS4 SFV TE2+) sticks... er, the higher end ones. Don't bother with the cheaper $30-80 range since those sticks usually have worse parts (stick, buttons) and generally won't last long without a good mod.

There's definitely more to think about. What characters you're playing will determine your choice... and ask yourself if you're willing to push your characters to the limit and beyond or if you're content enough with what you're comfortable using from when you started. It goes without saying that lots of practice is required to be successful in the first place; for some the answer's obvious and for others it's all a matter of thinking about what you want to do for yourself.

Me personally. Hitbox all the way. I couldn't picture myself playing Zero teams to their full potential without one,and its led to me trying out other characters I didn't even think about picking up before.

u/killagoku · 3 pointsr/fightsticks

I can say I have never seen the obsidian go lower then $160 so I think that's a steal. As for the TE2+ the pricing gets tricky since they don't make it anymore the price seems to always be inflated a couple months ago they where at over $300+ easy. I would say this sale is about as good as it is going to get until EVO since the prices on sticks only seem to drop around the release of new Fighting games and DBZF is huge right now so they are pushing them hard. But of course you do get random stuff like the Panthera being $140 I even missed out on that sale. But once the hype goes down for DBZF you won't see a sale on them for easily 6 months since they are a very niche product. It has gotten to the point where I get excited every time there is a huge fighting game out even if I have no intention of playing it since the sticks will finally come down in price. Here is the sales history of the TE2+ on amazon, Obisidan, and Drone. You can see its crazy how they rarely go on sale and when they do it is always with hype of a new game or Black friday. I mean hell the obsidian seems to never be on god damn sale, I would say if you wanna buy buy now before we enter the drought but that's just me.

u/Flight714 · 3 pointsr/PS4

The wire is frayed internally, and therefore the signal gets lost intermittently. At some point the cable either got stretched out too far, or tangled up and twisted too much.

A good rule of thumb for any electronics cable: It should always be hanging loosely—never taught and straight. If your cable is stretched out enough to make a straight line, it's in the process of getting damged. Same goes for tangling, twisting, and bending the cable.

Source: Studied electronics, and have worked with cables on and off for a decade or so.

You'll need a new one. The official ones that come with the PS4 cost about 12$:

Yes, there's a ton of options on Amazon, I'd go for one licensed by Sony. PowerA makes one for the switch that holds two joycons and the pro controller, I have that and it's pretty good. I see they make one for PlayStation as well.

Get some thumbgrips, I prefer Kontrol Freeks, it really helps, not to play better but for comfort.

Lastly if you are into fighting games, get an arcade stick.

u/TheEternal21 · 2 pointsr/PS4

I thought I dodged the bullet on this one, but my day-one controller started rubbing off as well the other week (left analog stick), that despite me being extremely careful. That's what I get for being lazy and not ordering rubber protectors earlier.

Ended up googling and heard good things about the aluminum sticks, so I ordered them on Amazon. Still waiting for the package. I also ordered X1 sticks just in case, and a whole assortment of different rubber covers. I will report back when I replace them, but I think the aluminum ones are the best bet - no more fear of them rubbing off.

Here's the link to the aluminum sticks:

I have these installed. Love my Ds4 more than any controller since the Wavebird now I have these. I don't even use my other two DS4's, or won't until I get the other sticks shipped & installed! The concave is ideal for folks like me with bigger hands. The cool touch of the aluminum is great for intense gaming sessions.

Looks like these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K23LKK4/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I put them on my PS4 controller (because the stock sticks started disentigrating almost immediately). They're really great, I recommend them.

u/LostRapture · 2 pointsr/Overwatch

There are plenty of products that allow full use of the same KB/M on your PS4. They work great and require very little setup. I have used them. Although, I do not now as I prefer the feel of a controller. (I know, I am lame). Even on PC I use a controller. However, I dont play multi-player shooter games on PC.

Although, looks like the price has gone up.

For the PSTV you should be able to use any PS3 compatible stick without any plugins I would assume. If it doesn't work natively you could use this... https://www.amazon.com/ConsoleTuner-Titan-One-Xbox-playstation-4/dp/B00LH5XZQS I've used it to use my 360 TE stick on the PS TV

Could plug that into the bottom of your controller but then you're tethered to your speakers.

You need some sort of USB audio output where the 3.5mm can go. For instance, when you buy a headset you get the little volume control box and where the headset plugs in you could also just plug in speakers. https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Silver-Wired-Stereo-Headset-4/dp/B00NE5D4SS

They make little adapters that don't cost as much as a headset kit but I have no idea if these would work on a console instead of a PC. http://a.co/iX9Ydg1

I play on a monitor and I got the Sony Silver headset when it was 19 bucks at Walmart. The headset broke of course, as it's known to do, but I'm still using the little adapter to plug in different headphones and speakers.

u/lyanna_rayne · 2 pointsr/PS4

I have the same headphones and there's nothing you can do :( I ended up getting these for only $20 and I love them. They're a little hard to find in store but I got them at best buy and price matched Wal-Mart.

