Hi! I also have chronic pain/am disabled. I play Steam games with an Xbox One controller with the Windows 10 wireless adapter. (I tried the Steam Controller but it was bulky, not intuitive, and I basically hated it. lol. YMMV.)
I have my tower sitting in this cabinet, which I covered with this film to keep everything hidden. My husband cut out the back of the cabinet to install a fan / make room for the cables to come out of the back.
We used these cord covers to keep everything neat.
I use this wall-mounted swing arm from Amazon for my monitor. I push it toward the wall when I am done. (I put my chair/station in the corner for this to work.)
I sit in an IKEA Poang chair with ottoman, using this lower lumbar cushion and this coccyx cushion.
I use this mouse arm on the Poang chair, these cushions for my elbows, and a beanbag rest for my wrist (for when I have to use the mouse).
My keyboard sits on a shelf beside me and I pull it onto a lap desk (stored under my chair) for when I need to use it.
I also have a wall mount for my Xbox One controller.

Swapped out my rubber dome MS Natural 4000 for this guy.
Loads of fun to assemble and really gave me a nice sense of achievement when it was done. Even gave it a custom logo to boot.
The body is acrylic (not that fancy), top plate is from Massdrop (kind of fancy), and wrist rests are from Amazon (squishy goodness). Mostly settled on the layout but still tweaking one or two buttons here and there.

I absolutely love mine, I can't stand normal staggered keyboard layouts at all anymore. Benefit to the classic case is my ergo hook is way more portable for traveling.
I will say I don't like the layered sheets style case at all. I would prefer an injection molded case for it to be more compact. If I ever get a 3D printer the first thing I'm doing with it is a compact case for my ergo dox.
I hightly recommend the CM Quickfire Rapid to anyone knew to the mechanical keyboard world. They are built very well. They don't go for the 'Gamer' look and just offer a solid keyboard. They are available from most big retailers (most high level mechs are not). They offer a lot of the perks of premium mech boards, without the higher price as you can often find them for pretty cheap ($50 - $80). The only real downside to them, is the key caps. They are pretty cheap, but odds are if you're buying a mechanical keyboard, you plan on customizing them anyways. Which the QFR lends itself very well to. Some keyboards (like the K65) have some keys that are not standard size. This makes it a little more difficult to customize.
Need a wrist wrest? Look no further than the Griffiti Tenkeyless. It may fray a little, but support is very good and it's comfy. As opposed to other brands that offer cheap plasic ones.

I use this one at work because it's cheap and super cushy. It's bad for people with oily or sweaty hands though, as the foam falls apart with prolonged contact to liquids. I use this one at home (well, one just like it). It's gel with a material casing and rubber foot. Nothing you do to it while using your computer should cause it to break down. The downside is when they get dirty, cleaning fabrics with a sponge can be annoying. Also comes in whatever size you need.

OP, the equipment (mouse + keyboard + hand rest) really matters. If you don't have a good mouse or keyboard and a hand rest you may want to really invest in these.
Also you can map your mouse buttons to the keyboard. Or you can map everything to your mouse if you decide to go that route. A good multi button mouse like the G600 (specifically meant for MMO gaming without using the KB much) can map all the keys needed for POE to the mouse. There are other mice you should look at, specifically look for a decent 5-7 button mouse. Gigabyte makes quite a good 5 button mouse you can get for like $20.
I HIGHLY recommend a good mouse pad and a wrist rest pad. I use this 3M wrist pad combined with a Steel Serise mouse pad. A good mouse pad makes a very noticeable difference in terms of how hard/easy it is to move the mouse.

Wrist rests are actually bad for posture and cause carpal tunnel/RSI, since no pressure should ever be applied to your wrist (either resting on a desk or a wrist rest) Your wrists should be floating above the desk, parallel to the ground. It's tiring at first, but you get used to it and it's better than having wrist pain for the rest of your life.
If you really want one that badly though, these ones are really good and this one is cheap.
I've had pain in my wrists, mostly from diablo-style action RPGs, but I ended up switching to much more ergonomic setups at both home and work.

An important note, a lot of keyboard have those little raising feet on the back. They are bad for your wrists. They are the result of putting feet on the front getting patented (which are good for your wrists) and keyboard companies deciding that those were cool selling points and putting the feet on the back to avoid the patent, regardless of how bad it was for the user... This microsoft keyboard avoids the patent by having a separate attachment that raises the front to create a neutral wrist position.

