OP listen to /u/crazyherb. Psyllium husks. This shit is amazing and your shit will be too.

Those fancy flavoured ones in the supplement store in big plastic bottles are expensive, and may even be packed in individual sachets which jacks the price up even more. Psyllium husk capsules are also expensive and the quantity is way too little to really make a difference.

Go to a natural food store or amazon and buy it in bulk, unflavoured, cheap. No need to get those processed into powder or drink mixes or whatever. Just get the whole husks. Single ingredient. Mix into dilute vegetable or fruit juice for palability if you don't like the taste in plain water.

If you let it sit for a couple of minutes afer mixing it thickens up, which might make swallowing harder but I have a (scientifically unfounded) feeling that it makes it more effective.

Start with 1 heaping tablespoon full in a glass of water/juice twice a day. Drink lots of water throughout the day. Do this together with a well balanced diet with lots of whole foods and vegetables and I hope you will feel much better soon.

Not trying to imply that you're lactose intolerant, but consider trying to give up dairy for a couple of weeks and see how you feel. Won't hurt you at all if nothing happens, but might give you surprising results.

Great post!

I'd like to add one thing about maintaining a clean/empty colon. Hell, before I get started, let's talk about the colon: it's basically the digestive "out box", where the stool rests when it's done being processed by the body and waiting to be passed. For a lot of people, the colon will naturally be empty or close to empty for most of the day, and anal prep can be as simple as checking (or simply feeling) whether your colon is empty or not. As Dan Savage says: you wouldn't perform oral with a mouth full of food, so don't try anal with an ass full of shit!

One way to help keep things moving smoothly is to eat the right mix of fiber. I have found that it's not just any old fiber - it's gotta be the right mix of soluble and insoluble fiber. Famous "good digestion foods such as apples and oatmeal qualify, but these foods also come packaged as a meal (with calories, carbs, sugars, etc) and may not be appealing for everyone. One non-nutritive option that I love is psyllium husk. This stuff is basically pure fiber, and its mix of soluble/insoluble fiber is just perfect for awesome digestion. Basically, if you eat the right amount of this stuff, your BMs will be perfect and it makes it so that you basically don't have to wipe! It promotes your colon going from full to totally empty, with little or nothing left behind. Even if you do want to douche before anal sex, I think this stuff will help most people be even cleaner.

Anyone interested in taking psyllium husk can buy it as Metamucil (which is filled with sugar to make it taste better; I don't recommend this) or buy the husks themselves to mix into a shake. You can also buy capsules, though you have to swallow like 6-8 per day to get the right dose. Regardless, I'd say just 5 g (or maybe 10 g) per day of fiber from psyllium will help you maintain a cleaner colon. Just make sure to keep hydrated while you start out on it since fiber can soak up water to some degree.

I ran into this problem recently when I upped my protein intake and stopped eating as much bread. Somebody on here recommended something called Psyllium Husk. I bought some and have been taking it for the last four days. 9 g of fiber per serving.

I took a one foot long shit when I went home for lunch today. I'm not exaggerating. The stuff tastes AWFUL, but I mix it with my orange flavored BCAAs and it tastes fine. Just have to pound it because the texture isn't great.

u/PantalonesPantalones · 8 pointsr/xxfitness

My time to shine! I take 1 tbsp of this whole psyllium husk once a day. It reappears about 20 hours later so I time it. It's a lot different than those fine ground powders though. It will coagulate and turn into a mass in your stomach and then work its way through you like a 360* snowplow.

alright here goes my exhaustive list of stuff that goes into my preworkout! i love to research the stuff that works, and then experiment to see how effectively they work for me, especially on keto.

  1. 1 scoop of pre jym from bodybuilding.com - just because i don't want to add all those ingredients (good compared to most) on my own and it tastes pretty good (raspberry lemonade). it does, however, have 4g carbs per scoop - https://www.bodybuilding.com/store/jym/pre-jym.html

  2. 1/2 scoop of optimum nutrition hydrowhey protein powder (about 15g protein) - fast digesting preworkout protein seems more logical than just bcaas. keeps me satiated during my workout and seems to boost recovery times because i have the full gamut of proper amino acids in my bloodstream as exercise-induced insulin rises. turbo chocolate and chocolate peanut butter are my favorites. vanilla surprisingly sucks and gets very foamy - https://www.bodybuilding.com/store/opt/platinum_hydrowhey.html

