Everybody should double wrap and mark your batteries the second you get them, especially since 80% of the people probably don't follow Mooch's guides and get batteries from reputable places, but even then, especially 30q's are flimsy.

18650 wraps: https://www.amazon.com/Coil-Master-Battery-Authentic-Replacement/dp/B06ZZS6WVY

Insulators: https://www.amazon.com/ThreeBulls-Cardboard-Insulators-Electrical-Insulating/dp/B074P6FNSK

It's important to get an efficient hot air gun like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073RK2M2Y

DJlsb did a video a while ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHXSqgw6qpY

Edit: You can get the wraps/insulators way cheaper from the links that mooch recommends but I'd get the hot air gun from Amazon.

I use these reporter's pads and fold them, if that makes sense, so the sheets I'm writing on rest against the back of the pad. It gives me a little extra pressure to write on. Beyond that, you just get used to it and you'll adjust to which position works best.

Transcribing — I always record interviews, but I also try to write down direct quotes as well, to an extent. It would be impossible for me to get down literally everything, but I've learned to know when a quote is said that I'll want to include in the story. I also write down facts I'll paraphrase, details, and anything a recorder won't pick up (surroundings, someone's reaction when they're speaking, etc.) Suggestion: You could learn shorthand, which would help with speed when writing down your notes.

Not to mention this already exists...

They're called weekly sticky notes.

I have a few sticky notes like this that I use already. They're even more flexible than this and are undated, I can use two for one week, and cost like...$1. I got one in a $3 grab bag of post its.

Just recently got this same deal too! I’m turning it into a budget planner for my mom and opted for this snap on pouch (I couldn’t find the link to it on the Michael’s website, but I found it in their store with the other regular priced Happy Planner stuff) It matches the pattern and the size really well and sits really nicely against the back, and felt like a better alternative to the stick-on pen loop I was gonna get for it, since you can use it for multiple, different items. They were having a 40% off sale on all planner stuff when I went last week, so it made the planner feel like even more of a steal.

I also picked up an awesome large list/ sticky note pad from that same section that I think acts as a good place to jot down notes without having to add too much weight and extra paper to the small rings.

& It also never hurts to add a dashboard to pop any cute sticky notes onto! here are some pictures I just took because I was too excited about this not to share! 😂

Razzle dazzle! These would make my day! Big cat lover.

Boom! (Although to be fair if I started actually using these I don't think my co-workers would ever let me live it down :P) Amazon really does have everything!

I have these adorable elephant sticky notes on my under $10 wishlist. They're so cute. My laptop is always covered in little sticky note reminders to myself, so it would be fun if they were actually adorable stickies rather than just boring square ones. :P

That’s why there’s black post-its at craft stores & Amazon. Thick & black enough to not see through, but easily remove-able if you want/need it!

Me & My Big Ideas POST22 Happy Planner Sticky Notes 160/Pkg, White Cards https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BF3RTTM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_xFMpDb45A7D87 they usually come like this.

They make a few large sizes in the same paper I've seen at staples usually around school supply shopping time, probably for teachers. I think these are the ones I saw in person but I can't tell about the paper of these specifically. It has a few options 11x11, 15x15 and 22x22 and looks just like the smaller ones so I would assume it's the same.

If you have cards that look identical but have different memory (I have cards like this) you should mark them for sure. Remembering serial numbers is a pain. I use binder page markers.

This works great. Otherwise, no.

There is a good TED (and I am sure other Youtube video) about how it works

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arj7oStGLkU

I am using (at work) a "today's plan of attack list" where I list things I want to be done - even before opening my email inbox, and try as much as possible to stick to it.

Then there is all the advice about breaking up tasks or ensuring you have continuous good vibes by progressing (i.e instead of having an objective of "write a book" which will take a long time, and have only a short reward/happiness when completed, list objective : "write 1h today" you will create an habit, feel good about meeting your objective of the days, and generate happiness all along writing your book.)

I think I got that from Tim Ferris.

then there is the irony of recommending watching videos on Youtube to beat procrastination when watching videos on Youtube is procrastination....

Waffles! Especially made of cinnamon rolls!

My husband got up with the baby this morning for me because I was sick and let me sleep until eleven. It was so sweet.
