I have this one and i love it.
I recommend buying the $15 Legacy adapter and buy used Xbox 360 instruments separately. That should be cheaper than buying the Rock Band 4 bundle.

Not sure to be honest. When I looked at it a while ago, I figured the steam controller would be worse for me 'cause of it's layout. And I don't know anyone who has one to give it a try before buying. I have been thinking about getting the Xbone elite controller because it's so adjustable. Though it's crazy expensive for a controller.
You can still get this one. I’ve had it for years and it’s great.

[Which is nice if you have that much disposable income] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00KSQACMM/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all). The headset I linked to above was $30, mono ear (because I'm a dad I gotta have an ear for the kid) these were a god send. Not so much this generation
>Wired play on PC
>Wired or wireless play on Xbox One
No wireless receiver? Fuck that.
For what it's worth, Amazon is selling this "For Windows" pack for $5 less than just the controller.
|What games/sims are the most life like?
All of the above games are more or less the most popular games with the best physics. They all have their up and downsides. They are all miles ahead of any codemasters f1 game or forza. They also all offer the ability to drive open-wheel cars, although some games require mods or dlc to do so.
| What wheels are the best?
If you want a good xbox one compatible wheel then you're basically looking at the Thrustmaster TX. It has a really good belt driven system and has a detachable rim. The downside is you need to buy a separate set of pedals and shifter if you want to drive manual. If you want something less expensive, the best bang for your buck IMO is the Logitech G27, but it is PC/PS3 only.
|How much cost is associated with sim racing?
Well essentially you need a wheel and a game. A good wheel will set you back anywhere between $200-$700, and most games are between $20-$60.
If you want participate in competitive online racing, you are basically going to have to go with iracing. They have by far the best multiplayer. However, you have to pay a subscription fee and must buy most of the tracks/cars separately. This is where cost can get out of hand.
I have a lot of fun with a pretty basic setup, however the sky is the limit as far as spending goes. But no matter how much you do end up spending, it will be a fraction of the cost of a trackday weekend.
It is unfortunate that so many games now have such complex controls that it invariably ends up less accessible to people like us with mobility based disabilities.
One thing I would recommend, though it won't help with the games you've listed here as they're PS4 (or at least console) exclusives. Consider moving to PC gaming. I personally prefer console gaming, with PS4 being my system of choice, but the ability to change key-binding with PC makes it much more accessible. I'd also highly recommend this controller.
UK - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-One-Elite-Wireless-Controller/dp/B00ZV0NH40
USA - https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Elite-Wireless-Controller-one/dp/B00ZDNNRB8
The added flexibility this controller gives should improve your gameplay experiences.
$300? There is a used one on Amazon for $800.
Honestly, it's fucking sick, because that's just preventing people who want to start/keep playing - and buying DLC to support continuation - from actually doing so. I feel like not only is the lack of hardware slowly killing the game, but we're also part of the problem by screwing over the community. I'd likely pick up an X1 and get rolling if it weren't for the PDP wired debacle.
That being said, dude gets nearly $1k for a $10 item, more power to 'em, I guess.
An alternative which fits the Xbox controller better and was used in Microsoft Stores when demoing XCloud:

I'd highly recommend the nyko charging dock. It comes with a dock and 2 recharge packs (one for each controller). I've been using it for several months now and get plenty of battery life on both batteries.

I buy Sony TV's because I prefer the picture quality over the competition. Yesterday I ordered a Sony 65" X900F knowing full well that the Android TV experience is going to be complete garbage, just like it has been on my Sony 55" X850D.
As someone else mentioned, you can update the OS with a USB drive. But even with the latest Android OS my X850D still has a bloat-filled, laggy interface. Using ADB commands to clean it up has helped but it still lags.
I gave up on the Android TV experience over a year ago. My solution is to plug in an Xbox One X and use it with (THIS) remote. The combo of the Xbox and that remote makes the Xbox a fabulous media center. The Xbox houses all of my streaming apps (Hulu Live, HBO, Netflix, Amazon prime Video etc.) and has a very snappy/intuitive interface. And with the Xbox setup using HDMI ARC for TV and my surround sound, powering the Xbox on with the remote turns the TV/surround sound on and gives me full audio control over the surround sound. Turning the Xbox off with one click shuts everything else down as well.
With the above setup I haven't even seen the Android TV experience in over a year and honestly forget it's there.
With that said, you can accomplish essentially the same thing with the nVidia Shield, if you prefer that over Xbox. Just keep in mind that there is no Hulu Live app for Android TV, so if you use that for your live TV streaming (like I do), the nVidia Shield won't be a good solution for you.
I had a similiar issue, my old stick was naturally a little loose and hyper sensitive, so just resting my hand on it caused it to input roll because it was loose enough that the idle weight of my tiny little hands was moving it. This resulted in having to make the deadzones WAY bigger than I wanted them to be.
If you're in the market for a new controller heres some options from least to most expensive as well as amazon links for buying them.
Xbox 360 Pad: $28
Steam Controller: $50
T-Flight HOTAS X: $50
Xbox One Controller + Wireless PC Adapter: $63
Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS HOTAS: $108
Xbox One Elite Controller: $140
X-52: $150
Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS: $449
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Okay with the all in one box stuff out of the way there are some good mix and match options from CH Products which I'll list below. My current set up is CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Pedals, + HTC Vive for headtracking (or ED Tracker for headtracking when I don't want VR)
CH Flightstick: $75
CH Combatstick: $94
CH Fighterstick: $116
CH Flight Sim Yoke: $120
CH Pro Pedals: $121
CH Pro Throttle: $123
CH Eclipse Yoke: $201
Also note that the joysticks and throttles from the Thrustmaster FCS and Warthog can be bought separately making them worth considering as options here.
FINALLY I will leave you with a word of warning. The Saitek X-55 and X-56 might look tempting, but they have shoddy build quality and will break on you. I used to have an X-55, and I've seen the inside of the X-56 and they both have the same problems. They are a time bomb, do not buy them. Also someone will more than likely eventually comment saying they own one of these devices and have had zero issues out of them, lucky them I hope they never have an issue, but Saitek is known for terrible Quality Control and with the exception of the X-52 buying a Saitek product is not worth the gamble even though Logitech now owns them and is known for great build quality, there are too many items from when Mad Catz owned them floating around in the wild.
the PDP Talon has been working wonders for me tbh, it may not be the original but its pretty damn good

Buy the PDP Talon one. Less than half the price and works just as well if not better.

The back of this is a little wonky. I have my Chromecast plugged into my Xbox. I use the travel router to turn my University public wifi into a personalized hotspot so I can use my Chromecast and Chromecast audio (with aweseome Castdock speaker). I use a Monoprice HMDI pigtail to have my Xbox and Chromebox HDMI cords both to the right monitor and switch between the two when I need to.

EDIT: Sorry, I just copied some links for this guy in a haste. Didn't realise he just wanted to ask some dumbass questions to paint me as a liar. There is a link for an Xbox directly from Amazon with a game too for only $2 more.
I don't own one so I can only speak from what I've read on the XB1 subreddit and reviews on sites like Amazon
As a G27 owner (same internals as G29), get a Thrustmaster TX. It's cheaper and uses a belt drive system instead of the inferior gear system Logitech has used since mid 2000s.

I've been using these for 2/3 years, love them. Comfortable as hell, great sound quality, removable headset adapter piece worth the price alone for using any future headsets/ear buds he may get
To begin with, I'd rate most TV sound experiences ~ 3/10.
If you're on a budget, for less than $50 the Xbox One Stereo Headset will get you omnidirectional sound and enchance you're experience quite a bit. I'd rate the sound experience 6/10. https://amzn.com/B00IAVDQCK
If you can spend $100, buy the Cloud II's. They're considered HiFi and they're amazing quality. Sound experience 8/10. https://amzn.com/B00SAYCXWG
If you can spend $230, buy the Cloud II's and the MixAmp Pro TR, which gives you access to 7.1 Surround Sound and maximizes the Cloud II's potential. Phenomenal sound experience 11/10. https://amzn.com/B014H2YSEK
I am speaking from my own personal experience with each.
Actually, the WT kit should work with RB4 if you have the MadCatz legacy adapter. (https://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Legacy-Game-Controller-Adapter/dp/B01541ACLQ)

"In stock but may require an extra 1-2 days to process." You're welcome.
This one is WAAAAY better and only costs $20.
It's a controller standard for iOS devices that allows developers to easily add support for a wide range of gamepads that adhere to that standard. In the bad old days, developers would have to specifically code their games to recognize each individual model of gamepad they wanted to support, so most didn't even bother. There are a bunch of different MFi controllers out there now, but IMO the best one is the SteelSeries Nimbus. It doesn't have a clip for holding your phone, but clips designed for the Xbox One controller will usually work okay with the Nimbus. I got one from AliExpress a while back that I don't think is available there anymore, but this one appears to be identical.
It isn't rechargeable as the standard. It will require 2 AA batteries like the 360 controller. You can purchased a plug and charge kit for about 25 dollars that will come with a recharging battery pack. In the box I assume it will come with a set of AA's to get you going.
Also to note though that the connection to charge your controller will be a standard micro usb connection, so you can use your controller as a wired controller without batteries if you are so inclined to do so. I am not sure if the micro usb cable is included, but if you have ever owned a smart phone (besides the iphone) in the last 3 or 4 years I am sure you have one lying around.
Edit: added source
I have the energizer one. It works like a dream. The stand comes with 2 rechargeable batteries and battery covers. The controllers slide on and charge easily. No more plugging into USB and wires everywhere. Great purchase.

You'd be better off watching YouTube reviews of these various products.
None of which might fit great now that the rubber on your controller is actually falling apart. Might require some hot glue or something else if you want them to stay in place.
A lot of people eventually switch to xbox style sticks, not just because the material doesn't fall apart but because it's actually a much better design. These compared to the DS4 sticks is night and day in terms of control and your thumb not sliding all over the place.
http://www.amazon.com/GAMING%C2%AE-Original-Xbox-Controller-Analogue-Thumbsticks/dp/B00JQX91HU/
Not that hard to install. Hardest thing about taking the controller apart is getting the shell separated for the first time and the fact that the triggers and springs might fall out, so just work on a clean table where you'll be able to find the little springs. Watch videos on how to take it apart.
Get the Xbox One thumbsticks. They are really nice!

Not really. The adapter provides superior sound quality.