It's all about avoiding twisting and bending your wrist and excessive strain on it. It made a huge difference for me, but I ended up buying like 4 different mouse wrist rests at the same time since they were all around $10 to find the ones that worked best for me.
I'd recommend a Grifiti Fat Wrist Pad to go with that Mech for comfort while typing/resting palms!

For the most part I'm really happy with it. Dead accurate, very smooth, and the "self-cleaning" ball just works. You hold it differently from a mouse, and it doesn't pretend to be a mouse like other trackballs. It's very, very large in comparison to most devices (probably not good for small hands) and you need to hold your hand very far forward to work the buttons and the scroll wheel right. It's always comfortable but it takes a month or two to fully adapt until it feels "natural" and you stop thinking about it. I do recommend a wrist rest since you hold it so far forward. If you let your wrist "kink" as it meets the desk I think you will get real sore.
It's my personal bet to try and stave off carpal tunnel syndrome - I think moving my fingers/hand to roll the ball is less likely to cause problems than a thumb-control trackball (moving your thumb while your hand is clenched is not a natural movement) or a mouse. I've never had problems with CT Syndrome, but given that I work at a desk I do worry about the potential for it.
There are a few things I don't like about the LaserTRAC - the combo to toggle sensor resolution (middle+right mouse button) is easier to hit accidentally than I'd like particularly in gaming, there are only 3 buttons, and as far as I know there are no "real" add-on buttons available, just things that people have ghetto'd up with Legos and stuff. The only one I've ever seen that looked good was a modded dictation foot-pedal - but at that point you might as well just get a USB dictation foot-pedal and forget about the LaserTRAC's expansion ports. I got the jacks because they were only like $5 or $10 extra on Massdrop... but it's pretty much wasted money.
Personal opinion here but the casing's "top slope" is not quite right somehow and I think that's where some of the learning curve comes from. I use a wrist rest to get my hand farther up on the device and it works fine, but really I think they could stand to lop off the closest 3/4" or 1" of the body casing so that you are not tempted to rest your hand too low on it. Or maybe just embrace the fact that it's an enormous honking trackball and have a less aggressive downward curve to force your wrist higher up into a horizontal position.

Grifiti Fat Wrist Pad
It's the perfect size for my board. Thank you, on the caps! The board is a poker3 rgb. When I was looking around for caps, I had seen a photo someone posted here, from about a year ago, of the translucent pudding keycaps on their poker3, and I thought it looked great, so I bought some myself. They especially look good with the white plate under the caps that come on the board.

Could be any number of things. What kind of chair to you use? What angle are your wrists at when you're typing? Do you rest your arms/wrists on the desk as you're typing, or do you float them above the keyboard?
Between playing guitar a lot through high school (and still a fair amount now) and the amount I spend on my computer (similar to you) my wrists aren't in the greatest of shape, either, though I don't think they're as bad as yours.
As far as wrist pads, I've seen a number of people on here use Grifiti Wrist Pads, which come in sizes for Full-sized keyboards, TKL, 60% and mouse pads.
I've been thinking of getting one of them for myself.
It's actually really, really nice. It was fairly cheap on Amazon and some of the reviews warned about how dense it was and how badly it smelled. The smell went away after a few hours and even though it's dense, it's soft enough that my wrists don't hurt after typing all day.

Taking frequent breaks would reduce the risk a lot in general.
Instead of playing 4-6 hours straight without rest, have a break every hour or 3 -4 games, do some stretches, toilet break, water, food.

My natural position is resting on my elbow (use the chair's armrest) and using it as a pivot point to move, keeping your wrist straight and resting on the pads of your hand and finger tips.
This creates a small arch or gap between your wrist and the table that you can fit a flat ruler under your wrist.
When you move while keeping your wrist straight, it becomes the concept behind arm aiming. you can still use your wrist for finer adjustments but not big motions.
This will relieve the pressure put on your wrist and most of your forearm.
The keyboard/mouse Wrist rest simulates the arch while providing support between the gap but the wrist rest will be obstructing you which makes it difficult to arm aim.

not OP but I have one. And it's true, it is uncomfortable to use without a wrist wrest. That is, if you type with incorrect posture.
If you're used to typing with the heels of your hands sitting on a desk or rest, then yes, you will find the K2 to be uncomfortably tall. However, this kind of typing posture can hurt your wrists long-term.

