I think I can do that for ya, honestly. I also have, for the left joystick, little caps that make grip better if that interests you too. Maybe private message me I suppose, get this goin!

Edit: and no purchasing, they're so silly cheap, I got it n the postage etc..

Edit 2: This is the left joystick cover, could hook you up with one of those. I honestly love it. Long gaming sessions are perfect for this seemingly simple and pointless lil' grip.

Edit 3: And this is the c-stick replacement. Someone else linked it above as well, but yeah, the psp-1,000 joystick or whatever. Works really great.

Edit 4: Since I'm really gettin down on all this N3DS speak, I'd like to share this as well. My goodness, it makes gaming 1,000x better. Since the grips are not directly under the 3DS, and they are almost basically on the sides, it makes it feel like a legit, comfortable ass videogame controller! (In the vein of an Xbox or PS4 controller) With how I said the grips are on the sides, it makes it not feel so damn cramped like some of the other N3DS grips can. It's seriously so, SO worth the $15 bucks.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars might be my favorite GTA game of all time. The PSP version is my favorite (over the DS/iOS versions), thanks to the upgraded graphics and the way the analog nub works well for control.

Patapon and Patapon 2 are amazing rhythm-based games and are both well worth playing if you have a PSP and you like fun.

Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles gives you two of the greatest Castlevania games of all time: Rondo of Blood (you actually get two versions: the old one and a 2.5D remake), and Symphony of the Night. Keep in mind that the classic Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night have to be unlocked in-game before you can play them. It's a stupid arbitrary unlock but there are plenty of guides online and they aren't difficult to get.

Finally, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X is a phenomenal remake of the SNES original. They mix up the item locations to keep veterans on their toes, and the game plays just as smoothly as the original. Fantastic title.

for modern HDMI or good old component? If you're looking for HDMI a new connector just got released a while back and I hear its pretty good. https://www.amazon.com/HDMI-Cable-2000-Handheld-Console/dp/B07SCXD68H/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=levelhike&qid=1568315555&s=gateway&sr=8-1

Original title "Monster Hunter Freedom Unite gets cooking on iOS, out now"

gets changed to:

"Monster Hunter Freedom Unite gets cooking on iOS, out now.. for a steep price"
__
$15 isn't that steep considering the enhanced graphics, touch screen controls and multiplayer online.

You can always go for the PSP version at $15 if you want the initial experience.
http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Hunter-Freedom-Unite-Sony-PSP/dp/B001HWF1OA

Edit: There's always MONSTER HUNTER Dynamic Hunting if you want a cheaper Monster Hunter at $4.99.

You may want to look into Brave story: new traveller as it's a fairly good turn based rpg. I'm also going to shamelessly plug the monster hunter series, as it's what got the most play time by far on my psp.

The original camera had a nice optional stand:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Playstation-Officially-Licensed-Clip-Camera/dp/B00F63QTU6

If you have the old camera, I would highly recommend this..

It shouldn't bee too hard. There's plenty of PSP Go replacement screens on Aliexpress. Last time I checked they cost $10-15.

If you're in the US, there's this $13 PSP Go screen with free Prime shipping

https://www.amazon.com/LCD-Screen-Display-Backlight-PSP/dp/B00541YO0M

It is a bit annoying though, since you have to take the whole thing apart to get to the screen, but it's doable and way easier than any modern smartphone. It shouldn't take you too long. Just take things slowly and put your screws in places that you can remember them. All you need is a small Philips screwdriver, plus tweezers and a plastic spudger if you want an easier time putting it back together.

Here's a nice guide I used. The guy goes pretty slowly, so it's easy to follow, and he doesn't skip the reassembly.

Put a PSP nub in place of the Nintendo one

Video on how to put the nub in

The nub 3x pack I bought

I just did this over the weekend and the game is unbelievably more enjoyable. It’s absolutely a game changer when it comes to the camera. A lot more comfortable and a lot more pressure sensitive, but not to the point of you overshooting the camera swings. You’ll get a feel for it after a minute.

Warning: you’ll have to be comfortable with the idea of taking the nub out permanently. But honestly, once you do, you’ll never look back.

u/massmedian · 3 pointsr/vita

I use this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Tomee-Vita-Protective-Carrying-Pouch-playstation/dp/B00LHTR87G/

It's good enough to protect against scratches and small bumps when in my messenger bag.

If you want something a bit more protective, I highly recommend the WaterField Designs VITA case.

https://www.sfbags.com/collections/sony-ps-vita-cases/products/sony-ps-vita-cityslicker-case

It's expensive but I think it's worth the cost. Feels sturdy, holds a few games, and has a rear pocket for accessories like a charging cable.

u/nearlydeadasababy · 3 pointsr/PSVR

You just need something like this...