What system you play on is beside the point. Let's see what we can plan out for you.
I'm basing this off of your other comment's projected budget, $500 - $1000.
__
First and foremost, your wheel and pedals. Whether you start with your cockpit/wheelstand or wheel is mostly up to preference, but I'd start with a wheel first, since a wheel clamped to a desk with pedals on a floor is the minimum of simracing, whilst a rig with no wheel is just a glorified gaming seat. Plus, what you get first sets the budget of what comes after it, and I wouldn't prioritize an expensive rig over a good wheel.
Anyway, where you go from here pretty much depends on how much you're looking to spend. If your budget is $500 - $1000 and you're looking to get a whole setup going, I'd keep the wheel+pedal spending to $500 or less. This will leave you with a decent amount of wiggle room for rigs and accessories. All of the suggested wheels are compatible with Xbox One.
_____
Wheels and Pedals
A budget wheel if there ever was one. It's by no means a bad wheel, for $200. It has reasonably strong FFB and similar build to its more expensive counterpart, the TX. Though with a brushed motor and belt-gear hybrid system, it's not as strong nor as smooth as the TX. As someone who's tried its PlayStation counterpart (the T150, basically the same base with a slightly different rim), I'd say it's 75% the quality for 50% the price. If you're on a strict budget and know you'll be on one for a while, it's a pretty good deal.
^(NOTE: As of writing this, it's currently on sale for $160!)
If you're planning to drive with an H-gate shifter in the future, then this version of the TMX is a good deal. Instead of the standard 2-pedal Thrustmaster set, it comes with Thrustmater's T3PA Pedals. On top of getting a clutch pedal, it includes a conical brake mod, designed to give more tension to your brake pedal and allow you to better control braking. Plus, in just about any wheel-supported Xbox One game you can map the brake to the clutch and put the conical brake mod behind it, giving your legs more room if you're not using an H-gate shifter. Though if you know you never want to use an H-gate, it might be better value to just get the standard TMX and use a DIY solution for modding the brake.
In case you're wondering, yes, it comes with Ferrari branding as standard. Anyway, this is arguably the best bang-for-your-buck. TX TX's rim is interchangeable, so if you're not a fan of the stock one, you can replace it with another Thrustmaster rim of your choosing. On top of that, its belt-driven FFB system is a bit stronger and considerably smoother than the TMX, not to mention that it's hard mountable (is able to be screwed-in to a rig instead of needing a clamp). While some get the TMX as a starter wheel and upgrade later, this wheel is often people's one-stop for sim racing, since it's just that good.
^(NOTE: You really picked the best time to get into sim racing, this wheel is only $257 as of writing this! $400 is a decent price for this wheel but the current price is an absolute steal.)
Similarly to the TMX, this is Thrustmaster's step-up version of the wheel; not only does it include a special black version of the T3PA pedals, it also includes a much better rim. While its style is more akin to the TMX, its rim is made from a metal frame, making it feel more solid than the TMX and standard TX plastic rims, and is wrapped in a nice leather instead of rubber. For only $67 more than the standard TX, it's a significant savings over buying the parts separately.
This is the premium class of wheels, for the most part. Fanatec's hardware is generally only built from the best of materials and offer some of the best performance, along with being open to Fanatec's wider, more advanced selection of parts and accessories. However, unlike most wheel bases, this is only the wheel base, no rim or pedals included. If you want Fanatec's base CSL offerings for a rim and pedals, the price jumps to about $470, the same price as the TX, but that's only with two pedals. If you want their 3-pedal base instead, the price jumps up to $590, and if you want a GT style rim instead, you're already over $600 with the 2-pedal set, $700 with the 3-pedal set. Fanatec's gear is top-quality, but it comes at a price. Is the bit of extra quality worth the prices that the parts quickly add up to? That's subjective. At the very least, I wouldn't recommend Fanatec Gear if you're on a budget, but maybe consider it for the future.
_____
Rigs and More
There are some Xbox One wheels for you to consider. I hope my explanations made sense, I wanted to make sure to convey the different aspects of each wheel so you could better make a decision.
If you want my personal recommendation though, I'd say the TX, especially since it's on sale. $250 for that base is a great price, it's a near-perfect balance of budget with performance.
Next on the list, a rig. If we're assuming that you're willing to reach towards the upper-end of your budget, then continuing here after you get your wheel is a no-brainer. Having a dedicated place to secure your wheel and mount your pedals makes for a far better experience than sitting at a table, especially if you're playing in front of a TV.
Keep in mind that there are two types of rigs, wheel stands and cockpits. Wheelstands are only meant to mount your wheel and pedals, where you sit is up to you. They're designed to be foldable and easy to carry, making them perfect for playing in front of the living room TV or using in a small apartment. Dedicated cockpits take things to the next level, securing your seat to the wheel and pedals means that you won't have to worry about anything sliding around, and makes things more comfortable overall.
As much as I want to continue though, there are many, many great options to choose from and reddit has a length limit on comments. For more information on building your rig, you can check out the r/Simracing Buyer's Guide in the wiki. It includes everything wheels and rigs to accessories and monitor mounts.
Cheers, and let me know if you have any questions.

First I bought this: X-Box One thumpsticks for DS4
It was way better than the original sticks. 2 days ago, I replaced them with aluminium ones: Aluminium sticks
It's a bit slippery, hard to grasp. I think I'll put xbone ones back. I've been using those for months and they were great.
I replaced all my DS4 sticks with these
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00JQX91HU/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1520634213&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=xbox+one+sticks&dpPl=1&dpID=41wR5QAzV1L&ref=plSrch
The thing is, the analog stick allows you to use the controller in other games as well. The Raion is literally completely unusable in any modern game outside of fighting games and sidescrollers. And the Raion is literally priced identical to an entry level fighting stick, whereas the Mad Catz and Hori pads are more like "cheap third party pads". To put that price into context, it's more than the Xbox Elite Controller.
OTHER SELLERS - HERE
If you want to get into RB4, get an Xbox One. You're in luck since you've already exported everything into RB3. It's $15 to import 3 into 4. If you missed out on exporting Green Day RB, all of those songs are still available as DLC.
As for instruments, check thrift stores, Facebook marketplace, Craigslist, etc. If you can find the wireless 360 instruments, you can get an adapter for them to use them on the Xbox one, but It's a bit pricier than it used to be. Xbox One controllers are a bit harder to come by, but if you're lucky you can find them cheap.
You need the adapter.
Rock Band 4 - Legacy Game Controller Adapter for Xbox One https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01541ACLQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ZiYEAbED5EJK9
We've got a chart on rockband.com/support here: https://harmonix.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/217769748-What-legacy-music-game-controllers-will-be-compatible-with-Rock-Band-4-
that has a line saying, "For all wireless legacy Xbox controllers, you will need to purchase the Legacy Game Controller Adapter."
Throw that name into Amazon and voila: https://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Legacy-Game-Controller-Adapter/dp/B01541ACLQ/
That legacy adapter you linked is for wireless instruments. The Midi adapter is wired and can only be used with this:
https://www.amazon.com/PDP-Rock-Band-Wired-Legacy-Adapter/dp/B01MDJWJH9/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1483609772&sr=8-1&keywords=pdp+legacy+adapter
However, it is sold out, has been for as long as it's been out I think, and they're not making them anymore.
Any ekit with a midi-out port on the brain will work with the Midi Pro Adapter. The hitch is that many of the more inexpensive ekits have "midi-via-usb" ports that require a program running on a computer to convert the ekit's output to an input the Midi Pro Adapter can accept. If your midi-out port looks like this, you're good.
Once you have an ekit plugged into the MPA, it's as simple as setting the corresponding midi notes for a Rock Band config.
Also, if you're on Xbox One, you need the ridiculously expensive out-of-print legacy wired controller adapter to play with RB4. PS4 doesn't have this issue and can use the PS3 MPA just fine.
link
and for those interested, pay attention to the amazon warehouse deals for this. this is their most popular e-kit, so a lot of them show up as used, with various issues, but mostly cosmetic ones.
the kit I ordered was $240 and listed as 'good' condition. they claimed the kit would have multiple minor blemishes, but outside of the box having a few dents, the kit appeared to be in pristine condition. (but ymmv)
it may seem like a good jump from the roughly $140 you'd pay for the stock kit with cymbals, but you end up getting a fully customizable kit you can setup in whatever way you want, and you have something that is actually build to be beat on.
also remember you'll need to buy the madcatz midi pro adapter (~$25) to get this working, and xbox users need to get the upcoming pdp adapter to get it to work with rb4. ($30) since I saved $60 on the set like I mentioned above, this sort of made the adapters free.
EDIT: amazon has a musical instrument promotion right now. MISAVE10 gets you 10% off this kit. not sure how long it'll last.

And if you are able, get a Turtle Beach Audio Controller. It'll give you the ability to monitor your own voice as you're speaking with the Clouds. A solid combo.
Use an Xbox One Elite Controller.
Got one when they released, just feels right now. It doesn't actually help at all with CS:GO, I only use two paddles, one is assigned to push to talk, and the other to inspect, which is why I'm inspecting all the time. I just always have my finger on the paddle.

Really overpriced, but again, I just like how to feels. It's extra weighty, and the leather grips feel nice.
Just to be clear this (https://www.amazon.com/PDP-Rock-Band-Wired-Legacy-Adapter/dp/B01MDJWJH9/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8) is the PDP adapter. It only works with the MPA and Ions. Madcatz also made a legacy adapter (https://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Legacy-Game-Controller-Adapter/dp/B01541ACLQ) that only works with wireless instruments. The RB3 stock kit works with the Madcatz one, not PDP. Just want to make sure you have the right adapter before getting a new kit :)
This \^. Just to elaborate: Switching console families is essentially starting from scratch. If you exported any of your Xbox Rock Band games to the next game in the series, you can freely download those exports on the Xbox One, along with any DLC you purchased on Xbox 360. On PS4, you'd need to buy any songs you had again. Also, if you have any of your old wireless instruments from Xbox 360, you can use them on Xbox One with the wireless legacy adapter.
It has to pass through the midi interface before it can pass through usb. For that you need the xbox one legacy adapter and xbox 360 midi adapter. (Xbox one legacy adapters were made and sold in short supply and they probably won't come back. If you don't already have one then you should try playing your kit on rock band 3. You can get custom drum songs there too.)
Then you have to set your kit's pads and cymbals to the correct midi notes (using the drum brain), which is how Rock Band knows what gem you're trying to hit. Those numbers are in the manual for the midi adapter
i have this one and I like it

