The replacement heads are relatively cheap. It's cheaper to replace a warn out head than the whole toothbrush. And it's frugal to spend a little more on a better toothbrush to avoid dental bills. Oral B is only $40 on Amazon I've had mine for years
Nah man/woman I promise you, as someone who is almost self conscious about how casual he is with his dental care, spend the $30-40 to buy one of the Philips that has the 2 minute timer and pressure sensor to tell you when you brush too hard.
Life. Changing. The first time it feels like you just stood there brushing for ten minutes but ooooh boy run that little mouth muscle over dem bones and you'll want to kiss yourself in the mirror. There is literally no feeling of left over plaque. Especially behind the teeth. Love it, man. I told myself Id never get one till like 3-4 months ago and Im disappointed I let my teeth get to the point they are now when Ive had some serious pretty pearls prior with zero cavaties and strong enamel. A habit of brushing what could only average to 4 times a week at the peak, and brushing fast and hard to just get it over with (heavy hand wears down enamel faster) ended my shiny teeth and me quick. Yikes.

Girlfriend has this one and its just as nice as my Philips 5100. Little cheaper, too. Heads are cheap, too! Take care of the one outward bone bois pls, they cannot care for themselves. Theyre like little gold dubloons in your head. I hope you take heed. Godspeed
Not really OP is underestimating you are overestimating.
The $24 Philips Sonicare Essence is a great toothbrush (4/5 stars with 8,137 reviews) but it is an older version so its very bulky.
The $50 Oral-B Black Pro 1000 is the newer style that is slim works great (4.5 stars with 4,322 reviews) and can accept any style of Oral B head including the plaque bristle ones.
The expensive ones just add built in timers, More LEDs, a sexier stand and some are bluetooth capable and sync with your phone (which i guess is nice if you got kids and want to verify they are brushing)
I bought this one for $40. They have much more expensive versions, but this works well.
Okay, you know those makeup removal wipes that look like baby wipes? You're a boy so you probably don't, but you need to familiarize yourself as fuck, yo.
Because those motherfuckers will make your junk smell like cucumber melon magic and clean any grode off your chode if you don't have time to catch a shower before or after. They're safe for mucous membranes (around eyes, lips, pits, glans and vulvas) and leave no residue. They're cheap and you can toss them right in the trash -don't flush them.
So! My advice to all ladies and gents who have quickies, hookups, or overnight guests is to buy some makeup removal wipe packs and keep them somewhere visible for you and your conquest guests.
Everyone who's had a quickie knows the pain of leaving sticky, and some of [these] (https://www.amazon.com/Epielle-Cucumber-Cleansing-Tissues-Pre-moistened/dp/B00BR8QPMG) will clean traces off your faces and places.
[Wisp single-use toofbrushes] (https://www.amazon.com/Colgate-Disposable-Travel-Toothbrush-Peppermint/dp/B00HXAIN90/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1505620912&sr=8-1&keywords=wisps+toothbrushes). Cheap lifesavers for all occasions.
Pack an extra outfit, a clean one that fits. Toss a dryer sheet with your favorite scent sprayed on in the bag with it in your car or gym bag. If you use it, wash and replace it.
Wet and fix your hair. Yes, it probably looks bad.
Also, samplers of high-end perfume or cologne can make you smell put-together even if you're a nasty freak who just [blank] with a [blank] in a [blank] while a gang member watched and the accountant [blanked] all over your [blank.]
I know you're just joking, but these kinds of things are so useful for road trips.

