He promised Bio a really cool gift that was supposed to be delivered Winter 2014, but turns out he can't afford to participate until April 4. It all worked out though because the guys over at Square Enix paid for Bio's replacement and it's really really cool.

FFS People are already pre-ordering FF7 remake which has yet to have hardly any actual coverage on how the game will play let alone any hint of a release date outside of 'Maybe by the end of 2017, but most likely holiday 2018'.
And for what here? What do you get pre-ordering it now instead of just ordering it the day before it comes out? NOTHING, they aren't going to run out of stock of this game and they are giving you NOTHING for putting that money up now. At least with Early Access (still troublesome) you at least get SOMETHING to play now and see along with maybe some goodies.

Probably discounted due to the upcoming release (late-2019 for Japan, sometime in 2020 for everywhere else) of Persona 5: The Royal. Persona 5: The Royal will only be for PS4, though.

Yes. One thing you'll quickly find out about the FF fandom is that opinions will vary wildly. It's best to just pick one of the more well-regarded games and go with it.
I personally dislike FFX quite a bit, but I still agree with /u/NoLeafClover777 that it is probably one of the best places to start for a newbie.

From a quick look it seems that the reviews are sent as a response to the intial GET request on amazon and aren't loaded with AJAX. This should make things relatively straightforward.
The way I would go about this is get the url to the product reviews you want. For FFXV it is:

For each page, after you receive the response, you need to parse the page for reviews somehow. I would recommend using xpath. Using the following snippet "//div[@data-hook='review']" you should be able to pull all the reviews from each page.
If you want to test this out open a review page and open the chrome dev console and type in $x("//div[@data-hook='review']") this should return an array of reviews for the page you run it on.
Next you'll need to move the reviews to the client. I'm not sure how you will be putting them on the website so I can't help you much there. If there is a form or something you can inspect the network packets using chrome dev tools and try to recreate the requests.
If there is a form or something it'll probably be a POST request with some fields. You would then pair the form fields to the corresponding data from amazon and submit the request.
If you are completely unfamiliar with what I've just typed out it'll take quite some time. On the other hand if you write it well it could be reusable in the future and that'd probably look pretty good on you.

The games you need are Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX (comes out in March) and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue (already out). Next year, the series will finish with the release of Kingdom Hearts III.
To get the full story, you pretty much have to play every game. A couple of them aren't as important, but you'll still miss something if you skip them. The remixes only include the cut scenes for some games, which is enough if you just want the story.

Amazon price tag for console versions is set at $60. While they could set it lower on PC (deservedly so, considering how we already have nicer looking mods), I doubt they will. As for your songs questions: You can buy old DLC online or in the in-game store. If you bought the exports back in the day (under the same account name, on the same console family, and currently if you're not in Europe because SIEE is kinda being dicks), you can import those into RB4. If you did not buy the exports back in the day, there is literally no way to get them anymore because the licenses to sell them have expired and thus you can't get them in RB4 (except Rock Band 3 and a few handfuls of songs that were re-released as normal DLC, such as some songs in Blitz and in the Mega Pack released recently). Any old DLC you had can be downloaded (except a few stragglers that are being difficult and RBN tracks). Currently there is no way to do customs (that I know of, but it's not my scene, so maybe there is). For all other "old game" questions, please see the Export Megathread or the kickass export Wiki BravoGangUS put together (both available in the sidebar)

I picked it up and played about 15 minutes worth yesterday. The two cars I tried felt completely different in the 2 races I ran.

I can go on an on. This notion that PC games are cheaper than consoles hasn't been true for at least two years now. Not only do new games go on sale for just as cheap, if not cheaper, they are on sale more consistently, and you can also buy used versions for even cheaper.

If you want to get caught up with the story, there's a 1.5+2.5 collection bundle coming out in March for the PS4. It contains 4 games and two movies. After that, you just need KH2.8 (releasing in 8 days) which contains 2 games and a movie for the PS4. These two purchases contain all 9 stories in the Kingdom Hearts saga for you to enjoy as part of Nomura's promise on having all the games on one console. After that, you'll be completely ready for KH3.

As for my opinion on the game, It's an okay game if you're looking for a traditional "Futuristic Shooter". I happen to be of Titanfall origin so these shooters are the norm for me. Though I haven't played Bo3 back when it was relevant, I can say that IW is pretty good. I loved AW with the variants, and this game brings them back in a mild form, however, after they added the 600+ new DLC content into supply drops, I almost quit the game seeing that I had less of a chance to get the variant I want.
As for MWR, my only experience with "Boots on the ground" is CSGO; my favorite game as of now. It didn't give me the nostalgia like others say it has, rather it gave me a slower, war-like game. I don't play it often but sniping is definitely fun.
All-in-all, this price is probably the lowest it has ever been. Definitely give it a try if you have an open mind.