My TV is super thin also and it works fine.

  1. There is no downside to using bigger storage. Storage size is indepedent of read/write speeds

  2. Not sure about this, I haven't tried yet

  3. The biggest capacity for the PSP is 32GB

If you are looking for a good microSD with adaptor all included I bough this recently and I am very happy with it.

How good are you with electronics? I only ask because the only screen I could think of would be from a PSP-1001 or later model. I have my PSP "jailbroken", so I use that as my retro emulation station. The screens are rather inexpensive, but you might be able to connect one to a pi (I'm no expert, but these screens are probably the best, imo)

I can't fully speak to it's reliability because I haven't been able to use it much yet, but it charged and runs on its own off the battery. The reviews aren't the best but there don't seem to be many good reviews for PSP batteries out there with all the fakes.

This is it: Insten Compatible With SONY PSP...

It’s mostly likely from Metal Gear Solid Peacewalker Pack.

u/TimTheNinja · 2 pointsr/PSP

Well, you're in luck as it's apparently really cheap to replace a PSPgo screen. And it costs about the same to replace the battery. Much better than the price of another used PSPgo!

u/lolboxes · 2 pointsr/vita

What are people's thoughts of quality on this product and is it a pouch or a zipped case thanks. http://www.amazon.com/Tomee-Vita-Protective-Carrying-Pouch-playstation/dp/B00LHTR87G

Just FYI, a PSP joystick fits perfectly on the New 3DS XL. Just yoink the C-nub out with the tip of a knife or with pliers and stick it on there. This is the exact one I use: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010H8223M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_bsBuDbWKVTYAP

It looks great and works like absolute magic. Here's what it looks like on my 3DS: https://i.imgur.com/Qpp7T6j.jpg

And then you can get this case: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UJ9LB6Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ZBBuDbZ6BNP2H

Makes it feel like you're holding an xbox controller it's so comfortable. With these two modifications I can hunt for hours straight without the slightest bit of discomfort.

And about MH: Stories, it's just such a nice game. It's unusual to find a game just so bright and happy, and the Pokèmon gameplay is really good IMO and the animations are insane - But it still is Pokémon gameplay, so if you don't like turn-based stuff it's not for you.

u/Brendan_McCoy · 2 pointsr/PSP

I got this replacement screen

u/TheMotherfucker · 2 pointsr/gaming

They made a new version for the PSP which would be the easiest to get. It's also on the Playstation Network.

u/Ladrius · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Just in case you didn't know, we actually did get an updated Tactics Ogre for the PSP.

I have sunk at least 300 hours into it, and when I finally learned how those forbidden weapons worked or whatever they were, another 50 trying to get decent ones.

That game is so fucking good.

Did you purchase one that was fulfilled by Amazon? Almost all of the ones available on Amazon.ca are fulfilled by Chinese sellers and ship from China (which takes 20+ business days to ship). Since my last one was lost in the mail I'm considering spending a bit more and getting this one since it's fulfilled through Amazon and I won't have to wait forever (and it probably won't get lost in the mail). I can always use the extra Microsd card for my tablet.

If you like platformers:

http://www.amazon.com/Daxter-GH-Sony-PSP/dp/B000E0OCR8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1293739239&sr=8-1

(It helps if you have some familiarity with the Jak & Daxter series, but is by no means required to enjoy the game.)

If you like side-scrolling adventure/platformer games:

http://www.amazon.com/Castlevania-Dracula-X-Chronicles-Sony-PSP/dp/B000R37S00/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1293739319&sr=1-1

It's essentially two games in one: You get the 2.5D remake of an older Castlevania game and Symphony of the Night. The only problem with SotN is that it's a rerecorded version, so it lacks the memorable dialogue, thus you'll have to enjoy it for the gameplay.

Looking at [this] (https://www.amazon.com/Insten-Analog-Joystick-Compatible-Sony-PSP/dp/B006STL2UY), it looks like the back is nearly the same. It might work the same, but I'm not sure, as I've never seen it in person, so I don't know the size or anything.

My favorite game probably of all time is Tales of the Abyss. I am a huge RPG fan and especially JRPGs and this one just had such a replay factor for me. I have played it 4 times over each save being at least 70 hours in so nearly 300 hours on the game. I think what makes me love it so much was the experience I had with my friends. The Tales series is the type of RPG that isn't turn base but a open field fighting type of system. With this system also allows you to play with other people that would control the other characters in your party. So not just replay factor but the fact I played it with my best friends just led to some of the funnest times in my life. Whenever we have 3 or even the max 4 of us we would turn up the difficulty to max and just fight all the bosses (had a lot of my save files for each play through right before major bosses) and just the constant dying and retrying to beat them with my friends was just hours of fun.