That's exactely what I got it for! I purchased mine at Best Buy here locally, but Amazon has them.
I have very large hands and have used a few high(er) end mice over the last couple years. I would also recommend a wrist pad, either as part of the mousepad or something like this.
My favorite mouse for every day use is the SteelSeries Rival 300 (I have the original rival which appears to be the same as the 300). It is quite large and has grippy rubber on either side. You can also disable the lighting easily with the software and it won't scream "gaming mouse". I have used it at work for a the better part of 4 years now and have no complaints, the rubber under my thumb has worn quite a bit but otherwise it is just fine.
For home I have the logitech g502 which I like quite a bit but it is distinctly a gaming mouse. It is pretty big but still a lot smaller than the Rival, I have to claw grip it still. I am actually considering replacing it with another Rival.
The g502 replaced a Corsair m65 for me which I never loved, it was solid but was a bit too small and never felt quite right for me.
The m65 had replaced my old Logitech g9x which I loved but was discontinued and demands too much for a good condition one these days.
I use a normal mouse and keyboard, but I do use a wrist support for the mouse.

This one, Le Petit Mouse Cushion by Imak is my all-time favorite. It's the perfect size and height for my wrists when my arms are at the same height as my desk. It's has just enough support, but not too much. More importantly, two sides - one is a soft cloth that does a great job clinging to most mousepads, and the other side has very smooth bumps that let it glide everywhere which is perfect for when I'm playing games and moving my mouse everywhere.
The Handstands Add-A-Pad is my second favorite and the one I use at work. Be warned though, plenty of reviews were right - too many beads at first! I have smaller wrists and using it at first caused MORE pain since it would sit my wrist so high. After removing ~40% of the beads over the course of a couple times, I found exactly the amount of support I needed. Sewed it up and it's much better!
I've had the gel mat, and currently have this which helps, but is still uncomfortable after more than an hour or two. Keyboard I don't have as big of a problem with, I have a generic Logitech with a gel mat and that's good enough. It's more of the mouse than anything, but nothing I have tried helps.
I bought a wrist pad like this. I had the same problems but this has seemed to fix it - at least for a Keycool84 brown and a Das4 pro brown.
I'd actually recommend you get a separate wrist rest, that way you have your choice of material(such as wood or foam ones), and separate wrist rests are usually better than the ones on stock keyboards like the K70. I've had one before and the wrist rest was kinda meh.
Thanks! I try to keep most of the stuff off of it, but more often then not i am taking stuff my girlfriend puts on their almost immediately. I got the wristpads on amazon for around 14 bucks for the 17in pad and 9bucks for the 8in mouse rest. I highly reccomend, as they have saved my wrists from a ton of stress and from resting on the sharp edge of the desk.
I am a big fan of the Grifiti fat wrist pads. I have them at work and at home. I have an extra fullsized pink one if anyone wants it.
To add about the wrist pad, get one that's about the height of your keyboard so your wrists won't fall into a weird angle causing stress, which I've noticed a lot of the stock wristpads that come with keyboards do cause your wrists to do.This one is pretty good. I got it on sale for about $6.
Another good one is this. They both sit about as high as a standard keyboard so you won't be causing any strain on your wrists.
A mouse-pad with a cushion may also help you, like this. It all comes down to preference though, as I like flat, large mousepads, but these can help reduce strain and keep your wrist straight.

Keep in mind you don't get any backlighting, but the Hyper X keeb only has red backlighting, so not much difference, I can find boards with backlighting if you really want that.
Do you really need an attachable wrist rest? Most of the boards that come with attachable wrist rests are straight ass and you can go get an actually good wrist rest with your leftover money. If you're just looking for a comfortable wrist rest I'll shout out Grifiti wrist rests. Quality stuff, and it feels very good. Amazon has you covered. Different colors and sizes also available. That wrist rest is thick, and fits the CM case dimensions well.
You may find this a little more suitable. It's not a full length but it is a tad more ergonomic. I bought it for the same reason you mentioned though I just use no wrist wrest now. There is also this which doesn't attach to the keyboard itself but it still a pretty comfortable option. I've also used these and if I had choose between the stock wrist wrest, the "FPS" wrest, or the foam one, I'd probably choose the foam.

That's probably just the stock UV coated keycaps. They're the cheapest to manufacture but also don't feel all that great. You might look into buying some aftermarket non-coated ABS or PBT keycaps.

As OP says in the description of the last picture, the keyboard is a Ducky Shine 3 with cherry mx brown switches, and a Grifiti tenkeyless wrist pad.
It seems that OP may have desoldered the old blue LEDs from the keyboard and resoldered white ones to which he has added colour changers, or he simply added the color changers and cranked up the light intensity of the blue LED-s
I like the Gritifi Fat. Pretty cheap, and comfortable. I'd say it's about the right height for my Pro S as well.

Was going to mention a change of stand but you already said you were probably going to change it. The one you've chosen, nice and minimal with a small footprint that complements your setup nicely.