Second one I linked is a later rebrand with 2 DS4 adapters to use it with PS4 as a Sony attempted to "recycle" excess accessories produced during the PS3 Move era.

I remember picking my first one up for $5 clearance in Walmart before PSVR and then they hiked up in price after demand soared for Move wands.

u/zrith1 · 2 pointsr/fightsticks

I'm assuming you are on ps4/pc? There are a ton of good sticks to pick from.

  • Hori Fighting edge

  • Razer Panthera

  • Qanba Obsidian

  • Madcatz te2/te2+

They are all in the $200 price range and are all great sticks. Personally I have a te2 and love it. For the most part, it just comes down to preference. If I had to pick, I'd probably go for the Panthera since I don't think Madcatz is making sticks again after they came back.

All of these sticks besides the Hori fighting edge use sanwa parts. The Hori stick uses their own parts, but they are really solid from what I've heard (you can swap buttons/joysticks in any of these sticks, so it isn't the biggest deal).

In terms of using custom art, the Te2 is probably the easiest. The Panthera and Te2 are the easest to mod overall because of their clamshell designs where you can open them up with buttons on the front, but all of these sticks are easy to mod.

I've tried an obsidian and didn't like the shape of the case or the way it looks, but that is just my preference.

I'd just look up each of the sticks and see which one looks best to you. You can't really go wrong with any of them.

It's incredibly sad that the majority view from the 5 comments already posted is that Capcom will not add include PS3 arcade stick support for SFV's PS4 release.

However, it's not sad because Capcom aren't taking a consumer-friendly step in order to allow for a greater amount of potential players on the PS4. It doesn't bother me that the driver to enable this capability is being offered for completely free by Lab Zero (though of course you can never ignore the time it takes to implement it), and has already been used by no less than Capcom's own USFIV. Funny, isn't it - the port job (outsourced) was initially so buggy that it couldn't be used in EVO 2015 as planned... but out of that trainwreck one of the few things that worked was the driver. Maybe it isn't that hard to implement? Who knows - Capcom certainly doesn't (or if they do, they're not telling us for absolutely no reason).

Disregard all of that. What really bothers me is that despite all of this anti-consumer tight-lippedness on the behalf of Capcom, is that people are going out of their way to accommodate them! "Hey guys, do you know where I can get a Hori Pro 4 Kai / MadCatz TE2 for cheap? How is the lag on these converters? Will they be allowed in tournaments? I've got to be ready for Street Fighter V!" What the fuck? Seriously? You're going to drop $60 ^^or ^^your ^^regional ^^equivalent on their game, and then anywhere from $50 $35 to TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY FUCKING US DOLLARS on top of that because some schmucks at Capcom thought your old stick wasn't good enough?

Not only have a huge amount of Street Fighter players collectively spread their buttcheeks for Capcom, but they've gone and bought the lube as well. Good work. I kind of get why they thought they could get away with on-disc DLC with SFxT.

At least SFV won't have Focus Attacks, right guys? Right?!?!

u/elctrcboogaloo3 · 2 pointsr/Guiltygear

Both of those should be great sticks; you can't really go wrong with either of them. The TE2 you linked doesn't have a touchpad or L3/R3 buttons, while the Hori has both.

It's not a huge deal for GG, since you can press Play + Record instead of the touchpad to reset in training/combo mode. Other games probably won't have that shortcut, though, and Skullgirls uses it as the back button in PS4 mode, so it's great to have.

If you want those features on a TE2, you can go with the TE2+ instead, for a bit of a higher price. The main draw of both the TE2 and the TE2+ is that they are extremely easy to modify, especially for cosmetic things like art.

I don't have a Hori, but from what I've heard it's not much harder to mod buttons and such than on the TE2. So if you don't care too much about easy cosmetic modding then your best bet is probably the Hori, but they are all great sticks.

u/RememberMemoire · 2 pointsr/Tekken

Do you think this Hori fightstick will be an alternative too ? For just getting into fighting games and arcade sticks in general, I really think a cheap arcade stick will do his work to get me introduced into the genre (and ofc to give me a basic feel of an arcade stick).

We just got the Turtle Beach Stealth 350VR for my son's birthday. He loves it. Don't worry about the VR thing if you don't have VR. That's mostly the design of the headband to be a little wider to accommodate VR headsets. But it looks and feels fine using it regularly.

The best thing about it is the mic monitoring. He can hear his own voice (if he wants to) which helps him to figure out how loud the mic is. He's also shouting less which is much nicer for everyone else in the house. The headset is on sale for $60.

