On most days I eat a lot of sprouted seeds, coconut butter, almond butter, raw walnuts and brazil nuts, even if I can't find sprouted ones. Macadamia nuts are awesome when you need portable fat calories.

If I've been eating mostly whole foods and want desert, I really like No Cow Bars, and 4g net carbs for 20g of protein isn't bad after all those seeds. I try not to eat soy but this vegan jerky is amazing. The black pepper and smoked chipotle flavors are 2g net carbs/oz, but some of the sweeter flavors are closer to 10g, and the maple Sriracha (absolutely the best) is 4g.

> costano molto meno

Negli Stati Uniti, quasi tutti i pinoli che si possono comprare sono della varieta' cinese/asiatica, e tutti costano tanto. $11+ per 8oz.

In addition to the other suggestions here:

  • olives: (kalamata are my fav) come in fun little packs which are great for this. One of these cups has a whopping 744 mg sodium

  • V8 or other vegetable juice: even a little 5 ounce can has 450 mg sodium

  • Roasted chickpeas (pre-packaged): I like the Biena brand, but there are many good ones.

  • Watermelon (or other watery fruits/veg) can hold salt really well. As does sugar-free jello

These good eats can all be purchased from Costco: SkinnyPop Popcorn, Greek Yogurt and Nut mix, and Beer Chips. I've bought all three of these snacks and they're all freaking delicious.

Edit: ebook! :)

for drink, try
Good Day Avocado Delight

*Richeese brand (they also branch out to fried chicken franchise called Richeese Factory; it's a local brand from West Java)

Roasted soy beans?

Do you mean, like these soy nuts?

Paleo People granola use to be my favorite thing ever. I know "you can't package paleo", but this stuff is delicious and is made just from honey, dried fruit, nuts, and spices. I gave it up because it was too easy to overeat.

Oh let's see....I have this thing because they are yummy and delicious and the last time I had them I almost finished off the whole bag in a day!!

Then there is this thing because I love to curse and cross stitch!

There are also several of these things on my list because I love to curse and color! Also I'm on the last page of my current swear word coloring book :(

And I have lots of these things on my list because my toesies get cold in the winter and this is a supercute way to keep them warm!!

I'm trying to figure out which is more cost-effective. I can buy a 5oz container of organic shoots from a local farm for $4.99 USD.

You can buy 1LB on Amazon of USDA organic for 12-13 dollars. I already have the indoor/outdoor space to grow them year round but I have limited attention span due to my chickens, bees, and vegetable garden.

Big thing is just wondering if, in anyone's experience, they've been able to get more than 2 pulls off a single pea. If that's the case, I think the added work of DIY would be worth the effort of planting.

They are? No, can't be. I just saw them at a green grocery (apricot kernels), kept in a green grocery. Maybe they can't be sold as a drug but can be sold as a food, or perhaps they are sold as a novelty item?

Ok I just verified, you can surely buy apricot kernels. You scared me for a minute there.

http://www.amazon.com/Organic-Raw-Apricot-Kernels-16oz/dp/B013HAD63M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453965536&sr=8-1&keywords=apricot+kernels

Also, you should know this as well, Cherry pits if you break them open have an 'apricot kernel' in them also...it's actually a real cherry tree seed, but it's similarly edible in small quantities and has the same amygdalin in it, as do all stone fruits (peaches also). You'll just have a fun time trying to get them out though :P

Apple seeds also have amygdalin.

People will try to scare you with this talk about it being cyanide...yes, the molecule is similar but it is not cyanide, nor will cyanide be released unless it comes into contact with amygdalinase or amygdaline beta glucosidase an enzyme to cleave the molecule into whatever plus cyanide that is present in some plants. Even so, the 'toxicity' is just not observed in the body as the amount of cyanide released is either too little to have effect or too diffuse to matter.

NIH confirms this non toxicity of amygdalin, but they also say it neither causes cancer nor treats it. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6986971

Yes, I realize the argument of politicization of science... so I can't say i agree or disagree with nih on this particular one.

I think it's interesting to note that they immediately claim it doesn't act like a vitamin. How do they know that? They don't. That's a very glib claim.

I personally set out to prove that people didn't know what they are talking about by eating 10 apricot kernels and 20 apple seeds (at different times, although I still think it would do nothing). They taste good, amaretto flavored. It makes me happy, so I guess that's vitamin enough.

Got a big box of these from costco and they have become a mainstay in my bad when I go out. https://www.amazon.com/Sargento-Balanced-Breaks-12-ct/dp/B01I1F2UQC

Something like these? If that was an issue I had to deal with I would keep something on my person in order to counteract it.