My favorite international flight outfit is a loose tee-shirt dress (which I belt, but I take the belt off once I'm trying to get comfy), a long cardigan, leggings, and slip-on shoes. I'll keep some socks in my bag, along with my glasses so I can take out my contacts and really sleep. And these disposable toothbrushes are AWESOME for making you feel like a human again; you don't need water, and you don't even need to spit. These deodorant wipes are also amazing, almost as good as a shower. (You know. Relatively speaking.) Oh, and if you want to get really fancy, take a fresh pair of underwear that you can change into in the bathroom before customs. And dry shampoo! Aww yeah, brushed teeth, clean underarms, clean hair, and fresh underwear, you'll feel like a whole new person.
Edit: I spelled "underwear" wrong. You should totally trust me.
I purchased the Phillips Sonicare Essence last December for ~$30 and it works great!
I've had issues with plaque build-up but last check up my dentist said that I was doing great! The toothbrush is really fantastic--the timer, carrying case and wireless charger--really make it worthwhile especially at that price.
If you rinse your mouth, or drink water after drinking tea this helps.
Brushing is even better than rinsing.
Drinking tea faster, and rinsing or brushing sooner (rather than later) after drinking tea minimizes the time the tannins are exposed to the teeth and mitigates staining.
Drink green or white tea, like you said.
Use a peroxide based pre-brush whitening rinse if your dentist says it's OK for you to do so.
Use an Oral-B electric toothbrush like this one if your dentist agrees (https://www.amazon.com/1000-Rechargeable-Electric-Toothbrush-Powered/dp/B003UKM9CO?th=1)
Professional cleanings every six months . . .
I would say that's not the norm here. There are some people that will do this, but I'd consider it strange in the US to bring a toothbrush to work and brush your teeth there. I've known some that use these as an alternative.
Personally, I brush when I wake up, then at night before I go to bed. I may have a mint during the day to help convince myself my teeth aren't rotting.
My dentist said that any electric toothbrush is so much better than regular brushing that you don't need to spend any more than the minimum.
As long as it's got a basic timer to let you know when you're done and replaceable heads, you're gold.
This is what I've had for a few years now and I love it. You're teeth feel like you just left the dentist, and it telling me when I'm done stops me from being lazy about it.
Plus it's on sale right now.

I was reading some askreddit thread about dental hygienists recommendations and that one came up a lot.
The difference is not clinically significant. Evidence shows that both clean better on average than manual brushing, but they both work roughly the same.
Kind of stinks most people can't try em both, because they both feel different. FWIW, personally, the Sonicare's buzzing gives me a nails on chalkboard kind of feel while the Oral B is more of a physical rumble.. however, my fiancee prefers the opposite so YMMV. Tons of people go with either Sonicare or Oral B and in the end it doesn't matter.
[here is a quality oral b pro 1000 for $40 on amazon](https://www.amazon.com/1000-Rechargeable-Electric-Toothbrush-Braun/dp/B003UKM9CO/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1541814378&sr=8-

here is the most basic sonicare for $20 on amazon; my fiancee used to use it before I gave her mine, but it still worked fine for her.. just the heads are bulkier than the more expensive ones
Or get more expensive ones if you like things like quadrant timers, sensitive/low power settings, bluetooth capability (why?), etc.
Toothbrush (with integrated toothpick). An individual one of these weight less than a tenth of a gram.

FYI for anyone looking into these: I've had about 4 sonicares in the last 10 years. To me they're better than Oral-B or even Rotodent. Keep in mind they will all die eventually as the batteries only last so long. 4 years, maybe 5 is about the most you can expect. Some go bad in as little as 2 years, but Sonicare will send you a new handle if it's still under warranty which is usually 3 years.
That said spending over $100 on a Sonicare is just crazy. They're just a little bit nicer and all do basically the same thing. That $150 sonicare does the same thing and will die in a few years just like the $50 sonicare. I DO however recommend spending a little more for the newer slim style with the brush head that pushes on, not the old ass one from 10 years ago that screws on. It's much smaller and lighter and not nearly as much of a pain in the ass to keep clean.
Like this one:

I truly believe that if I had one of these a little earlier in life, I'd have never had any cavities whatsoever. For now it means my teeth always feel clean and I don't need to go to the dentist as often, and when I do, cleanings are pretty uneventful.
Colgate wisp.
Yes and no.
There are two ways to show a discount. One is against the "RRP", and the other is against a previous selling price. To show a 'discount' against the latter, the item has to have been on sale at the higher price for at least 28 days (plus some other minor conditions).
But what you don't have to show is that the item may have been cheaper than the sale price previously.
Take this electric toothbrush on Amazon. It's currently advertised at £29.98 - a 63% discount on an RRP of £80.
But look at the price history. Firstly, the most that said toothbrush has been sold on Amazon for is £69.99, not £80, and that was back in 2014. Secondly, it was actually cheaper than today's Black Friday price for a period in late 2016 to early 2017.
In other words, it's not a bargain in any sense of the word. It hasn't been worth anywhere near the RRP for four years.

