Do you normally lean over the pot/pan where you would be in splattering range? I know it splatters out into a certain radius beyond the pan, especially with shallower pans, but I try to keep my important bits out of range. This often has me standing back a bit from where I would normally stand with most natural arm movement - I'm back a bit and have to extend my arms further, plus kind of peering at whatever I'm cooking from afar instead of really getting in close to inspect it - but too many small burns have taught me to be cautious. It's not an issue of being super timid with it or anything, just careful. I consider it a form of controlling the hazards similar to what I do in the lab as someone who works with biological samples (human or animal blood products, urine, etc) - even though in the lab I'm wearing protective eyewear at a minimum and usually with a full face shield over it, I still point vials away from me when I open them so that any spray isn't towards me.

I'm sure 99% of people see it as overkill, but if this is genuinely a consistent issue for you, I wasn't entirely kidding about protective eyewear. I have a set of lab goggles I use if cutting onions is really killing me, and it works fantastically. There are safety glasses designed to be worn over eyeglasses - you'd still have to wipe the oil off of those, but at least you're not potentially ruining expensive glasses that you actually need to see! The real dweeb solution, if you want to go hard and don't mind looking like a dork, is the face shields I mentioned - these aren't the brand I use at work, but they're cheap and should do the trick.

Using science stuff in the kitchen is underrated sometimes.

I use a Vogmask probably 60% or more of the time. They are kinda expensive but it's worth it to me because the good quality valves and materials make it easier and more comfortable to wear for a long time. You can get cheaper ones like this or this that will work just as well but probably not be as comfortable or last as long. Buffs like /u/mikron2 linked or a bandana work great for most people but if you are a little more sensitive a filter mask with a good fit is a safer bet to avoid the much feared Coachella cough.

That's a short period of time, so I wouldn't be too concerned. But if you tend to have allergies then you can pick up these masks (ensure they say "KF94") at a Korean convenience store. The KF94 is a standard that means it will block 94% of particulates in the air. Also, you can check the AQICN website and download their mobile app. You'll definitely notice the yellow sky, on certain days, when you get here, but you may not necessarily experience any adverse physical effects.

So I’m going to slightly hijack this question to ask a related question: does anybody have any experience with “running airfilter masks” like this? Can you actually run with this, and most importantly, do they work or is it just bullshit?

Yeesh. Get the particulate masks. I bought one with replacement filters after the fires the past few years here in the SF Bay Area. I wanted to be prepared this summer. You’ll need it if that many acres are burning.

And an air purifier for the home helps.

Saw a few with print, here's one.
Saw various plain ones.
I was considering buying a 3M 6500 since i've seen people wear some and they look kinda cool.

Here's a pack of filters that i'd use to pit 3 or 4 with each mask

I've seen alot of people who are doing this.. Here's some masks that were suggested in a group : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071W2GQMS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_n4iSzb6C9E0KB https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y28TMQ3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_t2iSzbSFQH6P5

I have really bad anxiety (social and general) as well, so it wasn't easy for me to start wearing it, but despite the jokes and looks it does make me feel safer.

I got this mask. Comes with 2 filters, but you can buy replacement filters in their own pack for cheap. I like the different colors they have, makes me feel less like people think I'm going to rob a store if I walk in wearing it. It's really well-made, and you can adjust the ear loops depending on your ear size. And depending on if you use glasses or not, I can confirm this is adjustable to the point where it won't fog up glasses (or sunglasses).

I know now how bad a cold is with MS, even without a DMT lowering the immune system. When cold and flu season comes, I'll likely be wearing masks constantly (so will probably get several more to change out through the week).

Bonus: If you have any sort of environmental allergies, the filters that go in these do block those out. My hay fever and allergy to dust are complete non-issues with the mask on.

Maybe try a cute face mask or something

I use a 3M N95when I go out and a P2 respirator mask around the house. The reusables are so much easier to breathe in and the air doesn’t get so hot or moist like it does in the disposable. I imagine the military grade n95 or higher are better than the disposable (and not as bulky as but I haven’t used them). P95+ makes is probably overkill unless you want to use it for aerosols, but always safe than sorry?

My reusable: Breath Buddy

I also use this for projects at home like spray painting, cleaning my cat’s litter box, or using heavy cleaning supplies. It’s great for blocking out odors where I can still smell odor with my disposable mask.

I think that it could be the brand "Cranberry USA" because of the wavy line packaging design but I can't find an exact match. Could be exam gloves, could be face masks.

Same here man 😎👌 that's good. Here's the link to the set I bought.

Switch the "Color" to "8-piece set" and buy that package. It comes with 3 yellow/black screwdrivers T6, T8, and T10.

My PS3 is a CECH-2001A and I needed the T8. But my other PS3 slim uses T10 size. It's good to have both.

Well then use this one.
