I got a 60 inch Vizomax TV Screen Protector for LCD, LED & Plasma HDTV https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HAZ251K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_cnU6Me8Itntp5.

Probably the most expensive route but well worth the investment and small price to pay to protect my Samsung 60" 4K from grown adults in VR to my toddler with a solid throwing arm.

Can a cat's claws damage the screen of an LED television? What's the best (& cheapest) substance I can lay over the screen to prevent damage? As some here may recall, my partner and I recently adopted a kitty, but we unfortunately work for much of the day and so are seeking ways to keep him entertained in our absence (when we're around he gets lots of active playtime, walks, snuggles, pets, etc.). To that end, we've purchased and made for him various toys (e.g ones where you slap a ball around a track or chase a sock hanging from a string), scattered puzzle feeders around the apartment (to simulate foraging), ensured access to many comfy spots next to windows, and so on.

Recently, I bought a TV to replace the one in the bedroom, and since they they've fallen in price so much lately (I mean $100 for a 4K 50" panel, really), our old 40" 1080P screen is probably worthless (esp. considering we bought it for $150 5y ago). Conversely, I've noticed the kitty really likes various online 'cat game' videos, e.g. 1, 2. I have some old raspberry pi's & smart outlets etc. lying around, so I was thinking of ripping a bunch of them and having the TV loop through them every so often in our absence (and also set up a live webcam feed obvi). The screen would be positioned horizontally, probably on the floor, so that he can pretend to hunt or w/e.

We keep his claws trimmed, but I'd still expect them to be able to damage the LED TV screen with enough pounces -- is that expectation well founded? If it is, what would be the best substance to layer atop the screen so that he can't scratch it it? Preferably something on the cheaper end -- while a 35" x 20" glass panel would indeed be harder than his claws, it would cost way way more than the tv itself. I also think acrylic / pcb would scratch too easily? There look to be products that might suit my needs but they're also a bit pricey.

Other updates, for those curious -- his incision has mostly healed over, and we took him on his first 'real' hike last weekend, where he 'performed' very well! (minimal tugging, keeping pace consistently)

Thanks for any help!

Here is the cover we got.

u/neolfex · 6 pointsr/OLED

I bought this cover for mine. It slides on and off very easily.

Kuzy TV Cover 55", Display Protector for Flat Screen up to 55-inch Dust Cover - Made in USA - BLACK https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017TE5PYK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_U3-UBbD6Z1EDN

Like this?

Seriously though, what's a mutboard?

u/SirMaster · 3 pointsr/hometheater

Well it's a projector... You are supposed to replace the bulb after so many hours because they get dim.

I posted this in another thread.

You could try cutting the correct size from a 4'X8' sheet of acrylic from Home Depot ($110). Attach it using velcro. You could also just buy something pre-made from Amazon.

LapWorks Big Screen TV Swivel with 21x16 inch Base and Steel Ball Bearings - holds 200 Pounds https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009UDTUNG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_enhYxbHNZMRYJ

I just found this on Amazon. I really like the shape and feel like it would be a good stand. Where I plan to display it the stand really won't be very visible so I'm leaning towards something black that's more functional opposed to looking pretty.

Not sure if it's what you want but this one this exactly alike.

HPS is somewhat efficient.. reaching up to 100 lumens/watt, but it's still inefficient compared to LEDs. One good benefit of HPS is that it will generate heat if you need a heating aspect at the same time.

I would definitely recommend samsung F series LED strips if you want great full spectrum light with high efficiency. 1 of these: https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/samsung-semiconductor-inc/SI-B8T521560WW/1510-2223-ND/6624007

would give you over 9.9k lumens at about 192 lumens/watt, running at about ~55w. The strip is $26 and the power supply is only $20 for the high quality meanwell ones (https://www.amazon.com/MEAN-WELL-LPV-60-24-DRIVER-AC-DC/dp/B0180X3SRK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1511761666&sr=8-3)

You can probably even cut that in half if you wanted a no name power supply. ~$55 should cover almost everything including a u-channel as a heatsink.