My everyday carry includes a "Wisp" disposable toothbrush, for just this reason.
Oral-B used to make an even better version called "Brush-Ups" that were basically a little toothpaste-infused paper sleeve that you put over your finger and brushed with it. They packed flat - package was about the size and thickness of a business card. To my great sadness they stopped making them.

My hygiene improved drastically (gums and sensitivity) when I started using an electric toothbrush, despite good brushing habits. I would seriously consider buying the [Oral B Pro 1000](Oral-B Black Pro 1000 Power Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush Powered by Braun https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AKGRTUM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Mcp6BbS2X521S). It's currently $40 on Amazon, but often is available for $30 when a coupon is available.
One minute google search found this Aiwejay SONIC Electric Toothbrush, IPX7 Waterproof. Adult Powerful Rechargeable.Clean and Massage.White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GPPKH4P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_vFa3CbA5D2YRY
This is the whackiest idea but I swear to you it works. At least it works for me. I use the end of a vibrating toothbrush. I keep one of these in my swim bag for just this application.
I turn it one, press the end of it against the base of my ear and lean my head over. Ear unclogs in less than 10 seconds every single time.
Here's what I learned:
Other than that, go to the dentist and get a professional tooth cleaning once every year or two. It's relatively cheap and the only real way to keep plaque and dental calculus in check.
Great for on the go and at my desk for a quick “brush” but there aren’t many in a pack so I try to use no more than 1 of these per day. I got mine at Target but probably would get a better deal on Amazon.
Samples of these came in my “kit” from my ortho and I ordered a stock on amazon. I use these at nigh and use my waterpik in the morning.
I let my dentist and ortho know I use these (I prefer them to any other mouth guard I’ve tried) and they ok’d them with braces since they aren’t the heat & mold kind. I use them for a little longer than the box recommends (3 days) but toss them when they get gross.
I keep seeing people saying they can’t keep wax on. I love this wax (I got 2 kinds, no flavor and mint) because it’s perforated and easy to size out. Just roll in your fingers before applying otherwise it’s not going to stick. The mint is nice and fresh! I am using this a lot while my cheeks are getting used to poking metal but always remove before eating or brushing!
Do not use these too aggressively, you don’t want to damage your braces! But after a meal these have been a lifesaver for me. I gently (and hopefully discretely) get food unstuck. I got minty ones and keep a pack in jackets, backpack, car... I’m serious when I say lifesaver!
This is a bigger debate than getting wax to stick! My ortho did tell me that sugar free gum is allowed but not too much and don’t keep chewing it if it dissolves. Consult your ortho if you’re not sure. I was surprised to find that almost all gum is sugar free. Not all but most. I was searching all over for “SUGAR FREE” specifically and it was right at the register! I might get the 15 pack on Amazon though.
Honestly I don’t use these that often but once and a while it’s nice to clean every nook and cranny. I have to force myself to floss every day so this isn’t something I use often. They are more gentle than toothpicks but food gets caught in the tiny bristles and it turns into a mess. I picked up a small pack at Target.

There are cheaper brands, but not sure on the results.
TIL: I need this.
Edit: Its on amazon and has a coupon
It's fairly standard size but there is this
I use Wisps.
Sonicares are nice. 50$. Let the toothbrush do the work for you. Don't try to hammer the crap out of your teeth/gums.

Also be wary of the cheaper heads you can buy for these things (or any toothbrush in general). One reason why they can be cheaper is that the bristles arent as rounded(cheaper to produce) and this can do some damage to the gums.

I do, I bought this in May off of Amazon and it still works great.

I had severe halitosis for years. It was really, really bad.
After years of trying various products and techniques, and figuring out that many toothpastes and mouthwash products can actually make things worse, this is what worked for me:

Following that regime twice a day has completely solved my problem.
Keep a small stockpile of these in the car.
They aren't perfect, but they'll get the job started, at the very least.
Is this the one you wanted to buy? http://www.amazon.com/Philips-HX5610-30-Rechargeable-Frustration/dp/B007ZN5ATQ
It's still showing available for me on USA Amazon.
The only differences seem to be the color.
Having used sonicare brushes for years, I would stay away from the models you are looking at because of the brush head design. Especially if multiple people may use it, and change brush heads, that model needs to be unscrewed and gets all gunked up with moisture.
Also, the replacement screw on heads seem to be more expensive on Amazon.
If you can swing it, look in to a model with the smaller, pull off type brush head.