If budget is a concern then painting would be the way to go, or even having a go a wrapping it in white carbon fibre textured vinyl if you wanted to mix things up visually a bit.
Though, if budget does allow you can always go custom-built mechanical and have it look however you like, though I did see that you prefer scissor switches so it probably wouldn't be worth the investment just to see how you like a "proper" mechanical. Customs get very expensive very quickly. If you're interested then take a look at the mechanicalkeyboards subreddit.
Small tip for your keyboard cable here. Get some rubber mouse feet that are about 15mm tall and put them under your monitor stand. This way there will be enough space under the monitor route the cable, hiding a bit of its length.
I'd strongly advise that you ditch the Graffiti pad unless you really find it helps with your typing posture. Really, your hands should be like this for typing. I also find they add a little too much visual noise. While gaming, people should really have their hand above the keyboard too. Something like this arm rest this would help with that. You can probably paint it.
If you tend to have drinks with you at your desk quite often then it might be a good idea to grab a coaster, silicone if possible.
Holy shit, I typed this line after writing the bit below after looking for an example coaster for you and found these. Dunno if you've already seen then but what a coincidence!
If you think adding that image in you setup a third time is a bit overboard than you can go for a plain white or black coaster. For a white desk I'd go for black if you want more contrast and white if you'd rather it not be as noticeable.
In your original post you mentioned that you understand that your chair is bad for your back. If I were you then start saving now since, if you've not already started looking, proper ergonomic chairs are so expensive. If Steelcase haven't released a new model by the time you come to buy a new chair then you can get the Gesture which is available in multiple colour options. It's like $1,000. Or the Herman Miller Embody. Again, multiple colours. About $1300.
Gesture if you're going for a more office-esque look and the Embody for a more 'creative' or relaxed feel.
Both of those chairs are flagships, but they are also the nicest looking chairs I've seen! You can get cheaper ones but they aren't as adjustable or ergonomic.
I'd also like to reiterate that your setup is really nice. Too many times do we see people on this sub who've bought a boat-load of expensive gear but is so aesthetically incongruent and not tried to manage a single cable. The worst offender being RGB mouse pads. WHY WOULD YOU NEED RGB ON THAT!? Not to mention that it introduces another cable going over most of the desk that you don't need.
I got a repetitive stress injury during school which has made me super self-conscious while working now.
Focus a lot on self care, regular deep tissue massage, chiropractor visits and the gym. Having a good gym routine, replaces the need for frequent massages. I get massaged once a month. My therapist will go over if she's detecting early signs of carpal tunnel with me, as well as sciatica (let them massage those glutes!). Seeing a chiropractor every now and then to go over my neck alignment. My gym routine is a combination of the exercises that I learned in physical therapy and my own personal goals for gains.
You can see a physical therapist or chiropractor even before the pain gets bad and go over what you need to do to maintain yourself in your lifestyle!
Standing desks help a lot. I also use a vertical mouse, elbow rest, and a seat cushion for when I do sit at work.

I have the same keyboard and I recommend a wrist rest. I didn't think it would make much of a difference but I was totally wrong. I use this and love it (though I'm not a big fan of the logo)
I picked up the TKL version of this from Amazon a couple days before it hit Massdrop. I've only had it a few days but it feels solidly built, stitched along the edge a rigid, rubber-backed backer, nice comfy foam and a soft cloth shell. How it lines up with my Pok3r.. It ended up being like $1 more from Amazon but with Prime I had it in 2 days instead of 3 weeks.

