You can still buy these on Amazon. They are compressed, so you have to shave off the tea with a knife.

The one in the picture is a "Half Brick". There also come in "Full Brick", "Hockey Puck", "Ecstacy Tablets", and "Chocolate Bar". The last two being easier to prepare.

Here's a youtube video of it being prepared just to give you an idea.

I like Yorkshire tea. I don't really need 1200 tea bags, but they last quite a while.

u/Lizzibabe · 8 pointsr/tea

Based on your list of Constant Comment products (Constant Comment original is fabulous!), it sounds like you're using teabags. So when we say "How much leaf to how much water", we're talking about the amount of tea leaves in the tea bag. So lets talk about whether you're using teacups (which usually contain 4-6 oz of liquid) or whether you're using mugs (which can range between 10-18 oz of liquid.) So if your current method gives you results that taste like flavored water, then lets add more teabags. Constant Comment instructions per the Bigelow website currently recommend 12 oz water per teabag. Please take this as a general guideline and add another teabag to make it stronger if you want. Maybe use 3 teabags. Give it a try and see how it goes.

I'm also going to second /u/LittleRoundFox and recommend Yorkshire and Yorkshire Gold tea. Its a heart English black tea that brews up very strong. I love it and will happily drink it with tea and sugar. I'll brew up 40 oz of the stuff in a stainless steal thermos and that'll last me thru 4 hours of studying. If you can't find it around you, you can order it from Amazon, and if you feel $4 or $5 is more than you want to pay for a box, then if you live in the US, DM me your address and I'll mail you sample.

In a few cases, tea can be an acquired taste. It used to be, I had to have sugar in my coffee and tea ALL THE TIME. then I did a diet change to cut the vast majority of sugar from my diet and then I could start tasting all the stuff that the sugar used to cover up. I'll still use sugar when I drink black tea, and Starbucks coffee ('cuz they burn their beans), but high-end chinese tea is delicious without sugar. Your Mileage May Vary, however.

I am assuming that you're trying to make the Thai iced tea served in restaurants and bubble tea shops? If so, this mix is what you're looking for :3 It's already got the tea and spices mixed in. In trying to find a recipe online to make my own blend, this brand came up over and over, and I have to admit, it really does taste exactly the same. I've since found it in several different Asian markets, so if you have one locally, you may want to try there first. It takes a fairly high tea to water ratio, because it needs to be very strong, and you will need to get a can of sweetened condensed milk to pour in after it's chilled.

I really love Throat Coat when I'm fasting. Throat Coat has no caffeine and has such a nice aftertaste, it almost feels like cheating!

u/Nam-Ereh-Won · 5 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

What flavor? I'm using these myself.

u/MagneticPerry · 5 pointsr/boba

I use this powder! I like it because it comes unsweetened so I can make it as sweet as I like.

I dont have exact measurements, but the way I make taro milk tea is with this powder, nondairy powdered creamer (traditionally user in boba shops to make "milk" teas), sugar and black tea. Play around with portions as you like, I think I started at 1:1 ratio creamer to taro powder. Pour that and sugar into hot black tea, stir, then pour over ice. If you have a drink shaker, you could shake the hot tea mixture with ice in that for a better iced result!

I worked in a boba shop for a time and based my recipe off of what I learned there. The "recipes" online are all pretty confusing and I never figured out how to make boba tea at home until after I had worked in a shop. You can follow this method for most milk teas. Hope this helps!

u/itprobablysucks · 5 pointsr/Nootropics

This one is for $4, but it's an add-on. This is a pretty good deal too.

u/roslein · 5 pointsr/AsianBeauty

My absolute favorite rose tea is the Signature rose tea from Huntington Gardens in California, which luckily you can buy online. They also have a white rose tea. Some close runners up include Lupicia Momoko tea (green tea with rose petals & sugar) and Pukka Womankind, which is rose and some other flavors, and Yogi Skin Detox rose hibiscus tea. I usually also have some other kind or kinds of rose tea on hand to try, but few of them are winners.

Drinking and sheet masking is a great way to destress. Enjoy!

This is the brand I use, the whole bag makes 4ish gallons and takes about 4-8 hours depending on how strong you want it. I just use a large stock pot and stir it every 20 min or so but there is a mesg holder you can get for the tea if you aren't going to be around to stir it e enough

Throat coat tea!!! https://www.amazon.com/Traditional-Medicinals-Organic-Throat-Seasonal/dp/B0009F3POO?th=1 Comes in regular or lemon - both are awesome. The lemon one covers up the faint licorice flavor that shows up in the plain one.