Electric toothbrush:

I like to use these or these. The breath strips (link 2) are by far the easiest, pop one into your mouth and go about your business. I personally am freakish about my oral hygiene so I usually use the brushes instead and just do it in my car or the restroom.
this waterpik water flosser would improve my life by making my teeth clean and healthy! also, I see you have waterpik heads on your wish list and I think if you don't already own a sonicate toothbrush you should get one because they are CRAZY AMAZING! yay clean teeth :)
Invest in an good toothbrush. I was so lazy when it comes to brushing and even when I brushed/flossed faithfully it took too long and I didn't see much benefit.
After reading a recommendation by others on reddit, I spent $25 dollars on an electric OralB toothbrush and it has done wonders with my teeth. Please brush at LEAST twice a day.
Bad breath can be attributed to a number of things. Just maintain good overall dental hygiene and remember to brush your tongue every so often.

If there you are still taking orders. I am willing to pay 1/2 the amount first.
That Sonicare uses e-series brush heads, which aren't as common anymore and are quite pricey, (anywhere from £8-£16 for a 2 pack of heads). I would advise going for the EasyClean, which is part of Philips newer range of brushes and uses a newer range of heads which are cheaper as they are more widely available (you can get a 12 pack of heads for £10.99). There are also four different types of brush heads you can get: ProResults, Sensitive, InterCare, DiamondClean.
I got the Oral B Pro 1000 from Amazon about a month ago. It has been the best toothbrush I have ever had. The reviews agree with me too.
https://www.amazon.com/1000-Rechargeable-Electric-Toothbrush-Powered/dp/B003UKM9CO
TOOTHBRUSH
This is the electric toothbrush I use and recommend: Sonicare Flex Care Plus. It is cheapest at Costco but comes in a pack of 2. It's important to replace the brush head every 3-4 months. Sonicare now has a subscription service to automatically send you a new brush head when it's time to replace, or you can buy the brush heads when you need them; they come out to approx $9 each on amazon but you can get 6 for $50 at Costco and they oftentimes have a $10 instant rebate. If you need to use a manual toothbrush, I recommend the Nimbus manual toothbrush. These Wisps are really handy when you can't brush after eating.
FLOSS
The floss I recommend is Dr. Tung's Smart Floss and you can use this Floss Holder to make it easier to use. (Amazon only sells the floss in packs of 3 or 6 so if you want to purchase a single pack you can find it at Whole Foods, Bristol Farms, or Sprouts.) A Waterpik can also be a great tool, this one is a Handheld Waterpik and is more convenient to use. You can use it in the shower and it takes up less counter space.
TOOTHPASTE/MOUTHWASH
This Crest Gum and Sensitivity paste is one of my favorites and I like Act Total Care mouthwash. When choosing a toothpaste or mouthwash, look for "sodium fluoride" as an active ingredient. It's best to stay away from mouthwashes with alcohol in them and whitening/charcoal pastes because the abrasives in them can damage the teeth. If you use a whitening rinse with hydrogen peroxide, only use it 2-3 times per week to avoid making the gum tissue sensitive. Other than that, whatever you prefer is just fine.
WHITENING
For an inexpensive whitening treatment Crest White Strips are a good option.
I really try to brush/floss after eating. Keeping these: https://www.amazon.com/Colgate-Wisp-Peppermint-16-Brushes/dp/B001TH8Y60, along with travel floss in my purse and/or go bag for places (airport bathrooms; grungy bars; or even my office if I don't have time to get to the ladies for a proper cleaning) I don't want to use a toothbrush has been helpful
I think I fall in line with most of the folks here. If I have the equipment and the time, I'll brush/floss, I've noticed I need to swoosh around a lot more after brushing. I'll swish and spit a few mouthfuls of water and make sure nothing everything that was dislodged is out of my mouth. If I'm on the run or out, I'll just rinse/toothpick/use one of these, and toss em back in. As many have suggested, if I'm out all day and don't get a good brush, I'll spend a little extra time cleaning the tray at night. Do do a full on brush/floss every time I eat is a bit excessive, but I will say I don't feel "right" until I have done a brush floss, for instance, I will likely never go to bed without brushing/flossing and making sure there's no chunks in/around the trays.
I like the Colgate Wisps.