> X1 doesn’t support generic PC controllers so why would the version they ripped be any different in what they support?
Because the "X" in Xbox stands for DirectX, which is the graphics library that Windows uses to power video games. The whole console series was designed at the core to be as similar to PC as possible in order to allow easy development and porting between Microsoft's two ecosystems, Windows and Xbox. So, the assumption that supporting one joystick means the game supports all joysticks is by far and away the norm. You're either really ignorant about how this stuff works under the hood or you're going through some award-winning mental gymnastics here.
Basically every third-party gamepad ever uses either directinput or xinput, which means that this and this are exactly the same in everything except physical form factor and the internal product ID on the device's chipset. Similarly, every game with joystick support ever doesn't care that this is a different brand, make, model, etc. from this. It's all the same once you get past the form factor. All joysticks are treated the exact same way by the software unless you specifically design the software to not do that.
> Yeah it’s shitty but it is fixable and I’d hedge my bets on a design oversight considering these games have been console exclusive forever
They could easily mitigate that by releasing a statement saying that more support is coming. I highly doubt that'll be the case until whatever exclusivity deal they signed wears out (if it even can), though, because the evidence points to it being a conscious decision.
> It seems everyone has forgotten the olden days of shitty PC to Console or Console to PC ports that barley or didn’t function at all (dark souls) and this is project Aces first PC port
"It was bad before, so don't be so mad that it's bad now." They had ample opportunity to learn. Capcom's Monster Hunter team learned similar lessons when MH:World released on PC last year, but their sins weren't nearly as egregious and nothing about it screamed "malicious", just "incompetent". Bamco's actions here are a targeted effort at creating a closed system, and no one should stand for it.
That's why you have at least two sets. One set always fully charged in the wall charger, and the other set in your controller. It takes like 10-20 seconds to swap batteries.
Here's an Energizer set that includes a wall charger and four AA batteries for about $16. I used to use the Xbox One Play and Charge Kit, but it only has one pack, is more expensive ($25-$30), and I've found that those packs tend to wear down quicker than regular batteries. And there are a ton of people here who swear by Eneloop rechargeable batteries, but they're more expensive than the Energizer/Duracell options ($26-$36).
Does he/she use it with the TV or play a lot of media?
The Media Remote is awesome.
Or how about a Play & Charge kit?
energizer charger w 2 battery packs and base they also have a white base if you prefer.
I’ve had the older version of this and bought another of the newer because I like it that much. It’s pretty solid to have a place to caller home for your controller when you’re done, and it just charges. It should be plenty for a days of gaming but if you use headset and do t charge it you’ll run the batteries low.
I am a big fan of this one.
I've used a few different chargers, and my favorite so far is the Energizer dock (http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-licensed-Energizer-Charging-System-Xbox/dp/B00EADTVLW).

There's the elite controller for $149: https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Elite-Wireless-Controller-one/dp/B00ZDNNRB8
If you're running through controllers that often, I'd recommend just getting a standard controller with a warranty so that you could swap it out when it's no longer working.
I would also recommend just changing the way you're utilizing the controller. No official brand controller should be wearing down with however many hours you could possibly be playing in half a month. I'm probably one of the biggest grinders of HUT in the world and I don't even burn through controllers at that rate.
That one doesn't, but the chatpad allows for limited mapping. I don't think there's any push to talk, though. Personally, I feel like an accessible mute button is enough for me.

My Turtle Beach adapter isn't working with the elite v2.
Sounds are distorted, like metallic or robotic. Dashboard and game audio are both affected. The adapter works fine. I just moved it from my elite v1 to the new v2. I can mute the mic and adjust volume but the sound is fucked up. Headset icon next to battery and time shows it's connected. Headset works fine through the elite 2 headset jack. Seems to be some kind of firmware/driver issue between v2 controller and adapter.
Plugging in the adapter disables mic monitoring. You'd have to buy one of these to keep mic monitoring: https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Headset-Controller-Superhuman-Hearing/dp/B00PWRYKDE/

Edit: but in all honesty the title on the Dell page is "Dell - Hard drive - 36 GB - hot-swap - 3.5-inch - SAS - 15000 rpm - for Dell PowerEdge 2950 (3.5-inch)" which this is not a HDD unless the controller has some flash storage or huge updates.
Edit#2: Well Amazon has a decent amount of 1 star reviews which may steer people away from these controllers.

Never had Rb1 instruments myself to know if they were wired/wireless, but:
If it's wired, then no. Wired 360 instruments are not compatible with XB1
If it's wireless, then yes, but you will need the legacy adapter. (https://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Legacy-Game-Controller-Adapter/)
Hey there! I think I can help answer most of these questions. However, if someone else knows more about me or sees I said something that's not true, please feel free to correct me!

Ok so,

In Conclusion: Since you only have xbox 360 wired instruments, I think your best option (regarding getting "up to date") is to get and play RB3 on your xbox 360. People here in this subreddit have said that RB3 is the best out of all the RB's. It also has a keyboard instrument which is not available in any other game. Unfortunately, I got rid of my X360 and so my only option was to get RB4, but you can still use your console and play a good game! Also, most of the DLC out right now also works on RB3 (Someone correct me if I'm mistaken!) ***Look at EDIT***
Also, if you have the xbox 360, you only have to switch disks and you'll have access to way more music games and songs exclusive to the games (RB1, 2, and 3, Guitar hero 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 etc., World Tour, RB Beatles, you get the idea.)

Well, hope that helps! If you have any other questions, let me know!

Edit: DLC info has been explained in this post's reply!
Ebay! There is always guitars under $100 and you can get good deals if youre really patient. You can also use 360 guitars (wireless only) with the Madcatz legacy adapter
Get an instrument adapter. They've been available since launch.
I skimmed the post, so I missed this:
> I've been using the RB2 kit with RB3 cymbals for years, really happy with it
Then use it. They went to pretty impressive lengths to make backwards compatibility possible in an era of consoles where both companies have either somewhat ignored or actively tried to prevent the use of last-gen controllers. Unless they're falling apart on you, stick with what you know and like.
If you're on Xbox, you need the Legacy Adapter. If you're on Playstation, you don't need anything but the Bluetooth dongle.
Not BC. The controller will work with Rock Band 4 if you have the adapter (https://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Legacy-Game-Controller-Adapter/dp/B01541ACLQ/ref=sr_1_11?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1502082140&sr=1-11&keywords=rock+band+4). Live isn't terrible, but I don't like it.
If Wireless, yes, however you will need this too - https://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Legacy-Game-Controller-Adapter/dp/B01541ACLQ
Wired guitars will not work.
Here is a good compatibility chart.
With respect to Xbox 360 instruments working on the Xbox One, you are thinking of the Mad Catz Legacy Game Adapter. You can get one here.
https://www.amazon.com/Mad-Catz-Rock-Band-Controller/dp/B01541ACLQ
Rock Band 4 (physical game disc) for the Xbox One previously came with said adapter but the original Rock Band 4 Band in the Box bundle for the Xbox One did not.
Nowadays, it is wise, as you said to buy Rock Band Rivals. That is an expansion to Rock Band 4 which contains a Rivals competitive mode and Rockudrama, a VH1-like storytelling career mode (separate from the existing Tour Mode already in Rock Band 4). You can purchase a digital copy of Rock Band 4 along with the Rivals expansion on the Xbox store (IIRC $60), or you can purchase different Rock Band Rivals bundles, including one with just a guitar and the game (along with the expansion) or one with a microphone, drum set, and the game (along with the expansion).
There is one more caveat though, and that's with the Legacy Adapter. The Legacy adapter only supports wireless instruments, and for the Xbox One, there currently isn't a way to use wired Xbox 360 instruments for the Xbox One. This includes Guitar Hero controllers like the Gibson Xplorer (Guitar Hero 2), and the Rock Band 1 instruments. However, the ION Drum Rocker and the Mad Catz MIDI Pro Adapter is now compatible with the Xbox One using the following adapter. This is important for really high-level drummers.
https://www.amazon.com/PDP-Rock-Band-Wired-Legacy-Adapter/dp/B01MDJWJH9/ref=pd_sim_63_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01MDJWJH9&pd_rd_r=V85A4CRWGYH39RCM59NX&pd_rd_w=P0QWw&pd_rd_wg=WISBa&psc=1&refRID=V85A4CRWGYH39RCM59NX
Therefore, if you wish to go the Xbox 360 route, you would have to buy the Legacy Adapter (first link), the Rock Band Rivals game (likely digitally), and then you can buy your 360 instruments. Otherwise, a full band bundle would also work. You can also combine legacy instruments and Xbox One instruments as well, although from experience the latency between them is different so you may run into issues here.
I hope this helps.
Get either the Xbox media remote or the larger one from PDP.
PDP Talon Media Remote Control for Xbox One, TV, Blu-ray & Streaming Media https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GOK34SO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_LkYCDbB4VXJJ2
here you go
The PS3 and Xbox have special media remotes for them that look and operate just like normal remotes.
I think the Xbox One even has infrared so you can literally use any universal remote on it.
Dedicated Blu-ray players are just trash, they often run Java on weak hardware and never get software updates despite talking to the internet. They're frankly a vulnerability. Sure you may find a good one among hundreds but why bother when an Xbox is so cheap and you already have one.
Edit: here's the official one:
https://www.amazon.de/Microsoft-6DV-00006-Xbox-Media-Remote/dp/B00I41H7K8?SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duc03-21&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B00I41H7K8

Looks good to me
> I originally was looking forward to the fact that I wouldn't need to use the Xbox 1 controller to watch something and have the TV remote but this not being able to switch profiles is a total deal breaker.
I bought one of these and love it. It is a huge step up from an xbox media remote .
https://www.amazon.com/Talon-Media-Remote-Control-Blu-ray-Streaming/dp/B01GOK34SO/
I set up my xbox to turn my tv/receiver on and off and then use that remote for everything else.
It depends if you're playing on the Xbox 360 or the Xbox One.
If you're playing on the Xbox 360, you don't need the receiver.
If you're playing on the Xbox One, you need a different receiver, which is super hard to find, this wired PDP Adatper:
https://www.amazon.com/PDP-Rock-Band-Wired-Legacy-Adapter/dp/B01MDJWJH9
The receiver you linked is for using wireless Xbox 360 instruments on the Xbox One.
This is correct. I bought these two from Amazon US:

And this cable from UK:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00EYB8KC6/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The MIDI adapter came all sticky like it was covered in glue (despite being packaged as new), which seems common in the reviews which is a bit annoying, but since it came from the US( I'm in the UK) I couldn't be bothered returning it; works perfectly!