Do you have a source for that? Because Valve seems to get by fine with the Steam Controller. I think this is probably the actual reason, not Microsoft.

u/alrighthamilton · 2 pointsr/PSVR

Brought mine home with me for the holidays so my family could try it. Carried the ps4 in my backpack and the VR in this. On the way back, I had to carry-on a case of records I had bought which I would never trust to make it through baggage handling. I put the VR, in the case, in my large checked suitcase and did very basic padding, ensuring that it wasn't jutting out from the rest of what was in there and just asking to have all of the bag (and other bags)'s weight converging on that point.

It came through just fine and I was never really that stressed about it. Love that case, because it fits like a glove and feels very protective. I almost want to store it in there regularly, but I also have a black glass head that I like using as a stand.

I took this thing down south to visit the folks and ended up demoing VR at two different locations. The amount of protection it offers the lenses is over the top. They fall behind a firm barrier so that you can comfortably toss a power or USB cable into the back half and it works like a charm. The design is also extremely organized. Everything fits, save the camera. But nothing feels crammed in or tangled. Highly recommended.

Yesir. The PS Gold can only achieve 3D when connected via the 3.5mm jack. As for the reasons, the 3D audio is processed by the PSVR breakout box. If you don't mind spending the extra cash you might as well get the new platinum headphones, which is the follow up to the gold headphones Link

-I had the gold headset before this one and it felt very cheaply constructed comparatively (only lasted 6 months before the folding part snapped and shattered). It's def a fine option at the current Amazon sale ($69.99), but buyer beware. The plat has a pliable metal band that can take a beating... I may have accidentally stepped on it once... or was it twice? Regardless, the headset brushed it off like a champ.

-I've had the plat for 2+ years now with heavy use and it shows no sign of breaking/cracking, audio quality loss, or charge depletion issues.

-Like any good wireless headset, the usb dongle works perfectly fine (and has WAY better range) when plugged into a computer. I play rocket league on PS4 all the time with my friends who are on PC, and I use this headset for discord on my laptop.

-If you've got the initial line Ps4Pro and it runs like a jet engine (despite cleaning and replacing thermal paste...), these have decent noise reduction to combat the small exploding star in your room.

-There is an app on playstation that you load EQ sound profiles on that are designed by game devs for their respective games... but idk if my app is busted or if they never update it, but the plat app only has like 3 options for me and I can't get it to update... not really a selling feature here, BUT you can set your own EQ and save it to one of the two presets on the plat headset and load it on the fly, which is pretty cool.

-3D audio, dual mic voice capture, and the standard bass boost switch are welcome features here compared to the gold. 3D audio SHINES on this thing, but it only works with PS4.

-In regards to price point, this is a great list compared to the trend (CamelCamelCamel Link) and the cheapest a new one has ever been made available besides a crazy brief sale in april.

Since you are from Australia like me you will have issues finding good deals. If you are patient try to wait for prime day and get a stick on amazon with prime since the major costs for us will be the delivery fees and added GST. In terms of recommendations, i personally go either qanba obsidian or razer panthera.

The Hori stick is currently on sale and a good deal(not sanwa parts though) if you have prime but i personally wait for prime day for qanba obsidian as that may drop to 138 USD or lower like last year which is about the same price as the current Hori arcade stick.

https://www.amazon.com.au/Hori-Real-Arcade-Pro-Hayabusa/dp/B073C5PWS2/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=qanba&qid=1557483859&s=gateway&sr=8-4

I have a razer panthera which i bought this year for about 230 AUD but would've waited for the qanba obsidian on prime day if i was patient this year or black friday/cyber monday.

If you are gonna spend bellow 150 AUD most likely suggest qanba drone(evo drone is better) but i personally wouldnt spend money on arcade sticks bellow as they wont either have sanwa parts or you may regret it once u want to get more premium sticks.

Aw damn, the SoulCalibur VI RAP N went back up in price. The PS4 version was $106 several days ago the last time I checked on Amazon and there was a good seller on eBay that sold it for around $85 to $95 which is where I got it from. Anyway, I do second this. It's my first fightstick and it's a blast.

The regular RAP N is priced lower than the SoulCalibur VI version on Amazon at $126.97 right now to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the SoulCalibur VI RAP N being $158.99.

https://www.amazon.com/Arcade-Hayabusa-PlayStation-Officially-Licensed-4/dp/B073C5PWS2/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=hori+rap+n&qid=1574632968&sr=8-1

If you're okay with used fightsticks, there is a seller, a pawn shop apparently with good reviews, selling the PS4 version of the Hori Tekken 7 RAP N for $99.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/HORI-Real-Arcade-Pro-Hayabusa-Tekken-7-Edition-Fight-Stick-PS4080/233395481925?hash=item3657746d45:g:cS0AAOSwfOBdxeKs&shqty=1&isGTR=1#shId

Personally, I wouldn't buy it not because it's used, but because of the price. From what I gathered, the Tekken 7 version is more of a collector's edition. It's usually more expensive than the regular RAP N and the SoulCalibur VI which because it was attached to a less popular game, is sold for less than the regular RAP N where except for not have these rubber mats under them, the same thing the Tekken 7 version lacks if I recall correctly, it's the same fightstick with a different art and case color. That is just me, though, if you really want a RAP N, like the Tekken 7 stock art, and are okay with the price, then sure.

