360 wired and still works like a champ. Play it with Clone Hero sometimes. That's wild that ol' hunk of plastic is worth money.

I just looked it up on Amazon. Wtf?!

http://www.amazon.com/Batarang-Wired-Controller-Xbox-360/dp/B005761JFW

I'll recommend this baby. I picked it up on a whim, and it's the best controller I have ever used.

u/Jbidz · 16 pointsr/gaming

My brother uses what is basically a Bluetooth wii nunchuck in one hand and a mouse on the other. Pretty awesome, even has a programmable motion control key!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0052RLMGM?vs=1

Don't bother with the mouse, it's horrible. But that nunchuck coupled with a mouse with a few extra buttons does wonders for PC games

u/Chaos20X6 · 9 pointsr/JojoHFTF

i heard someone won a tourney with a SNES pad, so anything with a d-pad focus and a diamond of face buttons that you find comfy.

Ideally you're gonna want to look for Xbox pads just cause they'll natively work on Windows. Personally I'm pretty new to non-Smash fighting games in general, Jojo included, but I've been using this MadCatz pad and it feels really nice in the hands, plus you can find it cheaper than the $30 US of this listing.

u/kryptseeker · 6 pointsr/Morrowind

I would just go on craigslist and find a computer around that price.

You can probably get a core 2 duo (like 8+ year old PC) for around $80.

You can really go cheap on a new controller with this thing: https://www.amazon.com/Generic-Wired-Controller-Microsoft-System/dp/B01J7TBIL4/

Go on reviews though. 10-15$ for a controller won't get a very good one. Modern console controllers are usually 40$+, even original Microsoft 360 controllers are around $30.

Not exactly sure what "television cable" means but I assume you mean HDMI: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-High-Speed-HDMI-Cable-Standard/dp/B014I8SSD0/

I would recommend getting a newer computer though, save up another 200-300 dollars.

Also, vanilla MW won't work very well with a controller. I'd recommend openMW

And forget using any overhauls, they won't work very well with a computer this old I would think.

u/FridayInc · 5 pointsr/rally

This is an afterglow 360 controller, it's a wired USB replica of a standard Microsoft 360 controller that works automatically on any windows PC. It is $27 and will make you infinitely better than using your keyboard.

u/YMB9Shinzou · 4 pointsr/dbfz

Ummm what system is it you are playing on because any stick you can get that worked with all 3 is most likely going to be very expensive.

Edit: I see you said about your XBO pad not being responsive so I am going to assume you are playing on that. If you are playing on XBO then you should get a stick that works with that and then it will work also on PC.

I don't think with the lack of fighting games that the XBO has a great choice of sticks but this would maybe be a good buy https://www.amazon.com/HORI-Arcade-Pro-V-Fighting-Stick-Windows/dp/B0136JP894/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_63_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=B0XQTT2R8RGPQ2H77E7E

Personally though I have big hands and find that the stick and buttons are slightly too close on the Hori stick so if you're the same and want something with weight to it I'd go for this https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Atrox-Arcade-Gaming-Controller-Designed/dp/B00LYYNZ30?th=1

Both are quite pricy but if you are really committed to playing fighting games on stick it'll save you money overall because a really budget stick you will quickly outgrow or wear out... or put your fist through.

u/hneeor · 3 pointsr/pcgaming

Cancel your order/contact your bank and get a refund. I'd recommend this controller. It has a lot of bad reviews but I've had it since December and use it to play Dark Souls and co-op with my girlfriend and have had no issues. It might not be the best for FPS games because it's not accurate like a mouse but as long as you handle it delicately, it should be fine.

Awesome thanks for all the responds guys!
im probably going to try it on PC and see how it plays maybe end up getting it for both.
looking into getting that new Tekken 7 Hori fightstick. i really like the black one thats meant for PS4 but since dont have a PS4 im kinda stuck getting the white one unless i only play on PC or just get a brooks super converter. i also noticed that the PS4 tekken fightstick has a few more features like Turbo that the xbox one version does not.

Power-A Fus1on. Get it before it goes back to retail. It's a fantastic pad that I've had no troubles with. I can't get used to regular 360 sticks after these, though. The sticks are really wide.

Identical to the xbox 360 wired controller.