Also have an iPhone 8 Plus, brand new, also with a new SteelSeries Nimbus, works great!
The update may have fanagled with the controller cursor a bit(Some cases it might not show even when connected).
Also this clamp will work with the Nimbus perfectly(I also use this clamp) Clamp
Then you grab something like this to hold your phone on the controller: https://www.amazon.com/dainslef-Controller-Smartphone-Microsoft-Steelseries/dp/B01MSX55FM
steelseries nimbus + this phone clip for a solid hand held experience. controller is made for iOS and the clip is made for the controller. i’ve tried a few mfis and the nimbus has the most solid feel and comfortable grip imo.
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MSX55FM
This the specific clip I bought a few years ago and still use. It leaves enough space on the side for the headphone port to still be used on a controller and has a gap on the back so you can still recharge your controller as well. The kickstand for the clip is fantastic as well since it keeps your controller and phone balanced.
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MSX55FM
If you have a heavier phone consider taking the case off to minimize weight while playing or using an Xbox One X controller to help balance against the phone.
I actually just bought the Turtle Beach 600 Stealth to replace my XO4 wired headset. Mainly because they’re wireless, has a great mic, and has mic monitoring. These hit all of your checkboxes for $89.
Bonus: They are glasses friendly.

Make sure you get the one s version not the older one that doesn't support Bluetooth
I have something like this
I took the top of this: Owoda 2 in 1 Cellphone / Tablet Extended Holder Adjustable Stand for DJI Phantom 3 Standard Remote Controller https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y42HZ6M
And screwed it into this:
Jovitec 2 Pack Foldable Controller Clip Mobile Phone Plastic Holder Smartphone Game Clamp for Xbox One Controller https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DQBPH15
I also inverted the top of Jovitec and glued the hinge in place
After using it for a bit, I do think there is some merit to the post about RSI concerns but I'm trying to be mindful of keeping the rig upright to keep the weight on my palms and taking breaks. I also found that it was more obvious on something like Forza where the RT/LT use is heavier than say Tomb Raider or ACO
The newer ones have a different design than the original Xbone controllers I think too, the originals had shiny plastic at the top above the Xbox logo, meanwhile the newer ones have the same type of plastic all long the body.
Just buy this and you're good to go.
https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Play-Charge-Kit/dp/B00DBDPOZ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466917053&sr=8-1&keywords=play+and+charge+kit
[Xbox Play and Charge] (https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Play-Charge-Kit/dp/B00DBDPOZ4)
You mean like the one officially offered by Microsoft? Thats a pretty good one.
You just need either the Play and Charge Kit or Wired Controller (older)/Wired Controller (newer) or a Sweet Third-Party Controller
There's actually a first party battery pack (manufactured and sold by Microsoft). My router is really powerful and causes some interference when playing wireless, so for games that require a lot of precise inputs like fighting games, I play wired. For games like FFXIV, I play wireless so I can recline back and zone out since a few lost inputs aren't the end of the world.
100 bucks? Sounds like he got ripped off.

Energizer 2X Charging System for Xbox One
I have an Energizer Charge station for my XB1 controllers, and I use an Ikea fold away hook to hang my headset on. I put the cables in the drawers where my XB1 sits. IKEA EXPIDIT are awesome for console storage, though I have a nice Entertainment Center in the living room with my Wii (no U) and 360 (I use the 360 version of the same Energizer stations here as well) along with the controllers and headset for that TV.

I nominate the Energizer Charging Station. I've been using it for about a week with my SO bundle, and I absolutely love it. It's the same price on Amazon as the Play and Charge kit, but it'll charge two controllers and has the red/green indicator lights. You don't have to plug anything in either. The controller just sits on the station.
I just bought this one. Works perfectly. Would recommend.

Here's a list with some points both negative and positive about the games that i have so far on my Xbox One and if I'd suggest them or not. Also, look into picking up the Performance Designed Products Charging Station it looks great and is pretty convenient.

They wiped out all support for previous 360 XID wheels, which is ridiculous. And they don't seem to be planning on making a new entry-level type wheel, like your official 360 one.
There are only two Xbox One supported wheels at the moment, the Thrustmaster and Madcatz (sorry for it being a link to Kotaku, but it is a good basic run down, with people talking about Microsoft's decision to stop supporting 360 wheels in the comments).
They're both $400 USD. I honestly couldn't tell you how good they are myself, but I'd imagine you'd be able to use the pedals, since the official 360 wheel's pedals were dogshit, these are more like just poop - useable (but no clutch pedal still).
But the Madcatz does have a lap base fitting you can use, and it is wireless. The Thrustmaster's more bulky and isn't wireless, would definitely need to be used on something solid like a desk or a rig.
So the tradeoff is that the Madcatz is more plasticy but more portable, tuneable, and comfortable to use (arguably). Then the TM is more solid, compatible with PC, and is sure to last on the outboard hardware side of things (TM's history with its internals breaking is a different story)
Here's an in-depth review of the Madcatz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kyHwH5zCOk
And the TM:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhwe1DWF9x0
There should be more wheels coming down the line in the future, but I'm pretty sure it'll be no less than $300. I don't know why these companies seem to think there's no market for a solid entry-level wheel ~$150. People would eat it up.
Oh wow, as I was finishing up this post, I checked prices for the two wheels online and found a new wheel that's coming out October 15th, a "Hori wheel" that's $90, check it out:
http://www.amazon.com/HORI-Racing-Wheel-One-Xbox/dp/B00L6AVN6S/ref=zg_bs_6469287011_5
Seems like it'll be what you'll want if you don't mind the lack of FFB.
Also, the TM wheel is only $324 USD on Amazon at the moment:

They had some reliability issues when it first came out, but perhaps they've sorted that out now. When the wheel is working, it's AMAZING! It does have a 2 year warranty if you do run into issues.
This is the cheapest decent wheel that I know of that works on both- Thrustmaster TX

No official price seen for the Mad Catz wheel. But the $400 is confirmed for the Thrustmaster Wheel... listed on Amazon
My concern is that these wheels might be exclusive to Xbox One, not usable with PC, PS4, etc. There's no way I'd pay more than $100-150 if that was true. Honestly since they've basically shooed away the people who bought the CSR wheels for Forza 4 and Xbox 360... I have no confidence in Microsoft and the Xbox One now.
TX458
Thrustmaster T3PA
Looks like you can get both shipped from Amazon new for around $400-$450. Unless I'm missing something, that's not around $800.
the thrusmaster tx is compatible with pc and xbox one
http://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Charge-Base-Xbox-One/dp/B00FLLFJE0
I got this and I am never looking back.
Or you can buy one from a trusted company on Amazon for less.
I've had this for about 6 months and love it.
I used a PDP Kinect mount. I rigged the 360 version to work but here's the XO version: http://www.amazon.com/PDP-Kinect-TV-Mount-Xbox-One/dp/B00FYMTUQY
This mount will fit on thin TVs. The main thing to be concerned with is the 1/4 inch or so overhang if you have zero bezel.
Dude, these are the two things you need to get your XP400's working with the Xbox One without the need for using two different headsets:
The PS4 cable is compatible with the Xbox adapter (They use the same 3.5mm CTIA standard jack)
You'll need to add this to your controller if its not one of the latest, It allows you to add pretty much any headphone/earbuds with or without a microphone.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Official-Xbox-Stereo-Headset-Adapter/dp/B00I41H7US/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451101487&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox+one+headphone+adapter
So in terms of sound, you can attach headphones straight into the aux jack on the controller if you have a newer one, or buy a headphone stereo audio adapter if you have an older controller and the headphones/headset plugs into that and gives you both game sound and voice chat.
Monitor wise, get anything with under 5ms response time and you only need 60hz refresh rate as Xbox can only display a maximum of 60 frames per second (fps) so don't listen to anything trying to suggest you need a 144hz monitor as this is just a waste of money for a console, brands like BenQ, Asus, Samsung all make very nice monitors, I'll link a few below, note they will be UK links to Amazon as that's where I'm from.
Note the bottom one, the Samsung, does have speakers, so for this one you can just plug the HDMI in and use the speakers from the monitor, or turn the volume down to nothing and use headphones if you would prefer.

Those are a steal. Easily worth $40
> -can I hear game audio and player communication through the included headset, if not is there a headset that will allow me to do that?
Not with the included headset, but almost all other headsets will have that functionality. The Xbox Stereo Headset is great and actually on sale for $40 (normally $80).
Yes, you can sell the AC codes on /r/gamesale or ebay/wherever.
Wallet Friendly: Xbox One Stereo Headset
Best of the best: Astro A50 (has dolby digital surround sound and nice thumping bass)

I liked the XB1 surround headset myself. Good price point and fully compatible with no extra crap to go through.

Gamestop was giving them out when the One x was released. Looks like you can get them on amazon for a ridiculous 12.99
Not the BEST solution, as it requires some cash, but I picked up a Turtle Beach adapter with mic monitoring and superhuman hearing and it is awesome. $25 on Amazon.
You can see the D-Pad pretty well in the product pictures: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Wireless-Controller/dp/B00CMQTUSS
I would expect a used one would cost at least $30-$40
If you like the Xbox controller, there are three easily solutions for you, by increasing price:
http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-360-Wired-Controller/dp/B003ZSN600
http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Controller-Windows/dp/B004QRKWKQ
http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Wireless-Controller/dp/B00CMQTUSS
I use the middle option, as I prefer not having any more cables than necessary, plus any Xbox 360 controller can connect to the wireless dongle, meaning you can buy extra, new model controllers (not Xbox One) or use any controllers you can borrow. The Xbox One controller must remain plugged in via Micro-USB (included,) and the wired Xbox 360 controller obviously is wired. Microsoft has released drivers for all three and they should install automatically. For right now, there is no way to connect an Xbox One controller wirelessly.
For PS3, you will have to find a driver package. I used motioninjoy so I could use my PS3 controller for emulating SNES games, but it messed up other drivers and I ended up uninstalling it and using my 360 controller exclusively. Once the drivers are installed, you can use a Bluetooth dongle to connect the PS3 controller to the PC wirelessly.
A PS4 controller can also be used via Bluetooth, but requires DS4Tool which maps the buttons on the DS4 controller to their corresponding Xbox 360 buttons.
this controller with the optional accessory is the best i have came across so far.