And the longer you let it steep, the more you notice a very subtle sweetness - I think from the licorice root... No carbs, super effective, and good either hot or iced.

Hope you feel better soon!!

u/Qivorose · 3 pointsr/Celiac

I am in the transition of getting tested for Celiac, I have had one test and the doctor told me I wasn't positive for Celiac, but I had a high level of gluten allergy, I am not sure what that means but I have most if not all of the Celiac symptoms. I know this isn't the section to be talking about this, but I am responding because my whole life I have suffered from chronic fatigue, and insomnia. I always drag and always feel drained, some days are better than others. I recently started feeling better when I figured I might have Celiac or some form of gluten problem and cut it out, but the fatigue is still there. I found that some B-12 liquid drops help me feel a boost of energy, shots help as well, the pills hurt my stomach though and don't help as much. Most times I have to practically mainline coffee, also I have found that Matcha green tea powder helps me quite a bit without that high and low you get from energy drinks, but it can get expensive (I've gotten it from Amazon when I have purchased it, this is the one I used to get. http://www.amazon.com/Matcha-Green-Tea-Powder-loose/dp/B000GB0TMW/ref=sr_1_1?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1393700434&sr=1-1&keywords=1+lb.+matcha+tea#legal-disclaimer. I am not positive about its gluten free factor and I haven't had it since I figured out that I had to stay away from gluten (I fear gluten now, I rather not eat than ingest gluten). I hope this helps you in some way and you feel better whatever you decide to do; I know how horrible it feels to function when you feel so tired and drained. Good luck with everything :D

u/filipkersey · 3 pointsr/kratom

I don't know why there's this misconception that matcha is too expensive to cut kratom with. low quality/culinary matcha is extremely cheap. for example. I can only imagine the price would be much cheaper if one were to buy in bulk quantities.

i agree with you. i'm sure the price varies all around the world dramatically as well. i wish i could enjoy matcha, but for some reason there's something in it that my body simply rejects :/

i like other forms of caffeine in small doses, like coffee and i have no problems with that. but matcha makes me puke my brains out

u/Caelrie · 3 pointsr/Cooking

Yah Thai tea is a star anise tea. It's definitely not the same. It's this:

https://www.amazon.com/Thai-Iced-Traditional-Restaurant-Style/dp/B00NJS4S6C/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1497281205&sr=8-1&keywords=thai+tea

That's even the same brand the vast majority of restaurants use.

u/Spitsongoats · 3 pointsr/secretsanta

I am not the OP, but here are a few of my suggestions: iphone case with a yorkie on it? A cute yorkie sweater?

A tea gift set that will get you an overwhelming amount of results on amazon. They have this tea that is flower and leaves tied together in a little bundle and you put it in this glass tea pitcher and it blooms. I got it a few years ago and it was pretty neat to check out. http://www.amazon.com/Numi-Organic-Flowering-Handcrafted-Mahogany/dp/B000FFIL92/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417715652&sr=8-1&keywords=tea+gift+set

This is a tea around the world set because of travelling-http://www.amazon.com/Tea-Forte-Single-Steeps-Sampler/dp/B008DVCAU6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1417715895&sr=8-2&keywords=tea+around+the+world

This yorkie tea cup is cute!!! I am not into that keep calm fade, but I like this. http://www.amazon.com/Large-Bistro-Ceramic-Coffee-Yorkies/dp/B00MI6I1DW/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1417715951&sr=8-9&keywords=yorkie+tea

You could get her some American snacks that people serve with tea like cookies and that sort of thing. I don't have any suggestions of what kinds of cookies or American snacks unrelated to tea?

u/yeahyeahsuresuree · 3 pointsr/LosAngeles

I would just buy on Amazon! Here's taro c honeydew , and coconut !

It's a little harder to find these mixes in store. My family used to own a boba place and we used to buy some of the powdered mixes online from a distributer (can't remember which one though). To get the flavored iced green/black teas, you'd just need to add the mango, peach or passionfruit syrups that you can find on Amazon too.

Oops--I skipped over your note about the bulky sizes. My bad.

u/ketoccino · 3 pointsr/keto

I've been sick for the past 8 days, and had a sore throat for the first 5 or so.

I've been 100% keto throughout the holidays, and didn't want a stupid cold to knock me out of ketosis. So I've been drinking hot toddys, and they are a game changer.

