They have 3 different flavors: spearmint, peppermint, and cinnamon. They all taste pretty good. The caffeine makes it slightly bitter, but it's way better than coffee in my opinion. I think the constant chewing of the gum helps relieve any extra stress the caffeine gives me.

u/jsmayne · 19 pointsr/todayilearned

and one can achieve the same effect with caffeine pills at 3cents/pill

it's not about cost it's about marketing.

some people will buy anything

u/mbrellisford · 17 pointsr/gainit

After the pre-workouts are finished, I'd recommend you don't buy them anymore. There are way WAY cheaper alternatives.

Buy creatine monohydrate. $37 for 380 servings.
Buy 200mg caffeine pills. $12 for 240 servings.

Just saved you from buying PWOs for the year.

I'm thoroughly addicted to the 100mg Stay Alert caffeine gum (now called Military Energy Gum) after getting it in a First Strike Ration
. The cinnamon flavor tastes like a cinnamon butthole, but that's a way better flavor than a mint butthole.

u/FellofftheSpiral · 6 pointsr/fasting

Yep. Drank only water and occasionally herbal teas w/ 0 calories. Also supplemented electrolytes with this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078T93T3C/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_EKZYCbM41WXYA

That grey bottle looks like something else. Chalk is the reddish bottle at around 0:47 below the Samsung up for display.

http://www.amazon.com/MILITARY-ENERGY-GUM-Military-Caffeine/dp/B000J2LTNQ That stuff is amazing, yawning to OMG I'M AWAKE in 2 min flat. Plus it's cheaper and less sugar :)

u/chad4life · 2 pointsr/caffeine

Stacking with Theanine will make caffeine more effective (use a 1:2 ratio where you take twice as much theanine than caffeine). I’m a fan of this product: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074G3SYTT/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_Bp-vCbV3HKE4V

It seems like I’ve read that combining fat (e.g. butter or coconut oil) to coffee can increase the duration and strength. Can’t vouch for it personally- but check out bulletproof coffee.

u/3FingersOfMilk · 2 pointsr/Fitness

There's this T6 stimulant on Amazon that has teacrine it and providers a good kick. I was presently surprised.

Edit: Here's a link.

A couple weeks ago, gym bro offered me some of his pre-workout which has 274 mg of caffeine per scoop. At first I was very skeptical about the supplement as I normally experience heart palpitations with previous pre-workouts. Gym bro's pre-workout, however, allowed me to have the best upper workout I had in a long time!

Me, being the poor college student, decided to buy caffeine pills which has 200 mg of caffeine per tablet. I took a caffeine tablet for today's lower workout in hopes of achieving the same experience I had with gym bro's pre-workout. Unfortunately, I started experiencing heart palpitations during my workout. The only thing I can think of is that gym bro's pre-workout contains L-citrulline, which I discovered to be a vasodilator. If I were to buy Citrulline and take it with a caffeine tablet, could it possibly give me the same wonderful effect as gym bro's pre-workout?

Have you been prescribed the standard therapies? Calcium channel blockers, or maybe PDE-5 inhibitors?

It might be worth looking into beet root powder just to increase your nitrate levels. Or eat ~500g per day of nitrate veggies specifically. That's about the only supplement I can recommend.

u/Zamiewithazee · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Oh man, so we gotta find the characters AND the extras in the scene? There goes breakfast time :T

EDIT: FINISHED & PM'D! :3

If we're going to be reasonable here, I'd love to be able to make decent coffee, but if <$10 is preferred, energy gum would be good too! :) Thank you for the contest, it was super fun!

u/AceTheIceman · 2 pointsr/energydrinks

I've tried it before, I don't remember exactly what brand but if I recall correctly, one piece was 70mg of caffeine. I had two pieces and it tasted ridiculously bitter but I didn't notice any extra energy afterwards.

Edit: I found it, turns out it's 100mg per piece and two pieces still didn't do anything for me lol.

For future reference you only would need half of one of these and they're like 6c a pill.