  3. 1 tsp curcumin powder from bulk supplements - expensive but 1kg lasts a long time - go to examine.com to see the dozens of benefits it has across the board. i use this to help alleviate my disc issues, but it feels great for workouts because it reduces inflammation everywhere, especially joints. you can get pills instead, but they're not as cost effective and i like to blend it into my shakes. MAKE SURE YOU PAIR IT WITH BIOPERINE (already in pre jym but super cheap anyway) OR GET THE BIO AVAILABLE TYPES. otherwise, only your gut will get the benefits -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GHY364A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

  4. 1 digestive enzyme pill - research has shown that such enzymes not only help with what you'd expect, digestion, but also boost muscle synthesis, immune system, reduce soreness, etc. - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RH5K26I/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  5. 1 tbsp extra citrulline malate - because 1 scoop of pre-jym doesn't have the clinical dose of around 8g. research has shown that it reduces soreness and speeds up muscle repair. i believe it helps performance as well - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EYDJU50/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  6. EDIT: 1/2 tsp (not 2 tsp) extra beta alanine - because 1 scoop of pre-jym doesn't have enough. this stuff kinda acts like creatine, boosting the number of reps you can do. especially helpful on my high rep/speed days. great for crossfit types of workouts if you're into those. i like the tingly feeling as well - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EIO4I8E/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  7. 1/2 tsp potassium citrate - i take electrolytes before and during my workouts -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ENSA93S/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  8. 1/16 tsp magnesium glycinate - one of the most bioavailable forms of mg and doesn't mess up your digestion -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F7OZJR8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  9. 1/2 tsp calcium citrate - Ca and Mg go well together in the body. also, multivitamins rarely hit the RDA for calcium -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F8I5XPG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  10. 1/2 tsp pink salt - sodium! need lots of it because i sweat a lot - https://www.samsclub.com/sams/himalayan-pink-salt-5-lb-fine-grain/prod20131268.ip

  11. 1/4 tsp vitamin c - i take a lot of vit C to help with disc healing. collagen synthesis requires vit C. of course, great anti-oxidant, great for skin, etc. -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AYIM9Y8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  12. 1/2 tsp ALCAR - i supplement this mostly for the nootropic effect (boosts the brain and concentration), but it supposedly helps with fat breakdown and energy a little bit. i feel razor sharp concentrated during my workouts with this. also, it's just plain old good for the brain. -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E7H96DY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  13. 200 mg L-theanine - smooths out the jittery feeling from caffeine to provide more stable energy. also good before bed to get higher quality of sleep. -
    https://www.amazon.com/BulkSupplements-Pure-L-Theanine-Powder-grams/dp/B00E7GESLA/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492089341&sr=8-1&keywords=bulk%2Bl-theanine&th=1

  14. 100mg pill RALA - good for the nervous system and energy - https://www.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Stabilized-R-Lipoic-BioEnhanced/dp/B000I4C19G/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492089382&sr=8-1&keywords=doctor%27s+best+rala

  15. 200mg coq10 - good for the heart, boosts energy a bit - https://www.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Absorption-Bioperine-Supplement/dp/B00HRGN36S/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492089466&sr=8-2&keywords=doctor%27s%2Bbest%2Bcoenzyme%2Bq10&th=1

  16. 320mg saw palmetto extract pill - good for men's prostate health, keeps good testosterone high (instead of DHT), and for me, prevents the hairloss that creatine (i think) has induced. not just bs bro science, go to examine.com for research. i personally have regrown a lot of hair by taking 2-3 three of these a day for the last three months! - https://www.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Palmetto-Softgels-Count/dp/B006RQ6TAG/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492092375&sr=8-1&keywords=doctor%27s+best+saw+palmetto

  17. 1 tbsp psyllium husk powder - keeps my digestion on track, prevents the indigestion i tend to get from MCT oil - https://www.amazon.com/Bulksupplements-Pure-Psyllium-Powder-grams/dp/B0100QRXOO/ref=sr_1_2?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1492092483&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=psyllium%2Bhusk%2Bpowder&th=1

  18. 10g MCT oil - i either use brain octane or miCkey T Eight because they are pure C-8 caprylic acid instead of blends of the crappier acids. definitely boosts energy during long workouts. careful, it tends to mess with your stomach if you don't ease into it. if you're good with coconut oil, you're probably good with this. - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RUCHISS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  19. 100mg hyaluronic acid - helps with joints and skin. i have noticed my knee and elbow pain going away while taking this. skin complexion also improved. - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00663G8WO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    currently experimenting with:

  20. clear muscle - i usually supplement HMB, but this is the newer liquid variant. its pricey, and i haven't noticed anything bad about it, but it's hard to say if it's working better than the much cheaper powdered HMB. studies are probably very biased, so i can't really trust them - https://www.amazon.com/MuscleTech-Advanced-Strength-Building-Capsules/dp/B00JQ3WXS4/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492094034&sr=8-1&keywords=clear+muscle