XBone play and charge
PS4 just uses micro USB and assumes you have the cable....
> And a charger grip should not be $30 freaking dollars. Its a charger! They should be $5 or $10
While I would prefer it to come with the charging grip, let's not pretend Nintendo is alone in this.
At least the JoyCons can be charged without extra investment at all. The same cannot be said about an Xbox One controller. And I own three of them.
Yup, if you already have a controller you can just get the play and charge accessory.
Weird. AA batteries should last you at least 30 hours of use with no headset. I personally use a play and charge kit and get really good battery life. Highly recommend it, not specifically for increasing battery life (though it may help if you're having some weirdness), but for saving money and convenience since you never have to get disposable batteries again.
What console does he have now? An Xbox 360?
Just wait till Black Friday and get whatever is cheapest.
You don't need Kinect or the Xbox One S. Just get the regular Xbox One with a controller... might be bundled with some games, if that's the cheaper option.
The console does not come with a controller recharger -- it just has batteries. So it's up to you if you want to keep buying batteries, use rechargeable batteries, or buy the [Play and Charge Kit] (https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Play-Charge-Kit/dp/B00DBDPOZ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474487379&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox+one+play+and+charge). Personally I have the play & charge because I don't want to be bothered with buying/recharging batteries.
Recommended games for him: Halo Master Chief Collection, Halo 5. Final Fantasy XV is coming out Sept 30th but it will be cheaper if you wait a while to get it. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is pretty cheap right now, but it doesn't have the best reviews -- it started off as a handheld game, so it's not a huge game.
Games are going to be way cheaper used on Amazon than in any stores. You can buy an Amazon gift card with cash at a store and use that to buy stuff on Amazon.
I'm pretty sure you can just plug it in and use it without batteries. It uses a micro-usb cable, not a proprietary one.
If you don't want to use batteries, you can just use this official battery from Microsoft. Then the controller will be rechargeable like a Dualshock 4. It also comes with a micro-usb cable.
My girlfriend told me that at the end of the day she will buy everything in my amazon cart up to 300 dollars...
But I didn't really have anything I needed or even wanted all that bad.. Took me all day to find stuff lol.
So I got
Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 $97
JD Fenix Limited Edition Xbox One Wireless Controller $55
Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows $21
Xbox One Play and Charge Kit $24
SanDisk 128GB Flash Drive $32
APC 11-Outlet Surge Protector $35
APC 8-Outlet Surge Protector $25
10 Nylon Lanyards for Small Electronic Devices $4
Still have 8 dollars left over haha.
I play with rechargeables, and prefer them.
Here is a scenario as to why... you are playing a game, really getting into it, when your controller turns off due to runing out of "juice".
With rechargables, you switch out the batteries, and continue to play just like before.
With charge kit, you have to plug in your controller, so you are now using a controller hooked to your console. I, personally, don't like that.

Just regular AA batteries (I use rechargeable ones). Or you can get one of these.
They can use 2 AA batteries or the Xbox rechargeable battery pack:
https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Play-Charge-Kit/dp/B00DBDPOZ4
I have a couple of controllers using either the Xbox battery or standard rechargeable Ni-MH AA batteries. Both work great and last a long time between charges. Just avoid buying generic battery packs on eBay. I have had nothing but problems with them.
I pick that stand for showcasing my Controllers :)
Highly recommended, it’s a good Quality
You can find it on Amazon, Link below.

Wasn't sure about the supplier they are pretty hit and miss on reviews
Some people are recommending the Energizer one. I also recommend that one.Microsoft licensed Energizer 2X Charging System for Xbox One.
I've had luck with the Energizer one. Full charge lasts close to 30 hours gameplay with XOFours connected, and recharges over night.
I bought this one in December of 2014, and it has been great. I play a ton of Rocket League and GTA V on PC with it, and it will for hours on a charge. I think my longest ever play time was during an extralife games marathon, I went for about 7 hours on a charge. It wasn't dead, but I was.
40 bucks for one charger? that's silly talk. I've been using this thing for ages.
I had that happen a couple of times, and quickly realized I'd be going through a monstrous pantload of AA's before finally dying of malnutrition playing this console, and then I found [this guy] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EADTVLW/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I've had it for about a week, and I just hang the controller up to charge when I'm done playing for the day. Each battery (It comes with two) supposedly lasts 40 hours (or twenty per battery--I can't tell if they're being coy about that) so you theoretically won't have any issues with running out of juice in the middle of a session.
If you are, then might I suggest a shower?
EDIT: Fixed my bad linking syntax.
My point is that there is a TX version that does have FFB. See here
Furthermore, my point is that OP is not referring to the TX version, so the version he is referring to does not have FFB. We are already in agreement here.
Thank you for all the help, I ended up buying this http://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-Ferrari-Edition-xbox-one-Windows/dp/B00ENFVS5Y/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 after doing some research on it. Seems really good and I plan on getting a different steering wheel for it in the future
If it were me, I would get this:
https://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-Racing-Wheel-Ferrari-458-Italia/dp/B00ENFVS5Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480174329&sr=8-1&keywords=thrustmaster%2Btx&th=1
The pedals are meh, but at least you get the TX base which I would place awfully close to the T500, but significantly better than the G29.
https://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-Racing-Wheel-Ferrari-458-Italia/dp/B00ENFVS5Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479573199&sr=8-1&keywords=thrustmaster+tx
This is a much better wheel than the logitech and in a sale at the moment ($300 currently) so it's only $50 over your budget.
You will have to do alot of upgrading if you ever plan to get a shifter for it though (T3PA pedals, TH8A shifter for a combined extra ~$200).
You can get it with a leather wheel trim and T3PA pedals as standard for $450: https://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-Racing-Wheel-Leather-Premium-Official/dp/B0151K6FPC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1479573211&sr=8-2&keywords=thrustmaster+tx
Keep an eye out for it being reduced in the Black Friday sales next week.
If you can't afford that, the G920 with Driving Force shifter is a decent fallback.
Logitech MOMO and DFGT are at or slightly below this price range, but they're two good ones. I've used a MOMO for close to a decade now and it's been a solid wheel. DFGT is superior to the MOMO in most ways except the MOMO has actual paddles instead of just buttons, if that's a big deal for you. DFGT is like 2x the cost of a MOMO though.
If you can save up another $100-$150, or wait for a sale, you could get a Thrustmaster TX or T300RS. They share the same base, and it's one of the best on the market (TX's wheel isn't the best, but it can be replaced). It's miles ahead of all the Logitech wheels (G27,Momo,DFGT) because it's a servomotor with a belt. Logitech wheels are geared which makes the FFB less precise, weaker, and gives them a "notchy" feeling.
IMO if you're looking for a low-cost wheel to test the waters or are new to racing, get a MOMO cause they're very cheap (~$80-$90, vs $150 for a DFGT) and good enough. The MOMO's low steering lock actually makes it well suited for F1 and other open wheel racing. If you are still playing a lot after a year or whatever, put the money you saved on getting the MOMO cheaply into getting a TX/T300RS.

That's what I have too since day one, works great!
http://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Charge-Base-Xbox-One/dp/B00FLLFJE0
TBH, I don't recall what type of batteries they take--I assume either AA or AAA. I bought one of those cheap Nyko charging kits at Costco when the XBox One was first released (years ago). The kit came with rechargeable batteries and I've used those ever since. When I got a One S controller the battery and cover fit so I use it for both the old style & new. There are other, similar charging kits on Amazon--I'm not sure which is the best. The one I have has been adequate.
Nyko Charge Base
http://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Charge-Base-Xbox-One/dp/B00FLLFJE0
A little more expensive, but it keeps things neat and shows you the charging status of the controller.
I use the nyko - dual controller charging dock. I like it, as it is narrow and long; so it fits in tighter places even with both controllers docked.
http://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Charge-Base-Xbox-One/dp/B00FLLFJE0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1381637958&sr=8-1&keywords=nyko+xbox+one for the non mobile people. :P
Be sure to look at the options that are out there. I personally use one by Nyko, and bought a charge base for it. It doesn't require any plugging in using the micro-USB (thus saving your micro-USB cords from wear n' tear), and is very convenience. When I'm done playing, I literally just set the controller on the base and it starts charging. No fuss, no muss.
This is the one I got:

source: http://www.amazon.com/PDP-Kinect-TV-Mount-Xbox-One/dp/B00FYMTUQY
amazon.com has the Xbox One Kinect TV mount from PDP up for pre-order. It shows that it uses a screw thread similar to most camera mounts rather than the proprietary snap on connection that is used on the Xbox 360 Kinect.
Looks like we aren't going to be able to use our existing mounts.
This one costs a bit more but it's fantastic, I've had it for a week or so now.
The adapter usually comes with xbox one compatible headsets. It can also be purchased separately and used with pretty much and headphone with a 3.5mm jack.
Want a 3.5mm audio jack on the controller? That's another £20.
If you look closely at the plug you'll notice there are 4 separate metal contacts (TRRS) instead of 3 (TRS) see this image
That extra contact is for the microphone, smartphones can utilize this as standard, letting you make hands-free calls, but will need an adapter cable to work on separate headphone and mic jacks on a PC (like this)
As for the xbox, depending on which you have there adapters for those too, this for xbox one controllers and a combo of this and this for an xbox 360 controller
As for whether you'd be better off with separate headphone and mic, absolutely, of course you would be, I can't imagine polaroid branded headphones sounding any good at all, yes they are indeed usable for all your intended applications with the adapters I linked but sound quality will be poor, especially mic quality from the tiny thing built into the cable. If that bothers you in any way, then head over to the sticky thread for advice on what to get instead, otherwise those adapters should work fine, even if they come in at just as much, if not more than the headphones cost themselves.
Do you have the Xbox One already? If you buy it brand new, the controller will have the 3.5mm socket already, but for some reason it doesn't like the QC35's and you have to plug it in really, really slowly (it's best to have some audio playing like a title screen of a game so you can hear the music pop in) but if you want to save that trouble here is the Stereo Adaptor and here is the QC25 Android Cable i purchased, i can assure you that it works. and yes the microphone works too.
Any Xbox compatible 3.5mm Jack headset can be used with the official Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter. They are about £16 ($20?) on Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Official-Xbox-Stereo-Headset-Adapter/dp/B00I41H7US/). This plugs into the rectangular port on the bottom of the controller, and gives you mute, chat / game balance, and volume up / down buttons. It's very simple to use, and gives you full control over the volume balance for game and chat.
You can also get aftermarket pads from PDP, which have a 3.5mm socket for any Xbox compatible headset with a 3.5mm Jack, and they have a special dedicated button by the right thumb stick, which when double tapped, mutes the mic, and when held down, turns the D-Pad into a volume up / down and chat / game balance control.
This is what I use, and it is so easy to adjust game and chat volume on the fly, I'm actually surprised MS don't do something similar - it's such an intuitive way of doing it. One thing though, is that I don't know whether PDP do a wireless pad with this feature, (I'd have to google it) as the ones I've seen on Amazon are wired (as is mine). They are only about £35 / $40 or less though, and the cable means the controller is light, and never runs out of battery! :D
Edit - Had a look and can't find a wireless version, but this is the one I have, and I am very pleased with it, cable is nice and long, and fits securely. It feels a bit different to a regular controller, some things better, some things worse. The home button is much easier to use, but the triggers are flatter. Buy from Amazon with free delivery and try it? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Afterglow-Prismatic-Wired-Controller-Xbox-x/dp/B00ZJRHSRW/
I would suggest the hyper X cloud 2. I have had headsets that are cheaper and headsets that are several hundred dollars more (Astro) and I can assure you the sound quality is on par with more expensive headphones, the comfort is the best in gaming headset, the mic is also really good both in sound and in convenience as it's removable and easy to reposition. also the convenience of having the USB sound card in case you ever want to use it on PC is a nice bonus. Even the packaging is top notch lol.
You will want the headset adaptor for the controller though as it is easier to adjust volume settings (although this can be done in the guide)