As far as staying awake in lecture your only option is to just take notes as hard as you can. try to write down every word your professor says.

u/conscriptvirus · 2 pointsr/AdviceAnimals

I chew caffeine gum such as the Stay Alert caffeine gum. It's absorbed through your cheeks' mucous membrane, so you'll feel the effects pretty soon. Only 100mg of caffeine. Don't get the cinnamon flavored one though.

u/Frackenbrau · 2 pointsr/Homebrewing

Its all good dude, for electrolytes I like to use capsule's like these. Makes it easy and you dont have to figure out ratios on your own. You can by them seperately as Magnesium citrate, Potassium Citrate, and you can Get Sodium from kosher or Pink himilayan sea salt. Sea salt is good because it contains other trace minerals as well. For Muscle recovery Glutamine and BCAA's are amazing.

I'm no excercise elitist either. We love doing bike rides to brewerys and back. I just save the recovery until i'm done drinking. I've found that to be pretty effective.

u/madirap99 · 2 pointsr/running

Thanks for your post !! I would say you are HelloOfAGoodGuy :). I had similar issues and still not able to figure out what is the issue. I had gone once to emergency room not knowing what was happening to me and gave me IV and discharged me after few hours and had few episodes of severe headaches, all of these episodes after a hard run in sun/heat. One surprising thing is that it I get these headaches/hangover like symptoms after couple of hours after my runs. I did wonder whether I had blood sugar problem but I since taking Salt tablets ( polyfit electrolyte tablets) and nuun after and before my runs and no episode since then. Still figuring out what is the right amount ?

Question : I like the idea of Pedialyte but seems little expensive and wondering whether are any natural alternatives.

u/badbrutus · 1 pointr/todayilearned

Little shameless self promotion: Good Morning Pill Turbo. 200mg caffeine, 25 cents per serving.

Eria Jarensis is legal alternative to amphetamines.

You should try this, read my trip review I just posted.

u/Reinheitsgebot43 · 1 pointr/Homebrewing

Are you kegging or bottling?

I’d make a 7% milk stout and add 2.2 grams of caffeine.

u/mynameisflorian · 1 pointr/keto

I cut out energy drink using these -- same active ingredient but without all the crap.

Also, as I said in another response, mineral water makes a great chaser for quality booze. Also, if you blow out across your tongue after taking a shot it evaporates the alcohol and reduces the urge to wash it down with something.

u/BlueSpader · 1 pointr/WTF

This gum is what the military gives in its first strike rations. It works and is really cheap in terms of caffeine kick. Now that I'm out, I just use it as a pre-workout pick me up.

60% OF THE TIME IT'S BETTER THEN METH ALL THE TIME.

u/Neuromancer311 · 1 pointr/Nootropics

It was actually Jarrow Formulas this time around. 500mg, 5% standardized rosavins.

https://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Rhodiola-Enhances-Reduces/dp/B0013OULQ0

I think it would never make "the difference" if that makes sense. Like it won't tip the scales in your favor - nothing so dramatic. What it will do is make stressful situations seem easier. Annoying co-worker comes by to harass you? It seems more a trivial game to be won than a serious life situation.

u/eleitl · 1 pointr/Nootropics

I'm buying http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0013OULQ0/ which claims 5% rosavins and http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0010VG6VA/ which claims 1% salidroside and 3% rosavin.

I would try both (if you can get it capped by somebody else, try a blind experiment, no need for double-blind), and see how it works for you.

I would also try to start low, and then dose up. I do seem to notice slight tolerance buildup, but the mood improvement does not seem to wear off.

http://www.amazon.com/Equate-Compare-Alertness-Caffeine-Strength/dp/B0013U3RWY/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1382576053&sr=8-4&keywords=caffeine+pills

Equate brand at walmart is super cheap. I threw a bottle in my backpack and never looked back. A teacher whined I was dosing off, so I took one before here class every day.

I still drink tea or coffee every morning, but if you have two tests back to bsck or something, or you are in class and start to doze off, this is cheaper than some adderal or whatever. God knows how many people could probably save money and not have fake adhd anymore if they took caffeine pills.

Of note: if you put the bottle just at the bottom of your backpack, the cap will work itself loose and the pills will turn into a fine yellow dust. Keep it in a side pouch. 3 or 4 cents for an energy boost vs 2.50 and 200 plus calories.

