Sorry but you got ripped off. Those are not rare or expensive, everyone in the Navy owns probably 5-10 of those, we use them on our mesh laundry bags to keep them closed while they go through the ships laundry service.

Their "slim" cut is absolutely huge man, there's no way someone of your size is going to fit properly in it. Like check their shirt dimensions, the difference between a slim and extra slim is 2.5" in both the chest and waist. The super slim is 4.5" slimmer in the waist comparatively.

I have a vastly different build from you at 5'7" 150 lbs, so much chunkier than you, but I had to get an extra slim fit 15" neck even though my normal neck is 15.5". There are collar extenders you can use so that the neck doesn't choke you out if you do go down a size.

Hello all! I wanted to share with you my organizer for all my daily cross stitch stuff. I had been looking for an easy solution to store my stuff without having it all over my coffee table and be able to easily move between rooms to continue working on my projects. I finally found this little organizer on Amazon and it's PERFECT for what I needed. I thought it would be fun to go through my bag and show what supplies I keep in there. Not pictured are obviously my hoop this is my all time favorite and the grime guard that I am trying to learn to love.

Everything is stored in the Roll-up canvas organizer that I got from Amazon. It's made for crochet supplies, but comes empty so you can load it up with your own stuff. Lot of designs available, but most importantly, CATS!

Section 1:

-Dritz seam ripper

-Cottage Cutz 2-in-1 needle threader

-Basic travel scissors

-Embroidery Scissors

-Needle Minders - one homemade from a dichroic pendant from a local craft fair, one made from a Babypietattoo hand painted clay pendant

-Tiny magnet set - I used this as a "minder" before I got around to making new ones. I keep it inside my kit now to use for my needle threader. I usually stitch with the kit opened in front of me, so it's easy to just throw the threader down on the magnet and have it handy

-Needle threader

Section 2:

-Needle Twister - this thing totally rocks and I want one for each size of needles!

-Magentic needle case

-Assorted sewing needles

Section 3:

-Needle minder from Maggies Minders

-Hem clips - I got mine in a vintage sewing box from an estate sale. They are perfect for clipping back extra aida to keep it out of the way

For reference, I ordered this one off Amazon. Literally THE cheapest one I could find, even with shipping. It looks shockingly good and was really easy to put together. I'm actually EXCITED to take pictures right now!

So I was thinking about sewing on a modification to my GR1 earlier this year and, like /u/TonyTonyChopper said, the biggest concern is how thick the canvas is.

The conclusion that I came to is that the best way to sew something on would be to use a Sewing Awl handtool with heavy duty thread. They're used to stitch leather so GR1 should be doable. There's also videos on YouTube to follow if you've never used an awl before. It's not that hard to learn since it's a simple tool.

So that would be my recommendation. Get the velcro you want to attach, grab a sewing awl, measure everything out so it looks clean, and just sew it on there.

Or if you don't mind using the MOLLE itself, you could always literally just buy MOLLE Velcro Strips

You'll want worsted weight yarn and a size E or F hook (I think, I don't usually make amigurumi). You'll also need stuffing. I use yarn scraps, but since you're brand new you won't have any so I'd suggest poly-fil stuffing. Eyes optional.
Michael's has 40% off coupons almost every week (only good for one regular priced item). I think other craft stores do too, but the others aren't in my country.

Exactly my thoughts. More than likely, this is all water fluctuation. Disheartening to see the numbers increase, because weight is the most popular way to measure progress. That's why I'd always recommend taking body measurements. They sometimes reveal changes that the scale does not (e.g: You did NOT get "bigger" or fatter if you look at body measurement trends) A device like this makes it all the much easier:

You have a unique closet with lots of great valuable pieces. It's worth it for you to invest in some equipment. Lightweight box and dress form would drastically improve your photos and presentation. You can purchase both for $100 on Amazon.

For your jewelry, I'd buy neutral color jewelry display stands. Personally black doesn't photo well.