You can put just about anything you want in them. But I have a Holiday Spice tea. (Or, I've also combined a tea bag of Holiday Spice with a tea bag of Throat Coat, and I liked that combination even better). While the tea is steeping, I simmer some sugar substitute with fresh ginger, lemon juice, orange peel, peppermint extract, and a cinnamon stick. I strain the sugar to remove the solids, and combine it with the tea. Then add a nice shot of whiskey.

I've never had anything help with a sore throat so much! I've read that the alcohol actually kills bacteria in the back of your throat. Don't know if that's true, but I would take one sip of the toddy and my sore throat would be just gone for the next 5-10 minutes. I wish I had known about hot toddys before I started keto, because I would've used them back then too.

Hope you feel better real soon!

u/-katekiko · 3 pointsr/AsianBeauty

I second everything else said in response to this but I also want to mention that I have heard this tea is really helpful for all things hormonal, including acne! I haven't had a chance to try it myself yet so YMMV but my friend said it helped her a ton with her cramps and chin acne, and it seems like the reviews say similar things. Best of luck :)

u/keakealani · 3 pointsr/singing

Amazon? I'd also bet on your local health food/specialty store, or maybe even some places that sell natural remedies and supplements and that sort of stuff. You may also find it in either the health food or tea section of your local grocery store.

u/ex_oh_ex_oh · 3 pointsr/pics

apparently, Amazon.

I've hear a lot of these are fake though..seems to also be black tea so I'm not sure if it's Pu er black tea or western black tea..

u/tubbydammer · 2 pointsr/tea

For British style tea, buy a box of PG Tips or Tetley tea bags. Pour boiling water over a tea bag into a mug. Add milk, not creamer.

Of course, this is only better than what you do now if you prefer it.

u/Teavangelion · 2 pointsr/tea

Not quite the same, but Disney makes some Wonderland-themed tea that has a blueberry flavor in it. I admit I was a tiny bit skeptical, but the teas were all delicious.

u/Cukimonster · 2 pointsr/Wishlist

You know, I don’t know why I never thought to get one before. I have been making hot tea a lot because we ended up buying some local honey recently, and it’s amazing. The lady who sold it said her farm has a lot of peaches, and I swear this is the best tasting honey I’ve ever had. I ordered this tea to make with it, and I add a little heavy cream.

Right now I have just been boiling water in a pot to make it. So this would absolutely get used. Thanks for the contest!

u/iChikori · 2 pointsr/ketorecipes

For my thai tea I use this https://www.amazon.com/Thai-Iced-Traditional-Restaurant-Style/dp/B00NJS4S6C/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1495113730&sr=1-1&keywords=thai+tea

No need for the evaporated milk, I just brew then pour over ice. Top with HWC and a liquid sugar free sweetener. One cup will come out to be 4.5 grams of net carb. Could be less depending on how much tea you brew. :) In my opinion this tea taste much better than black tea.

Had similar pain after laparoscopy. My surgeon said the cyst they removed was on the back of my ovary. It seemed like anything I ate made the inflammation worse. Here’s what worked for me:

  1. Chaste tree berry pills every day +
  2. CBD oil (like a 5:1 CBD THC ratio, if you live in a state where it’s legal) +
  3. Avoiding inflammatory foods (dairy, gluten, alcohol, soy, whatever makes the pain worse) +
  4. Embracing anti-inflammatory foods, like salmon and coconut oil.
  5. Hot yoga 1-2x a week to stretch out any scar tissue
  6. Yogi Tea - Woman’s Moon Cycle
    https://www.amazon.com/Yogi-Tea-Womans-Supports-Healthy/dp/B0009F3QLQ
  7. Avoiding hummus/chickpeas seemed to help but idk if that’s just me

    Other things to try:
  8. Progesterone-only (no estrogen) birth control pills - worked for me relatively quickly but made me feel weird after a few months. I would try again if needed. I don’t think you can take them AND chaste tree berry at the same time, since they both act on your hormones.
  9. Definitely call the surgeon and make sure they know about the pain

**when healing, my body was REALLY sensitive to certain foods. I slowly brought back some gluten (sourdough bread mostly) and occasionally cheese... but I can tell the dairy causes inflammation. Also brought back alcohol but, when I drink too much, I feel slight pain on my right back side creep back until I take or rub CBD oil in that spot.

u/gamgeestar · 2 pointsr/Cooking

I add this tea mixture to water (1 cup of tea mixture to 4 cups of water, plus 3/4 cup sugar if you like it sweeter) in a French press. Let it steep for 30-60 minutes (the longer you let it steep, the stronger the flavor). I "press" out the tea leaves, then put the mixture in the fridge to let it cool. Add half & half (or basically any kind of milk you want--coconut milk is also good) until it's the color you want. Delicious and saves me lots of money to make it at home!

u/MrsTruce · 2 pointsr/indianapolis

FYI, this is the brand that a lot of restaurants use, and then add evaporated milk. Be sure to get a "tea sock" or you'll end up with leaves in your finished tea, no matter how many times you strain it.

