Best surf board leashes according to redditors

I lost one a couple weeks ago, got leashes, broke the leashes after a week or so.

Not super encouraged to buy another set of these, open to suggestions.

Consider getting a double handled leash. Keeping the puppy right close to you gives him fewer alternatives. It will also help if you start basic training classes. The "watch me" command is easy to teach and makes everything so much easier.

• Get the Greco 8ft foam board. It's the first board I ever used and right at 250$. It is a total beast and I still use it to this day. Everyone who has ever used it claims it's the easiest board to ride (it's the only thing my girlfriend rides that isn't my penis). The owners are super cool and will ship you stuff if anything breaks or whatever. After 2 years of ownership I had the leash anchor snap off and they shipped me one the next day.
  
• These are the surfboard straps/soft rack I recommend. You can get them on amazon or any surfboard shop.
  
• Get an 8ft leash. I personally don't care about brands.
  
• Get some wax. You're in florida so you'll need warm water wax I assume. I don't use a base coat on my foam board, but I always use wax, because fuck slipping off a foam board.

No it would not harm the board. If you are worried about riding it with four holes in it, you can buy plugs for bodyboard leashes to cover the holes. Here is something that would work. You would need to buy two for total of four plugs.

I'm officially picking up my yak tomorrow and I'm pretty pumped about it. I'm not bringing my fishing gear the first few times I go out. As the top comment on your post states I'll only be bringing my PFD, paddle, leash and my watertight box to protect my keys and belongings while I'm out there.

I bought this PFD and wasn't aware that it actually comes with a whistle in the front pocket. Didn't realize that's what that orange thing is in the picture. The description doesn't even mention it.

As for leashes, I bought this pack of 1 paddle + two pole leashes, though I got super lucky and got an Amazon Warehouse Deal that cut the price in half. Another highly-rated option would be this set, which are a lot cheaper without taking advantage of used or sale products.

This is the watertight box I'm bringing. Only $10 at Walmart. They carry the same one at Dick's for $15.