Just make sure to be lazy with it, hold it on the surface you are cleaning and move to the next surface without scrubbing as this will damage your gums far more than a manual toothbrush.
Oral B CrossAction Battery Power Toothbrush https://www.amazon.in/dp/B018IE1XSM
You can blindly buy this. It's excellent for a beginner. I've been using this for the last 7 years or so and it still works fine. You can replace the heads as and when needed.
There are higher models by oral b too but they come with bells and whistles which you might look for when you are upgrading. I've got coupon codes for the pro 600 model if you are interested.
Wow, this is an awesome contest! This is very generous of you. :)
If I win, I'd really love this toothbrush. I've been dying for a great toothbrush that I only have to replace heads on. I like taking care of my teeth. <3

I'm going to piggyback on this comment, love Sonicare, but the Essence can get pretty gunked up in between the housing of the base and head the way it is designed. Replacement heads are more expensive than other models as well.
I would recommend the Easy Clean version which is slightly more for the initial investment, but replacement heads are more affordable and it stays much cleaner. You can also use the DiamondClean replacements on the Easy Clean as well, which are the heads that I prefer.

Just my two cents!
My thoughts were that the battery would be larger on the razor, but the difference in charge is massive so seems strange to me.
Good point about the toothbrush being stored on the charger, I don't have a power outlet in my bathroom, so I have to charge in the bedroom so only charge it when it's getting low. Also it was my understanding that if something is constantly on charge it affects the battery life over time. Maybe this isn't the case with newer devices.
I brush twice a day and my toothbrush is 18 months old, this is the one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Oral-B-PRO-2000-CrossAction-Rechargeable/dp/B00K2U5XFK/ref=sr_1_7_s_it?s=drugstore&ie=UTF8&qid=1520268119&sr=1-7&keywords=oral+b
They are making the claim that the process of cleaning is what the product improves upon. Your mouth isn't sterilized by chewing on bristles, and no one is being misled into believing that.
They are claiming that the product does the job of a toothbrush (and partially flossing), but quicker, and more effectively because of less work put in. This could be really helpful for people with special needs who use specialized brushes. This is a small company, with a product that completely reworks a ubiquitous one. They are currently studying it now, and have FDA approval for the materials being used.
I thought you were being facetious because it struck a nerve, but then I saw your comment history. Go figure. If you have any other questions, please direct them to the manufacturer. I don't have anything else for you. This seems like a product in the early stages of marketing, so try not to get too flustered over it.
1)a snow stake for a trowel weighs 1oz, and tp weighs just as little. pooping regularly enough to need to have them on you is priceless.
2)take one or two of these
and overall, you don't follow through with your premise, you're not proposing any real departure from standard UL practice. although i think everyone was assuming that not being a filthy beast was a given part of standard UL methodology.
It's similar to this: http://www.amazon.com/Oral-B-Professional-1000-Electric-Toothbrush/dp/B003UKM9CO
This one looks like a new, space-agey version of mine.
Also, They recommend that you replace the TB heads every month or so, I think. Those are pretty expensive. However, I bought a lot of them online from Germany for about $10.

For those interested, the Oral B 1000 is on sale for $20 after rebate on Amazon right now.
Well it bleaches the surface stains and you just follow the directions. its redo as you need it since it only helps if your teeth are stained. You should get an electric tooth brush if you dont have one. Believe me, it really does make a world of difference.