<70g zealios would probably be okay, but I wouldn't recommend using heavy switches as a "workout" for your fingers/wrists, you'd be much better off doing actual workouts for that. Heavier switches won't really help with wrist pain, and switches that are too heavy can make it worse.
An ergo keyboard would be a good thing to look into, though the most important thing is wrist position. You need to make sure the tops of your hands are parallel to your arms. If you're having trouble with hovering your arms over your desk like that you could try stacking a couple of fat wrist rests on top of each other. OR you can (sort of) achieve the same result by putting your elbows below the edge of your desk in order to have your whole arm at an angle.
As far as actual ergo boards go, they tend to be way more expensive but tbh if you're having serious wrist pain I'd look into them. Getting treated for carpal tunnel is way more expensive than the extra $100-200. The Kinesis Advantage is probably the best thing in terms of actually making you adopt an ergonomic typing stance. Barring that (they are expensive), the next best thing would be an ergo board with tenting (horizontal tilt) such as the Ergodox EZ. Though if you have small hands you might not like the thumb cluster of the ergodox much. Technically you can tent any split keyboard by just stacking shit under the inside edges.
OK, on to numpads. A lot of people will tell you how un-ergonomic a fullsize board is. This has more to do with getting an RSI in your shoulder than your wrists, but it would still be recommended to get a TKL with a separate numpad and putting the pad to the left of your keyboard. If you want something programmable, the ducky pocket would be good, but there are several <$20 mechanical numpads on Amazon that work just fine if you just want to use it for number entry. If you really don't like the sound of that you might want to look into the Cooler Master Masterkeys M, which IMO is a severely underrated layout.
Last thing I'll mention: Mice. You didn't say anything about them but IME changing my mouse out for something more ergonomic made the biggest difference in reducing my own wrist pain. Personally I now use the Logitech MX Vertical, which pretty much forces you to put your wrist straight and makes you hold it at a more natural angle to put less stress on your wrist. Then there's trackballs. If you go that route I'd recommend using something like the Kensington Expert where you move the ball with your hand rather than your thumb. I used a Logitech trackball for a little while but using my thumb for mouse movement actually agitated my wrist more than just using a normal mouse. And if you don't want to buy a new mouse, consider switching to using a "claw grip" since that should tend to put your wrist at a straighter angle.

This is the one I have, in just use the keyboard bit and feels fine to use.
While aim training and developing muscle memory is important for most people, you have a unique problem. Before dedicating a lot of time to aim practice I would try to minimize the shakiness in your hand first.
What is your sens and how large is your mousepad? You want your sens to be as low as possible while still being able to make a 180* turn with one sweep across the mousepad. Any of these should be fine.
Lowering your sens will also minimize the shakiness in your hand. Maybe you could also look into larger mouses or ones with specialized surfaces. If you walked into microcenter or some PC store and explained your problem I'm sure they would let you test out a bunch of different mice. Don't settle for equipment that doesn't do the job!
Something else that might help minimize your condition is playing with your wrist on a soft raised surface. I used to play a lot of Osu! and would get some shakiness in my hand. When I placed my wrist on the long one from this it helped to minimize that. Its squishy and that helped to cushion some of that.
As for practicing your aim it's limited in siege. Thunt is good for learning recoil but I prefer to practice my raw aim in CSGO aim training maps like aimbotz.

I'm sitting on one right now, and there's supposed to be something like a keyboard wrist rest shoved up underneath the mesh to cushion the forward ridge of the seat. It being missing may be why you got that good deal. Maybe something like this would be a good substitute?

It depends on a lot of things. For the longest time, I used Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 and a Logitech M570 trackball due to issues with my arms and wrists. Both are really great, but take time to get used to, especially when it comes to gaming.

And I switch between a Logitech G400 mouse, a Logitech M570 trackball, and a Logitech Marble mouse, which is also a trackball despite the name.

They keyboard is mechanical, has a very "plain" look to it, while still being beautiful, no bullshit "gaming" stuff added to it, + it has handy media keys and a volume knob I actually use.
The mouse has a very nice shape that fits comfortably in my hand and that is the only reason I got it.

I have size 18 of this. It's awesome. Perfect size for the keyboard and very, very comfortable.
I use a full sized wrist rest with my TKL boards. I use the extra space on the right for my mouse. Works great.
I would say blues may or may not bother others next to you. Why not try out your das for a day or two and see what others think?
Also, here's a review that I sent to another person asking me about the 6Gv2:
"I've only owned low-end keyboards like the standard $20 Logitechs, so I don't have much in the way of high end keyboards, but I can definitely say that I'm satisfied with my purchase.
The only "cons" are lack of macros and no backlighting. The macros aren't a big deal since you can purchase a Logitech G13 to fix that. For the backlighting, I generally always have my room lighted, so that isn't a concern for me. If it is for you, you could just buy a small desk lamp.
Just some food for thought.
Now, for the good stuff: The keys respond after pressing them down about half-way.
Another pro is a standard keyboard layout. The only major differences are the larger enter key, which moves the backslash to the left of the right shift, thus making the right shift smaller. I don't notice much of a difference with this, but if you're a programmer, it could take some getting used to.
The other difference is the Windows key, which I'm sure you know of. It's on the right side, so if you use Windows shortcuts a lot, especially in Windows 8, you'll have to get used to that. Other than those two things, everything else is "standard."
The etching on the keys tends to fade a bit after a few weeks of use, but they still look fine to me. It's really just the WASD keys for me that look faded, but again, it isn't that big of a deal.
It doesn't require drivers, which is cool, and it's just as simple as plug-and-play. This is pretty convenient for me when I take it over to my friend's house.
Although it's a USB keyboard, it comes with a PS2 adapter, so it has full anti-ghosting. If you want to press 104 keys in a Word document for fun, you can, and they will all register.
And it comes with Cherry Blacks, which you can read up here.
So overall, I would definitely recommend this keyboard. It has some flaws, but none that actually affect its performance. It's all aesthetic really. You can find it on Amazon for $85, which is a good deal for me.