A bunch of these tea samplers are sold on Amazon and eBay. As for the price, it looks reasonable, I got a hot cocoa sampler awhile back that was already $21+ Hope this helps.

As for DL, I don't remember it ever closing at 8pm in March, mostly 9pm. DCA on the other hand mostly closes at 8pm.

Would this be different with different coffees, perhaps? Certainly here in the UK we have different blends of tea marketed as being for different water areas to some extent - see e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Yorkshire-Tea-Hard-Water-Bags/dp/B007EDY142 or https://www.amazon.co.uk/Yorkshire-Tea-Traditional-1200-Bags/dp/B004QPHXL4 (for instance)

I had such a cuter post before, but for some reason mobile isn't always posting my comments. I hope you have fun on my wish lists, I think you will find some things you like!

u/the_skyis_falling · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon
  1. Something Grey. Manatees love tea too.

  2. Something reminiscent of rain. I have have a 6 hour thunderstorm on my iPod that I listen too almost every night to help me relax and go to sleep. But, my pillow finally gave up the ghost, so I use ear buds...not as comfy.

  3. Food related, yet unusual. May seem tame to most, but my brain can't wrap around how these will/would taste.

  4. On my list for someone else. Slightly NSFW! For my wife who has sensitive...well, you'll understand when you look at the link. She needs this stuff to be more comfortable. I only have to look at them funny and it's too much for her.

  5. A book you should read. The Red Tent, is a book based on the fictional life of Dinah from the old Testament. She is is mentioned only once I think in the bible, but the author of this book weaves a life story based on how women where treated and lived back then. Dinah lives in a harsh world but learns from the women around her and see the workings of this mysterious entity called God in her world. It is a wonderful read and having to tell you about it reminded me I want it again to reread. Really a great book.

  6. Item that is less than a dollar. This awesome awesome fantastic song!

  7. Something for my kitty Cassie May. I've always wanted one of these for my kitty and this was the perfect opportunity to finally add it to my WL.

  8. Something that is not useful, but so beautiful I must have it. Isn't it a beautiful ring?

  9. A movie everyone should watch once in their life. Because it is so imaginative and awesomely made with the puppets and sets. And David Freaking Bowie and his cod piece and hair are sexy yet so evil. ....you remind me of the babe

  10. Something that would be useful when the zombies attack. Keep my shankin' knives sharp yo!

  11. Something that would have a profound impact on my life and help me to achieve my current goals. Currently I have no real space to do my painting and in a month and a half I'm moving and will have even less space to myself and my painting. This would enable me to paint at any table. For without being able to take a breather and paint, I can not be myself and have those moments to detach and relax so I can later go out and be the best adult I can be.

  12. Pesky add-on. To make your hair o'so happy.

  13. The most expensive thing on my list. My phone is currently my only camera. I've always dreamed of owning a "professional" camera to go take pictures of all the things!

  14. Something bigger than a bread box. Vroom Vroom

  15. Something smaller than a golf ball. Tee Tiny!

  16. Something that smells wonderful. Romance by Ralph Lauren. Has been my go to perfume since highschool.

  17. SFW Toy. She's evil but she's suitable for any setting!

  18. Something that would be helpful for going back to school. Everyone needs to look stylish and stay cool for school!

  19. Something related to my current obsession. I've become crazy about all things tea!

  20. Something SO AMAZING! BEHOLD the splendor It's adorable, handmade, and I have seriously become so enamored with it! Thought you might like to see it's awesomeness.

Fear cuts deeper than swords

OOH I LOVE SCAVENGER HUNTS. Placeholder. I'm working on this. Goodbye sunday night productivity.

EDIT Aug 11, 11:44pm PST

1.) something that is gray.

2.) Something reminiscent of rain. It rains so much in my city and on those days I like to have my tea and soup and all the yummy hot homecooked food at school in the library while I study. I already have a great thermos for my tea and hot cocoa but not for my soups/food.

