I really like the Victorinox watches. Currently saving up for one now.
I am really partial to the INOX
The Maverick series, and the Officers day / date are really nice too.
Others that come to mind are Tissot, Laco, and Citizen
Timex Intelligent Quartz Men's Flyback.
I should add that the strap I have on mine is from one of these
I just got a pocket watch, it's like a gentleman's jewelry. Fuck social norms, I WANTED A POCKET WATCH SO I GOT ONE.
Nope. Just a cheapo repro. Here's an example on Amazon. I sincerely hope you weren't charged much for it.
So, everyone here is putting up shopping sites that have sciency-stuff, but I thought I would put up a series of actual gifts that I think are cool (and kind of sciency):
Northpaw (gives you the ability to navigate via magnetic north):

The most useless machine ever:

You're probably going to look for pin watch or lapel watch. Like these.
C'mon...gimme.

Gift Two I'll use this to get to know you two better if you know what I mean ;)
It's 150$ of worth it.

I would consider the Orient Bambino if you want a great alternative.
Here are some examples of some similar watches at a budget price.

I'd like to suggest you look into Seiko's solar or kinetic watches. (They don't use batteries, rather light or motion to charge a capacitor to store the energy instead of a spring.) People who aren't particularly into watches don't always appreciate an automatic... having to set the time every time you go to put it on if you don't wear it nearly every day. As a friend of mine put it, "I thought the watch was supposed to tell you the time." Smart ass.
For size, I'd look at 38-42mm for a random group of guys. Some might argue smaller for dress watches but I think a bit bigger is better if you want them to use it after the wedding.
As far as dial color, I'd go white or light silver. Roman numerals or non-numeric markers are generally more formal than aerobic numerals, but that's not a hard rule.
I didnt search too hard, but here's some inspiration...

Do you prefer them to be battery operated or hand wind?
If you want a hand wind watch, the Gotham company makes some nice ones. Here is nice one for example: https://www.amazon.com/Gotham-Silver-Tone-Mechanical-Desktop-GWC14051SB-ST/dp/B00PKTKTG6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1484574897&sr=8-3&keywords=gotham+pocket+watch+mechanical
One disadvantage to these modern day Chinese made watches is they cannot be repaired or serviced. Typically, mechanical watches need maintenance every 4 years or so or else they stop working. When this happens, you have to get a replacement. Keep this in mind if you want to go a modern pocket watch.
An alternative to the modern pocket watch would be a dollar pocket watch. Dollar pocket watches were inexpensive alternative to the standard pocket watches that were sold when pocket watches were popular. Despite being inexpensive, they are quite sturdy and built to last. They are also American made and repairable. The downside to these are they are less accurate than the modern day pocket watch. A modern day watch gains or loses 1 minute a day whereas a dollar watch drifts by 2-3 minutes a day.
If you want a dollar watch, you have to go on Ebay. Here is an example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1936-WESTCLOX-POCKET-BEN-Mechanical-Winding-Pocket-Watch-Serviced-made-in-USA-/252700643828?hash=item3ad621d1f4:g:w0sAAOSw-0xYZC6l
If you go the dollar watch route, make sure the seller says it has been serviced, and make sure the movement is held together with screws instead of rivets. A watch with rivets cannot be repaired.
I hope this helps.
Dat is a nice canvas. I mean a really nice Canvas. 6 yards?! You could literally paint allll the the things!
Both of these are on my randoms list:
From my Doctor Who list is this badass FOB watch. Why do I want it? Because it is a badass FOB watch lol.
Excellent contes... question to ask! Thanks for doing so!
Looks like a Stuhrling watch, a Swiss company.
Link to a pocket watch that uses the movement, notice the fantastic reviews because it is a great movement for the price.
Link to a pocket watch that uses a variation of the movement where the mysterious hand above the moon-dial has been removed and replaced with a sub-dial for seconds instead.
It is used in wristwatches aswell.
I'm partial to the Fred Constant I listed below but you don't really have a lot of good options it seems as in modern watches the smallest they are going for men's size is 38mm. You may be best served with looking at some vintage watches. Timex, Tissot, Bulova, and Omega were some popular manufacturers that might be worth investigating for options.

In that case, I would recommend a mechanical. They are just more interesting. This might be nice. You can look in and see the movement from both sides. Watching the balance wheel rotate back and forth can be very hypnotic.
I think I found it... But can't be sure as there isn't much info around on this thing.

There looks to be an hours subdial that goes to 12

This hair clip is cute and cheap.
This headband is SUPER cute!
Necklace / Necklace watch / feather necklace /
All / of / these / super / cute / bracelets
Harry potter accessories
I could go on, but you get the idea [: Check out niceEshop and SODIAL's profiles on Amazon for cheap stuff :P Oh, and if I happen to win, anything that I linked here would be awesome! Good luck and thanks for the contest!
EDIT: I love boobies!
My other option is something like this Gotham watch, which is mechanical (in theory) but looks like it's cheap as hell. But if its between that and a quartz Tissot, not sure what's the better option. Any advice?
Link to Amazon for it
Disneystore version
I suppose that fake is not he right word. In fact, it never actually claims to be antique, or even masonic for that matter! none the less, the design on the front is actually from another pocket watch that is advertised as being masonic: http://www.amazon.com/Lodge-Square-Compasses-Masonic-Pocket/dp/B0050E94TY. well, the brass-colored one is still a good deal with the correct symbol, its still pretty interesting.

There's also this one by Cospa
Found it on Amazon JP it seems legit, maybe would find someone a little more fluent in Japanese to double check the page over for you though
Doctor Who Pocket Watch is listed as highest.
CONGRATULATIONS!!
I think that a good Doctor Who pocketwatch would make me look like an old posh geeky Englishman. (I think this covers numerous entries on the list haha)
Its off my Doctor Who list.
Fob watch, Dang girl.
