Really though, it depends on your environment. They describe something called sick building syndrome if I remember correctly. And the plants will alleviate that condition. The book also helps you calculate how many plants you would need per person etc etc. Describes what does what(ie..removal of chemical vapours) how much and when.
I haven't had a chance to paw through it because I'm insanely busy, but it certainly has merit. especially if you have cold winters and the windows are always closed. Possibly worse with newer homes but I'm only guessing.