You can get them at gamestop & bestbuy too.

u/furyofpandas · 2 pointsr/SoulCalibur

So when Tekken 7 came out, I super enjoyed it and purchased the Hori Tekken 7 fight stick (https://www.amazon.com/Arcade-Hayabusa-Tekken-Officially-Licensed-Microsoft/dp/B019ZDL970), as I similarly had thought that it would improve my inputs, and frankly I just thought it looked cool (all the streamers I watched at that point had them). The thing I wished I had considered more at the time, is that the transition from playing from a pad to playing on a fight stick, is a much bigger transition than I had expected, and a significant time commitment. Unlike other places in the world where there is still an active arcade scene (where people play more in an arcade than at home, so they want to help replicate the arcade experience at home with a fight stick), here in the US, the arcade scene died out a long time ago, so in general, most people have played with a controller almost their entire lives. So if you do purchase a fight stick, during the learning phase, you will take a big step back from where you are now, just as you won't be able to rely on your lifetime of controller experience and will literally need to start learning to play again from step one. It's not so much like changing from an xbox controller to a playstation controller, it's more similar to moving from a controller to a keyboard and mouse. So while I don't regret my purchase, and have declined offers from friends to buy it, after about a 100 hours of using a fight stick, I went back to a controller. Of course, this is just my own experience, and many, many people are able to transition much easier and end up preferring and being better with a fight stick, so your experience may be totally different from my own, but since it is a decent amount of money to buy a decent fight stick, I wanted to share my own experience to maybe help with your decision.

u/XprojectbadassX · 2 pointsr/pcgaming

It's nice to see two comments to this already and neither are flaming you for using a controller on PC. Maybe the war is over. I got a [gold chrome Xbox 360 controller] (http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Controller-Gold-Chrome/dp/B00EFRNG0A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416105134&sr=8-1&keywords=gold+chrome+xbox+360+controller&pebp=1416105135571) on sale last year and have been using it for all of my controller-worthy games. The only drawback is that you need a [wireless receiver] (http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2), but other than that, it's perfect.

I use a Rock Candy Controller that I got on sale at best buy for like $15, and it's working great.

u/TheKillingVoid · 2 pointsr/Team_Awesome

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. I'm not for it and I think it's a waste of time. Been there, tried them, found it a waste of money too. Xbox controls aren't architected to make a mouse useful at all, so an interpreter only 'approximates' a melding of the two, which makes it worse than either in my book. This thing is new on the market and likely sucks even more than the Xim, which is on rev3. As this touts to need 'no firmware', I'm positive that it will suck, due to the dead zone and x/y tweaks that are required for Xim to work correctly between every game released. BC2, Halo, COD, etc each required an adjustment scheme to just get your pointer to move correctly due to programming. Up/down vs left/right movement on BC2 is different even than BF3. Different game, different profile, giant pain in the ass even when it didn't make me nauseaus. An xbox is always the same, and your mind does the adjustments, even with beer.

Hell, read the Amazon reviews yourself, it's got lot's of meh going on, and a fail clip to boot.

If it was a significant advantage, it would be more prevalent, banned, or obvious. (If it's a 'marginal' benefit, so is RedBull, glasses, pot and coffee.) As the evidence points in the opposite direction, I feel it's a waste of breath arguing about it too. It gets pc players on their xbox, chatting with their friends, hence Micro$oft isn't against taking their money.

By the same token, I find all the xbox vs pc hoopla gets in the way of discussing actual strategy too. Then too, judging TA by the top posts isn't wise anyway. At least they're not all about kittens.

u/radiorental · 2 pointsr/PS4

hori SCV stick with all sanwa parts is still on sale for 100$, http://www.amazon.com/HORI-Xbox-360-Soulcalibur-Arcade-Stick/dp/B006TC57WO/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1343938045&sr=1-2&keywords=hori+soul+calibur+v+stick it was 89.99$ a week ago or something, but I can't seem to find a link to that one. This one and the SFxTekken madcatz stick constantly go on sale for around 90-100$ and are top notch quality.

u/Zeig_101 · 1 pointr/patientgamers

There's always these: http://www.amazon.com/Afterglow-Wired-Controller-Xbox-360-Green/dp/B00EZKNSTQ

They just require a bit of manual setup in the way of forcing it to use the microsoft xb360 controller drivers, as windows doesn't automatically recognize it as an xb360 controller sometimes. Only have to do it once.

u/PoverOn · 1 pointr/hotas

This "HOTAS" cost ~$65 = same of T.16000M stick alone (this use HALL sensor in X, Y axes), so need be made more cheap = >$0.10 potentiometers in all axes, low frequency USB controller (85 mhz), that even is not recognized by Thrustmaster TARGET software, is a "poor cousin".

