This is a fascinating article. It's hard to believe that women have been complaining about lack of pockets for over a hundred years. I wonder if we all just need to start voting with our wallets and make more of an effort to purchase clothing with sufficient pockets.

Some suggestions for anyone who's interested:

As per the xxfitness FB page, I present the magical blue leggings. True to fit, stay put, pass the squat test, on the cheap.

u/suigenius · 28 pointsr/FrugalFemaleFashion

Came here to say 90 Degree Leggings by Reflex as well! I've had some of mine for ~4 years with weekly wear and they're still going strong.

TJ Maxx is my usual purchase spot.

u/36QuestioningMTF · 21 pointsr/MtF

Sorry to hear that, we have to be seriously careful being trans. To lose weight I've been doing daily hikes/walks and have been wearing tights (I have both a cute blue pair and a grey pair, along with some cute light blue/light pink accented walking shoes, just got some these pink yoga/running shorts: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RWN1YRN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ). I tuck to hide having a bulge, I find that very unsightly.

Anyways its not all guys, but there are certainly some sketch looking guys as I walk around my beach side town. Being somewhat androgynous (even though I'm pre everything, I think I pull off andro somewhat) and wearing somewhat female attire, those guys certainly can freak me out. Specially some of the guys that have bulked up their body, can make me nervous.

I live in a fairly liberal town, but we are also a big tourist town, so summer can bring in all types of people. So be careful out there all us trans males/females/non-binary. Not all the world is ready for us trans that are out of the norm of two binary genders.

>Alternately, compression leggings are a mainstay in exercise wear for a reason. They might be "skin tight" as OP describes, but they also stay put through the whole workout

Another grand thing about compression tights, capris or shorts, is that they hold your muscles firmly in place. No flapping, no bulges, and the compression will actually help prevent post-exercise soreness by reducing water retention caused by inflammation. I find that after losing a bunch of weight, my loose skin doesn't do a good job of holding my muscles in place - compression tights help so much with that.

[Here's an example](https://www.amazon.com/CompressionZ-Womens-Compression-Pants-Black/dp/B015QOIH5O/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3GZ8D8K38390M&keywords=compression+tights+women&qid=1570151780&sprefix=compression+ti%2Caps%2C214&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExUzJZUTZUMEJUVVZYJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwOTQ2MjgwMUc2M0M3M0pVSU04MCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMTQ3NjAwMkI2VzAzV1paMjAxNyZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=)

These are my favorite leggings, apparently they're technically yoga pants, which I guess is what I like about them. They're structured and opaque which is what I want since I'm a legging-as-pants sort of girl. Also I've had them a year and a half and they're still doing great.

My favorite tunic is from Eileen Fisher, I don't see it on their site right now but it's similar to this but longer and with a slightly higher neckline, and it's got a thick inner layer with a thin outer one. I got it for $10 from VV and it's my favorite thing I own right now. Trying to scope out some others to add to my rotation because it makes me sad to wash it because then I have to stop wearing it.

u/epic-LEPTIC · 8 pointsr/yoga

5'7"ish Male here. I prefer what they call 'fisherman's pants'. I love em for yoga and wear em traveling because they are so comfy. You can roll them up to fit you properly too.

u/mikmaq_paddywhack · 8 pointsr/egg_irl

I got this pair for like $15 I think and they fit really well, plus I also got these and these, which are kind of more femme and brightly colored but they fit nicely.

Depending on what you're looking for (I know that Lu La Roe has a lot of crazy patterns, right?), I'd recommend 90 degrees by reflex from Amazon. I have the yoga pants which are basically long leggings, nice thickness. I am 5'8", size 10 and I have a M that goes all the way past my ankles. I have other leggings by them that are shorter that I use mostly for working out.

u/cannedunicornmeat · 5 pointsr/xxfitness

These magical unicorn leggings. ;)
https://www.amazon.com/90-Degree-Reflex-Yoga-Capris/dp/B00ID0S99I
I own two and they are not see through (they pass the squat test!) they are super cute and hold every part of me together!

u/justcallmecoco · 5 pointsr/xxfitness

i swear by the reflex 90 degree yoga pants! the come in a high waist style which I LOVE! Can be found at TJMaxx but also on amazon.. http://www.amazon.com/90-Degree-Reflex-Shine-Capri/dp/B00TKM4LPY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452213203&sr=8-1&keywords=reflex+90+degree+capri

u/tsquaredwsu · 3 pointsr/July2019Bumpers

I love Lululemon leggings, but I’m trying to cut costs, so these 90 Degree by Reflex ones are getting the job done. I still prefer Lulus, but these work!

u/ComicDebris · 3 pointsr/yoga

Clothing: I usually wear bargain brand gym clothes, but I do kind of like these knee length shorts. If you order some, buy one size larger than you think you need. Also, compression underwear or athletic fit boxer briefs in wicking material.

As far as the other topics, I think the top comments nailed it.

u/galaxystarsmoon · 3 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Super cheap: Forever21... they have different lengths; you may want to buy cropped.

These are another step up in price and are nearly full length on me, so they may be good for you.

u/blahblahbecca98 · 3 pointsr/fitpregnancy

Yeah! I love them. Prior to pregnancy I always got the high waisted version. But they were t comfortable for me after because of being so freaking short. I’ll see if I can find the link on Amazon because there was one style that wasn’t squat proof.