  21. phospha muscle - phosphatidic acid has shown some promise in studies, but again, probably biased research. also cannot tell yet, but i have seen some decent strength gains pairing this with clear muscle. we'll see! - https://www.amazon.com/MuscleTech-Phospha-Clinically-Phosphatidic-SoftGels/dp/B00UVAG1PM/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492094155&sr=8-1&keywords=phospha+muscle

phew! making this list made me realize how much time and effort i put into the trial and error of my preworkout. of course, i supplement a lot of this stuff with my other meals as well. as you can see, i'm very big on supplements, biohacking, and nootropics. i read up a lot on research in my spare time.

If you're not getting enough fiber...

Try this fiber brand https://www.amazon.com/KONSYL-PHARMACEUTICALS-Original-Formula-Ounce/dp/B00QIZMY00/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1483316586&sr=8-1&keywords=psyllium+konsyl

I have Crohn's and have tried every fiber available - this is by far my favorite. Mix it with a hand blender and drink ASAP as it will become a lot harder to drink as it absorbed water.

It's like drinking sand but works by far the best.

u/HornsOfApathy · 4 pointsr/marriedredpill

No idea if this is safe for you, but it works for me. Only side effects are if I take too much Ash it can cause itching. I've also gotten a bottle of it before (different brand) that made me itchy as fuck.

If anyone out there has suggestions or improvements, happy to take them!

Edit: I forgot the best side effect of this stack: my cum is fucking massive. Every single fucking day. Easily 4x what it was before. Sometimes if I go a 3 days without cumming you need to grab a towel, not a rag. Fuck the old dribbly small amounts that clumped together before, I can shoot this shit everywhere and it has great viscosity for full facials.

You might just prep some keto bread. It's worth having on hand, you can freeze slices. You'll have room on the menu if nothing else appeals. Make toast or grilled cheese, smear on peanut butter, or make a mug bread/cake. Getting something bready can help.

Husk is a glue similar to xanathum gum. It helps keep almond flour from crumbling.

u/YELLING_IN_YOUR_HEAD · 2 pointsr/EDAnonymous

Sure! Here's what I've personally tried so far.

Sunergetic Brand. I've purchased this brand the most and it's what sold me on the supplement in the first place. Though, $20 might be steep for some people for only 240 capsules. (At four capsules a day, that's a 2-month supply.)

[NOW Foods](NOW Supplements, Psyllium Husk 700 mg, 180 Capsules https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000MGR2T4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mriODbHPW9MF7). This is a well known brand and a good "try and see" option, imo. If you don't see the desired results, then you're only out $10 for 180 capsules, with Prime. The dosage is slightly lower, as well. They also offer a loose powder version that's excellent for keto baking recipes.

When I'm running low again, I think I'll see what's available outside of Amazon. I haven't checked GNC or Vitamin Shoppe, but I'm hoping they might offer something that's more .mg-per-pill at a reasonable price. I should warn you that these capsules are not small, and four of them in one sitting can be un-fun if you're less than a stellar pill-swallower.

Most of the bottle instructions will tell you: Always chase with an entire glass of water!

I got it from Amazon and it's a lot. http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00JDOAKRM/

There's a bread recipe I use it in too, that mostly is just nuts and seeds, and the psyllium husks hold it together. It's a little on the higher carb side in general (about 10g per slice) but really great if you're craving something nutty and hearty: https://food52.com/blog/10575-my-new-roots-life-changing-loaf-of-bread

u/bartmanx · 1 pointr/vegetarianketo

I got my on amazon.ca

it's basically just fiber. you may be able to get something else that's tasteless, and just a fiber filler.

u/methheadhitman · 1 pointr/beer

I takeYerba Prima psyllium husk capsules every day (no gb) and I rarely get the shits unless I drink alot or eat junk food. They also have a powder, that's cheaper but tastes like shit.

Psyllium husk powder has worked AMAZINGLY for me. Watch a couple videos on how to drink it cause there is a bit of catch. But it has other health benefits as well.

You can buy fiber, just make sure they're not loaded with other bs in them. I returned some metamucil because they added sugar to the mix for some stupid reason.

Psyllium husks - no calories, 100% fiber - it will also keep you feeling full. Problem solved. You can get enough for a couple of years for about $50 from amazon, here. A tablespoon a day will have you pooing one log that goes twice around the bowl, tapered at both ends, so regularly you can set your watch by it.