This game is the game I'd like. Along with the Tales series which is my favorite, the Kingdom Hearts series is pretty much my second favorite. However it's my best friend's favorite series and he has been bugging me to catch up on the Kingdom Hearts series. Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance are games I still need to play before Kingdom Hearts 3 comes out. So getting this game allows me to get a bit closer to catching up and talk/celebrate the series with my friend. Eggplant Wizard (is an interesting phrase any reason for choosing it?) and thank you for an awesome contest!

u/seifer93 · 1 pointr/PSP

I'm pretty sure your screen is damaged. You could try replacing it. New screens aren't too expensive.

u/adelope · 1 pointr/vita

Normally it is $19.99.

On amazon, they are also selling it for PSP for $10 which is normally $20.

BTW, the game requires 1.10 GB free space.

u/Dusk_Walker · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Hell yeah. Still need to 100% AC2....

I got This bundle with the PSP about four years back, great game.. But I stopped playing because the PSP was cramping my hands out. I may pick up the collection for PS3 when I get some cash though.

There's this new game, Children of Zodiarcs, isn't quite available yet unless you Kickstarted it (I know, kickstarter is scary) but I have been playing it since it released in beta and it's solid so far. I'm not sure about story though since I'm not trying to follow it until the game is fully released, but your concern isn't story if you are talking FFT and Tactics Ogre - hopefully you've played [Let Us Cling Together] (https://www.amazon.com/Tactics-Ogre-Let-Cling-Together-Sony/dp/B003YVK5T8).

It introduces an odd card system where your attacks are based on card sets that you compile for each character. The cards are your abilities (attacks, spells, healing, etc.). This makes it a bit more interesting as in games such as FFT and Tactics Ogre - you could get OP with your full arsenal of abilities available. This also removes MP restraints which sucked in Tactics Ogre (again, a way to reduce the OP spellcasters).

It's another game that has been described by its creator as some sort of FFT descendant, so you always have to worry when that gets tossed around, but they actually have a playable game that is 100% complete gameplay wise. They said all that's left is some cleanup with story and such.

People like to hate Massive Chalice, but it's close-ish. The problem with that game is the lack of actual battle strategy (each character type basically has one way to play) and the insane amount of randomness. For a strategy game, the only act of randomness should be the accuracy of attacks, but there are too many factors that will ruin the game for you - add to that the "Fog of war" during actual battles (like xcom) and you have a rather frustrating game. I will say this though, Their system for breeding and raising your army should be stolen and added into some other game. Agarest with it's 20 generations should do something similar and sort of back off from the dating sim situation.

In a perfect world, someone would make an SRPG with Final Fantasy Tactics' job system, Massive Chalice bloodline system, and somehow, the Nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor/War.

u/Alucard400 · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

It is Dracula X2: Nocturne in the Moonlight. originally on the PSX but there is a definitive version on the PSP with a new translation. You just gotta unlock the game first through the [Dracula X: Rondo of Blood remake] (https://www.amazon.com/Castlevania-Dracula-X-Chronicles-Sony-PSP/dp/B000R37S00). I would want another 2D Castlevania, but Konami is kind of dead and Igarashi already left Konami so he can make more games. Check out Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. There are youtube videos you can watch of the development. The game releases on 2018 and I am hoping Igarashi will allow some of us Wii U backers to change the funding for a Nintendo NS version since the Wii U platform is kind of dead.

u/JohnEdwa · 1 pointr/PSP

If you want to play PS1 games on a TV, get a PC with an emulator. It will always look much, much better than any of the 'native' solutions, period.

They asked what is the best PSP to play PSX games, and that is the Go, as it's the only one you can pair with a Dualshock. Not because you'd need to "get a dock and play on a TV" (and even if you did, the cable costs $20 on amazon.), but because the Dualshock 'phone' mount exists and it's fucking awesome. They also cost around $10.

But, like I said, if you aren't going to do that, then they are all pretty equal.

This game is a bit complex, but kind of fits what you're talking about:

http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Hunter-Freedom-Unite-Sony-PSP/dp/B001HWF1OA

Monster Hunter is an open world rpg where you roam around killing monsters and crafting gear. If he's good at games and likes to tinker, he may enjoy this game quite a bit (even if he's not that great at games, if he's patient he will get better by playing this one), and it was universally regarded as one of the best games on the PSP.

Granted, if you want to go the legal route, you'll need a PSP w/ CFW to rip the ISO off the UMD yourself. Or you could just buy the games, then download the ISO, and call it a compromise. Or just download the games if you don't particularly care. I'm not your mum.