Another "used" fightstick is the Rap 4 Kai which was mentioned by another user on Amazon. Amazon Warehouse currently has a "like new" offer for the Rap 4 Kai and it's $116.85. I've had good experiences with Amazon Warehouse, but there have been some misses like they sent me the wrong items. Not all that bad since you can just send it back and get a refund.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00SULMRI4/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=soul+calibur+fightstick&qid=1574631682&sr=8-7

Someone else posted a thread about how the Razer Panthera Evo is on sale on their site and their eBay store for $140. The one issue with the Panthera Evo is that it can be difficult to install a Korean lever. You did not mention any 3D fighters like Dead or Alive, SoulCalibur, or Tekken, so it probably won't matter much, but in the future if you ever get into those, especially Tekken, or you really want to try out a Korean lever, then it could be a pain to install.

The upcoming Hori Pro N is a little pricy, but it’s PS3/4 and PC (xinput). I have the Japanese version as well as a few others of this body type, and it’s hands down one of my favorite. The little bit extra up front is worth it, IMO. I’ve been replacing a lot of my sticks with the hayabusa parts that come in this.

The expensive stuff isnt worth the money. I have a $200 pair of Turtle Beach headsets that dont sound a whole lot better than the $40 pair of Turtle Beach headsets I bought my kid.

Right now on Amazon you can get the Gold Wireless Playstation branded headsets for $70. Thats $30 off. Ive heard lots of good reviews about them and If I were looking for a new pair Id pick these up in a heartbeat. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078TCLYVM?tag=price19296-20&ascsubtag=wtbs_5dbe1ace93d3c35d8e5de0f8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

there's no such thing as a "beginner" stick. you just need to get one that uses decent parts like sanwa. unfortunately that means you will have to spend more but I recommend Hori

if you're really strapped for cash try this stick and then mod it later with sanwa parts

also playing on pad is perfectly viable, even more so for SFV. so don't feel like you need to get one unless you have aspirations to go to japan one day and play against the arcade heads

hi, i'm sorry about my delayed responses im orthodox jewish and there is a jewish holiday through wednesday so i wont really be around until after that. unfortunately, im not sure how to install a preview build, can you tell me how?

more importantly how do i get a log of something that windows does not seem to know is not working? to be super specific, im using this headset: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B078TCLYVM/
in earlier times (i dont have an exact date of when this stopped working) i could use windows to control the volume of my headset, either by using the slider bar by clicking the volume icon on the taskbar or the volume shortcut keys on my keyboard. now, when i use the slider bar, it still "slides" and similarly when i use the keyboard shortcut it still shows the volume increasing or decreasing, it just doesnt actually do anything, as in, it does not affect the headphones in any way to adjust the volume from within windows. windows does not seem to know that, however. windows i think thinks everything is working properly, so as far as i can tell, there is not a "problem" to generate an error log.

how can i create a log for you?

EDIT: just fyi, i can still adjust the volume using the hardware buttons on the headset itself. EDIT 2: i should mention the buttons on the headset have nothing to do with windows volume control, adjusting the volume up or down on the headset does not change the slider bar or whatever windows thinks the volume is.

thanks again for taking the time to communicate with me, i really appreciate it and will try to follow instructions to help you help me :)

I've tried a lot of headphones: cheap earbuds, expensive earbuds, Koss, Mantis, Bose QC35II, Sony WH-1000XM3. I even disassembled the Mantis and put the Koss drivers in them.

In the end, the best headphones for me ended up being the Playstation Gold Wireless Headset. The sound is good (better than CV1), the headset is relatively light, it fits over the halo well, and it's wireless! I hated having a cord dangling down or awkwardly attached to the HMD. It's wireless through it's own dongle, and doesn't use Bluetooth. There is no perceptible latency. Being able to take them on and off so easily (because no wires) is really nice.

And it works just fine. I like the fact that it uses the charging dock at the bottom of the controller, and not the USB port, which I am not convinced will survive the years of plugging and unplugging that I expect a controller to go though. I know that micro USB is designed for 10,000 cycles, but I like using the more durable looking option, and having a fallback if that breaks.

I haven't had any controllers completely break on me (bought two on day 1 release and one additional controller a few months later), but I have had to take them apart several times to clean them. The only adjustment I have done is replace the stock thumb grips with metal thumb grips (link). I usually try to clean the connectors and buttons with alcohol once or twice a year. I would also suggest replacing/upgrading the battery and possibly buying new springs for L2/R2.

