What exactly do you want to do with this oven?

A microwave/toaster is good for reheating cooked food.

if you want to bake cookies and cakes and pizzas you would want to get an oven like this

Do you want to do real cooking or just little snacks?

Amazon is a great example to use because Amazon doesn't make most of the products you see on there, they just sell the stuff.

People are demanding cheaper merchandise (via their purchasing decisions) which is why you see the cheap stuff taking over.

This should put to rest the argument that manufacturers are conspiring to sell cheap crap. On Amazon, the expensive stuff is still there too, but most people just like buying the cheapest crap possible.

There is no conspiracy- it's just people's buying decisions. People are getting fake SD cards because they're trying to buy a 256 GB card for $10.

A little cheaper on amazon. I saw that Lowes and Home Depot carries them as well. You have to search under battery operated gas stoves. The pilot light is lit by battery each time you turn it on so you dont die from the gas if the flame goes out, but you can still use a match if you dont have a battery.

Here is your stereotypical American Oven/Range combo. We just put in the temp in F and hit bake. You can also set the timer - there isn't anything more to it.

I've used the both setting and it seems to heat up the oven too much - that's when things get burnt on the outside but still liquid in the middle. I normally try to half and half it - the first 30 minutes from the bottom of the oven and then switch it to the top but I need to watch the oven way more carefully than an American oven would require.

Wow really? How?I mean here in japan those run at only 1500w? Which is really barely enough for a cake. In europe all our ovens run at 400v and run at about 3kw and theyre still smaller than the beasts you have in the US?
Looking at amazon, those are all 240v in US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074C16927/ref=sspa_dk_detail_1?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B074C16927&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=f52e26da-1287-4616-824b-efc564ff75a4&pf_rd_r=R4EY8Z4M9W432VAHVYJG&pd_rd_wg=XiAwP&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&pd_rd_w=5EJt4&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pd_rd_r=ae2a30d1-b838-11e8-940e-2fb2dccbe537

Interesting, I also have a galley kitchen to contend with.

I was also planning to use the Bertazonni 24" PRO244GASX range early on as well, mainly because it's attractive, and one of the handful of 24" ranges available. However, the reviews online were pretty scathing (e.g., http://www.amazon.com/Bertazzoni-Professional-X304GGVXLP-Pro-Style-Range/product-reviews/B001A5B346/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_hist_1?filterByStar=one_star&pageNumber=1 has 40% one-star reviews). Would probably be good if you were about to sell the apartment or something, but for me, I just don't have the time to deal with any warranty crap.

There's also the smeg C24GGXU, possibly better, and very little else in 24". In the end, decided on a separate under-the-counter oven + gas cooktop combo (of which there are lots of 24" options).