Browns and Blues are very different as they are tactile(browns) and clicky(Blues) not linear like reds, they are both pretty light switches as well, are you sure you don't want something slightly stiff like clears(tactile) or blacks(linear) because if you get browns or blues you might continue to accidentally holding down keys. .

Gel wrist rests are by far the most comfortable, as they mould/yield to your wrist. I have one and it works great.

What's wrong with a wrist rest? Why would you want to cover the entire desk when the only part that should be uncomfortable would be the edges?
You may want to invest in one of these.
See a doctor, make sure your hands are below your shoulders not above. Sit with good posture, don't slouch. Stretch your wrists, fingers and hands between games. Unless you are a pro gamer I also recommend a wrist pad, it's kept me from ever getting a gaming injury. I use this one!

It is pretty nice, more solid than squishy but has some give to it, and is very durable construction. its 0.8 inches thick so it might not be thick enough for you.

The first one gives more height than i need so i am not using it all.
The second one levels my wrist completely. Its ergonomic heaven for my case at least. If your hand is small i recommend the second one. It isn't gel type but it has like beans inside i think buckwheat which feels better for my wrist. Its a try and error process until you find the one with the best results

Check out the rests from Grifiti. They come in various lengthus and help get your hand in better position. I have a few and sometimes I even stack two to get my wrists super elevated.
I know this one is recommended around here. An alternative would be a wooden one such as this filco one. I have seen some options pop up on massdrop (such as this one) as well if that is a buying option for you.
A wrist rest keeps me comfortable when I'm using the computer for extended periods of time.
I also use these headphone holders, they are cheap and mount with doublesided tape, and they'll hold just about any headphones you can find.
Another thing that many people don't think about, but can make a massive difference, is monitor placement. VESA Arm mounts are great for having monitors placed where you want them, while also letting you shift them around when you need to.
I'm not going to say a wrist rest will solve all of your problems, but I have a Ducky Zero and it does sit a bit high. I got this wrist pad and it all feels a lot better. Granted, I don't have the Shine 3, but I have used it and with this pad it feels great. It may or may not solve your problems, but give it a shot as well as inverting the spacebar. I've never had that problem, I guess I hit the spacebar different than you, but we all type differently.

Now, I'm not sure about the strafe, but my original K70 wrist rest fits on my K70 LUX. It's a little looser than the one that came with the K70 LUX, but it still works. Maybe see if you can find the replacement wrist rest from somewhere that's easy to return it to. Try it, see if it works, return if it doesn't. Not sure how I can help other than this, but good luck!
There are mousepads that are designed for your keyboard and mouse so that both go on top. Then for wrist rests you can buy those seperate like from grifiti

The one linked above it much stiffer and higher up than the Grifiti pads. The Grifiti pads are cheaper and are a much better pad. Only downside is that they aren't stitched like the one above.

Hmm that was an interesting study to read. I'm not sure if it makes any difference, but it seems like that study was focused mainly on the ergonomics of using mice. I know some mouse pads themselves come with wrist rests, typically made out of that silicon material. However, i'm just talking about keyboard wrist rests.
It would have been interesting to see this study being done on subjects using a keyboard, both with and without a wrist rest (i'm sure there is such a study, somewhere..not going to bother with trying to dig one up at this moment). A keyboard requires much more work from one's hands so I could assume that a wrist rest would help alleviate someone who maybe works for long hours at a time at a keyboard that doesn't already provide some sort of angled wrist support.
From personal experience-- I've had a co-worker who is an avid PC gamer and always uses his K65 compact mechanical keyboard which comes equipped with a rubberized (or some sort of softer plastic) slope for support.
At our job, we need to be using a computer at all times. The keyboards provided to us there have absolutely no support for the wrist. He began to complain of feeling strain on his wrists, and bought himself one of these, and hasn't complained since.
So it's a bit tough to say, but I feel like there's a lot of factors. For some people it could work and for others, maybe not.