I've had a tough time adjusting to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on Xbox One because I also own the game for PC and the controls are so much better with a mouse and kb. For example, the main difference between this game and previous CoDs is the exo-movements. However, on console, I need to take my right thumb off of my right thumbstick in order to hit my "A" button to jump and exo/double-jump, which prevents me from being able to adjust my aim while my thumb is off the thumbstick. With a mouse and kb, I can tap (or double-tap) the space bar and still aim with my mouse the entire time. That's the #1 reason why I purchased the game on PC, but the playerbase just isn't there on PC in comparison to Xbox, so I've been forcing myself to play Xbone just for that reason alone. Some people have purchased Scuf controllers to have the extra paddles on the back that allow them to keep their thumb on the stick, but those are much more expensive than this adapter, so I'll take my chances and try this first.

not exactly what you're looking for but I bought the terrible playstation silver headset pre-owned for $10 bucks, proceeded to junk the headset its self and use the usb adapter it came with, I have the same setup you have (SHP9500+Boompro), using it you can download the Headset Companion app on the PS4, it offers a few profiles and some basic EQ, which offers marginally more bass or treble but reality is the SHP9500 just doesnt bass and you'd be better off getting a second pair of cans for bass.

It also has "7.1 virtual surround sound" which does offer better location awareness on the PS4 but not tons.

u/Nietzsche_Peachy · 1 pointr/PS4

My mistake, i dont know if its newer or older, but the one i was talking about was the PS Silver Headset. Its wired but has the mic that comes out. Its also cheaper than the Gold normally. Not sure if its newer or older, but on the Headset app you pick which headset you are using, and i had never seen that one until recently, so i assumed it was new.

Yes they do each ear separately. They should cover your ears, unless you have gotten the other pair (the silver ones).

u/trialmonkey · 1 pointr/battlefield_one

I've used these:
https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-ear-Headset/dp/B006PP3ZK6
They work well enough and plug directly into the controller. I had trouble with people hearing me through the mic though...
Or you could get these:
https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Silver-Wired-Stereo-Headset/dp/B00NE5D4SS/
They have decent sound/mic and work great with PS4. Also, it's one plug into the USB port. Some of the other suggestions have what look like odd setups with a mic/sound splitter that goes into the controller and a USB that goes into the PS4 which just looks like a mess.

I do agree with other posters here that suggest to spend $$ on good headphones that will last. I've had enough cheap ones in the past that didn't last very long, or had slightly subpar sound, etc.. There is a motto I try to follow "Buy it nice or buy it twice". Every time I get something cheap and it ends up breaking or otherwise a pain I have to remember my own motto and shake my head.

u/kezzic · 1 pointr/playstation

That's actually 110% fine, and you've actually given me an affordable solution to my problem, seeing as my primary problem is the inability to adjust chat and game volume via remote. It is hard to hear my friends voices in some games, and so I have been adjusting the in-game volume down, which is kind of a nuisance. I may lose the functionality of microphone-muting because the headset itself doesn't have a built-in switch, but that is a-ok.

The $100 MixAmp also does not have a built-in microphone mute switch, so I'd rather get the SilverAmp because of cost. Also, the PS4 amps/sound cards have that system application to adjust sound profiles, which is a neat addition that I would be able to utilize by using the 1st party remote.

I don't really know who to be frustrated with. Either Sony's lack of support for the HyperX sound card, or with the HyperX Cloud II itself. The quality of the damned headset blows my mind; I use it at school, work, and at home. It was advertised to work with PS4, but in reality, HyperX's solution is to avoid the card entirely and plug into the controller. I don't know if Sony could possibly patch 3rd party support in the future?

Thank you for doing so much legwork in the testing, I really appreciate it, and I will most likely be purchasing the Silver set/amp. I expect that the SilverAmp should work, but when I do end up purchasing the set (probably next paycheck), I will update this thread with full explanation up top for Googlers.

tl;dr

the SilverAmp that comes with the PS Silver Headset provides game and chat volume control (link); the MixAmp (link) does the exact same thing for more $$$. Neither have microphone mute switches.

u/_Kryptik_ · 1 pointr/playstation

The Gold is wireless-only (if you want to take advantage of all features). The wired option is using a 3.5mm patch cord to the controller, and would mean no VSS and a noted reduction in sound quality.

The wired equivalent from Sony is the Playstation Silver. Virtually the same specs as Gold, but with a flip-down boom mic (no noise cancellation). I own the Silver, and have commented on it in other threads. If you specifically want wired, they are a great option that support VSS through a single USB connection (third-party require USB for chat audio plus a toslink connection for game audio).

The Silver is available for just under $35 on Amazon; throw in a $1 item and get free shipping on your order.