Edit: this is the style I always get

There are full length options as well and a ton of colors.

u/Meerkatable · 2 pointsr/PlusSize

They only go up to XXXL but I love these running pants. They have pockets on both legs.

u/Elziebelzie123 · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

What a gorgeous little one! I get so broody when I see such adorable pictures haha! It’s okay that you’re working, I know the first birthday seems a big deal but there will be so many more to come and so many that she’ll actually remember! I’m sure you treat her like the little princess she is anyway so she knows with every fibre of her being that you love her to pieces!☺️💕

And I love noodles. But the item I’d love on my wishlist is this yoga mat or these yoga socks as I quit the gym a few months ago because I had no time for it but I’d love to get back into yoga in my free time - it’s so calming!💕

I bought these I'm 2017 and they're my favorite pair I own. The pockets are super deep and the material is very thick and stretchy.

u/blowjobs4everyone · 2 pointsr/xxfitness
u/meriendaselgato · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I'm 5'2" and I really like these from Baleaf. I don't recommend the charcoal color because it is cottony and a completely different fabric from the solid colors, but I have them in black and they are great. Definitely squat proof. I haven't measured the rise but they come up pretty darn high. They are a hair long but it's not problematic for me, as someone who wears anywhere from 26-28" in jeans.

I also own 90 Degree by Reflex and while I like them for some purposes, they are certainly not squat proof in my experience (and it's not an issue of them being too small).

u/losthours · 2 pointsr/TallGirls

My girlfriend is 6'1" and wears and works out in in leggings she gets from Amazon called baleaf..

Here is the direct link from her Amazon account

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01GFEKHSY?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_pd_title

They don't pill, are not see through and she has had this pair since 2017 and she wears em all the time.

u/ShootMeTwelveDollars · 2 pointsr/running

You might try something like this.

I'm a big fan of this brand, especially for the price. I prefer to run in lined running shorts, but their leggings are also fantastic. Reviews suggest that these are as nice as the leggings. The material is really nice and sturdy, and compresses some without feeling restrictive or being see-through.

u/iheartbrainz · 2 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I have some pairs of yoga shirts kind of like these that I've been wearing under shirts and dresses. Bonus because they have a pocket where I put my phone when my dress doesn't!

That brand also has some with a shorter inseam.

u/Greyven · 2 pointsr/dagorhir

I'd consider getting a pair of these for garb pants:
Thai
Fisherman
Pants

They're cheap, look decent for garb, are comfortable, and mine at least have held up.

u/Hamletpiano · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I bought a couple different ones, but they're essentially all the same. I think this is the bestselling one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015QOIH5O

I've never tried Lululemon or other $$$ leggings though, just VS sports and other similarly priced leggings. They do give cameltoe since there's a seam down the middle, but I always wear longer sweaters/tunics/workout shirts with them anyway.

u/Angeldlynn · 2 pointsr/orangetheory

Not leggings but shorts that I love and I believe that make leggings.

I've found RBX thermal leggings at TJ Maxx before

u/tornado28 · 2 pointsr/AcroYoga

It took me forever to find something to wear. Eventually I found these and I'm very happy. They don't fall up like normal gym shorts, they're not super tight and they're still athletic shorts. The pockets aren't ideal for flying but I've never had any problems and I fly a fair amount.

u/kdennis · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I just bought these and I am obsessed. They are so comfortable, and they have ones with mesh too. TJ Maxx has a bunch of these brand right now, actually.

u/internet_observer · 2 pointsr/Aerials

I generally get the "reflex by 90 degrees" tights off Amazon. They are like $10/pair and great There are two different kinds, one comes in patterns the other is solid colors, slight more expensive but breathes a little better. I get my leotards from discountdance and Gkelite. The discount dance ones are cheaper but slightly thicker material. The gkelite ones fit me a little better, breathe better and don't cause leotard butt but are more expensive and slightly thinner material.

u/lifeinspace · 2 pointsr/xxfitness

If I remember correctly they're these ones https://www.amazon.com/90-Degree-Reflex-Yoga-Capris/dp/B00ID0S99I in "Reflex Blue" but I could be wrong! I remembered seeing a thread a few days back and still had the amazon link in my history :)

u/MulderHeartsScully · 1 pointr/AskWomen

If you are short-ish thai fisherman pants are great. They are one size fits all and unisex, so if you are above average height they might be a bit short. But they are super comfy, and semi warm.

I have a different model of Baleaf and I love them too, I need more pairs! Feel like the sizing was true to the chart.

u/Bludae · 1 pointr/POTS

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis and all the complications it's causing for you.

I have it too, although my spike don't go quite as high. I wanted to suggest compression leggings. Socks are good, leggings are better. I noticed an improvement immediately. I bought these on Amazon, they're thin enough to wear under jeans, so I'm sure you could wear them under scrubs: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015QOIH5O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_eVQZAbA25M7M7

Not sure if you're a man or woman OP, but I'm sure there's a men's option as well.

Could you switch to PT that's something to do with say hands or arms? So you could be seated? Or would that be more like occupational therapy?

Wishing you the best of luck!

u/frostysbox · 1 pointr/AskWomen

These leggings are amazing. The are thick enough to provide tummy control and go from the boardroom to the dance club to yoga class.

I have 15 pairs in different colors and they are a staple of my wardrobe.

u/SohrabJamshid · 1 pointr/yoga

I have 3 pairs of these and they're awesome. For shirts, I just searched through redbubble for prints I liked and then ordered them in tri-blend which is really breathable material that will soak up sweat like cotton, but won't stick (at least it doesn't stick to me and I'm pretty hairy lol). The shirts are a little pricey, but from my understanding the artists get a decent cut of the profits for their work and the shirts are good quality.