Work, but is the classic "you get what you pay".

Anyway if you need a HOTAS for X-Box the only other option is HORI Hotas Flight Stick (+$10), that at least looks better. :))

u/Masark · 1 pointr/EliteDangerous

I'm aware of one alternative, but it's much more expensive and is apparently horrible.

u/7oby · 1 pointr/xbox360

Whoa what? If your Toys R Us has them I suggest you buy them out and put them on Amazon, where they start at $160 new.

(And sell me one for much less because I have helped you make hundreds)

u/zaqintosh · 1 pointr/gaming

So I'll probably generate hate from this, but I'm a PC player turned ps4 owner, I could not stand FPSs with the native ps4 controller (it just feels like throwing a baseball with my bad hand in terms metaphorical accuracy) and ended up getting this mouse / controller for ps4: https://www.amazon.com/Tuact-Venom-Supreme-Mouse-Controller/dp/B00MLXZGNK/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1478801971&sr=8-7&keywords=ps4+mouse

You have to turn off auto aim, and it works well enough on most ps4 games. That said, I've since upgraded my PC and will not likely play anymore FPS games on console... Witcher 3 (and similar style games) on console is fun for me just using the regular native controller.

u/AcousticColors · 1 pointr/EliteDangerous

Yeah, this one

And that's it. That and the Thrustmaster you've got (I've got that one, too) are the only ones that exist right now.

u/drterdsmack · 1 pointr/xboxone

I always wondered if one of these was worth it.

u/NerdyTyler · 1 pointr/GuitarHero
u/lordgiraffe68 · 1 pointr/darksouls

Will they work? Yes. Though it's a SIN to pay that much. I've been using these bad boys for years now. You should be able to pick one up at any decent game store (I've even seen them at wallmart) Never bought one online but 30 USD on amazon is about what they normally go for.

On my 360 I use the keyboard controller attachment to input the codes. I do it just because it's faster and easier. I've never done any of those first come, first serve codes. I don't think they are even on 'old-gen'.

u/beanBea · 1 pointr/pcgaming

It's a third party wired XBOX 360 controller. FUS1ON tournament controller. The box has a website on it: www.PowerA.com

It was $27 at best buy.

I'm looking at picking up my first arcade stick and after searching I am looking at these 3:

  • www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00654FCCG/
  • www.amazon.co.uk/Hori-Officially-Licensed-Calibur-Fight/dp/B006TC57WO/

I play on PC so I like the third one most for compatibility reasons, but I am not 100% sure which has the highest quality parts or even if they're all the same. I have an intel chipset so a PS3 stick SHOULD work without problems and if the PS3 sticks I linked are higher quality then I will nut up and go for one of them.
u/Liquidska · 1 pointr/AskGames

Steam Controller and for multiplayer a Rock Candy 360 controller. Will eventually just pick up a second steam but the rock candy has been solid for about 3-4 years now!

u/Burmi4Breakfast · 1 pointr/darksouls

I'm using Afterglow xbox 360 controller and playing the game on pc (steam) no emu.

u/HudasOneThree · 1 pointr/Tekken

Gotta look at it in a business sense. So the companies of course will make products for the bigger market so it will sell easier, which someone mentioned Sony have more fighting games than M$ does. That said, having those sticks exclusive doesn't mean much considering not everyone are fans of those designs. And if you are a tourney traveler and you also play on many systems, it may be in your best interest to put a Brooks all-in-one board.

The HORI RAP N is actually offered for the Xbone. It is just sold as a theme for T7. Razer may have given Sony the Panthera but Xbox always had the trusty Atrox.

You should have been around during the PS3/X360 days. Situation was hella reversed. Many of the FGs ran better on the X360 so they ran tourneys on them. Meaning you needed your sticks to be compatible for that. Or in some cases people just used a Brooks board anyway.

u/Direwar · 1 pointr/starcitizen

There's the fragfx nunchuk thing too, but I've never tried it. I actually sometimes use a nunchuk myself (with a wiimote too), so yeah they can be handy at times.

u/TerminalBrilliance · 1 pointr/battlefield3

Though it'd be quite a few notes more, I've considered buying one of these for myself (I got my Xbox 360 for free and have no desire to go back to PC gaming, though that's what I grew up on...).

u/C4RB0N · 1 pointr/Tekken

I went all out and got the new Hori Tekken 7 stick. Never had a fight stick before but it seems like this is a decent choice. Supposedly the black one with the Mishima artwork will work on PC as well, I just like this one better.