That’s some effective storytelling, right!! “The Last of Us 2” should be excellent as well - I originally didn’t want another story with Joel and Ellie since the first was such a perfect game, but I’ve warmed up to it since the people making it are so incredibly talented.
If you haven’t yet played the Uncharted games, I would recommend those next. The Uncharted collection of the first three games is often on sale (it’s only $20 which is a great price for three games, but it gets as low as $8 if you wait for it). And then Uncharted 4 with the Lost Legacy addon to complete the series. I see UC4 as low as $18 on Amazon right now, and a download code for Lost Legacy for $25 on Amazon as well.

According to PsPrices.com the lowest that Uncharted 4 has ever been was $16, and the lowest Lost Legacy has been was $20, so those are pretty good prices. I would definitely recommend playing all four of them, even though the first one/two are a little dated - they’ve been remastered and the series starts off really good but progressively becomes one of the best series in the history of gaming. It’ll scratch your Indiana Jones itch, and story-wise you’ll really be glad you got to know Nathan Drake over the course of several games rather than jumping right into 4 and Lost Legacy.
And of course, God of War just bumped to the 2nd best rated PS4 game of all time with 95 on Metacritic and the best game of the year so far — it comes out in 2 days. The father/son dynamic of the game might be an interesting next game to play, although it’ll be more action oriented I think. Glad you finally got to play TLOU!

It depends on what is most convenient for you. Everyone has their favorite Final Fantasy's for various reasons (mine happen to be VI, VII and X).
Many of the games have come out on the PC through Steam recently so if you don't mind playing them on PC, that's the best way to go. There was also an HD Remaster for X and X-2 that released on the PS4.
You can also buy many of them on the Google Play or iOS app stores. Although playing them on your phone or tablet isn't the "best" way to experience the games, it can be a convenient way to play on the go.

The collections are the newest versions of these games. Kingdom Hearts 1.5, Kingdom Hearts 2.5, and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 are the collections. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 is just both of those two collections on a single disc, but made for the PS4 rather than the PS3.
The cheapest way to get these games is either to get 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 used, or to buy The Story So Far, which is a digital version of all of the collections, which include all of the games so far. It's only $40, and you get six games and three movies (358/2 Days, Re:Coded, and X: Back Cover are all movies). All in One is exactly like The Story So Far, but also includes Kingdom Hearts 3. It's $100, so you don't save any money by getting All in One rather than The Story So Far.

Yes, Royal has better visuals. P5 was originally announced to come out in Winter 2014 for PS3, but then it got delayed a lot, and at a point they realised it would be stupid not to release for the PS4, so it's essentially like a simultaneously released remaster.
P5R is made exclusively for the PS4, so they're cranking up the visuals coz they don't have to worry about how it'll run on the PS3.
It seems like it's cheaper on Flipkart right now than Amazon. Dunno if they're still including that beautiful controller skin with the standard edition, but I got it with my physical copy.

Bethesda knows the vast majority of pc gamers aren't willing to spend $60 (yes fucking $60) on what will be a marginal improvement to the base game that players can already achieve through current mods. This edition's main selling point is mod integration which the PC version has always had meaning there is little to no reason why PC gamers will rebuy this game. Yet without the pc there is no modding community, thus no mods for consoles, which is Bethesda's target demographic. Here Bethesda's intentions are clear, it is giving the game to PC gamers for free because it 1) Knows that PC gamers have no desire to rebuy a remaster of this games and 2) it wants to outsource mod development for consoles to pc gamers, thereby enticing console gamers their target demographic to buy the game at full price. In other words, there is no such thing as a free lunch.

I bought it from Amazon for $40 about a year after it came out. I suspect I'll be able to buy God of War (2018) for the same price in the first half of 2019. I do get most of my best patient deals on the PlayStation Store but I think these PS4 first-party exclusives tend to have a price drop pattern on Amazon. I think they want as many people to play them as possible so they can lock people into franchises and thereby lock them in to PlayStation consoles. That's what I would do. I don't bother with Nintendo because of their pricing strategy. I rarely pay full price for games.

Absolutely buy. I'm a huge Souls fan and the combat feels great in MHW. The non-story based multiplayer quests are a lot of fun with friends and you can pretty much build out your character as you see fit depending on your play style and preferred weapon. The game systems are deep and layered, and although they have a steep learning curve, they will keep you engaged in the game for well over a hundred hours.

you can get the game for way less than $60 now. Amazon is selling it for $43.11. I had it on my PS3 and then got the PS4 that included GTA V as a Christmas present. you don't even need friends to play with. you'll meet plenty if you join a crew (which I highly recommend doing). but yea, the story alone is worth buying the game.

I mean, what makes any game fun? Just gotta find what you get joy out of and look for games that suit your tastes. I grew up on Final Fantasy and loved the fantastical stories wrapped up with fun and interesting casts of characters. There are some thematic things that carry over from one game to the next, but the numbered games don't connect to one another as sequels or whatever, so which games from the series you enjoy usually boils down to preference. Especially since the series basically reinvents itself with every new game.

Normally I'd suggest picking up the FFX remaster that came out not too long ago and giving it a shot, because I just think it's the series' peak in character development and storytelling. But if the old school fighter/mage/thief trifecta more appeals to you, you might consider FF9 instead, which is my second favorite game in the series.