Yes! If you have (at least +1) other speaker, you can group rooms together. The cooler feature is that I can be streaming pandora to my kitchen, I can be streaming spotify to my playbar (and I did this the other day) AT THE SAME TIME was streaming the XB1 in-game audio to my M$ Stereo Headset

and I'm happy with mine. Sounds quite Nice.
This is heavily dependent on the type of glasses you wear, OP. I purchased my new pair to be as lightweight as possible, and I have very few issues with headsets now. Aside from that, these headphones are the most comfortable I've worn, and I've experimented quite a bit with Sennheisers and Audio Technicas. I also have no issues with the Microsoft stereo headset. Quite comfortable actually. I'll also echo others and say that TBs are generally uncomfortable. My local Walmart had all the TBs on display ready to try if you want to experiment.
Yes, and yes.
The x12 headset requires stereo RCA (red & white) audio jacks to get game audio, and the Xbox One does not provide that. So, you will need something else, and that "something" depends on the rest of your setup. Check for an audio output on the stereo system or TV you plug your Xbone into. If none is available, you can use the Xbone's optical output and something to convert it to RCA -- here is one example I found just searching for "Optical to RCA".
Also, the chat cable (that goes from the headset to the 360 controller) will not plug in to the Xbone controller directly; you will need the Stereo Headset Adapter. Plug it in, and then use the balance controls on the adapter to be completely on "chat", so that it only emits chat audio and not game audio.
Note that you can get away with just using the Stereo Headset Adapter to get both game and chat audio through the controller and the chat cable, but in my experience with the x41 headset, it sounds like crap, because the headset is expecting a mono chat audio source and processes it as such.
Honestly, for the price and hassle, you'd be better off just picking up the Stereo Headset. You'll get the same stereo quality of the x12, but it's just using a single cable connection to your controller, and it'll cost as much or less as the equipment you'd need to get the x12 hooked up.

I got this one for my son, and it's pretty good value for the price. The sound is good, the virtual surrounds works well and it fits my giant head comfortably.
The only downside I see is that the microphone is on a stiff plastic arm and cannot be placed very close to your mouth.

I would think something like this would be what you're looking for
Looks like I'm just going with the Xbox One Stereo Headset which is much less in comparison but much more simple in comparison but it's good because I am not fully committed to gaming on the Xbone yet. Thanks for the suggesting regardless!
I can't recommend these more: Click
I have changed them on both of my DS4 and they are awesome. You can actually get them cheaper if you don't feel like spending $15 on them. Check sites like http://tinydeal.com or http://dx.com
For start, turn off any and all forms of auto-aiming where possible, as it's inconsistent in different games and really only helps if you're very casual and have blocks for hands. Start your aiming sensitivity on a lowish setting, then increase it by a notch every few games until you're at the highest one you can comfortably snipe with.
Also do yourself a favour and get yourself a pair of Xbone analogue stick caps and put them in your DualShock 4. It's very cheap and easy to do, sticks and instructions here:
https://www.amazon.com/Original-Black-Xbox-Controller-Analogue-Thumbsticks/dp/B00JQX91HU
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/DualShock+4+Analog+Stick+Covers+Replacement/22675
Say what you will about Microsoft, but they understand gamepad ergonomics far better than Sony do... the reason that the left stick is high on their controllers is because that's a more natural resting position for your thumb that causes less strain when pressing the stick forward for long periods of time, which is what you're doing in most games, most of the time. Getting Xbone caps won't give you that but it will give you the other smart little touches they added.
Look at this photo and note the differences between those sticks and the default ones:
http://i.imgur.com/SJCIyVB.jpg
Concaves: it's harder to pull something than to push it, and pulling something without a proper grip is even harder again. You get a proper grip by applying force perpendicular to the object you're pulling, not sliding parallel against the sides. The convex stick tops that Sony uses ensures that there's always a degree of sliding against it, which is obviously not as effective as getting a proper hold into a concave like you can in the Xbone sticks.
Ledge: there's also a hard "ledge" at the outer edge of the concave that makes sure your finger doesn't slip off the stick, as opposed to the soft bump that allows more slippage on Sony's sticks.
Textured edges: these are there to ensure that you have as much grip as possible while moving he stick up and down, as your thumb doesn't push/pull from directly below or above the stick, but off to the side at an angle. While Sony's sticks have a texture too, the softer blunt bumps found on it will never allow as much grip as the harder sharp texture on MS's sticks.
You're probably thinking these are tiny things that won't make a difference to your aiming, but in terms of ergonomics, those little things all work together to make a pretty big difference. Try the yoga mission in GTA V with both sets of sticks and it'll become very obvious which ones allow a better, more precise grip.

There is nothing completely wireless atm. But in October there will be 2 from Turtle beach: the Stealth 500x and XO one. I believe the Stealth is completely wireless. Not sure about the XO one. If you're looking for a headset right now, Astro a50 and titanfall atlas would be your best choices. But those are not "completely" wireless.

My wife got me the Turtle Beach Stealth 500x. I'm not a super competitive gamer, but the completely wireless 7.1 surround and completely wireless chat is completely worth the price tag. As of right now, it is the only completely wireless setup for game audio and chat (Other options require the chat adapter connected to the controller) Also they have an internal rechargeable battery (which is nice not having to buy batteries or use rechargeable AA) that lasts 15+ hours and recharges in 3 or so.

Any questions about them, let me know!
Hands down the best headset I have ever owned is the turtle beach stealth 500x. They are amazing. 100% wireless, great sound, 3 levels of mic monitoring and tons of other features with presets and things. Ear muffs are kinda stiff for my liking so I removed them and put the cushions from my x41's on. Much softer feel. Battery lasts about 4-5 days when its been fully charged and that playing like 4-5 hours a night on avg. I also use them to watch TV when not playing games they are that great!

Yes you can. I have an older Panasonic receiver with an optical audio port linking tv/Xbox . Just old-school 5.1 speakers. The Xbox turns my receiver/TV on and off via the Power settings.
I listen to game volume on that. Any box controller will work, tho I favor the elite. I have the turtle beach audio mixer that comes with any of their headsets. I got tired of wearing big over the ear headphones, I just plug a pair or earbuds into the turtle beach mixers and only put the earbud on that has the inline mic on the same line. Just use the turtle beach mixer to lower or eliminate game volume outta the earbuds so you can hear game chat.
Anything similar to the below would roughly match what I'm using. May be simpler solutions as your audio system is much newer than mine.
https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Headset-Controller-Superhuman-Hearing/dp/B00PWRYKDE/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=xbox+controller+audio+controller&qid=1564841447&s=gateway&sprefix=Xbox+controller+audio+con&sr=8-3
I suggest using a Turtle Beach Ear Force Headset Audio Controller Regular or Plus
https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Headset-Controller-Superhuman-Hearing/dp/B00PWRYKDE/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=turtle%2Bbeach%2Bheadset%2Baudio%2Bcontroller%2Bplus&qid=1564810063&s=videogames&sr=1-1&th=1
This attaches to your controller and controls the audio and mic output. It has mic monitoring as well allowing you to listen to your voice when chatting. You can then attach your headset to the 3.5 mm outlet on the this device.
The adapter has the controls on it. Some headsets come with an adapter (turtle beach) a lot of others don't. So you can just buy one and have controls and they'll work with any headphones. I don't think there's that many headsets, if any, that come with inline controls other than volume. The big thing about the adapters is they have 2 different volumes for game AND chat and a mute button etc.
This is what turtle beach's adapter looks like: http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Headset-Controller-Superhuman-Hearing/dp/B00PWRYKDE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1463012266&sr=8-3&keywords=turtle+beach+adapter+xbox+one
I had an adapter from my old turtle beach XO one headset. I then bough a new chat cable off of amazon for £3 and it sorted it.

Don't mind you asking at all!
It's a combination of 3.5 mm aux cables and adapters. My headset set-up also easily works with a ModMic5 (what I now use at work with my 1000XM2 headphones). If you need pictures I can share some links.
Cable management is key so that this doesn't become a crazy mess of wires, but for all the parts in play I set this up very cleanly.
If you want better mic monitoring, higher audio output, and chat/game audio balancing from the Xbox One controller (use just stereo audio, no virtual surround sound) you can add in the Turtle Beach Headset Audio Controller Plus ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PWRYKDE/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_f1J0CbG4W43H4).

As you set this all up I recommend intertwining the cables or using some cable clips like those that come with the ModMic to make it clean.
Sure, but Turtle Beach is still making their version for $40usd, so this is perfectly attainable.

have you tried one of these adapters?
He probably has an old Xbox one controller, they did have a weird ass connector, and if you wanted to use a normal headset you needed an adaptor: Turtle Beach - Ear Force Headset Audio Controller Plus - Superhuman Hearing - Xbox One https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PWRYKDE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_.eIPBbFNPJDZ7
Shoulda just gotten one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Turtle-Beach-Headset-Audio-Controller/dp/B00PWRYKDE/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=turtle+beach+xbox+one+adapter&qid=1573460368&sr=8-2
I highly, highly recommend HyperX Pros. They are super comfortable for long gaming sessions (I've had problems with similarly-priced Turtle Beach and MS cans in the past). Also, the faux leather pads feel great. I switched them out for the foam ones a few months back so I can hear my girlfriend when she's in the room. Haha! Also, they're "cooler" for summer weather.
I do have to say, though, you'll probably want to cop a Turtle Beach adapter if you go with Hyper X, which will up the total cost considerably. The Turtle Beach comes with mic. monitoring. I can't even remember if Hyper X monitoring is supported through the Xbox dash. But they don't come with an adapter. I like having the controls right there in my hands versus the dash. And TB mic monitoring is much better.

Buy the adaptor (£24), then get any half decent over ear headphones (£28) that include an inline mic. That way you can use them for day to day listening on other devices and you can use alternative headphones on your xbox in a pinch.

