I just did a quick search and they actually have it on amazon. Here. It has free shipping if you have amazon prime. lol
These? Youtube channel RRCherryPie does loads of these. If you go to that channel, prepare to lose your afternoon.
I found pictures of the boxes by entering "ひようろくもち" into google.
and
I also found an amazon page for you by entering "buy ひようろくもち."
Hope this helps. Mochi's awesome.
EDIT
I found an English amazon selling them. You'll find them under "Seika Food Soldiers Mochi Tablets" edit just realized it was for ten boxes. That doesn't seem bad.
EDIT EDIT
Looking through the pictures they don't look like the mochi that I'm familiar with at all. They look more like caramels. What are they like?
If anyone is curious you can buy a similar type of candy at Amazon. Popin' Cookin' has many adorable types. I've placed an order for the Sushi kit myself. They also have pizza, ramen and a few other types.
Googling this, I think that the type in the video is the non-edible play food, still super neat though. Hope that helps.
Edit: I rewatched the video and looked at the box again. This is also candy. My bad.
Would strongly recommend this
This is probably my most embarassing thing
I have always wanted to make one...
You can buy them on Amazon for about 4 bucks. Shipping is free but most are sent from Japan so expect it to take at least 2-3 weeks. I recommend it though! They're fun!
Edit: English instructions
Oh - well, that right there is not a simple question! I mean all the chocolate is certainly satisfactory, but favorite...?? I wouldn't define myself as a chocolate connoisseur really because my preference isn't straight up chocolate. And puritan chocolate fans dig the fancy European stuff, which, meh - just ain't how I roll.
I would say these are up there thanks to my Jewish upbringing and love for enough Passover candy to make you throw up.
Also I love me some Andes Creme De Menthe Thins when I am feeling aristocratic.
Oh oh oh! AND... you know how when you get a box of old fashioned chocolate, you pick out your favs by taking a bite and then putting the yucky ones back?? Well the ones with caramel in the middle are my jam.
Aren't you glad you asked? 😉

Bought some a couple weeks back and they got in not too long ago, they taste fantastic! I like to keep mine in the fridge and then add whipped cream on top:) hope this helps!
One of my favorite recipes is known as hurricane popcorn.
You can easily make your own at home like this:
Pop your popcorn as you normally would (mircowave or stovetop).
Toss with a mix of melted butter, a little toasted sesame oil, and a little soy sauce.
Then add furikake (Japanese seasoning of crushed seaweed and sesame seeds), and [rice crackers] (http://www.amazon.com/Umeya-Hana-Rice-Crackers-Toasted/dp/B001AYDRTQ/).
Found them.

Edit: Holy cow, I dont know why but I cant stop watching these videos.
And a link to amazon for those wanting one: http://www.amazon.com/Popin-Cookin-Happy-Sushi-House/dp/B004N8LMFM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1369025388&sr=8-1&keywords=sushi+candy
Molecular Gastronomy is so fun! In this case, that candy is likely by Kracie and is part of their poppin cookin stuff. I don't know which particular kit it was, but can say that the sushi one is fun.
if this does not make you laugh, you are not human!
Birthday Shenanigans
To be specific they are called Mochitaro rice crackers.

here! enjoy!
I see those little kits all over and I've always wanted to try some! they're so stinking cute!
I think my favorite candy might be twixx but I'd be hesitant about trying to make it at home because I don't think it would taste the same.
I added this and this to my under five dollar list on amazon, they both have free shipping, they're so stinking CUTE!
Edit: just found this one too oh my goodness! x.x ~<3
I love food!
When I was a young'n my favorite snack was pickles covered in A1 sauce. Nom nom nom
Sweet Tooth!