(the story of how I got to this eas kind of crazy. I decided to buy one of those overpriced energy drinks because I was tired right? 2min before math, not time to go to the student union and get something there, so I buy one with a 5 from the vending machine. No change. I got worried about being late, so I stormed off without even getting a second one for my money. I paid 5 bucks for a 12 oz monster. That was what brought me to this. It is way healthier too, in comparison to starbucks saturated fat storms and sugar bombs. Fuck refined sugar/obesity/diabetes)

u/DeeBoFour20 · 1 pointr/todayilearned

Yea I don't see the point. I like an occasional energy drink because it's a drink and when the store puts them on sale for 2 for $3 it's about the same price as a soda.

If you just want energy without the drink, caffeine pills are SO CHEAP! That bottle could last you a month or two for $2. I'm surprised at all the people that waste money on this stuff. Plus the pills contain JUST CAFFEINE from a pharmaceutical company. I know they put some sketch stuff in energy drinks/shots that can give some people a negative reaction they wouldn't have otherwise to just caffeine. Plus caffeine probably causes 90+% of the effect you're looking for anyway.

u/kakanczu · 1 pointr/SelfDrivingCars

If you haven't slept enough but need to drive, keep some caffeine pills in your car. You can also pull over and get coffee. I'd prefer to skip spending extra for crappy coffee to just get caffeine. Each pill is about 1.5 cups of coffee. If it's a shorter drive, take half. Doesn't make me jittery or anything but I also drink a fair amount of coffee.

u/EgoSumV · 1 pointr/neoliberal

Caffeine pills are pretty cheap, or you could just drink black tea.

u/amp13 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

i've been wanting to try out this caffeinated gum, yesterday i had like 5 cups of coffee, so im interested in an alternative. Super!

u/Abenomics101 · 1 pointr/japanlife
u/LockAndCode · 1 pointr/Military

I live on that gum. 2-3 pieces a day. It's fucking awesome. Ever since I found it on Amazon it has totally replaced coffee for me at work. Only the cinnamon is edible, of course. It's the most addictive caffeine delivery system I've ever experienced. I've actually gotten about a dozen coworkers hooked on it over the last 3-4 years.

They really need to get this gum into the regular MREs. I always hated having to dump that dry Folgers crap down my gullet just to keep from falling asleep.

u/acus · 1 pointr/Fitness

I found tracking my diet helped a ton. Using a food scale and the myfitnesspal app made a huge difference for me. I started tracking all those little 'snacks' which were eating up my deficit.

All the weight loss products are ineffective. If it gives you a psychological boost to stick to your diet, go for it. A caffeine pill will do the same (https://www.amazon.com/Caffeine-L-Theanine-Smooth-Focused-Energy/dp/B00L9J93Z4). Or a cup of coffee/tea. Caffeine will help kill your hunger also.

u/marker_sniffer · 1 pointr/amazon

I've tried a few of them and don't experience anything different than I would have if I just had a cup of coffee. They were the reason I started to do reviews for products. Maybe there's a good one out there, but it wasn't sent to me to try.

I hear Joe Rogan talk about them on his show, I experience nothing like that.

This was the first one I tried: http://amzn.com/B00MD0MJ86

Then this: http://amzn.com/B00M8EZE6G

And last: http://amzn.com/B00L9J93Z4

All gave me more energy, none helped with focus. Clearer thinking is what I was going for.

u/Victawr · 0 pointsr/uwaterloo

Everywhere, but I suggest these.

Because of the stupid stigma people have against the word 'pills', its rebranded a lot of the time in stores and wont be called caffeine. It will be like Vivaren or something like that.

I recommend 200mg pills. Its basically a large coffee.

Don't take more than 1600mg/day or you'll probably die.

And don't take caffeine if you're planning on pulling allnighters lmao. Go find some student selling Modafinil or something, caffeine is probably the LEAST effective thing for that.

Go walk into the asian supermarket and buy some Matcha powder and boil that up.

----

However, to those curious, if you're like me and make a distraction out of getting coffee, I highly suggest getting caffeine pills.