Here's a cheaper alternative but I would say yes if the price doesn't go above $140. Also, Xbox Elite Controllers are the same thing basically with better paddles. http://www.amazon.com/Collective-Minds-XBOX-ONE-Strike-Pack/dp/B01720MZJO/ref=sr_1_6/186-8082418-4017529?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1463971487&sr=1-6&keywords=xbox+elite+controller

If you're on Xbox get the Xbox One Elite, not a SCUF. It comes stock with all the customization options that would cost you over $200 to upgrade to with a SCUF.
Unless you value cosmetic customization more, then SCUFs are great.

Dang. Well, if I have to pony up for an official controller anyway, I may as well go big or go home.
I bought one on Amazon 3 days ago.
Still 3 left in stock. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ZDNNRB8/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1518463997&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=xbox+elite+controller&dpPl=1&dpID=41iMgbuVGML&ref=plSrch
Yea it's a very common thread there, and you can't blame people, you'd expect better from a $150 controller than some flimsy parts and a 90 day warranty. Seems like people either love it or get a crappy one. It's what's kept me from getting one even though some of my friends rave about it
Also check Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ZDNNRB8/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8
It has like 20% 1 star reviews, seems like meh build quality and/or qc
If you can afford the exorbitant price of $150, the Xbox Elite Controller is downright amazing. It feels great, you can map any button to any other button, you can switch out dpads and thumbsticks, and it has a nice weight to it. comes with a really long USB cable too, and it works with the Xbox One Wireless Adapter if I'm not mistaken. Here's the Amazon link- http://amzn.com/B00ZDNNRB8
Get the official chatpad. That's what I use. Then you don't have to worry about wires and you are still able to plug a headset in if needed. There are also two programmable buttons at the bottom for whatever your heart desires (I use mine to turn the TV volume up and down). It's also backlit and times put after about 10 seconds of no use.

I'm surprised they're not at major retailers. I can have one delivered to me within 2 hours from Amazon Prime Now. $24.99 plus taxes, delivery fee and tip so it ends up being closer to $35 anyway but if they have it I bet some places you're not thinking to check will have them for the standard $24.99 price.
Edit: you can also get this - https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Chatpad-Chat-Headset-plugs-directly/dp/B0136JPA56
That has a 3.5mm jack and the same audio controls as the adapter plus a keyboard and it also comes with a cheap headset. My friend just got one to replace his headset adapter that stopped working.
Wireless KBM is probably what I would end up doing.
But really I was considering getting one of these for my controller, if it worked for Skyrim hotkeys. I haven't had a chance to read up on it yet.
Have never tried playing Skyrim via controller or on big screen, because I need muh hotkeys, and Dragons Dogma is unplayable via KBM, imo (the UI nav is ridiculous, to say the least), so was looking for a solution to play both from my couch with a controller, for funsies.
Also, was finally checking out the Lock On mod the other day. Looks like it'd be great for couch warrior, joystick combat.
Also, if you have this adapter on your Xbone controller, you can type from the controller, too, therefore completely replacing your mouse and keyboard.
PDP's not making a new wireless adapter, but the Mad Catz one is still available and will continued to be supported by the game.
https://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Legacy-Game-Controller-Adapter/dp/B01541ACLQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1511062636&sr=8-1&keywords=mad+catz+wireless+adapter
That only works for wireless instruments.
If they are the wireless ones then yes with a 360 Wireless adapter they work fine. If they are IONs or you use a Midi adapter you have to wait for the new Wired adapter from PDP to hit this fall. If you were a day 1 RB adopter and have a Wired RB1 drum set you're shit out of luck (like me!).
If you have the wireless legacy adaptor they will work.
https://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Legacy-Game-Controller-Adapter/dp/B01541ACLQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1540053895&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=rockband+wireless+legacy&dpPl=1&dpID=31y6OvK5OtL&ref=plSrch
Yes, but I want to offer a specific detail about this that angers some people.
You can only be signed into one account per wireless legacy adapter and the wired legacy adapter only supports one controller anyway.
That is important if you have a sibling, significant other, or anyone else who wants to be on a different account at the same time with different Xbox 360 instruments. Only one of you can earn achievements, contribute xp, etc.
If you still have wireless Rock Band 2 instruments, I'd just get the adapter. https://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Legacy-Game-Controller-Adapter/dp/B01541ACLQ/
Yes, it's available separately. You can buy it direct from our store http://store.madcatz.com and if you're in the US then it's also available on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Legacy-Game-Controller-Adapter/dp/B01541ACLQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1450700061&sr=8-1&keywords=rock+band+4+legacy+adapter
You can also use the wireless adapter if you want to use your old wireless instruments. Wired adapter is sold out and had a limited run.
If you want to go super (ghetto) cheap for instruments, start searching thrift stores. Any wireless Rock Band or Guitar Hero guitar/drums will work with this adapter, and all USB microphones work. Guitars and mics are fairly common, but drums sets not so much. Compared to the Rivals band-in-a-box you're not saving a ton of money and risking janky used instruments, but it's not a bad option for a second guitar and extra mics you'll need to complete your band.
For music, look for (new) track packs for the Xbox 360. They come with codes to export the songs, and they carry over to the Xbox One. Some are available on Amazon for about $10 for ~20 songs. Used copies are a gamble since the code is likely redeemed, but if you can return them without issue (Gamestop), it may be worth a shot. If you have an Xbox 360, buy Rock Band Blitz (25 songs included for $15) and a (new or used) copy of RB3 (~$20 for the disc, $15 more to export 83 songs).
Talking about rock band 4 or older games? And for which console? $500 for a band in a box is a shit load of money for something that was available for 100€ just a few months ago on amazon.de. That was the rock band 4 band kit for xbox one, the playstation ones have been hard to find for a while now.
Anyway, they aren't making anymore of those instruments and no official announcement has been made on the matter. Basically you probably won't find new instruments or band kits anywhere for a price that isn't ridiculous. Even the simple dongle that makes you able to play RB4 with real drums that was $10 on US amazon just 6 months ago goes for 200€ on ebay and I've seen people actually buy them. It doesn't look good for rock band if it goes on like this.
My tip would be, IF you are on the xbox one, to go for the legacy adapter(postage was $10 to finland so pretty affordable) and try to score any used wireless guitar hero or rock band guitar from local marketplaces or second hand stores if they are a thing in your country. I suggest guitar hero guitars and any wireless rock band drum kit, a guitar hero drumkit will work too but I guess its not ideal for the 4 lane notes. This way with a bit of good luck you could get everything you need for under $100 + the older drums are actually better, new ones have a lot issues with double hits.
If you're on ps4, the same thing but you'll have to do a bit of research since I don't know that much about them, but I do know ps3 guitars and drums will work with ps4 too. All i know that ps3 guitars have a terrible input lag, atleast the 2 guitar hero les pauls I own.
Oh, and basically any older rock band or guitar hero usb mic will work on both consoles as well for vocals

Actually it wasn't the official one but yes it can be used with any Xbox One. It even controls the volume on my receiver which is nice:

I'd suggest checking out an Xbox one s or x.

I'd go with the S if you just want a 4k bluray player. Go with the x if you're also worried about playing games on it.

Made for iPhone, I recommend the steel series nimbus controller. It’s really good

I hope I can link it here. It's this.
I have a set up similar to this! I’ll be going on a 7 hour train trip in a few days so I’ll definitely be using it.
If anyone’s interested, it’s this mount. It works perfectly on an Xbox One or Steelseries Nimbus controller. It has a little clip on the back so you can leave it on a table and watch movies from it.
I got a steel series too but I didn’t like having my phone far away so I got an attachment that goes on the top of the controller and it’s been perfect. So my phone sits a little bit off the top of the controller. controller attachment
I have an elite controller as well and I just use the mouse. That said, probably the best option would be to configure cemuHook to use an android phone for gyro controls and then buy one of those Xbox controller phone clip things to attach the phone to the controller. Here's an example:
https://www.amazon.com/MP-Power-Foldable-Mobile-Phone-Holder-Smartphone-Clamp-Game-Clip-For-Microsoft-Xbox-One-xbox-1-Game-Controller-For-Iphone-Samsung-Sony-HTC-LG-Huawei/dp/B01MSX55FM
I have no idea if any of the Xbox one phone clips for sale on amazon and eBay actually work for the Elite controller either (might interfere with the paddles), and I've also heard some of them scratch controllers because of the way the friction fit works for em. Just something to keep in mind since I'm sure you don't want to scratch your $150 controller.
In the future, I hope we see wii remote support. Then we just have to get creative about how to attach the wii remote to the xbox one controller. Perhaps like this?
https://static.gamespot.com/uploads/original/1535/15354745/2875204-2546845048-tumbl.jpg
Or maybe a 3D printed clip? Just some thoughts. I've already done 116 shrines on Cemu on BotW so I don't see myself ever trying any of this myself. Maybe. I kind of want gyro bow controls, or maybe another wii u game that requires the gyro will catch my interest.
A few companies make clips for the controller that will fasten the controller to the phone. I'd personally be inclined just to get a PopSocket or a Spigen-style loop, but these clips do seem pretty popular. I don't have any experience with it, but here's the one I saw mentioned most often: https://www.amazon.com/Dainslef-Controller-Smartphone-Microsoft-Steelseries/dp/B01MSX55FM/ref=pd_bxgy_147_2/142-1368326-0277201?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01MSX55FM&pd_rd_r=97f603b5-6395-11e9-8c99-472c1499fd9d&pd_rd_w=apvEX&pd_rd_wg=Fkh4N&pf_rd_p=a2006322-0bc0-4db9-a08e-d168c18ce6f0&pf_rd_r=VB8K4C101QCXCN5GGEAK&psc=1&refRID=VB8K4C101QCXCN5GGEAK
Xbox one s controller.
I've used them all. 8bitdo, Gamesir etc etc. They all pale in comparison to the build quality and versatility of the real thing. I combine it with a phone clip I bought on Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01MSX55FM/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503518159&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=Xbox+Phone+clip&dpPl=1&dpID=51MnZCCgXQL&ref=plSrch)
Only issues you may have is that its not perfectly portable (but it's not exactly bulky either) and the BT connection isn't 100% with every phone. I've never had a problem using it with both Sony and Samsung handsets but I've heard of others having issues with other brands. If you have an Xbox owning friend with one they might let you test it first.
these are really good for the price and there are the 700 series that cost alittle more but i honestly am very happy with the 600 series

I use the turtle beach headset adapter since it came free with the turtle beach xo ones. Similar to the normal adapter, but perhaps there are a few differences in audio delay due to the bass boost or internal workings.
Anyway for 1) I find that my audio calibration fluctuates when using a controller wirelessly with the adapter. 80% of play sessions it sits around 90ms, but it can range between 75-120ms when I do manual calibration. That's probably more than your TV settings? But perhaps close to a surround sound setup. Compare!
If wires aren't a problem, plugging in the controller by usb seems to drop the lag number and make it consistent. Plus, you won't have to waggle a thumbstick to keep the it from falling asleep every 15 minutes. As for the cable between the controller and headset, I place the controller on the right and have it run across to my left ear and it never gets in the way. I don't know much about Bluetooth headphones, but hope this helps!
The Stereo Headset Adapter has a mute button and some volume control for game audio and mic audio. Official Microsoft Version, and here's the Turtle Beach version. They both work with whatever normal headphones you have, you don't need anything fancy. I use cheap earbuds with the Turtle Beach one.
Buy this it will make it easier to use and give you more sound options:

no worries fam just grab one of these and you can play with one hand. you can remap any button fuction anywhere and there are 4 paddles on the back (two on the right) so the only issue might be using the left stick for looking but no one does that anyways. Amazon says "hello."
Have you read all of the reviews on amazon? Is the 90 day warranty true? $150 is a little steep when you consider that the Xbox 1 is selling for under 200 used with a controller. I'd guess the price drops later this year, and definitely next.