PlayAsia also has them for $65(What I paid). They are for sure 1st party Japan exclusives, not modded or 3rd party. They look much better in person than in OP's pic. Note that the back LED does not light up the controller at all.

This product? https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Controller-DUALSHOCK-4-Crystal-Playstation/dp/B015S4JIWS

From the reviews (all good scores, basically troll 1-star ratings) and images, it seems fairly legit. Internal casing looks about right, genuine buttons and sticks.

>What signs can I look for when it arrives to tell if it is real or not?

Compare the buttons to a real DS4, feel the grip of the bottom of the controller and the thumbsticks (again compare). Plug and play, and note the colour that lights up (it should be orange/yellow like a normal controller on charge).

u/NaokiB4U · 1 pointr/PS4

Ummm.....what do you mean plain?

Dualshock controllers have WAY more variety than the Xbone controllers in regards to colors and designs.....mainly due to promotional partnerships. There's a Star Wars theme, CoD theme, Uncharted theme, etc.

Also hasn't Sony been making more money than Microsoft due to the sell through ratio being 2-1?

All that being said, I would die for an elite controller too.

u/poeticpoet · 1 pointr/StreetFighter

Ok first off hi! I'm beatlemnkyhuman a.k.a Jesus nice to meet you.

You don't need a stick

It's a luxury. Sticks are pricey and custom sticks can get really pricey. I've heard of players buying sticks and never using them so some buy them just for the swag but it is no longer needed.

Luffy won evo and went pro with a ps1 pad and he still uses a ps1 pad.

Punk went pro on pad, nuckledu is pro on pad coolkid plays pad.

you no longer need a stick

A stick will not make you better.
Contrary to popular belief a stick is not magic.

You will still have to work. In my personal experience, it took me 3 months or so to get over pad and get used to stick. If you did not grow up with a stick then there's no reason.

Next thing, if you did grow up with a stick then your memory maybe rose tinted in that your remembering being better then you ever were. Sticks take work just like pad.

If after all this you still want a stick:

I recommend focus attack for custom art work and big e customs for custom designs as that's what I use

[the te2 is the pro standard. Amazing stick, easy to mod. Sanwa buttons and sanwa stick.] (https://www.amazon.com/Fighter-FightStick-PlayStation4-PlayStation3-playstation-4/dp/B018AW405K/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1543512575&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=madcatz+te2%2B&dpPl=1&dpID=41vrhKHqO9L&ref=plSrch)

some players prefer the hori rap4 with hori parts. It's cheaper so the stick is a little more loose. Hori parts fully and difficult to mod

the qanba drone is seen as a cheap alternative. Sanwa buttons i think and if not it can be modded easily. Known to not last

The qanba dragon is a monster of a stick that goes for 300 and the obsidian goes for 200.

EDIT: The razr panthera is a pro favorite as well, impossible to mod the artwork but an amazing stick for 200

If you want to go custom from the ground up then you can do allfightsticks. Com which will give you a sleek heavy steel frame or marvelous customs.

Each of those custom sticks will run you 300 plus.

You can even go wood frame which may be even more expensive.

Good luck.

The HORI RAP 4 is a solid choice.

If you really want to go cheap the HORI Mini works well enough. If you stick with fightticks you will almost certainly replace it, which I did with the RAP 4. That said, the Mini still serves as my spare if anyone is over.

u/IIVV95 · 1 pointr/StreetFighter

The Hori Fighting Stick Mini seems pretty compact, although it's also cheap so the parts and build quality might not be too great. I don't know if it's mod-able at all either, so you might look into that before you pull the trigger on one.

You could also save some space on just about any stick by swapping the stock joystick shaft with a Phreak Mods Link. I can say from experience that being able to pop the stick off and put it in my pocket really makes the whole thing a lot less awkward to pack around, but the new shape of the shaft does take a little getting used to at first.

Also in Canada and have been watching prices - BestBuy has the core set (helmet only, no camera, games, or controllers) on sale until August 24 for $449 CAD (normally $549). Amazon.ca and EB Games were matching the price, but they might go back to $550 once the BestBuy sale ends.

I haven't been able to find the camera for less than $75, and I already have two Move controllers, so I pulled the trigger on this deal. Here's how it rang up with shipping to Ottawa:

> Item(s) Subtotal: $399.99

> Shipping & Handling: $34.93

> Promotion Applied: -$100.00

> Total before tax: $334.92

> Estimated tax to be collected: $0.00

> Import Fees Deposit $53.60

> Grand Total: $388.52

According to XE.com, that's currently $495 CAD. Considering the price of the included games, I don't think you can do better than this in Canada, even with the shipping, taxes, and exchange rate.

Edit: Here's the Amazon.ca price history for the core set and the camera. Game prices on the Canadian PS Store: $39.99 for RIGS, $24.99 for Until Dawn - Rush of Blood, $29.99 for VR Worlds.