Sweet contest.
My fun thing is this itty bitty edible fo' sushi kit. Totally weird, right? But it looks so fun XD
Ah, I see what you mean. That is still "も", just in a more stylised, calligraphy-esque font. Basically the も just has a long tail:) A bit like this (the one on the right).
Maybe you've checked this out already but according to the link you found (well done on that by the way!) it is a "Sogo Sweet Rice Cake" from Taiwan. Sogo is actually a Japanese department store, but they also have branches in other countries (including Taiwan). So I guess the product was manufactured by Sogo, but aimed at the Taiwan market (hence the mix of Japanese and Chinese elements in the packaging). Even the flavour itself is probably no accident as mango is a much more common flavour/ingredient in Taiwan than in Japan.
Finally I must say that all the reviews of this thing are very positive, and is making me want to try it:)) But sadly it seems like it's not available any more.. in case you do happen to find it for sale anywhere be sure to let me know:)
EDIT: Just found these on Amazon. Doesn't say "Ri-no-mochi" but if you look carefully there are many similar design elements - wonder if it's the same product, just had a makeover. Also listed as "currently unavailable", but a couple of people in the comments mention you can also get it at Costco. So might be worth having a look there!
I decided to choose someone who recently gifted, and she has this item that I don't know what it is. I found you /u/ZombieInATopHat.
My item.
I found the fruit flavored ones on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Japanese-Fruits-Daifuku-Mochi-Kyoshin/dp/B006ZH1SKS
I'm going to guess $45.00!
Item less than $10
Item less than $25
Item less than $50
...and I'm an idiot! I read the rules wrong. Here are two NEW items that you might like!
THIS
and THIS
It doesn't taste that great, but it is fun to do. I think most of it is grape flavored, not sure about the roe (probably some sort of fruit punch).

I'm into the Japanese food thing, and most of it does not use meat or milk. Try this and tell me what you think
nomalicious <- Raffle thingy
Sorry, couldn't find the exact one in the video...but this was the closest I found.
Ebay looks promising
Apparently amazon had it but it was sold out. They have another type, the bento. There is a ice creamy one here too.
Sounds like she would like things I like so I will give you a couple links to places I like gifts from haha.
Squishables
Sailor Moon on Etsy
Anime/video game Shirts and such on LookHuman

Jewelry inspired by something she likes
Good luck! I think a lot of girls appreciate the thought of something off a site like Etsy because the items are so unique. Type in one of her interests and something she wants/needs, like "Sailor Moon Blanket" and chances are you will find some super special item just for her. It is also nice to buy your significant other experiences rather than a physical object. Depending on how much you are looking to spend and how far in advance you are willing to plan, why not reserve tickets to a nearby con? What about a cute day trip to a little town she might like where you can let her pick out an item or you can buy a nice dinner or unique experience (boat ride? Etc.)
Have fun gift picking and enjoy! :)
This would make my little sister super happy :)
X-Ray and Vav

Thanks for the contest!
This is an old fashioned treat that my mom LOVES. It's called Halva... it's basically a paste made of sesame seeds.
How about some noms or maybe some PSG?
http://www.amazon.com/Deli-Fresh-Pistachio-Halva-approx/dp/B000LRFX0E thats the best i could find online, my pastor's wife makes it occasionally since they're trying a lot of Jewish recipies. I seems like it'd be easy to make though! You should dive in and try it!
Halvah (candy made from ground sesame seeds) was my saving grace backpacking the John Muir Trail this past summer. Contains a whopping 340 calories for only 1.75 oz and pack weight was a big issue as we went 11 days without resupply. Halvah was also easy to get down at higher altitudes that can affect appetite (I have trouble over 11,000 ft). I ate 3 every day and only lost 3 lb over the 3 weeks we took for the ~200 miles whereas my husband lost 10.
We relied on Mountain House for dinner on JMT but got tired of some including previous favorites. Variety is a good idea. Raw "baby" carrots keep for several days if it is not too hot. Regarding bacon - sounds wonderful unless you are in "bear country", it's too aromatic.
Num nums...sushi candy!
Here's a Japanese candy making kit! my son watches people use them on YouTube and this would be a super fun craft to do with him!
Num nums!
I really want some candy sushi. Here's a video
That one is original, but does everyone realize that you can buy Japanese kits that let you do this kind of thing yourself? These are toy kits that make edible candy that looks like teeny-tiny versions of various foods:

Best thing that happened to me today was just the day itself. I know how cheesy that sounds, but I went from unemployed for a year, to working a job that pays the bills. Today marks the end of my work week, which this week happened to be 42 hours.
If things keep going as they are, that means I'll be out of the hole in 2 months time. I'm exhausted and my feet are killing me after every shift, but in the end I just have to remember how worth it, it all is in the end.
A goodie would be nice, but not necessary. This is something I've always wanted to try but haven't had the chance to get one.