In general, people misuse wrist rests. You shouldn't constantly set your wrists on the pad; instead, use it every now and then to give them a rest. Ideally, you should be "floating" over the keyboard. I'm typing this post at a standing desk, and I have my keyboard positioned such that my wrists hang over empty space.

after about a couple months or so of use you can see the surface layer peeling on the bottom left of the pic, so if you want something you can use a long, long time probably not for you, but they're relatively cheap so getting one every 4 months or so wouldn't dig into the wallet too bad. I just flip it to the other side when I use it, I reoriented just for the pic.
performance-wise, it's awesome, doesn't make my hands sweaty, stay still really well, elevates the wrists to a good height; typing without it is uncomfortable now

If you're seeking a cheap wrist rest, I suggest a Grifiti wrist rest. If you're in no hurry you could try buying a larger one + mouse rest in Massdrop's current group buy, or wait for the mini wrist rest to come around again.

I ended up buying it from Amazon. The layout is US, and the top row of keys have some kind of scratch in the same place almost like when you twist plastic from plastic when building model kits? But either way the keyboard is amazing and it was £20 cheaper than the other ones listed in the UK Layout.

I'm using a 60% rest cut in half too. Works great. I also have this laying around. 17"x8" gives a lot of room to cut custom shapes if you're into that.

For me, the feel is good. A bit mushy for about a week, but afterwards, if you can touch type, I'd say its perfect. The bumps do help a TON with tactility. As a high school senior, I've only written a couple long session papers on this but from my experience its really awesome. If i have one recommendation for this board for typing, i'd say get a wrist rest since it sits high in my opinion. I got the Grifiti fat wristrest and now I can game and type for hours. (: About 3 months into this combination and i really like it.

I would highly recommend getting a grifiti wrist rest for it. It fits perfectly with this keyboard form factor and makes typing a lot more comfortable.
I haven't used that one specifically, but I have been using this one recently, and I like it pretty well. I had one of those generic gel ones before, and it also worked well.

If you want a TKL I have the Ducky Zero with reds for gaming and I'm very happy with it. Blue switches are probably nicer but we decided we're gonna go for the quieter ones for now (my partner has a Ducky Shine 3 with browns, those are really nice as well). If you don't need a number pad I would highly recommend a TKL, it's very comfortable and saves a surprising amount of space on your desk.
I would recommend this keyboard and this wrist pad - it comes a bit over £100 but it's well worth it. Or if OCUK has some deals running grab something else, the reviews are quite good there.

Same here, only thing I'd say is a real negative about this keyboard is the lack of an included wrist rest. I'll be ordering this wrist rest soon to fix this issue.
The cutout is to bring you closer in, so your work surface wraps around you. Usually, it means the mouse is within easier reach. I gather you can't adjust your armrests down or back? If not, your options are:
(1) replace the work surface on your desk

As for the suggestions: are there any good 'standard' keyboards with a more traditional layout? Smaller size is fine as the argument for them makes a lot of sense, but I kinda just don't like any of the super ergonomic ones with unique designs. I dig that this is terrible reasoning for not getting them, and if I talk to a doctor and they suggest I do that for real, I will likely do it, but for now maybe something a little more normalized would be cool.
EDIT: Really digging this guy. I think working on proper posture, having never known that parallel arm positioning was contributing to the problem... my left arm tends to lean at a 45 degree angle inward when I game, which is likely why that arm/hand tends to hurt. Maybe I could get something like this to go along with it.

I've used this everyday for over 6 months now and it's holding up well. One of my favorite purchases, having so much space for my mouse hand is great for competitive FPS games.
Mouse - Zowie EC1-A
This mouse is the real deal. Great responsiveness, feels great in my hand, a button with 4 DPI settings that I can't accidentally press in the middle of play, and no annoying software to install. Very simple with just 5 buttons.
Keyboard - Corsair Vengeance K65 Mechanical
Wasn't my first choice of keyboard, but I have no regrets. Keys feel great with red switches, although it's very loud without any dampeners. Recommend o-rings if you have an open mic.
Wrist Rest - Glorious Gaming
Despite the cringey name, they seem to have a decent reputation for their products, and though I've had mine for a short time, it's lasted well and has been very comfortable. I was unsure of the thickness at first, but I find I prefer a thicker wrist rest.
Headphones - Superlux HD681 EVO
I'm not anything close to an audiophile, so I can't comment too much on the sound. They're plenty loud enough, and sound decent enough to me. More importantly, for me anyway, is their durability and comfortability. They've lasted me nearly 2 years now and the foam pieces are only just starting to crack and wear down with heavy use. They even included a spare pair, which I haven't felt the need to use yet. They're great to use for extended periods of time as well. They don't start to bother me unless they're not sitting right, or I've just spent too long at the computer.
Microphone - Zalman Zm-Mic1
Has a 10ft wire and is under $10. It's kind of hard to beat, as far as mics go. Very durable, mine is 5 years old. I even spilled rum and coke in it once, still works fine. The sound quality is rather lacking, but that's to be expected from a mic this cheap.

