I'm not convinced that you need to worry about airsoft BBs hurting the lens. But I understand wanting to protect your new light!

How about a clear, flip-up scope cover? Here's one designed to fit over a 1.0" OD. I'm fairly certain that light is 1.0" dia, but you might want to double check.

Also, this will probably ruin the beam, a lot light is going to be wasted on the inside of the cover.

Any chance you could make a cover that fits over a holosun 507c while not in use?
Kinda like this but for a 507c

Typical Leupy. They're fucking scope caps. They don't need to be aluminum with magnets and triple o-ringed and precision machined.

Objective cover will run you about $10. Ocular cover (the one with the red lever) will run you $7-10.

This. I am a big flashoholic and am in /r/flashlight alot. People need to realize that a light with a very tight hotspot in the center is going to appear much brighter if shined into your eyes or on a white wall because most of the light coming out of the light is concentrated into a tight area. I have a couple lights that put out over 3000 lumens, but they are very floody and have no hotspot. They are bright, but some of my lower lumen throwy (tight hotspot) lights still look brighter on the wall. People should do what I did if they are worried about the light affecting their eyes. I got a couple of these see though scope covers. They make them in different sizes and will fit over your light. I took the plastic lens out and sanded it down turning it into a diffuser. Now indoors, it lights up a huge area and it's not going to hurt your eyes. If I'm outside and need to see further, I just flip the cap down and now the light can reach out further.

Edit:

Step 1: Purchase light [here:] (http://illuminationsupply.com/sunwayman-c-28_90/sunwayman-d40a-xml2-980-lumens-neutral-white-4-x-aa-p-632.html#.UzIa6mS9Kc0)

Step 2: Purchase scope cover [here:] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000NJT1W6?pc_redir=1395277144&robot_redir=1)

Step 3: Sand scope cover lens with very fine sand paper. Apply strip of double-sided tape to the inside of the scope cover to keep it from moving around on the light.

Step 4: ???

Step 5: Profit.

Here is the rail I use. It's very easy to install. You get a punch to remove the pin that holds in the rear sight and knock it out. The punch from an AK cleaning kit fits perfectly. Take off the sight and slide the leaf spring out. It just slide forward and out. Then line up the hole on the bottom of the rail with the hole left by the pin and put in the screws. Then use the included hex screws to balance it out and set the screws. Everything necessary is included except the punch which is easily acquired anyway. And the hex screws fit nicely in the mosin cleaning kit as well as the punch.

This is the sight I use. Very nice red dot and pretty affordable. My friend has one on his .22 and it's great.

And I'm looking to get these for the sight soon. 37.7mm fits the tasco red dot perfectly.

Unfortunately I have not fired my mosin since the installation of either of these parts as I just got them last week so hopefully the hold up well to how hard the mosin kicks.

Also, your Diamondback is overpriced.

$300 for the MRAD

$305 for the MOA w/ code Vortex13

Defender caps set for $38

Thanks! Any recommendations on a good kit? I hit analysis paralysis last night looking at all the pros/cons of various tools and accessories last night. Do I need a bore guide? Can I keep using the aluminum pole I have for my .22 with different tips or should I upgrade to fiberglass?

Is the accutrigger setting mostly preference? Any reason to start higher or lower?

For hitting the range I got lucky. I have two friends who were former firearms instructors. One for the FBI, one for the USMC. They're both going to get me going on rifles.

Thanks for the info. I am going to return the size 16 and get the multiflex 25-26-27 here

Butler Creek Multiflex Flip-Open Objective Scope Cover, Size 25-26-27 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00162QD34/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Hpw4Db8WDYPTN

I use Butler Creek Flip Up Scope Covers.

The ocular cover has a little red button that you push forward to flip the cover up. The objective cover has a little tab that you push forward to flip the cover up. Both covers have a little bit of tension on them so you just have to push a little bit and they flip up quickly.

That looks pretty useful.

Anyone else know if any of these scope covers match up well with other lights?:

edit: I measured 1.973" (50.11mm) head diameter for my Nitecore P30, which looks like it will match well with Size 31.