3.) Something food related that is unusual. I don't know if this is necessarily food related but WOOOO TEA. MANA-TEA. Seriously this is awesome.

4.) Something on your list that is for someone other than yourself. A wii for my mom because she has been wanting a wii or ipad for a long time. My bro and i think the wii would be better because at least we could all play it together when we go home to visit.

5.) I will recommend this book to anyone and everyone. It's the book I just finished reading and I feel like it has helped me a lot. I am so much more motivated and driven and it is helping me make some tough choices in my life. I am a senior in college but this book can help anyone who is at any place in their life I think. I currently have this on my wishlist which is like a supplement to the book. Seriously though, read it, share it with everyone you know. Let's make the world a happier place.

6.) An item that is less than a dollar. Awww yeee. They always seem to have one of these on the coffee table at my brother's house. Wherever he lives. Even though it's never his. But yeah, they're cool but I don't actually want one.

7.) Something related to cats. THIS IS SO AWESOME. I have another mug with the disappearing thing on my wishlist too. But yeah, I love cats, I just don't have much cat stuff on my wishlist. I do need a real cat though... hint hint nudge nudge

EDIT Aug 12, 12:15am PST

8.) Something that is not useful, but so beautiful you must have it. Okay it's not Amazon but it is beautiful and I have had my eye on it for a year. Despite that fact that I do not plan on having children for at least 8 years. Dem hormones are a'ragin.

9.) I know it's not REALLY a movie but... A movie everyone should watch at least once in their life. Why? Because it is so beautiful and awe inspiring. It really brings me a sense of peace every time I watch it.

10.) Something that would be useful when the zombies attack. Explain. I can put on my holy strainer hat and pray to The Flying Spaghetti Monster to save me from the zombies.

11.) Something that would have a profound impact on your life and help you to achieve your current goals. I know I used this for another one but really, I think doing these exercises would help me in all areas of life.

12.) One of those pesky Add-On items. These beauties, even though I doubt I can grow them without a yard...

13.) The most expensive thing on your list. Your dream item. Why? My little acer hand me down freezes a lot, can't do multiple things at once, doesn't have a cd drive, has a screen too tiny to edit photos or edit my website. Basically everything is frustrating. And I'm a college student. So I use the computer for basically everything... and everything the little laptop CAN do takes forever.

EDIT Aug 12, 1:51am PST

14.) Something bigger than a bread box. If you don't think that is big enough, then here, but it's newly added.

15.) Something smaller than a golf ball. Well, I'm pretty sure this is smaller than a golf ball. If it wasn't, I'd be disappointed.

16.) Something that smells wonderful. Mmm imagine the ginger lemon grass!

17.) A (SFW) toy. And here's another one because I couldn't decide which one looks more fun...

18.) Something that would be helpful for going back to school.

19.) Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be. Currently obsessed with learning all kinds of new jewelry techniques! Also obsessed with tea because it's the one thing my boyfriend and I developed an interest in together. It didn't start out as either of our interests.

20.) Something that is just so amazing and awe-inspiring that I simply must see it. Explain why it is so grand. THIS IS SO PRETTY AND USEFUL AT THE SAME TIME. Seriously so cute, has lovely details, 8gb, and you can wear it as a pendant. Whaaaat!

EDIT: this lovely is made in oregon!

u/Hot--Beef--Injection · 2 pointsr/kratom

So ive found my way because I could never convince my friends to throw a heaping spoon of powder in their mouth and painfully wash it down with some liquid to achieve a feel-good state (They would think ive lost it) and I didnt want to kratom all by myself. The best tasting most classy way to take kratom is.......

Smoothie it my friend. Get yourself a nice little easy to clean blender, and obtain some frozen fruit to keep on storage. Throw a handful of maybe blue berries and pineapples in, add some milk and a bit of ice cream (Honey to be healthier and more convenient, shit dont go bad or melt) add your kratom dose and blend that bitch!!! For some added antioxidants or energy boost (As well as yummy flavor) Add yourself a teaspoon or two of matcha green tea!! IT works so well with the kratom (that you can hardly taste) Throw any extracts you wish in there as well. Blue lotus? Fuck it. Kava? Fuck it. THC? Fuck it. Throw em! Got some veggies like kale? Fuck it, throw em in!!!

For the matcha
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001T5GHUM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The more kratom you use the bigger you should make the smoothie. Cons about this is the kratom does add a bit o a weird texture, as if there are fruit peels. But its so easy to ignore. If my snob ass friends could enjoy it you for sure can too. And also cleaning up sucks of course. Your blender will make the cleaning easier or harder or you. Luckilly, I got one of those bullet blender that dont have a lot of nooks and crannies. In the end, its worth it. Im making kratom margaritas next, cause fuck it.