Black box is booster chair, one box is a peanut balance ball, the other box contains sensory brushes, stacking peg board set, and a stack and sort puzzle. Not sure what the other box is - might be the piggy bank and tactile dog house toy.
I am willing to bet that the slightly faster speed makes very little practical difference in the real world. Focus on good technique, frequency, and duration, angling the brush into the gumline. Getting a brush that guides you through a full two minutes of brushing may help with changing your habits, so a fancier model with a timer might be advisable. Here is a good choice, I think it is the same that I have, or have had. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002HWS9GG/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1418874814&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&dpPl=1&dpID=51pLORQVN8L&ref=plSrch
Also floss.
Here's what I have, it's only $20 on Amazon right now. I would definitely recommend checking it out!
I have the same problem.. with lots of things (though teeth brushing is the only personal care thing) and I COMPLETELY understand the
>I'm not scared of the treatment I know I will need, I'm ashamed of myself and him seeing how badly I've failed myself.
I sit here shaggy haired in need of a haircut.. but for some reason I feel embarrassed to go to the damn barber because it's been so long. Stupid, I know..
Anyway.. Oral care.. Here's what I've started doing. Get several packs of these Colgate Wisp things. I keep a pack in the car, a pack in my office, a pack at home.. just wherever. They're especially great in the car. I don't think they're better than brushing the usual way, but they're loads better than nothing. They leave your teeth squeaky clean and your breath fresh.
Here is my routine with items and products that work for me.
DAILY Morning:
DAILY Night:
WEEKLY Sat or Sun: (In addition to daily routines)
* Use separate tools for hands and feet to avoid spreading any potential fungus to your hands
BI-WEEKLY Sat or Sun:
I have a few resources that have specific guides, I will post them later. I hope this is somewhat helpful and if you have any questions, let me know.
Best advice I can offer other than oil pulling is to get an Electric toothbrush. THIS is what I have, and its amazing. Since buying it about 2 years ago I never have any dental problems and my dentist says my teeth are looking great. I was very hesitant to get one of these for a while but its one of the best decisions I've made.
My boyfriend will be sent to Afghanistan soon. Is a wifi signal easy to find or should we rely on netbook/laptops for webcaming? What's an unusual thing that the troops love to get in the mail? For example, I've heard that the troops love the Colgate wisps. Also, do they actively check all the stuff for porn? Will I need to encrypt it before sending it to him?
I keep these nearby always (next to bed, in the car, everywhere).
Wisdom. I do all of this, and my teeth feel the great. If you shop around you can get good deals:
Oral B electric Brush for $29: http://www.amazon.com/Professional-1000-Electric-Rechargeable-Toothbrush/dp/B003UKM9CO/ref=sr_1_2?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1324575162&sr=1-2
WaterPik for $49 (Deals are fairly well, but you can sometimes find $10 rebates): http://www.amazon.com/Waterpik-WP-100W-Ultra-Water-Flosser/dp/B000GLRREU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324575352&sr=8-1
Dunno how I never saw this - oral b. This is the one I have. It was less at Walmart, where I bought it. This is the one my fiance uses.
Yeah, they worked great for me. You just have to make sure you are consistant with them. Also, I wouldn't use more than a kit or two because they will end up removing the enamel from your teeth. As for electric toothbrushes, I got this one http://www.amazon.com/Oral-B-Professional-SmartSeries-Rechargeable-Toothbrush/dp/B002HWS9GG/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1310176547&sr=8-5 when amazon had a rebate which gave you 50 percent off the toothbrush. I think it may still be running if you're interested.
Is it this one? I got that one after reading this nice comparison review of various models.
I actually have the $40 model. It's awesome, but I'm not sure what the $150 dollar one does.
B) Every good superhero needs a specialized weapon. As a budding witch, I would like a sonic screwdriver to aid in my superhero-ish shenanigans. Did I mention this particular screwdriver has a super secret uv pen and uv light so I can write super secret messages to my super secret companions?! If that's not magic, I don't know what is!
To other guys out there, get an electric toothbrush today if you don't have one. This is what my dentist recommended if you don't want to spend a ton of money. Make sure to click the $5 coupon to bring the price down to $15.
Seriously, brush your fucking teeth.

