Hi! I also have chronic pain/am disabled. I play Steam games with an Xbox One controller with the Windows 10 wireless adapter. (I tried the Steam Controller but it was bulky, not intuitive, and I basically hated it. lol. YMMV.)

I have my tower sitting in this cabinet, which I covered with this film to keep everything hidden. My husband cut out the back of the cabinet to install a fan / make room for the cables to come out of the back.

We used these cord covers to keep everything neat.

I use this wall-mounted swing arm from Amazon for my monitor. I push it toward the wall when I am done. (I put my chair/station in the corner for this to work.)

I sit in an IKEA Poang chair with ottoman, using this lower lumbar cushion and this coccyx cushion.

I use this mouse arm on the Poang chair, these cushions for my elbows, and a beanbag rest for my wrist (for when I have to use the mouse).

My keyboard sits on a shelf beside me and I pull it onto a lap desk (stored under my chair) for when I need to use it.

I also have a wall mount for my Xbox One controller.

I hope that helps! It took me a long time to get something together that keeps my living room still looking like a living room. :)

Thanks, here is a link to the mounts I have if you are interested. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00448VR88/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

These are brilliant http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00448VR88#

You can bend the hooks to suit the hole in the controllers.

Amazon Link They're actually $13.95, my bad.

Wish I had a 3d printer! I actually bought like 12 of these for all my controllers. Really love them..

They are really cool! Being able to bend them makes them super versatile. Here's the link.

Not 100% sure this would work. But how about a kinect mount that attaches to your tv instead of the wall.

I see your point. However, there are already focusing lenses, monitor attachments for the kinect, and algorithm improvements to enhance the interface to be oriented towards a desktop setting.

I'm glad that someone else knows about the Leap Motion hardware. But, considering that you seem to be informed about current developments in "innovative" UI and interface designs, I am curious to hear why you feel that these particular interfaces are more prohibitive than the traditional keyboard/mouse interface.

Granted, more physical effort is exerted in order to navigate the interface, but doesn't it allow for greater agency and "natural" navigation of content? It certainly has novelty appeal, but I was convinced that this would be a technology that would stick (assuming future generations of the device would not limit or inhibit usage in a home workspace environment).

It seems to me that technology evolves first, by simulating the real world; once verisimilitude has been achieved, it evolves by revealing information inherent in the medium - not previously accessible by human experience; then by creative/artistic expression.

Kinect is still inadequately emulating the natural navigation patterns that humans use and is still evolving before the real benefits of this new UI style can be explored.

Having said this, I acknowledge that the keyboard has a particular benefit - as does the mouse (especially considering that an unaugmented Kinect is unrealistic to use for the traditional desktop environment as a replacement to the keyboard/mouse). But I wouldn't suggest that a "NUI" is more prohibitive that an interface built for keyboard/mouse controls.

It is interesting to see someone with knowledge of these devices, and the developments in their respective fields, with an opinion in opposition to my own. I'm genuinely interested in hearing if you feel that the current state of the technology is insufficient or if the NUI itself is insufficient.

I use:

Not sure if it will work for the new kinect but is works fine with the old one on a slim LCD TV. Although, I did put sticky on brackets for extra stability.

I mounted mine to the top of my TV, using this clip.

You could go old school with this Nintendo 64 24-Game Case, I need one! XP

This would be pretty cool for your controllers!

For more efficient storage these types of boxes would be perfect!

u/acondie13 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Headphone rack

Game controller holders (thinking something like this but built into the desk. Would need to be pretty universal)

Holes for cords next to the game controller holders

Arm rest for your mouse arm

Qi charging would be cool.

They are Wall Clips

u/dgtlhrt · 1 pointr/Vive

There are mountable controller holders, for all controllers that you can bend and shape. They fit the Vive controllers perfectly if you bend them in a little. it makes like a hook on the wall. https://www.amazon.com/Wall-Clip-PlayStation-Controller-Organizer-360/dp/B00448VR88/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467171006&sr=8-1&keywords=controller+wall+mount