Edit 2: Looks like Walmart.ca has the core for 399.99 CAD. Better deal if you already have the camera or don't want the games.

Been sold out since day 1 here in Tokyo, no where to even demo (Kinda ironic with Sony HQ here and a pop of 40 mil). People were getting from Amazon US and paying even more ($70+) for import duty fees/shipping But now Amazon US looks sold out too, same with the Pro.

I don't know where u are but apparently Amazon.ca has some at around normal price. Just checked and they're in stock for about $550 Canadian ($416 US dollars), new, free prime shipping, but don't think they ship outside Canada...

I also have this problem and what I did was used my PS4 earbuds that came with the console. I plug it in to my Xbox controller then use the clip to clip it to my headset wire that’s connected to my PC, by doing this you’re able to talk to your party using the PS4 mic while hearing and talking through your headset mic. No need to actually put the earbud in your ear because you’re getting the audio through your PC headset. Here’s a link to the earbuds in case you’re unfamiliar.

My two tips from my personal research:

    1. Best experience is Over-Ear Headphones that have an AUX wire. This gives you both 3D audio when plugged into helmet AUX, in addition to giving you optimal outside noise cancellation. Gives you the most immersion.
    1. Get headphones with wide gaps along the left and right sides of the band. The PSVR isn't mega thick, but is still confirmed to have broken thinner/less flexible headphones in the past.

Based on those two points, Turtlebeach has made VR-specific headphones that check all the boxes for high quality. The reviews when paired with PSVR are very high, so I ordered some myself.
u/Eckhart · 1 pointr/oculus

I used these for PSVR and they work great for Rift S too. Plus, they're amplified with a short cable and a bass adjustment and volume wheel of their own so you don't have to open dash to change the volume.

This is the one I use and it's amazing for the price point. Easily my favourite headset I've used.

u/armorall · 1 pointr/PS4

I paid full price for these ($80) because I needed a compatible headset for VR. That and my big ass head don't play very well with a lot of headsets. The padding on the band is nice and comfortable, but what really shines is whatever material they used around the cans. I haven't had a pair of headphones that have felt that good and don't cause irritation when wearing glasses.

Turtle Beach Stealth 350VR

They are extremely comfortable and versatile, use them for PS4 (VR and through the DS4), PC, and phone. That being said I used my previous headset for 5+ years so I haven't tested the water much so some of these things could be pretty standard. The amplifier stays charged for a pretty long time (Call it every other time I charge my DS4) and with the input cable being modular I can keep the long PC cable hooked up and swap out for the shorter cable for the DS4 and I can take the mic out if I just want to listen to music or something.

With them currently on sale at Amazon, it's a no brainer in my book.

u/LionOfLiberty0 · 1 pointr/PSVR

I almost got those myself, but then I discovered these on sale for less https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01GTL4YSW

u/ElPimentoDeCheese · 1 pointr/PS4

I bought these the other day and they sound great and the mic picks up really well.

u/DM_ · 1 pointr/ffxiv

The easiest way is buy the official Sony PS4 to PC adapter, but right now it's silly expensive. Here.

As for getting it to work how it worked previously, I can't recommend much because I don't know what you changed since it worked last. I would suggest getting rid of programs you installed recently that allow manipulation of the ps4 controller and start from scratch. Steam should be smart enough to pick it up and configure it rumble included if the controller is wired under normal circumstances.

u/Skubidus · 1 pointr/RocketLeague

Well if you don't have a dongle and the cable not connected, how would the controller transmit the data to your pc then? ;)

This is what you'll need to play wirelessly with your Dualshock 4 on PC:

https://www.amazon.de/DualShock-4-USB-Wireless-Adaptor/dp/B01KHFIO82

u/Astr0Scot · 1 pointr/PlayStationNow

Try running DS4Windows.

It'll set your DS4 up as an Xinput/360 controller which will act as a PS3 controller and work perfectly for any games that don't need the specific DS4 capabilities (options button etc).

To get the DS4 capabilities you need one of these:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PlayStation-DualShock-Wireless-Adaptor/dp/B01KHFIO82

u/Frinpollog · 1 pointr/Steam
  1. Did you check the box for PlayStation controller support in big picture mode? I ask this since you’re implying you connected the PS3 controller in some other fashion.

  2. Steam Input lets you customize your configuration, but ultimately will either output as a m/kb, or a Xbox controller, or both. Some games (ex. Okami) fully support SIAPI and will recognize your controller as such. You can check out r/steamcontroller for more information.

  3. On that note, some games support DS4 natively to various degrees (Rocket League is one). I use a wired connection but what I do is enable PS controller support across the board, and then individually set the controller option to “Forced off”. It’s up to the developers to set up DS4 controls, and most just rely on Xinput (Xbox controller style).

