well i have three guides so far to help out buckaroos who are still learning THE WAY OF THE BUCK

GUIDE TO ROMANCE https://www.amazon.com/Chuck-Tingles-Complete-Guide-Romance/dp/1514740737/

GUIDE TO SPORT https://www.amazon.com/Chuck-Tingles-Complete-Guide-Sport/dp/1536916447/

GUIDE TO THE VOID https://www.amazon.com/dp/1544123817/

this is a good place to start and will teach you the ways of traditional horseplay with a bud or multiple buds.

really main way to be a buckaroo though is to PROVE LOVE IS REAL every day. this means when you wake up you think 'how can i prove that love is real in my own way?' sometimes that means telling someone that they did a good job and sometimes it means letting someone go ahead of you in line. but when you live this lifestyle it all starts to add up and then the others around you will think 'hey i would like to prove love too!'

so that is mostly the buckaroo lifestyle, just trot proudly and you are off to a good start

It's by Arturo Torres, I think for the book Basketball (And Other Things) by Shea Serrano (or maybe the newsletter by the same name).

I mean there's plenty of first hand accounts. I don't expect you to believe me but there are plenty stories of not just him but others as well in books like this.

Even if you're not a fan of wrestling it's a pretty interesting read.

Even Andy Blagwell, who wrote this, admitted that his research revealed Coach K's black hair as natural.

>N&O: So does Coach K dye his hair?

>AB: Honestly – you know what? I don’t think he does. And that was one of the most stunning things that came out of writing the book for me. I was convinced that a man that’s over 60 years old could not have jet-black hair. But the person that we talked to, who had written a book on hair coloring, looked at hundreds of photos of him. And his verdict was, you know, I don’t think he does. Also – the other big thing that kind of lends into it is his Polish descent – so apparently that’s a hereditary trait within people of Polish descent, that some of them don’t go gray at all. And there was some other evidence in there. But that was honestly stunning to me. And we reluctantly admitted in the book that we are now convinced he does not dye his hair.

Crazy? Yep, that'd be right.

To be fair, the grand tour riders go much faster, averaging around 25 mph.

Bob Roll says that every cyclist should ride across the US once in their life, but never, ever race across the US.

He's got a couple of educational books out now if that's what's scaring you.

Also: he's a goddamn national treasure

Here's a good fun interestingly presented short-ish history of the NHL written by Sean McIndoe (who now writes his Down Goes Brown hockey column for the Athletic):

https://www.amazon.com/Down-Goes-Brown-History-NHL/dp/B07JVGYGT4

I have the audible version and love listening to it randomly.

It's by a graphic designer named Craig Robinson, who also made a fantastic book book containing many of those infographics, as well as some additional ones.

u/zaikanekochan · 4 pointsr/CollegeBasketball

No, he's pretty much an asshole once you get outside of the media's narrative.

Deadspin from 2014

Other noteable things: Yelling at student reporters for not grading his team better.

When he quit on his team in 1995 for being bad, and not wanting to stain his own record.

When William Avery decided he was going to leave a year early, K yelling at his mother, "Your son is going to fuck my program."

There's a bunch in the book, Duke Sucks if you're interested.

I swear I read an interview where Big Show said he shattered a toilet in India

EDIT: It was in this book: Are We There Yet?: Tales from the Never-Ending Travels of WWE Superstars

Because I have to deal with Yankee fans everyday.

For further information read this. Gives reasons why most fans can hate the Yankees.

I'd go for UK because George Mahood demonstrated fairly easy success there with this situation.

Coming from YOU guys? You're like the inventors of the whole system. There's literally a published book outlining the reasons why Duke sucks :P

Jokes aside, I didn't even choose this PSN back when the PS3 came out. You'd have to argue with my brother on why UNC cheats, cause I don't care nearly as much about it.

Yes all those prints are by Arturo. Huge fan of his and plan on grabbing a few more for different rooms in my house. The book on the table is illustrated by him. Its called Basketball and Other Things by Shea Serrano. I love all the things these dudes do!

u/-TakeCareOfYourShoes · 2 pointsr/nfl

Lol well I'm sure he'd love to hear that. He's an author and what you said there sounds like something he'd say on Twitter. Plus he's Mexican and ya know... your username.

