That is beautiful. Ought to last for decades.

Since you are so proactive, consider replacing those hoses with steel braided lines:

The braided hoses are good. I would recommend getting ones that have auto shutoff valves if there is a drastic change in the pressure differential.

>Is there any way to build a tallis katan so the tzitzis can be easily removed or transferred between multiple sheets?

They are specifically required to be tied on rather than connected after having been made (obviously another reason Messianic strings are invalid, but that's a different story).

> I've been thinking of starting to wear them, but it seems like one would quickly become fairly dire, even if wool is supposed to suppress smell.

There's really no problem washing them. If you use a cotton garment, the only thing you need to worry about is the strings getting all knotty. In which case you can either hang them to dry after un-knotting them, or buy one of these things that you wrap the strings around during the wash. If you use a wool garment, many dry cleaners will accept it as a scarf.

Apparently, there are anti-walking pads specifically designed to solve this problem (I know, I was surprised, too!). I have not used them, but they appear to have received excellent reviews.

Somebody on this sub recommended these things but I'm worried they won't roll on carpet. The laundry room is tile (or was it laminate?) but the room outside is carpet.

Even better you should get Flood Safe hoses

u/baggar11 · 2 pointsr/HomeImprovement

The NR-210A has no flow requirement according to Navien. The NR-210 model has a 0.5 gpm min flow rate. Which is the same as my Takagi.

Here's the pump I use for flushing my tankless once a year.
Some simple washing machine hoses will allow you to hook up to the clean out valves. Just dunk the pump in a 5 gallon bucket of white vinegar and run it through for about an hour with the tankless in off mode.

If you don't power a stepper motor it will spin freely with the only resistance being friction and the magnetic interaction between the rotor and the poles.

You could use a DC motor, but if it's a gear motor then you will have substantial resistance freewheeling because of the gear reduction.

Three things come to mind that would work:

  1. A sprag sprocket like on a bicycle or a sprag clutch

  2. A DC gear motor with an electrical clutch to completely disconnect the motor.

  3. A racheting mechanism. This might be the most practical since you can pick up really cheap 1/4" rachet tools and you could modify the head of one of them to drive a cable. Depends on how mechanically handy you are I guess, but it should work.

It’s likely not installed properly.

Every washer I’ve seen midline and above for some time has had anti vibration support feet that you may have to adjust.

If that fails, Sorbothane will solve your problem.

Sorbothane Anti-Vibration Anti-Walk Washer and Dryer Machine Floor Pads (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00536VQE0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_8n7JDb6PFXW8M

There’s various options at various price points if you’re willing to roll the dice. For me, the Sorbothane brand has always performed while others have been hit or miss.

Yeah, you know what, OP?

Here's the part you need:
http://www.amazon.com/Whirlpool-W10006355-Actuator/dp/B00DM8KQ2Y

Here's how to install it:

You don't have to disconnect all the hoses and lean the machine onto its front, you can just pull the machine forward and lean it back against the wall and work on it from underneath if you want the short-cut.

Basically, this is a big problem with your type of machine -- there's a small speed sensor that stops working, and the machine can't spin or agitate without it. It's an easy install, and will save you about $180.

OK, forget about the keezer needing to be under the counter. Mount the tower throught the lid as you normally would, except as far forward as possible. Complete the keezer as you would if it was going to be a stand alone unit.

Roll the keezer under the counter until the uprights of the tower come into contact with the counter top. Determine how much farther back you want the keezer to roll and cut slots in the counter top to accommodate the tower uprights as you roll it the rest of the way in. Round the back of the slots so they fit to the shape of the tower uprights.

As you roll the keezer as far under the counter top , the uprights on the ends of the tower will go all the way into the slots. The keezer will be where you want it now. Sitting or mounting this type of drip tray between the tower and the edge of the counter will hide the open parts of the slots: https://www.amazon.com/YaeBrew-Length-Rectangular-Stainless-Surface/dp/B07PXKJF7C/ref=sr_1_17?keywords=drip+tray+for+beverage+dispenser&qid=1569252720&sr=8-17

When you need to access the keezer to change kegs, etc., just remove the drip tray and roll the keezer out. If you can't find a drip tray long enough use 2 shorter ones.

I use these under my keezer so can be rolled out: https://smile.amazon.com/SoftTouch-4260795N-Waxman-Expandable-Appliance/dp/B004670WB0/ref=sr_1_1?crid=39I3MCSQYDQ0D&keywords=rollers+for+refrigerator&qid=1569253660&sprefix=rollers+for+refr%2Caps%2C394&sr=8-1

They only increase the height by about 1 1/4".

Thanks a lot . Seems simple enough.

Based on the part# you gave this should be it - https://www.amazon.com/Washing-Whirlpool-AP6023670-PS11757016-WPW10661045/dp/B01HP14RJ6

Should be several options. Amazon has options, but I'm sure you can find these (or something similar) anywhere.

I'm assuming you have a top-loading washer. Turn off the water supply and disconnect the hoses from the back, usually there are screens inside the hose connections on the back of the washer that may be clogged with debris. Put the end of the hoses inside the washer and turn on the water supply to make sure water is getting to the machine. If water is getting to the washer and the screens are not clogged look up your model number on an appliance parts website and get a replacement water valve.

u/Habanero_Eyeball · 1 pointr/Plumbing

They're like this with stainless steel braiding around the outside.

u/TedwardCz · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

Agreed. That really looks like a Sharkbite cap.

I'm not sure what your measurements are, but you might be able to get by with one of the prefab Sharkbite washing machine boxes...

http://www.amazon.com/Sharkbite-25098-Washing-Machine-Outlet/dp/B014P3TB02/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1453391312&sr=8-2&keywords=sharkbite+washing+machine

Oh, also, Sharkbites are pretty reliable, but don't keep disconnecting and reconnecting them. That'll wear them out pretty quick.

What about something like this? https://www.amazon.com/SoftTouch-4260795N-Waxman-Expandable-Appliance/dp/B004670WB0 I bought it to put under my cat's litter box so I could easily slide it out from under a shelf. The only downside is that is doesnt turn easily.