I'll do some digging around and edit with links to what example of what I'm talking about. Keep in mind, after you finish selling your stuff (if Poshmark hasnt become habit forming) and if youre done with Poshmark you can always sell your equipment on Ebay. You have high-end unique items that will sell, and professional equipment will speed up the process.

I have one of those scales and it’s a piece of crap. I don’t trust it’s body fat estimates at all. If I have some carbs (usually from beer) I’ll put on a kilo or 2 of water and it disappears with a day or 2. The scales think this is mostly fat.

I’ve lost about 70lbs of fat over the last 3 years and I’ve had periods where I didn’t know whether I was losing fat or muscle and also gaining fat or muscle (when eating at a surplus). The best thing I did was get a cheap body measuring tape which makes it really easy to take consistent measurements of my body. You can then use the Navy or YMCA body fat calculator to estimate body fat %. From there you can estimate how much fat and lean mass you’re carrying around. I track this in a google sheet and I can see what’s happened each month.

The first 2 months on carnivore (after losing bloat, water weight etc) saw me weight stable but I lost about an inch from my waist. I didn’t care whether it was muscle (my strength actually dropped) or bone or organs that kept my weight stable but I knew I’d lost fat. You’re still early on your journey - get one and take measurements now, record them somewhere (you’ll thank yourself later on). I think the part you are looking for is normally called a "buckle and slider". I don't know if you are missing the buckle end, or the slider, but they are usually sold in pairs. If you measure the size of your straps you should be able to figure it out. Maybe half inch? http://www.amazon.com/50-Side-Release-Plastic-Buckles/dp/B003R0RTEA/ref=pd_sim_sbs_hg_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0CKMEGYHKDGMP4PQ7J4S

I think the only difference between the normal ones and the ones you might find on a helmet is that the helmet ones are shaped so as to have no protuberances or other things that might irritate your chin. So, if you go with a generic one you may have to modify it a little with some foam or some sugru or something.

u/Itcausesproblems · 3 pointsr/bigdickproblems

You're going to want to get this really accurate. Most people use a string or a tailors measure and run that around at his widest point.

u/gunslinger_006 · 3 pointsr/bjj

Super easy.

My advice:

  1. Use only Rothco 550 cord, many other brands are junk, the Rothco stuff is the real deal, both in its ability to actually hold 550lbs, and in the fact that its softer feeling than the cheap stuff.
  2. Get some cheap quick disconnects for the clasp, but choose them well, this particular brand is VERY strong: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003R0RTEA/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00
  3. Learn how to tie the Cobra weave, it gives you the most cord-feet per inch of bracelet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbTrVcBzzGY

There you go, now you have everything you need.

I made bracelets, keychains, zipper pulls....hell I still have many bracelets in my stock because I made more than I was able to sell.

Warning: You may blister your hands doing this. I recommend you take it easy at first and don't try to make 10 in a day or your hands will hate you.
u/zorkmids · 2 pointsr/backpacking

Another alternative: maybe you could simply secure a neoprene camera case inside the backpack. You could use a sewing awl to stitch it in (check out this video).

u/Blindstar · 2 pointsr/shutupandtakemymoney

I ordered these from Amazon, and though they might be shitty chinese made clips, they seem to be pretty sturdy and hold up well. I kinda wish I could find metal clips like that though. I feel like a good crack on a rock would bust ANY plastic one, no matter where it's made

u/SilentKnight333 · 2 pointsr/lgbt

Some safety pins are actually quite large if you're worried about making sure people can see them.

u/6anon · 2 pointsr/lifehacks
u/GabKoost · 2 pointsr/Sneakers

SB Dunks are mad comfortable and usually already have extra padded tongues.

If you chose to use the AJ1 upper i would personally put the SB tongue behind the AJ1's. Extra padding pushing against your foot feels very nice. That's what i get from my custom.

The eyelets are very easy to replicate. Just buy them from ebay with the piercing tool. You will then just have to paint them accordingly because they usually come in silver.