  4. Windows will always see the DS4 as a generic controller (dinput). At this point you need Steam or an API wrapper [like DS4Windows] if you want to use it on modern games.

  5. Those drivers you mention could’ve interfered with the PS4 controller. If you’re done with the dualshock 3, then remove the drivers entirely. If not, still remove those drivers replace them with the drivers that come with PS Now. Steam Input also supports the PS3 controller.

  6. Bluetooth connections are sometimes finicky. It really just depends on the model and brand of the adapter. There are other ways to connect it wirelessly: Sony made this stick if you really want PS Buttons, but are overpriced nowadays due to lack of demand. If you can deal with Xbox buttons, there are other brands like Brook and Mayflash.
u/ratchetsrevenge · 1 pointr/pcgamingtechsupport
u/Blieque · 1 pointr/Android

Hello again. I just tried to get something working and had no luck, over Bluetooth or USB OTG, with ePSXe (PlayStation 1) or PPSSPP (PSP). I think it might be a combination of changes in new versions of Android and alterations made by OnePlus in OxygenOS. Sixaxis Controller may work on the 3T, but it does require root access and hasn't been confirmed to work beyond Android Marshmallow to my knowledge.

As for PC, I can get it working nicely over USB and Bluetooth on Linux (using ds4drv). On Windows, however, Bluetooth disconnects after a few seconds. Ubisoft's Steep has DS4 support, but DS4Windows can be used for games that only have Xbox controller support. I'm thinking about getting the official Sony USB Bluetooth adaptor. It can be bought for £20 in some places, which still isn't cheap, but it should be guaranteed to work on Windows and macOS.

You talking about this?

That is the only official Sony adapter I can find, it is no were near the same size as most adapters, most are much better than the usb connector.

From what I have seen, it is also said to be at end of life, so hard to find new were I live and the cheapest new is 65+ delivery.

So if I was to buy it new, it would be much much bigger(the thing is fucking huge) than an all purpose and much more expensive.

In the UK we have the official Sony part, which (I think) is MUCH MUCH nicer :P

I've personally used Razer, Madcatz, and Qanba 360 sticks on Xbox One using this usb adapter. It requires you to have a xbox one controller on hand that it copies the controller ID from (and you can't use that controller while the fightstick is plugged in), but otherwise works flawlessly.

Because we're just better than everyone else, of course ;)
But seriously, not sure why it says that on Amazon, you can totally buy the controller in other countries too

I was just planning to use a pair of Astro A40 headsets. Always found them to be the most comfortable. I tried researching but are there special adapters needed or do they connect via 3.5 headphone jack?

I see that TB is coming out with their own VR headset as well.

I fucked around with DS4 for a while until I found out there’s a sony wireless adapter for pc. It’s a bit expensive but it works like a charm.

Qanba Obsidian

Hori Fighting Edge

Hori Real Arcade Pro N Hayabusa

All come with high-quality parts. They are also all common enough to find artwork print and plexi services for them.

I primarily play Overwatch on PC, but bought the GOTY edition for $38 on PSN last weekend during the sale because I have a lot of friends who only play on console and I miss playing with them.

I, too, was struggling with using a controller versus mouse and keyboard, so I dug out my ConsoleTuner Titan One that I bought at least 2 years ago. I originally purchased it to play Battlefield and CoD on console with a m&kb, but gave up because it was un-intuitive to setup and it always felt like there was some strange mouse acceleration that would throw my aim off.

I spent at least an hour or two configuring their "MaxAIM DI" software, which is a royal pain because, again, it's very un-intuitive. However, once I got my mouse settings straightened out and I mapped all of my keyboard buttons to match what I was used to on PC, I played a few matches and it was fantastic.

The Titan One costs $56, so it's about 1/3 the price of the XIM4. While I don't wholeheartedly recommend it for non-technical-minded people, it provides a nice workaround if all you want is to play with mouse & keyboard on console and have the time to spend tweaking mouse settings in their app. If you are a tech-minded person, the device fully supports custom scripting, where you can make a single keypress do anything you want. For example, normally your sensitivity is lower when ADS-ing in CoD on console, but I found a script to disable sensitivity slowdown when right-clicking (aiming down sight).

One downfall, which I quickly discovered, is that there is no way for you to talk in Party or Game Chat when using the Titan One on console. There are a few workarounds that I've found online, but I haven't personally tried any of them to confirm if they really work. That being said, I haven't played Overwatch on console since that first night using the Titan One, because of the chat issues, and have been grinding on PC instead.

Edit: One thing I forgot to mention is that the Titan One also requires your PC to be connected to the device that's plugged-in to your console at all times, so it's not a standalone adapter; you need to have the software running on your PC and "Enable capture mode" to play with it. Therefore, if you're on a shared family PC that's not right next to your PS4 where you game, it likely isn't a good option for you.