He wrote these two books:

Rap Year Book

Basketball (and Other Things)

The second of the two Obama put on his list of favorite things he read in 2017 (I also read it and it's great but I'm not quite as noteworthy as Obama)

u/bjilly · 2 pointsr/baseball

I got this book which I've only flipped through so far but it looks awesome!

u/Shalabadoo · 2 pointsr/barstoolsports

on twitter ? The guys who run "chapo trap house" which is a socialist politics podcast. He converses with them a lot on twitter. I've been following him for a while, for a while he made fun of stupid criticisms of Obama , and even wrote a whole goddamn book about it

Obviously he's super smart enough to take all perspectives, but he comes off as pretty liberal, as do Big Cat and Chaps. We don't know his perspective on a ton of economics issues, but he strikes me as a pretty heavy liberal based on following him. Not that it matters

Awesome writer too.
Basketball (and Other Things): A Collection of Questions Asked, Answered, Illustrated https://www.amazon.com/dp/1419726471/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_knQ6Cb9WJHC5X
Phenomenal book.

They are excellent. We're well known for our chicken balti pies.

u/VacationsOver · 1 pointr/nba

Basketball and Other Things by Shea Serrano - it's great

u/murphy38 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Be Ready When the Sh*t Goes Down: A Survival Guide to the Apocalypse by former UFC Champ and jokester Forrest Griffin is one that I've been wanting to read for a long time.

What If: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions by XKCD creator Randall Munroe also looks really interesting and funny too.

Either of those would be great gifts to receive!

Thanks for the contest!

Check out Bill Simmons, founder/editor of Grantland (which Klosterman is a contributor to). Simmons mostly writes about sports, his best known work includes The Book of Basketball and Now I Can Die In Peace

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crossing-Europe-Bike-Called-Reggie/dp/1849142130

at the start 50 miles (80km) a day is probably fine, but you'll get up to doing 60-80 (100-130km) comfortably after a few days.

I aim ot average 70miles / 90km but i don't camp and go fairly lightweight. I do prefer to go some harder days then an easy short day here and there

This will be slower in the alps... much slower

I found the link if anyone wants to get it. My grandpa is a huge Browns fan too so I really got a kick out of this post and now my mom has her present ready for my grandpa's next birthday!

I got this book for a sports fan who was hard to buy for and he loved it!

It sounds like PFT Commenter's book: Goodell vs. Obama: The Battle for the Future of the NFL

Another book I highly recommend - Has some history but also nonsense, Shea Serrano is a fantastic author - Basketball (and Other Things)

u/onexbigxhebrew · 1 pointr/MMA

He also had a multiple choice test in his book "Be Ready When the Shit Goes Down: Forrest Griffin's Guide to The Apocalypse" that basically asks (but in a much funnier way):

"Anderson Silva just knocked you out in front of an Arena full of people - do you:

a) Come back with a weapon, like a bazooka next time
b) Run out of the octagon and arena like a crazy person"
c) etc

Can't remember how it was all worded, bjt I remember losing my shit at the running thing, because that's what he did lol.

Edit: here it is - Be Ready When the Sh*t Goes Down: A Survival Guide to the Apocalypse https://www.amazon.com/dp/0061998265/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_YxKUCbB8A2P7Z

I'm reading his book right now, Goodell Vs. Obama. It's hilarious and worth the $5 so far

I'm sure I'll get downvoted, but knowing the history of Duke the way I do.. it's kind of stupid to say it's undeserved.

Maybe from an outsider who hasn't watched much college basketball I could see your perspective, but if you know the last 100 years of the sport - there is a reason people dislike Duke.

I mean, they wouldn't be making a documentary about Laettner called "I Hate Christian Laettner" for a reason. He stepped on people for fucks sake.

And when their own players say they get special treatment - it's not just a pie in the sky.

Winslow kicked one of our players in the gut and then tried to trip another one. It's documented on tape. He also tried to trip a Virgina player. He's a dirty player.

I won't go into Rasheed's legal troubles, but he also used to steal the ball in the last 30 seconds of a game and dunk on people. That happened a couple times this year.

Duke fans have to accept that they are Duke fans and people don't like them. Ignoring their arrogance is just ignorant of basketball history. Hell, their are popular [selling books on the subject] (http://www.amazon.com/Duke-Sucks-Completely-Evenhanded-Investigation/dp/1250004632). You couldn't just make a bunch of salty shit up and put it in a book and have people buy it.

Having said all that there are some nice Duke fans. My car Mechanic is a Duke fan and I tell him, "I'll give you my money anyway I guess." And we laugh. Not all the fans are little shits, but some are.
