I'm a side sleeper and standard travel pillows never worked for me. That all changed when I was gifted one of these. Closest thing to sleeping on your side while sitting down, I do not fly without it.

Earlier this year I replaced my memory foam u-shaped pillow (Cabeau) with a Trtl pillow which makes a great wraparound and lightweight small size option. They then came out with a version 2 the Trtl Pillow Plus that you should check out.

Congrats! The Model 3 is a fantastic road trip car.

One little thing I'd recommend to increase your comfort: if you plan to hang out in the car at all while supercharging, bring a small pillow. The Model 3's seats are generally super comfortable, but when trying to relax in a reclined seat the hard, forward-tilted head restraint is a real neck killer.

This small camping pillow fixes the problem nicely and makes it easy to relax while supercharging somewhere without much else to do.

Eh...I don't know about that. I've seen a lot of fake reviews lately. Ones that seem to come from some South Asia country that all sound the same. They answer the questions in the Q&A section with completely unrelated answers.

For example, the reviews for this product make it seem like it's the best product on Amazon, but after buying it, it's kinda just meh. The reviews all kinda sound the same. There used to be a lot of questions on this one, but I guess they deleted them.

One of these awesome pillows and a Zquil and I can fall asleep back with the masses.

The new stuff was the bag, DrySpec D38, and the tent, which is a Marmot Tungsten 3p.

The bag is terrific. I like it is stiff, so it's a bit easier to open it up and see what's in there compared to other drybags. Also, it's got a nice set of attachment points to hook to the bike or hook more bags to it. I really wanted a Kriega but ended up going with this because it was a bit cheaper. I've never used Kriega, but so far I'm not disappointed in my decision.

The tent stows a bit bigger than I'd like, but I knew that when I picked a "3-person" tent and that it included the footprint. Plus the price was great when I got it a few months ago and it's large enough for two people pretty comfortably. Other than that, it is easy to put up and take down and didn't have condensation issues.

The rest is pretty standard camping gear. Sleeping bag is a Kelty Cosmic 20, sleeping pad is a large Therm-A-Rest NeoAir Venture (I like the extra width over the regular), pillow is a Therm-A-Rest. Stove is a MSR Whisperlite International, and I'm not sure what the cookset is.

For the motorcycle stuff I'm rocking an RF1200, a piece of shit Roland Sands Clarion jacket that I hate but got a killer deal on ($99), some Held Rodney gloves that I should probably upgrade to something a bit more protective but I love these gloves too much. I'm wearing some pretty standard steel toe boots from work and I'm need to purchase some over pants for some better crash protection and was leaning towards the Olympia Airglide 4's.

I'll also need another smaller bag, so I'm thinking of picking up the DrySpec D28.

Other than that the bag is going to be filled with clothes, toiletries and a bunch of freeze dried meals.

I’ve seen a lot of pillow talk recently, I think I found another ringer.

Okay so obviously that first link was joke, but then I saw this other link (the one below). Could this bad boy be converted into an inflatable vest? Potentially use this instead of a sleeping pad?

I just had bsso only yesterday moving my underbite back.

Still in the hospital but recovery is going much smoother than I thought. Not alot of pain, mostly sore throat from the breathing tube. Small dose of oxycodone was prescribed and that took care of the only pain I had in the back of my jaw.

Was able to drink and eat sherbert a few hours after surgery which tasted amazing.

Breakfast was cream of wheat (I could kind of gum it, not chew) coffee, oj, and milk.

The swelling is real. Get an airplane pillow, the one I have is a LIFESAVER, not necessarily for the pillow aspect, but it's really helping me prop the ice packs on my jaw which is really helping.

Long cord phone charger is nice.

Can't talk about weight loss yet. I was surprisingly not too hungry last night or this morning, considering I haven't had solid food for 38 hours now. That's a good thing though

Any other questions, fire away.