Any Sonicare that is rechargeable (they had ones that ran on AA batteries for awhile, they're shit).
Other than that, even the cheap E series has all the features you need. It's what I and everyone in my family uses, no cavities all around.
Philips Sonicare Essence Sonic Rechargeable Toothbrush, White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QZ67ODE/
Buy replacement heads on coupon sales at Costco in the giant muktipacks.
Do not use generic replacement heads.
They are garbage and do not work.
Sonicare isn't expensive, especially if you factor in all the dental work you won't be paying for.
Walmart will sometimes have E series Sonicares for as low as $20 if money is really tight.
You could get some of those waterless disposable toothbrushes Colgate Max Fresh Wisp Disposable Mini Toothbrush, Peppermint - 24 Count (4 Pack) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071DPCBQG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ENDoDbGR3KFH6
There's these
thought this was fake. but shit is a real product. around 50 cents each. https://www.amazon.ca/Adult-Pre-Pasted-Disposable-Toothbrushes-pack/dp/B00AU4LNBG/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?adgrpid=61383520712&hvadid=310002726663&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=9061026&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t2&hvqmt=e&hvrand=14593378868619052290&hvtargid=kwd-301325889350&hydadcr=15090_10267816&keywords=disposable+toothbrushes&qid=1567531220&s=gateway&sr=8-7
I bought a bunch of those "travel disposable tooth brushes" for my office at work. Helps a bit after eating something that makes my mouth taste funky :D I think it kinda attributes to the nausea as well.

Mine is so old it doesn't want to hold a charge anymore.
Whether or not this is a reasonable request on her part is sort of a moot point, since it's obviously something she's not willing to budge on. If this is a deal breaker for you, that would be understandable, but it doesn't seem like it is. It's possible that she'll relax about this as time goes on, and that process will probably be quicker if you are accommodating--turning it into a fight will probably make her double down. If your primary concern is that you'd like to be able to kiss at restaurants, I would look into some disposable toothbrushes w/ toothpaste on them already. (https://www.amazon.com/Adult-Pre-Pasted-Disposable-Toothbrushes-pack/dp/B00AU4LNBG?th=1) Pop one in your pocket before you go out, brush right after the steak etc., then you can kiss on the rest of your date.

Personally, I used to have a similar rule with my gf, and got over it. The smell/taste of meat and dairy is pretty gross to me and I didn't want to start associating it with her kissing me! But over time as we got closer that seemed less and less likely. Best of luck to you two!
yup, this one

I use these disposable Oral B Pulsar toothbrushes. No upfront cost and they last about 3-4 months each for me. I get good results with them.
Disposable electric toothbrush (costs about the same as a disposable non-electric toothbrush): http://www.amazon.com/Oral-B-Pulsar-Medium-Bristle-Toothbrush/dp/B003CP12QG/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
I'm using an Oral B one (like this) and I've payed quite a lot for the replacement heads, buying in bulks you could say, and trying to find the right one, but none to my satisfaction. The battery life is very poor.
I didn't know UV is controversial. Was thinking of getting an ultra sound one, where you use a kind of a gel on your teeth and the actual brush has no bristles. I'm looking into the ones you named as well.
Mines just an off brand one I spent $10 on. I think the round head fits better and allows me to really focus on 1 tooth at a time. I've been looking into this one and I like the reviews though.
Oral-B Black Pro 1000 Power Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush Powered by Braun https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AKGRTUM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_VqgYDbGDGAQPB
I use these Disposable Travel Toothbrushes. Super light, I can get a few uses out of each one (if I bring a little toothpaste along as well). I rarely hike longer than a week, so if you're going the distance then I suppose a more traditional toothbrush would weigh less than having to bring more than a few of these.
https://www.amazon.com/Clipper-Mill-MQ1735-Sensory-Brushes/dp/B001U1UFYE
They're used to clean off surgery tables. I love getting brushed by them and I spent a lot of my childhood using them on the recommendation of my occupational therapist. They're plastic with stiff pointy bristles and it's really soothing. I used to have my mom run them down my back in long strokes.
[I found this :)](Oranurse 50ml Unflavoured Toothpaste https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0085AOSU0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_6UDwybNWES6N8) and [this](DenTrust 3-Sided Toothbrush :: Specialty Toothbrush for AUTISM & Special Needs :: Autistic ASD :: Made In USA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008C3UBD8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ZWDwybBQPKX40). If that's not what you are looking for there is a toothbrush they use at the dentist, I think oragel, and it's really soft. I personally like it and think it's a lot better than hard bristles.
Ha! I personally have given up on trying to grow a beard - For me it's currently an area I don't care about since it so easy to hide.
Some other ideas that might help:
Find a fiddle toy you like. For me personally I hate sticky feeling object so silly putty it terrible, and can make my trich actually worse. Soft fuzzy objects work the best for me.
https://www.amazon.com/Darice-10843-99-350-Pack-Chenille-Assorted/dp/B0054G6M20/ref=sr_1_25?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1481650406&sr=1-25&keywords=pipe+cleaners
I can't find a good photo, but the purple one in this photos that has a variable length are my favorite pipe cleaners. I fold the tip in to prevent it from poking me and often just wrap it and leave it around one of my fingers.
Posture! Seriously this is a huge one, but with studying it might be hard to execute, but since working on my posture at work I reduced my pulling at work by 90-95% Working on posture is one of the most effective methods against trich for males
https://www.amazon.com/Clippermill-MQ1735-Sensory-Brushes-Pack/dp/B001U1UFYE
Sensory Brushes are another one of my fidgets - The plus side of these is I can pull the little plastic brushes off.
You may want to look into NAC as well - It's not a miracle cure by any means but can help reduce urges around 10-40% I take around 1200-2400/mg a day
Anyhow good luck with finals - and hide / destroy the tweezers if you do have them.
Use an electric tooth brush. I found sores are caused by knocking/stabbing my gums with the hard plastic of a regular toothbrush and nothing to do with the actual bristles of the brush. An electric toothbrush doesn't involve jabbing and the friction of the head is unlikely to cause sores.
Since I've used one, I've not had a single sore.
In general, is sonicare in your opinion equals other electric toothbrushes? For example, how is this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Smartseries-Professional-Rechargeable-Electric-Toothbrush/dp/B002HWS9GG/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1341738229&sr=8-4&keywords=braun+electric+toothbrush
Hello and thank you for the contest! :)