Get something between 3000k-5000k in temperature - this will depend on the crop and whether you're looking for more vegetative growth or more fruiting type growth.

TV at vertically centered eye level height while seated. Why not just place the TV on the cabinet which may be a good height? Then put the center in the cabinet tilted up a bit. The C5.2 is a large enough speaker to match the B6.2s and may fit. The larger C6.2 would definitely be the choice for towers.

Or use a tabletop TV stand to raise the TV above the center on top of the cabinet.

There's not enough space underneath the mainboard to hide the TCON board, and the cable between the mainboard and panel controller seems to be a generic LVDS cable rather than a data cable. I also see what is potentially an AUO branded chip just below the heatsink, so I would assume the TCON board is part of the mainboard.

Your other submissions mention audio but no video. With that in mind, I would consider your diagnosis correct in that it is a TCON issue.

I can't read the model number from your image, but the mainboard looks like a LWZQVIBS model - note that this model is incompatible with LWZQVIDS devices, with the exception of parts produced by Tekbyus - as shown here: https://www.amazon.com/Tekbyus-791-01J10-0011-Main-Board-E55-E2/dp/B074KPRC4B

Be mindful to match by the part number, rather than the model number, as regional variations are hardcoded into this model.

I would also check voltages and amperages from the hot side of the PSU (be careful!). This could be the underlying issue that caused the problem in the first place.

I use one of these for bias lighting for my monitor. RGB and has a remote.

u/mysta316 · 1 pointr/funny

Get a new TV. My Samsung TV uses this remote to control everything. Use it to control Netflix, Amazon, pretty much all of them.

u/orphantosseratwork · 1 pointr/AskBattlestations

so this is the stand i have. its not height adjustable because i bought it before i used it for my desk and i didnt need it to be, but i just drilled some new holes real quick for the mounting brackets to get the height i needed and i bought this for the tilty bits that mount to the back of the tv. if you want to keep it simple tho and mount to the wall this single stud bracket says it has a -16 tilt and this double stud bracket has a -15 tilt

Haven't used a TV for minis specifically, but I can tell you that any sort of plastic object (like the plastic base that a mini stands on) is a risk for scratches.

You could pick up one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Non-Glare-TV-ProtectorTM-Stylish-Screen-Protector/dp/B01AS7181E?th=1

That said, have you tried setting up the TV and sitting around it in a realistic position? The viewing angle might be difficult for players depending on their height.

u/rabel10 · 1 pointr/OLED

I use one of these: https://www.amazon.com/PetSafe-PDT00-13914-SSSCAT-Spray-Deterrent/dp/B000RIA95G

Put it where your cat likes to jump up. I put it behind the TV at night so he doesn't get to the cables.

I also have this TV cover. I use it mostly for the occasional sunlight that comes in, but it does keep him from rubbing on the TV.

u/sotodefonk · 1 pointr/projectors

Yup, cheap bulbs sucks, they throw less light than the original and they last way less.

For example, there is a company called Lutema that kinda sells 3 tier of lamps for projector and they show a graph in which they say how much performance you should expect of theirs lamps.

Lutema graph

They sell them on amazon, but still, they could be DOA or only work for a few hours before failing.

Seeing that the projector is ancient, I would forget about it and buy a new one with at least HDMI and 720p like an epson 740HD. Epson lamps are pretty cheap, the original one for the 740HD is like 70 bucks.

If you image search for your example, what we find is that this is called a multimedia table

in other words, it's built that way.

but that gives us this search

https://www.google.com/search?q=multimedia+table+TV+mount&tbm=isch

https://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&q=tv+table+mount

with some promising options

http://www.standsandmounts.com/

There are plenty options for smaller screens and stables, but it seems that once you get above a certain weight capacity, most mounts are wall mounts

You probably will end up with something similar to this

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BTBVV5Q

or this

http://www.amazon.com/ShopJimmy-Universal-Table-Stand-Base/dp/B00KGE3GZ6/

But then the issue is finding appropriate clamps to keep it anchored.