Also if you never had taro look it into, shit makes good ass smoothies. Reminds me of hazelnut at times just not as robust

Kratom and coffee could pair, but im not sure.

Hello, fellow Yorkshire Tea drinker!

I've found that most expat shops do stock Yorkshire tea, but all of them at truly exorbitant prices (usually more expensive than ordering from the UK or getting friends to send it over).

If you're determined, I recommend this bag from Amazon: 3kg / 1200 teabags for £25. Total including delivery came to £25.50, which means it's cheaper per bag than in Tesco.

The teabags are the same as normal, but be aware than 1200 is more than you think: plan on somewhere to store them, preferably airtight, for the year it'll take you to drink them all!

Good luck!

Are you insisting on Red Bull? I recently started drinking 4c energy, which is a powder that you mix with water (It's cheap with many of the same ingredients). My work keeps free bottles of water for us in the fridge so that comes easy.

I had the same question as you and could not find any cheap energy drinks unfortunately. I'm curious to see if anyone else has answers.

Welcome to America, a land where you can choose whatever you want in the store as well as grow practically any food source in your back yard.

That sucks you don't like sucralose, it along with aspartame has helped millions of diabetic people able to taste something sweet on a regular basis without messing with their blood sugar. Aspartame is the most medically tested food chemical on the planet and has no side effects (except for diarrhea, upset stomach, and some other problems when ingested in extreme quantities - you'd have to be on an intravenous line of that stuff to get such a dosage.

Look, I'm not a huge fan of sucralose either, but to get sick off of it I'd have to completely replace my sugar intake with the stuff.

The reason we have large corporations providing food-stuffs for so many people is because there's money in it and they do a good job at it. People wouldn't buy stuff if it was toxic, heck, I stay away from brands if I didn't like the way I felt after eating it. The fact is food is full of chemicals, chemicals that are extremely awesome. Chemicals are everywhere, in fact I'd dare to say everything is a chemical, if a food says it's chemical free, it'd be lying since it has a chemical makeup, heck water is dihydrogen monoxide, salt is sodium chloride, baking soda is something something carbonate (sodium bicarbonate, ah I'm too tired to think about it).

It's not a perfect world, but if you live in America, you live in a country where you have a gazillion options, you can shop at trader joes, walmart, aldi, kroger, etc. There are tons of people who want to sell you exactly what you want at a quality and price that is absolutely incredible. That's why trader joes exists, without corporations, how would you get foodstuffs that you preferred, you'd only have limited options from "government sources".

Believe me, I've been to China, the food is cheap and it's mostly grown in peoples back yard, but when you're driving along and people are burning batteries next to their "farm" it makes you a bit weary about where your food is coming from.

The only suggestion I have is to avoid anything "diet" since it has artificial sweetener, and get yourself some delicious tea, try this: http://www.amazon.com/Davidsons-Tea-Gunpowder-Green-1-Pound/dp/B000SATIFA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405136542&sr=8-1&keywords=gunpowder+green I'm still going through my Chinese tea, but I hear this stuff is pretty good, plus they're "organic" which means the chinese tea farm "claims" they are. Ha-ha. It's still delicious regardless, just rinse off the tea with a bit of cold water right before you steep it.

Oh and if you're looking for tea that is extremely good for you, but tastes really weird, check out this: http://www.amazon.com/Cruz-Malta-Kilo-Yerba-Mate/dp/B001UO90BA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1405136831&sr=8-3&keywords=yerba+mate it has a strangely sweet taste, like a grainy sweet taste. It's apparently good for the skin and what-not. I'm not a fan of it, but it is super good for you. (Cleared up some foot fungus and skin condition for someone I know. They tried all sorts of organic cures, but this was the only one that worked)

So chill a bit and relax. Why not head over to a random store and pick up some nectarines, I bought 7 for $1.50 at Aldi, I'm sure they're probably GMO, but they are insanely delicious, crisp, affordable, and guaranteed safe to eat, otherwise the company would get sued to oblivion.

Edit: Sorry for the long writeup, but I'm a bit tired at the moment.

Yorkshire Tea. It is the BEST.

u/Tommy_Taylor_Lives · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

What makes me happy is sitting down with a cup of tea and a good book, even better if there's music playing. Actually, the more I think about it, its not so much the reading that makes me happy, but that environment.