Stay strong and as others indicated, try to find out the trigger for that and combat the trigger and not the response. Our kiddo does not do that but he will fall on the ground and cry. We sometimes use a surgical brush (http://www.amazon.com/Clippermill-Sensory-Brushes-6-Pack/dp/B001U1UFYE) and use that to rub his arms and legs which soothes him. Also we use Aveeno Daily Moisture lotion (lavender color) which also calms him.

This is the one I have.
Sorry I am not sure I can be overly helpful.
I am not sure what the difference is, but I am not a big fan of them. I have one of these and love the way my teeth feel after brushing, but I find the twist on part of the head and the overall design to be a bacterial breeding ground. I have found it very difficult to keep clean. I find this model to be a lot easier to keep from getting grimy: https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Sonicare-Rechargeable-Toothbrush-HX6211/dp/B00KZHP1GG/ref=sr_1_4_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1479622748&sr=1-4&keywords=sonicare&th=1

$4 for 16! that's amazing! I looked at those a while back and they were stupid expensive. Buying now!
It really depends on how strong of a vibrator you need. This works for us, and it's a little bit stronger than you'd expect.
If you need something with a big kick, you'll probably have to do a lot of searching though. Going to a toy store would be the best bet.
Here's something that might make you laugh...The only other thing that has worked for us during sex is This. We wrap a piece of tape around it, and the thing is stupidly powerful. The neck is small, and the body of it can rest on your stomach. The only down side is that it has a timer and cuts out every 30 seconds, then stops at 2 minutes. It really is annoyingly strong, and useless for its intended purpose.
This is similar.
> I've tried almost everything under the sun except a vibrator because I can't afford one.
around $5 if you're creative

Oral-B Pulsar
Thanks! I definitely wasn't doing 2 seconds each side, so that will help immensely.
Just a follow up with regards to brushes, which do you recommend? Looking at Amazon, Oral B has 7 brushes. I use the Precision Clean, but Dual Clean looks interesting as well as the Pro White. Even the Floss Action looks interesting. Is there a brush you recommend for daily use? Do you recommend multiple, say for example Precision daily and Pro White one day a week.
edit: Forgot the image, here.

[I really like using these over carrying a brush and toothpaste. They weigh basically nothing and you can bring exactly as many as you need] (https://www.amazon.com/Colgate-Fresh-Disposable-Toothbrush-Peppermint/dp/B071DPCBQG)
Edit: you can get single bags at most grocery stores for 6 or 7 bucks