As for the inner lace holding the laces i would just use a random soft and small piece of lace and give it a knot from the inside. After lacing them together it would hold just as well. If you prefer to see the inner laces holding by themselves from the eyelets without the support of the outer laces, just super glue the inner knot to the inside of the eyelet and you are set.

This shouldn't be too hard. Just plan everything ahead and take your time. There's always dumb things we forget about even in simple tasks like these lol.

u/JohnnyBsGirl · 2 pointsr/xxfitness

First of all, screw lunch. It's all about breakfast for dinner! =) Secondly, to measure my bodyfat, I use tailor's tape. I then enter the relevant info (age, gender, height, weight, neck, waist, and hip measurements) into my preferred body fat calulator. Measuring yourself can be tricky, so I suggest doing some research, and maybe enlisting the help of a trusted accomplice the first time or two until you get the hang of it. Finally, I try to also use the calipers and my appearance It's always going to be an estimate, but I think I have a pretty good idea.

u/notarascal · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

None of this is very helpful because sizes vary so much even within the same make/model.

Get a tailor’s measuring tape and measure yourself. At minimum you should measure your waist, hips, thighs, and inseam — write those down or commit to memory. Include them whenever asking a question like this.

You should also measure your garments that fit you well so you can compare them to other garments you’re looking to purchase. It takes most the guesswork out of finding the correct size.

I shop at Amazon a lot. I like H&M for some basics, including undies. And there are store galore that specialize in whatever style you want to cultivate. If having things shipped to your home is a problem, and you don't have the option of receiving packages at work, Amazon also has pick up location options.

I don't know if this will help much, but here's the pictures for my build. I used cardboard to make the templates for everything and then transferred it to 3/4" MDF.

I also didn't use expandable foam, but automotive seam sealer instead. I sprayed the inside of the quarter panel and all of the interior of the enclosure with DEI Boom Mat and filled the enclosure with Polyester Fiber Stuffing

I screwed the part that the speaker mounted in from the back side so you didn't see any screws.

u/andreaxtina · 2 pointsr/poshmark

I bought this one from Amazon just to have something for clothes that look weird on a hanger and it’s super light weight which is nice but the fabric on top is a velvet and it is a beating getting certain fabrics to not bunch or look staticy.

u/rpuppet · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Check out one of your local tailors and have them measure you. Be upfront about why you are there. If you buy something from them, thats great. I'd tip a tailor $20 to take my measurements if I wasn't giving them any business.
The other option is to have your Significant Other measure you. Then compare those measurements to garments you already own and fit you well.

Protip: buy a bobbin winder! I picked mine up for $2 at my local craft store when I started stitching, and it changed my floss organization game! It's so much easier and more fun to get all of those little skeins looking even and nice.
Here's one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0753442ZG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_DSTRBb2926R90

Also, don't go cheap and use cardboard bobbins. Once you start using plastic bobbins, you won't go back! I buy mine by the 100. If you get them on Ebay, and don't mind waiting for shipping from China (mine usually arrive within 2 weeks, not sure what the shipping time to the UK would look like in comparison), the last 100 pack I bought on eBay was $5.98, and quality and size between brands really doesn't change.

Thank you so so so so much. Wow. I wanted to wait to try it out to see how well it might work. It went through two layers of leather without any difficulty and it made sewing incredibly fast and easy. I was able to finish tailoring in less than 30 minutes. Thank you so much.

In that case, it seems like he has a really good appetite and may just not be storing much fat, yet (which is normal). A couple things I would do is get a small scale and a tape measure, just to track if he's growing, and just record the numbers in a note on your phone or simple Excel spreadsheet, along with how much he's eating, so you don't have to rely on your memory to spot any trends if he never grows or starts losing weight.