Packing cubes, a 360-swivel hard top (I have two different sizes of the Amazon basics one and actually love it...it won’t hold up forever but I needed to step up this year with a new job and they’ve served me well so far), this pillow , my Kindle, a charger so my iPhone doesn’t punk out halfway through a plane movie.

I’m still trying to find the perfect travel tote. I’d love one that does double duty for work since I bring my laptop home often. Right now I have this and it looks good and functions but it might be a little too structured.

u/AnchovyPudding · 2 pointsr/DesignPorn

It used to be available on Amazon. I have one.

u/cramp · 2 pointsr/travel

I'm the exact same way and almost gave up on plane sleeping, but last year I fell asleep sitting up on a 3-hour flight after taking (prescribed) Xanax for nerves. This gave me hope. For my next long haul flight, I'm going to use this promising-looking neck pillow, a couple mgs of Xanax, an eye mask, and a pair of noise-canceling headphones. I call this experiment "bootleg first class."

What I like about Xanax over sleeping pills like Ambien is that I ~should~ be able to be woken up for dinner or whatever (by my husband, not the FA) without an issue.

u/swollencornholio · 2 pointsr/travel

Cabeau Evolution has worked really well for me. The neck height and memory foam is key. It locks your head in.

Everlasting makes what looks to be a cheaper version though I have not tried it personally.

u/sargon2 · 2 pointsr/Ultralight

> bothers me for some ridiculous and irrational reason that it is possible that it could fail

Wanting reliable gear is not irrational. I've had a pad fail (my XTherm) and it's a pain to deal with.

> ... food bag under pillow ...

Andrew Skurka used to say he used his food bag as a pillow. He argues leaving the food out away from your camp is inviting wildlife to take it, and near you is the safest place for it since animals are afraid of you.

Also, I have a FlexAir medical pillow (large), and it definitely gets wide enough for side sleeping. Fully inflated it's practically like a basketball.

  1. Black Patagonia neoprene half zip - grabbed it at a sports store on clearance, and it has never served me wrong. Looks great over a t-shirt or button down, and can even (sort of) pass as a half-zip sweater in slightly nicer situations. Adds just the right amount of warmth, and great for layering.

  2. Kindle Voyage - bought a refurb on sale to upgrade from my Kindle Keyboard, really makes a size and weight difference, and the backlight won't keep your seatmate or hostel-mates up, whereas the Kindle Keyboard's extendable cover light would. I miss paper books on longer one bags, but you just can't beat the space efficiency of this piece of equipment.

  3. Lewis N. Clark Inflatable Travel Pillow - this thing is amazing. I never understand why people use those ugly, bulking foam pillows when this exists. It is just as comfortable as the foam ones, easy to inflate and deflate with its special valve, takes up little space, and comes with a pouch in which you can also store an eye mask and ear plugs. The designers even made the next part slim so your head stays in a natural position versus the seatback.

  4. My favorite baseball hat - invaluable for those mornings where you can't be bothered to wash up fully and don't want your mop to be out of control. Also serves as a convenient makeshift eye mask.

  5. MacBook 12'' - so light and slim I can't think of a better travel computer.

  6. Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer - they don't make a better packable down jacket, from what I can tell. The down is treated so it is water resistant, and is much warmer than synthetic fill. Still packs down to water bottle size, and doubles as a pillow when packed into its own pocket if needed.

  7. Banana Republic Traveler Jeans - built like a tank in terms of durability, look very fashionable, yet feel like sweatpants when you wear them. Some people manage without jeans, I think they are the most versatile pant you can wear anywhere in the world, and should be part of every pack.