The two wrist rests essentially cover the entire width of my keyboard and mouse so my wrists are always on an elevated, padded surface. It's a bit overkill but I rarely have any wrist pain anymore.

What are your mouse settings? Do you have a mouse that allows you to control your DPI?
As someone else mentioned, try gripping your mouse differently. Instead of holding it how you would when normally using your PC you can hold the back of your mouse as you won't need to actually click the mouse buttons.

You can already angle/spin and space the koolertron however you want to really, it just doesn't have tall stands to tilt it much sideways. I'd highly recommend some good wrist pads for it though. I use a stiff flat 1/2 wrist pad in front of all three of the "half keyboards" I use as well as a black bean bag one in front of my mechanical blue num pad. wrist pads That way I am on the same level with the base of my palms and my fingers are above the keyboards. The thing that really busts up people's wrists is that regular one piece keyboards are straight instead of two halves which can be angled with their arm to wrist alignment. Bad keyboard alignment ends up bending the outer wrists inward > < instead of pointing your hands in line with your arms / \. I keep my keyboards spread apart enough and and angled enough that I'm not crimping my wrists. With the pads and freedom of spacing and angle I have I don't feel the need to tilt the keyboards sideways or make them concave or convex.
So I have zero issues with the koolertron spaced comfortably while using the aforementioned wrist pads and with enough desk space to place them properly so I wouldn't consider the ergodox a linear upgrade but rather a parallel preference option, at least to me. The ergodox is more expensive for sure at $300 - $360 but that doesn't necessarily make it better. The koolertron was $168 + the custom keycaps were another $35, plus the 2 wrist pads were $14 each so for the split keyboard typing portion of my setup came to about $235 + tax. Besides that, I game on a mx red koolertron macro gaming sideboard + use action keys on a reddragon mmo mouse, and I have a mx blue keys num pad.

I used to use a ms ergo 4k at one monitor which wasn't too bad ergonomically but wasn't mechanical, and I had a g19 gaming keyboard at one point but that wasn't great ergonomically. The Koolertron is way more comfortable than "gaming keyboards" and laptop keyboards, and the gaming 1/2 board has more keys than my g13 did and is mechanical keys (mx reds). The ergodox doesn't look bad though, especially in black so looks like another good option but I am extremely happy with the koolertron stuff personally.
Kind of a long shot, but does anyone know if these (or any other Ergodox wrist rest) will work with my RGBKB Zen?

So far it's been great! I think I got a great deal on it ($70 on Amazon).
My first observation is that I need a wrist rest otherwise it hurts my wrists after a few minutes from the angle I have to raise them. I bought this one today but for now, I'm using a folded hand towel.
Another thing I have to get used to is how I type. I guess I have developed a rabbit of hitting keys fast/hard and it's very noticeable (and loud) on this keyboard. However, over the course of the day, I have improved on that a lot.
So far I love it! It makes my wrists hurt but that's just until I get my wrist rest.
Overall I'm very happy with it.

Because I got this question yesterday, I'll go ahead and address it. I moved from retail to work for a good friend of my family. He owns a local business that's been around since the late 1930s, and was started by his grandfather. I know it’s nothing high performance, fast, or crazy expensive, but the desktop and monitors came with the job, so I can’t complain too much. Please ignore the mess of wiring underneath. It was set up when they gave me my office, so I didn’t get to run things like I would have. We will be relocating soon, and with that, I’ll make things look much cleaner. Hopefully, I’ll be upgrading soon to something not running Windows 7 Professional, and something not this, because this can barely even run photoshop without crashing the graphics card. Oh well!

No wrist rest with good posture is the best, palms should be in the air. I used to have some problems with my wrists a lot and these wrist rests helped me. Idk if you use one but putting on some braces when the pain comes up could maybe help too

I just recieved this one yesterday and i am extremly satisfied with it. I was already used to resting my wrist/pads on a wooden desk, so it wasn't a change for me. The material, despite being wood, is actually more comfortable than my actually wooden desk, wich was a nice surprise. In addition to that looks premium aswell. But beware that the Onyx one doesnt actually looks like the picture one, instead it's more or less a hard to describe half matte black. If you would be intrested i could provide a picture. Overall the perfect wrist wrest for my use case.
