Probably a cooling vest, this one looks similar, but with active cooling. A couple locals use ice vests for warming up for TTs in the summer (95F+, 60%+ humidity).

I’ve seen first aid bandage wrap that sticks to itself (only) so “tape” may not be accurate. The idea is a mom with kid in stroller probably has or can find this easily, by making an extra turn at drugstore or supermarket, when buying diapers, wipes, or detergent. Instead of sports store for tennis grips.

Edit: Self adherent wrap. Found it on amazon, sharing link with reviews https://www.amazon.com/Eco-Flex-Self-Stick-Cohesive-Self-Adherent-Compression/dp/B07JKHK6J3

Shock Doctor makes a case that clips to your bag handles.

My son uses this.

u/im14 · 5 pointsr/flexibility

I do a lot of circus training (including contortion, but also hand balancing and tumbling) and these things have really made a difference for me. I roll out while watching videos or listening to audio book last thing before bed and it always feels amazing. I start with rollers that have larger surface area (such as foam roller) and work my way to smaller surface area (such as rad roller or lacrosse ball). I don't have a routine, just roll out whatever parts of body feel tired or tight.

  • rad roller
  • gofit ball
  • normal foam roller, half size
  • yoga wheel - more useful for flexibility training, especially back and splits. I like just draping my upper back or hips over it and relaxing in the stretch.

If I had to pick just one, it'd be gofit ball. That thing is very easy to use to target a muscle group, not too intense like lacross ball would be, not limited to one plane of motion like rad roller is. Hard to use gofit ball on the back though.

Highly recommend gofit ball for hip/shoulder/back release if that's the only thing you're gonna get.

get a mouth gaurd specifically designed for people with braces. It might look a little weirder than a pacifier but it will work and cover all your brackets.

OPro Power-Fit

Nice middle ground between a full blown custom and a regular mouthguard.

You mould it yourself at home, so it fits perfectly once it's set. Been using mine for Muay Thai/BJJ for about 10 months now, no issues.

ProTip: drink hot tea or water to warm up your teeth prior to moulding the guard in your mouth, it will save your chompers some pain.

Many orthodontist can make you a custom one.

I'd look at this for a survival kit. As long as you diligently replace anything you use, it can replace a lot of stuff. For bug spray, get something as close to 100% DEET that you can find. Carry concentrated and dilute just before use.

Add a handkerchief; you'll never run out of uses for it. It can prefilter your water, be a wash cloth, pot holder, keep the sun off you neck (get it wet to keep you cool), etc.

I read earlier the recommendation to weigh everything individually. I can't overemphasize this enough. You'll have a few "holy shit" moments where you realize how much something weighs.

I bought this mouthguard. It's excellent. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F2U1H64/ref=twister_B00GSN63IG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Before that I tried another brand that was terrible.

Unlike a traditional mouthguard, which I think is what you're currently using, this is designed specifically for the issue you're talking about.

Then you need to get on some allergy meds or get one of the double sided mouthguards with a gap for breathing.

Something similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/Shock-Doctor-Double-Strapless-Mouthguard/dp/B0028RBTW6

u/Muthachucka · 2 pointsr/braces

This would be very helpful to massage out my knots or this to ice my feet after a long day at work. I stand 10-14 hours a day and I have joint issues so I need some help please!

My favorite color at the moment is purple. It recently changed to purple from pale yellow.

u/HamsterManV2 · 1 pointr/bodybuilding

I got a roll of athletic tape and wrapped it around my callus. Hurts much less and protects it from being worse. Used straps for deadlift in meantime, other exercises were OK.

I got this (sorry on mobile):

Do it. Just make sure to take care of your feet. Blisters suck, and running again on just healing blisters sucks more. Vaseline all over your feet before putting on your socks, or use this stuff. It's magical. I did 50 miles at WTM liberally applying this stuff. My knees were toast, but I got absolutely zero blisters on my feet.

I haven't heard of GurneyGoo before, but the fact that it is durable on the body is great news. I see [Amazon has it.] (https://www.amazon.com/GurneyGoo-Anti-Chafe-Anti-Blister-Prevention-Waterproofing/dp/B00SQ1DQY2/)

u/tictacblackback · 1 pointr/powerlifting

I was using goat tape for a while. I found that properly setting my thumbs/hands alleviated the need for the tape tho.

Leg gains aside, this really helped me with my elbow tendonitis.

I agree with a custom fit dentist mould but if that's not an option then the mouth guard I always recommend in the SISU Max 2.4mm.

These mouthguards are much thinner than your standard mouthguards but they are bulletproof. They aren't like your normal boil and bites, they come completely flat. You put it in warm water and it softens and you fold it around your teeth and use your tongue to shape it and suck on it for a good fit. If you somehow manage to fuck it up, you pop it back into the water and it will flatten itself out again, it's incredible. Because they are so thin you can talk normally with it in and drink water etc without having to take it out which is good because there's no way you'd be able to get it out with gloves on, you need to pick it out with your fingers as it is so snug.

https://www.amazon.com/SISU-Guards-Custom-Sports-Mouthguard/dp/B07J2NH4JB

They also do a thinner 1.6mm version but I've never used that personally.

Your new BFF

You are welcome.

Do your cervical CARs and Cat/Cow stretches. Your neck will have better ability to handle the loading.

u/indiie · 1 pointr/tall

Don't know about others but for me it was about massage to get my locked up muscles to relax then strengthening them. Get one of these and get into those tight back muscles. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IKFGMWM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ah.CAb3SSKQA3
I use a hockey (lacrosse) ball too.

u/WinterCharm · 1 pointr/medicalschool

Get them a FIRST AID KIT!

It'll mean a lot coming from someone who's in medical school, and it's a useful practical thing to have.

u/oh_myglob · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This should help ease her back pain. A hot compress relaxes the muscles so she should feel better when she's wearing it.

Here is something from my wishlist. A used copy is only $2.28! :)

And, last but not least - ending on a happy note... This is a picture of my puppy when his floppy ears were just beginning to stand up on their own.

Let's be pain free and I hope your mom recovers quickly!

Edit: Also, Tiger Balm works wonders for aching muscles!

u/joejitsubjj · 1 pointr/bjj

Both of my kids used this

They were happy to get a new mouth guard once the braces came off but it did the trick.

u/purplendicular · 1 pointr/tennis

Not a brace, but if you ever need to ice (or heat) your ankle, this works so well. Envelopes your foot/ankle in cold - everything blue is gel that gets cold.

First aid kit or survival kit. I keep something like this on me at all times anyways.