Until my stick arrives I'll be using the less than ideal 360 controller.

No letter 'M', but I thought this Golden Xbox 360 controller is pretty tight.

I'd like one month of gold because I've never had it and would just like to see what it's all about. Fun contest!

I'd prefer platinum-190

Edit: THANKS FOR THE GOLD! I'm excited to play around with it. :-D

u/ZimZader · 1 pointr/Kappa

I don't know why you are buying two but I would suggest getting a quality stick for both even if it costs a little extra. A Madcatz TE stick is probably the best way to go for your first stick. You don't want your first experience to be with a piece of trash.

I personally prefer Hori for the bulkier feel (I really love my Hori one.)

If you are going to go to local tournaments then you should probably get a Qanba since they are dual modded straight out of the box. They are like a higher quality TE IMO.

There will probably be some mad deals around Evo. I would wait until then.

u/crankpatate · 1 pointr/Guildwars2

[EDIT] Sorry for the big wall of text. Maximum compression of content: No real disadvantages. if you're EU, we can meet in game. I can try send you my steam controller config and give you my GW2 settings in game.

Oh sorry, wasn't @ home this weekend. Sorry for the late answer.

Yes, of course I still have a kb around for typing / chatting (but only because that chatpad AddOn for the controller doesn't work on PC for some reason! D: )

I also still have a mous near me, because I for sure need it to controll my PC while not in game. And I sometimes use it to win at inventory wars. It's faster and more comfortable to fix a big cluttered inventory and for longer crafting sessions at the crafting stations. But for quick fixing while running in a zerg, I use gamepad.

Placing AoE skills in fight isn't rly hard with gamepad & activated action cam. If you've ever played a shooter with a gamepad you'll be able to aim that AoE's. If you want to play a heavy ground targetted class, like condi necro with staff, there's an additional option to lock ground targetted skills on your target. This way you'll cast ground targetted skills directly on top of your target without having to aim at all.

I'm mainly playing Warrior (PvE, WvW - zerg and roaming), Revenant (WvW - zerg and roaming) and Guardian (Fractals - only T2, but working on it). If you'd face me in wvw roaming I'd definitly be one of the better players you'd fight against. There's rly no real disadvantage for pure PvE and only veeeeeeeeeeeery minimal for PvP:

  • Having to aim ground targetted skills, which is slightly harder than with MK. But this only rly affect you, with skills that need to be casted very quick and very precise. For example there are possible trick stomps with thief against thiefs downed escape, using Shadow step to TP on top of them after they use their downed skill 2 to get away from your stomp. You also have it harder to cast skills uphill on top of a plateau. If the terrain step is too high, you struggle to place it correctly. But this is again not gamepad related, but an issue of action cam (but with gamepad controlls you rly rly want to use that action cam). This issue is not THAT rare, but usually only occures at situations where you don't have any preasure anyways.
  • Revenant-Shiro phase traversal can't be cast on targets out of range, while in action cam, for some reason. For this issue I added a button to my "menu controlls-layer". I'd switch into these controlls, push button and swapp back to combat controlls for it to work. This also isn't rly a weakness of gamepad, but a disadvantage of using action cam. (I did report this as a bugg, because this is definitly not how Anet want it to work)

But on the other hand, I've figured some rly funny interactions, that may offer advantages in combat! ;)

You can make some sort of "zig-zag" leaps if you have action cam active and disabled autotargetting. Using a leap skill like Bulls Charge or Warrior GS skill 5, will give you the option to run into a "wrong direction" (no target locked) and then make a quick turn by locking on your target mid rush. Looks super goofy and maybe kinda unintended, but I had people go like "W.T.F." when I "run away" from them and then make a quick 180 back and hitt them in the face. Or dodging an AoE by running sideways and turn on them mid dash.

    ------------

Keep in mind GW2 has an exceptional amount of controll options in game. You can - if you want to - turn ranged DPS classes into a shooter like gameplay, by turning off auto targetting & turning on action cam. You can also enable first person for cam = FPS. Or you can reposition the cam slightly to left / right = 3rd person "over the shoulder"-shooter. Enabling action cam in generall turns GW2 into a console game expierience. Turning it off will change it more into a MOBA (but with cam locked on your hero).

    ------------

If you're EU, we can also meet up in game if you want to. I can show you, that I'm not crippled by playing with a gamepad and we could chatt in real time. Would also make it easier to explain you all the GW2 settings I use and how I configurated the controlls in game. And maybe we can figure out how I can send you my controller config in steam.