The scale I use is this one, currently $8.50 on Amazon, and a flexible tape measure like this, currently $4.85. I also second making sure he doesn't have intestinal parasites, which is something I would do even if he wasn't showing any symptoms, as infections like coccidia are extremely common and easy to spread within clutches. (Most vet clinics in my area will do a fecal test for under $20).

All that said, there's nothing from your post which would make me think there's something wrong with your dragon. Tracking the babies for the first couple of months is just something I do for peace of mind.

Good luck!

u/pcb5917 · 1 pointr/poshmark

Everything TheItinerantSkeptic said! My few add ons....

  1. Lighting is key. You want to make sure the color matches as closely to the actual item otherwise you risk the buyer opening a case about item description. I only use natural light and I use an iPhone so I adjust the coloring with the phone's built-in photo editor. IMO never use flash!

  2. I purchased a mannequin from Amazon and it was the best $40 I ever spent for Posh. The one I have is on sale right now, the link is here I noticed that I started moving more clothing & had less questions about fit when I had them on a mannequin so it might be worth buying. I also always list the measurements of the garment in the description again, to avoid a case being opened about fit.

The only other things I would add...
  • Be as accurate as you can with your description. Adjectives are your friend. Call out any flaws no matter how minor they may be.
  • Keep on top of buyer's questions and be prompt & courteous in your responses.
  • Don't get hung up on ratings. While of course we all want to only ever get glowing 5-star reviews, there are some people out there that will dock you for the smallest thing so if someone does, just carry on.

    Happy Poshing!

Looks like the Coaxsher molle chest rig is the right path for you. It's basically admin pouch with fold down, and you can add a radio rig to the shoulder strap easily enough.

If you want cheap, there's also this generic stuff from China on Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/Outdoor-Universal-Tractical-Harness-Essentials/dp/B07G7WQXGG

You can probably rig the straps to hang an admin pouch also if you really need it.

If you really really want to make your own, there's this:

https://www.amazon.com/BTNOW-Plastic-Tri-glide-Backpack-Repairing/dp/B075ZTLKJC

It's basically black strap and some buckles to make your own custom straps. You basically need one strap across your lower chest, and one strap around back of your neck. The upper can hang from your T&T's upper D-rings. You can probably get some MOLLE D-rings (Grimloc clones) for the bottom strap.

You can get little self-adhesive Velcro squares (or tape if you have more patience for cutting) that have the hooks on one side and the loops on the other. Then put the hooks on one of each pair and the loops on the other, so completed matches can stick to each other, even inside an envelope or plastic storage bag.

>I don't quite understand the difference between open cell and closed cell foam.

Think the difference between a sponge (open cell) and a styrofoam cup (closed cell).

"Pluck Foam" is a pretty popular product for applications like this. Basically it's open-cell foam with a grid cut into it most of the way through the foam pad. This lets you "pluck out" various squares to approximate the shape of the object you're wanting to protect. Commonly used when transporting minis for wargaming.

Not sure you'd find some that thin, though. https://www.amazon.com/SRA-Cases-Pre-Scored-Insert-EN-AC-FG-A019/dp/B00NPWLUHW/ this one is $11 for a bit over a square foot, but it's also 5x thicker than what you're talking about.

Acoustic foam might be closer to what you're wanting, it's certainly in the right price and dimension range, but it's also got that "egg crate" pattern that might be annoying for your purposes. https://www.amazon.com/acoustic-soundproofing-insulation-soundproof-dampening/dp/B076JNCQ39/

Upholstery foam might also be what you're looking for. https://www.amazon.com/Density-Cushion-Replacement-Mattress-Padding/dp/B074TTHFD8/

It’s a thread cutter pendant!

D&D Yarn Thread and Floss Cutter Pendant, Antique Bronze https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075N5ZZ5M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_.RxXAbE6PF543

The little notches are for cutting thread or yarn. It’s a pendant you can wear around your neck when you are working on a sewing project.

It looks a little different than the link I posted but the notches totally look the same. Do they have a little blade inside? It’s hard to tell from the photo.