I've been getting into this ancient game Go. The idea of sitting down with some tea and music to play a game of Go sounds just as relaxing.

I just moved to a new town. I don't know anyone and have been spending everyday looking for work. When I had free time I decided to go to this café right downtown. I brought my Go board (Goban) with me. Go is a game that needs too players, so right after buying a nice cup of tea, I set up the board and opened the app on my tablet. Interestingly, we have yet to build a program that can beat the pros at Go. Fortunately for me, this isn't a problem( :/ ). So I start the Go app and start setting out the pieces(stones) out on the real board with every move I make and rhe computer makes.

Unfortunately I lost, but it accomplished my goal. Someone else spotted me playing and asked to play. We played our game till they had to go. We called it a draw, and thank god because I was losing so bad. But while we were playing he said, "not to make any assumption on your gender or sexual identity, but guerilla gay bar is tomorrow night and you should come." To clarify, GGB is a monthly event where a local bar hosts a night for the GLBT+ community to hang out.

I went and met a lot more people, so now I don't feel so alone.

For you because everyone needs one for this.

I hope you start to feel better, and I picked a sampler of teas for you because sometime folks don't know what tea they like. Cheers

Edit: I spell gud

u/MsZombiePuncher · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Oh I got this!

  • Harney and Sons has tons of Loose Leaf Tea on Amazon. Personally I suggest the Paris and the Hot Cinnamon Spice. Alternatively they have a sampler. Harney and Sons makes really excellent tea.
  • Tea Forte also has a sampler, but honestly it's not as cost effect, but it'd be great for trying different types.
  • You can also buy some Twinings Loose Leaf tea on Amazon. My personal favorites are Lady Earl Grey, and the Darjeeling.

(Note, all of these will last you a good bit, especially if you get more than one)

Also, I know this is a Amazon heavy site, but I also want to suggest Adagio. They have A LOT of tea for really good prices, and you can actually get samplers of any tea for really cheap. I love just get a boatload of samplers. Each sampler contains around 10 cups of tea so that's also a great deal in itself. They have an entire page of sampler collections. I specifically want to suggest the Chai Tea Sampler, the Herbal tea Orchard Sampler, the Oolong Tea Orchard Sampler and the Green Tea Sampler. You also can't go wrong with just going around the site and picking and choosing, although you do save a few bucks with a sampler pack. They also like to just throw samples at you while you're checking out.

If you find you want to get something on Adagio, I have a 5 dollar off coupon I can give you.

Right now I have this assortment of teas, and a box of Stash earl grey. I really need more tea, and am considering trying a green tea powder but am completely lost on how to find a good one.

I usually take it hot and sweet (approx. 2 lumps/teaspoons of sugar), but if the weather is super hot and I am not too lazy to go downstairs for ice, I will make iced tea.

I use this Matcha, which is somewhat better than culinary but still really inexpensive (and definitely not ceremony grade). I love it, I've ordered it three times, and have never had any problem with bitterness. It's not quite as sweet as ceremony grade, but it's not bitter. I think that if you get decent stuff, you won't have much trouble, especially cold (which is how I usually use it as well).

I don't drink alcohol, so for the tea teetotalers, I offer Fruity Iced Tea...
Sun Brew Iced Tea (this is key. please don't boil water)
-------------------------------------------------

  • One gallon of water in a glass pitcher
  • 6 PG Tips tea bags
  • Let sit in full sun for 6-8 hours
  • Take pitcher inside and discard tea bags. Tea will become bitter if you leave bags it in for too long.
  • Fresh fruit. I love strawberries, raspberries, watermelon. I limit citrus but a nice [blood orange] (https://g.co/kgs/VyVQVL) is fantastic.
  • Mash the fruit up in a medium bowl. If you have a blender or food processor, pulse it to a coarse consistency.
  • Pour in the sun tea and let it steep for 12-24 hours.
  • strain the fruit and enjoy the tea.

Iced tea is my go-to and being summer in Boston area, farmers markets have fantastic fresh fruit.

Number: 254. The lowest number to not have its own page on Wikipedia.

You should order This you get 40 different kinds of tea in it from Stash. I've found lots of teas that I like that way, and the price is quite good. They also have a Bigelow version. I'm going to order that next to try it out. There is also one that is a variety of different brands but I don't recommend that one. I ended up with a lot that were just plain green teas from different companies. It's a really good way to find new teas you might enjoy. :)

Great snack that can replace cravings for smoothies, shakes, icees, slurpees. I avoid boba shops because they are inconsistent, cost too much, and don't display calorie content (or contain too many calories).