Depends on where you're looking. Mass Effect is a classic scifi space opera. Deus Ex and the most recent Shadowrun games are solidly cyberpunk. Fallout is post-apocalyptic.

This is where you're going to have to dip more into CRPGs. Pillars of Eternity. The recent Tyrrany. I mentioned Shadowfall just above. It's definitely something I miss from most WRPGs though, I like the banter and depth of story granted from playing with party NPCs.

I'm not entirely sure what you hated about DAI since you didn't elaborate, but I do agree that the game was pretty lacking. If you liked the promise of DAI but didn't like the execution, you might go back and try Dragon Age: Origins. It's not perfect, but the game has a hell of a lot more soul than DAI does.

As for your problem, there is a minor setting ingame that speeds up a little, but to your liking you can use external speed enhancer programs with no problem since it is no vac-single player.

Once you have both of those games play through the first linked game and play through it in the exact order its presented as on the disc. Once you complete the disc all the way through play the second game in the exact same fashion. Once you complete that you're ready for KH3. On top of those you can also explore the mobile KH game but it's not required.
If you follow my instructions listed above you won't miss a beat about the KH franchise and will be completely ready for the newest game.
I'd suggest going for the kingdom hearts the story so far (minus 3) it's about 40$ usd, and has kh1 final mix, chain of memories re, kh2 final mix, recoded and 358/2 days "movies", birth by sleep, dream drop distance, kh2.8, and the hour long movie or so to hint at kh3 stuff. If you have never played a oh game this is a great set to get, but if you can find the 1.5+2.5 collection and 2.8 for cheaper, go for that as they are the same thing down to the bit from what I've heard.
Edit: you can also get a collection of all of them and kh3 on the psn for 100$ USD with kh1.5 and 2.5+ 2.8 as downloadable as of the purchase

I could preorder on Steam, pre-download it, play it on release, then if I like it, refund it and buy it cheaper for $40. Seems easier/quicker than renting and then waiting a couple of weeks when it's cheaper, then having to wait for them to deliver, and probably pay for delivery depending on your location.

I think outside of indie games we are seeing that, and even in those cases often the digital versions are the same price.
The issue is: does the MSRP really matter? Like for example the MSRP of the PS4 Skyrim is $60 just like the Switch. But the actual price of the game on Amazon is $30 and its been under $40 since early Feburary. Does the MSRP still matter in that case?
I think the answer is "yes" personally, but a lot of people don't see it that way and only care what the actual current price is.

GTA V regularly goes on sale for $15 now. Also, last year I was able to trade it in for $30 in credit, with a pro membership and a trade-in promo.
People here really expect to walk in Gamestop any day of the week and get half the MSRP for their old ass games. Get real.
If you want to beat Gamestop you have to be smarter than they are. Trade in before you know the value of a game is going to drop, or after the value is going to rise. Scout for underpriced games on Facebook Marketplace and Reddit. Don’t put in the work, don’t expect any gains.

I'm 100% sure you can wait for Black Friday and snag a normal PS4 for 199 and the 2 games for around 60 bucks. Spending 200-300 bucks for a console which has as many killer exclusive as the PS4 isn't anyway an unrealistic ask.

Why in the world do you think $50 is fair when the PS4 version is $15 fucking dollars.
The steam version isn't a remaster. It isn't a remake. It doesn't have any new content. So why is it so much more expensive than the PS4 version when the game has been out for ages? Why would I pay $50 when I know I'll have to shell out another $40 for Rev 2, when I can wait for Rev 2 which includes all previous DLC. But if they announce Rev 3 or the next GG game in that time frame, I'll have to skip Rev 2 as well.
I find it ridiculous people continue to defend staggered release schedules. There is literally no benefit other than being a blatant cash grab that gives the company more money. Rockstar did it 3 times with GTAV, and yet people were willing to shell out as much as $180 for a single game with no additional content. But at least that wasn't a fighting game, a genre that lives or dies based on player retention. I don't think you realize how long a year is when it comes to fighting games. Some games don't even last that long.
UMvC3 being $30 is just as insulting. Or $40 Ultra Street Fighter 2 on the Switch. People expect prices to drop with age, and considering how much shit Activision gets for only knocking $5 off Call of Duty every two years, you'd think people wouldn't defend dumb business practices just because a game they like is doing it.
If you're good enough to notice the notes you hit get dropped, you're gonna upset pretty quick. They've improved since release, but they're still terrible. I'm almost failing songs with lots of red/yellow or bass pedal because the kit can't handle the songs. I struggle to gold star 0 and 1 difficulty songs because of the dropped notes.
If I have to pay more money for the fix or for a better kit, I will never buy another thing from them.
Buy Rock Band 3 and forget this exists for now. If there is another release in the future... maybe it will be better. For now, stay away. I literally bought a PS4 JUST to have Rockband 4... but I could not be more disappointed.
Edit: I'm a drummer and don't care about the guitar. I don't hear many complaints about the guitar anymore.