  8. Ex Officio Give N Go Boxer Briefs - same reasons as everyone else. An amazing lifesaver.

  9. Something personal - always great to have a reminder of home / friends / loved ones when traveling.

  10. An envelope - I love to save ticket stubs, business cards from restaurants and the like, etc. when I travel

I bought this travel pillow before my last trip and it has worked out pretty well.

https://www.amazon.com/Lewis-N-Clark-Adjustable-Inflatable/dp/B003N7NN06

Since it's inflatable, you can decide for yourself how much air you want in it, and it deflates into almost nothing so you're not stuck carrying a big travel pillow when you're not using it. It's also on sale right now for $10 (it's usually $15).

u/zero_dgz · 1 pointr/Ultralight

I have one of these. I find it immensely preferable to stuffing clothes or a jacket in a stuff sack or something along those lines. I always seem to end up with a zipper or a button in the ear all night when I do that.

If the alternative to a stuff sack full of clothes is nothing, I find that nothing is preferable.

These things are of negligible weight and stupidly cheap, though.

this is pillow soft foldUp ,small enough carried in bag.

  1. Order cocktail
  2. Take a sleeping pill or muscle relaxer
  3. Have wine w dinner
  4. Conk out for most of the trip with just enough time to watch a movie and catch brekkie

They have pretty good movies on overseas flights usually and on-demand. I'll watch one of those so I don't have my tablet in my lap taking up room.

Also, this travel pillow. I can't sleep sitting upright using one of the ubiquitous neck ones.

I had good luck with this one. I have actually used it to sleep with on nights my neck is bothering me

u/nbaaftwden · 1 pointr/BabyBumps

I have this travel pillow and last time we flew I used it behind my lower back. When we got to our destination I used it between my knees. Very adaptable!

u/NorDub · 1 pointr/Ultralight

I tried two different inflatable pillows and could never get comfortable. In fact, last summer I had a new inflatable pillow and was excited to test it out. I couldn't fall asleep it was so uncomfortable, I just slept without a pillow the rest of the night.

I may get ridiculed here, but I have a ~7 oz pillow that I've had this summer and I haven't looked back. So comfortable, and I can take the weight penalty. I'm not ultralight by any means, but I've dropped my base weight from ~25 pounds to under 15 pounds in the past couple of years, due to this sub.

Non-inflatable pillow I'd like to try to save a little weight: https://ripstopbytheroll.com/products/apex-pillow-kit

I also heard from /u/scayyys that someone on BPL was making foam pillows and the dimensions were 11x17 and were less than 4 ounces.

It'll be tough for anyone here to diagnose, so if you can see a Dr/PT. If not, one thing that has helped some i know is a travel pillow. You can use for more customized support

u/thmblfl · 1 pointr/piercing

I’ve never used a pillow like that, but this is the pillow I use. I like it because I can use it snapped together like a normal neck pillow or I can twist/bend it into a better position. The pillow case part on it is removable and washable, but for a fresh piercing I usually put a pillow case over it in case it bleeds or something.

u/boogieforward · 1 pointr/churning

I got the inflatable one that sits across your body and used it on multiple long haul flights. I really like it! Some Amazon reviews say it is less effective for people above a certain height. I had zero problems because I'm 5' tall so ymmv.

u/daeedorian · 1 pointr/camping

That's cool, they're a Prime exclusive for $16.50 shipped.

Sold out at the moment, but hey, I can wait.

u/jk88 · 1 pointr/Entrepreneur

I think your site is great. The suggestion to add keywords may make it too much like all the other shopping search engines and take away from the randomness factor that makes your site unique. Obviously, you need more products because I went through "about $20" in 2 minutes.

On that note, I'd be ecstatic if you'd put my product, the Arm Pillo, on your site. Good luck.

u/Bo_Peep · 1 pointr/breakingmom

I got my son a travel pillow. It's perfect size for a toddler (but he still steals mine).

u/angelworks · 1 pointr/AskReddit

I sleep on my stomach with a travel pillow propped under my chin. To keep it there, I snuggle it in my arms like a child would a teddy bear. It keeps my mouth closed, and provides extra support for my head.

u/Smeegs3 · 0 pointsr/TravelHacks

I’ve tried them all, and this is by far the best:

It ties to the seat back so you actually get support on the side of your head.