Buy thai tea mix and a tea pot. The tea only takes a few minutes to make but should sit in freezer or fridge for 30~ minutes to cool before adding ice and drinking. Other teas work too. Most teas are 0 calories. I freeze some tea into icecube tray so that I don't have to wait for tea to cool as long. You can also make a big batch of tea and save in fridge if you want.

Boba can be made by hand or boiled from hard (30-60 minutes) or boiled from soft (5 minutes). It is about 80 calories for 1/4 cup.

I use artificial sweeteners and artificial creamers to make the tea sweet and creamy without adding many calories. Make sure to soak the boba in hot sugar water to get them nice and sweet before adding them to your (less sweet) tea. I usually use nut pods or some sort of creamer that has some calories, adding 50-120 more calories to the boba, but you can stick to zero calorie creamers if you want. I hear Stevia is the healthiest zero calorie sweetener, by the way.

Because you want your tea to cool and your hard boba to boil it takes 30 minutes to make but you aren't in the kitchen the whole time. When I get a craving I will start the boba tea and during the 30 minutes I wait. Most of my food cravings pass easily during this time as I know I am about to drink boba. I find it to be very filling by the time I am able to drink it. I find that this is something of a strategy in itself... Having to wait 30 minutes for my snack helps the cravings pass and the snack feels more filling.

I don't know about the same effect, but this (http://www.amazon.com/Cruz-Malta-Kilo-Yerba-Mate/dp/B001UO90BA/ref=sr_1_33?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1422202348&sr=1-33&keywords=yerba+mate) gave me some crazy energy when I brewed it like coffee. I just treated as if it was regular auto-drip ground coffee. The energy "jump" took a while to kick in but once it did, it was very noticeable and lasted a long time. You need to drink it early in the morning (8 am?) so that you get a boost around 10am. But that boost lasts all day long. I eventually had to stop drinking it because I read that prolonged drinking of mate tea might be related to esophageal cancer, and I didn't want to chance it. But you should try it at least once. They drink it all the time in Argentina.

I thought long and hard about this for a few hours, so this is my well-thought out decision.

I want to nominate /u/salziger because she's just the most incredibly kind hearted, helpful person! She's paying it forward every day of her life! She just embodies the spirit of RAOA for me. She acts as a foster-mom to cats and kittens who would otherwise be put-down at shelters! And she spends tons of her own money on super expensive surgeries for kittens even though the shelter tells her to put them down. She believes they all have a chance to live and be happy and loved! I just think she's amazing!

And I think she should have [these] (http://www.amazon.com/Tea-Forte-Single-Steeps-Herbal/dp/B004XN8RWI/ref=wl_it_dp_v_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=G3URUKOC28JJ&coliid=I36ZDDNQSFXMO2) because she's always asking for things for her rescue and foster cats and never asking for things for herself. And she deserves to spoil herself sometimes instead of always putting other people, and kitties, before herself <3

Last time I had a cough, I found two things that worked wonders for me. Thoat Coat tea, and letting a piece of chocolate melt on my tongue as I fell asleep at night. At some point your cough becomes sort of a spasm, rather than a productive necessity, and the chocolate kind of soothes it long enough for me to fall asleep. Feel better!

u/legendary_ironwood · 1 pointr/tea

I think you missed my point.

> empty bag of tea = $$

> empty bag of tea + tea = $$$

You'd think that empty bags would be dirt cheap, or at least cheaper than an already full bag. Thus, if a full bag of tea can cost you about 8 cents.

For example,

this set of 110 empty bags sells for 5 cents a bag.

this tea is $29.99 for 480 bags of tea, or 6.24 cents/bag.

and this tea is $10.01 for 310 bags or 3.22 cents per bag.

in conclusion - why are empty bags so comparatively expensive?

u/FrankiePoops · 1 pointr/EatCheapAndHealthy

Weird, I'll just repost:

I use this mix and start from this base amount and double/triple/quadruple the amount for larger batches:

  • 4 cups water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup tea mix
  • Half & half

Boil water, add sugar and tea mix. Let it boil for 3-5 mins then turn off the stove and steep for 30 mins. Strain and store. I do 8oz tea + ice + 2-4 tablespoons of half & half per serving, depending on preference.

I used a regular strainer but there's a finer amount of stuff that pass through so I strain it again using a finer strainer. They sell thai tea strainers on amazon if you prefer that.