They are a bit more pricey, but they're there.
You can get the Microsoft one that has a lot more features and an extra mic for $30, or you can get an Ortz chatpad that has less features and is $25. I really like my Microsoft one. You can map keys to do certain things, like pull up the friends list or take a game clip in the push of a button. There's a lot of complaints on Amazon about the Microsoft one but I've never had a problem.
Why isn't Cortana available in your geographical location? I didn't know that was region specific.

Yeah. It's going for $40 right now, cheaper than I thought. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01541ACLQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_MMmxCb10Q2BYP
What's the difference between what you're looking for and this?
The most detailed information I've found is from https://imgur.com/gallery/QHtqd along with http://forums.harmonixmusic.com/discussion/86886/diy-cymbals-and-e-cymbals-in-rock-band-2 (second link for information on the cymbals, wired differently than the rest).
I haven't been able to try doing it yet, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work on a Nitro kit.
After it's wired, I believe, all you'll need to do is get the wireless adapter: https://smile.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Legacy-Game-Controller-Adapter/dp/B01541ACLQ/
https://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Legacy-Game-Controller-Adapter/dp/B01541ACLQ It definitely looks like they still make them. I own this actually and I haven't had too many problems with it, but I have a Rock Band 3 kit and it can only use one kick pedal, which has been disappointing.
I don't think that one is even out yet.
I'm talking about the normal one:
https://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Legacy-Game-Controller-Adapter/dp/B01541ACLQ
It sounds like you already have instruments from X360/PS3. If thats the case you don't need new instruments, just a legacy adapter. You can find them on Amazon here:
https://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Legacy-Game-Controller-Adapter/dp/B01541ACLQ
If you have wired instruments there is a wired legacy adapter being released soon by PDP.
If you don't have any instruments already then band-in-box rivals edition would probably be best. Some people tend to prefer legacy GH guitar controllers and RB drum controllers. Just my opinion :)
Amazon states that they're in stock.
I just bought one yesterday and got an email saying that it shipped so if I get a cardboard box with a not saying "no" inside I'll be pissed.
Did you need the PDP brand adapter? I found this legacy Mad Catz one on Amazon. I’m a PS4 player (for RB4 anyway, so if this isn’t the same thing I apologize).
https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01541ACLQ/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new
It's definitely still available, unlike something I'd want, a TAC ps2 to ps3 guitar adapter because the gh2 guitar is really good.
Drum MIDI out to RB3 PRO-adapter to RB4 Legacy Adapter. Or, alternatively, if you have the Rockband IONs, you only need the Legacy Adapter.

Yeah. The Xbox One S has an infared blaster I'm pretty sure. So it should work with pretty much any TV. That's how it controls cable boxes if you use that.
This is the remote I have https://www.amazon.com/Talon-Media-Remote-Control-Blu-ray-Streaming/dp/B01GOK34SO/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_63_t_0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=VTZZ81ZWAAS87B8NV6JP&dpID=315Qbn6Jr8L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=detail
I have an offbrand sound bar with only optical like yourself, I connected it to my xbox since that was mostly what we use for entertainment and games and we controlled the volume with this remote

I got a PS4 Pro and a Switch so when using those inputs there was no soundbar action happening, I connected it to my TV and when it's on my xbox I still use same remote to control the volume, when on a different input I have to use the soundbar remote unfortunately, there isn't a way to control an optical cable soundbar with a different remote
So, besides the size, why is this better than (for example) this one? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GOK34SO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SxO5CbRKQH274
I use this remote and it works flawlessly. https://www.amazon.com/PDP-Talon-Media-Remote-Xbox-One/dp/B01GOK34SO
This is the remote that I have and it does all that you described. Only 20 bucks.
PDP Talon Media Remote Control for Xbox One, TV, Blu-ray & Streaming Media
I would add Eventghost to the list (based on Phyton), with that you can automate some tasks (example.... if this exebutable is opened do this and that or else..... if this window is focused or non focused do this or that and stuff like that).

As for the remote, I would recommend you the non official "Xbox Remote" from PDP (Performance Designed Products) with combination of FLIRC USB, that mentioned remote even has "motion backlit" for all the buttons (white) just like "keyboard backlits" but the difference is that the "lights" turns off on itself after some seconds if you dont move your remote which ofc saves your battery:

One thing I should mention about this remote is that you need to be careful because the case can easy wear out if you dont treat it well (avoid water, fluids in general and everything will be fine).
Fair enough, I've found I enjoy the Xbox One's media steaming capabilities a lot more after getting one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01GOK34SO?smid=A15VZOEIYN32FC&linkCode=df0&creative=22218&creativeASIN=B01GOK34SO&tag=geizhals-am-21
The best one is the talon remote. PDP Talon Media Remote for Xbox One https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GOK34SO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ehKIzbNRPVXZE
I currently run my cable box through my Xbox One and use this remote to turn on my cable, Soundbar and TV. Will the Harmony be able to replace my current remote and control everything?
I’ve had much better results with this one. Buttons still light up and it has more functions to boot.

Honestly, I have both. I had the cheap one for about a year then I "assumed" the $50.00 one was better so when I bought a 1X I bought the more expensive remote. After using it for about a year I went through my drawers until I found the cheap one I was using with my 1S and swapped. Now I am much happier. It's Amazon. Buy both and decide for yourself and return the one you don't want.
I might be wrong but have you something in the way blocking the IR, between the remote and the xbox.
I had the same problem, I assumed it was bluetooth but its not, its IR.
I have this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GOK34SO/

To get that to work, you need this and this so it only works on the Xbox One version. You can also use a second bass pedal with the stock kit if you want, though none of the current supported songs have fully charted double bass.

It’s not ergonomic enough to sell an iPad product like that en mass. Best bet would be to wait for iOS to update with controller support & mix your Phone with a stand like this:

>Googles own website where you go to preorder the console. It was the first link when I googled Google Stadia so it should be easy to find.
>If their list of "games available on the platform" includes games that wont be available for over a year... as well as some that have no estimated release date what so ever... well, that's enough for me to consider it an untrustworthy practice, but I suppose individual opinions may vary.
Agree to disagree on that. Any platform will show games available down the line, Steam, PSN Store or Microsoft Store. I don't think advertising games that aren't available instantly is a negative.
>If I understand the service... it's just streaming the games from another device.
Yes.
>It's a safe assumption it has a USB dongle that connects it to the computer. It would cost then pennies on the dollar to add an male HDMI cable to the dongle. This is literally all a chromecast is outside its OS.
I'm confused what you mean, you do realise that the preorder is just a controller + a chromecast ultra, right? There's no "USB dongle"?
>Prior streaming services like this were able to connect to the TV and were sold explicitly for this purpose. Unfortunately they were all short lived as streaming even videos at the time was demanding and the latency for games was unacceptable...
To be fair, I'm really enjoying this new streaming tech and I've played tens of hours of CS:GO comp/Overwatch/Ubisoft games via Parsec/GEForce Now/etc..., while none have been perfect they are all perfectly acceptable. My main issue with GeForce now is that it seems to be capped at 60FPS and often goes all blurry. Latency has been nothing but perfect though.
>It's hard to view this as anything other than google removing a vital feature so they have an excuse to sell more chromecast.
What do you mean "remove a vital feature"? What feature are they removing?

I can’t speak for this model exactly, but a clip of this sort really makes gaming on the phone more enjoyable.
I just did the same, with my iPhone X. I’m using the SteelSeries Nimbus wireless controller and it is working very well. I also picked up a clip that attaches the phone to the controller - I’m not certain it would be large enough to accommodate a 7 Plus, but it is more than large enough for the X while in its case.

My project for this weekend is figuring out how to get r-play to work while I’m away from my home WiFi network - it didn’t automatically configure for me and gave me an “incompatible router” message but it looks like I can still set it up manually, if I can puzzle it out. Then, I’ll have a completely portable PlayStation so long as I keep the controller in my bag.

Actually yeah I use one of these ( https://www.amazon.com/Controller-Foldable-Smartphone-Microsoft-Steelseries/dp/B01MSX55FM ). It works alright if you don't take the controller out of the clip often (which I do). It hits the pair button when you put it on which makes it frustrating to take in and out.
I bought one of these to attach my phone to my Xbox One controller. When my Stadia controller arrived, I tried it on Stadia, and while slightly more snug than on the Xbone controller, I can confirm that it does fit and works like a charm. I bet this one is a lot cheaper than the claw that Google sells.
Just a option as I've seen many clip on for the xbox controller recently.

I’m sure there are a ton for more hardcore gamers than me, but I use the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 and love them. They’re wireless but have a good charge life, charge quickly, very comfortable (I have glasses too) and you just flip the mic up to mute which is super convenient for me compared to old pairs. They’re also much more durable than previous pairs.
You can definitely find better, I’m sure, but they’re def worth checking out for a cheaper price tag. Good luck with whatever you decide!

When you unplug your controllers, do you do it by grabbing the base and pulling it out or do you just tug on the wire so it pops off easily? I used to do this and eventually that messed up the wiring and I could only hear out of it but couldn’t talk.
As far as recommendations go, I think it would be worth it to drop the money on something decent. I personally use the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 and I love it. Have never had any issues with it.

It seems to fit and hold my phone fine, but admittedly I haven't used it much as I can't name a single smartphone game that I actually want to play. The mobile Halo knockoff game (NOVA something, I think) does not support Bluetooth controllers, only touchscreen controls!

>It is. Which is why i dont agree with people bitching about how "slow" the switches hardware is. If the games on it are good (which they are), why the fuck does it matter?
Dead Cells is a fine example of why it matters.
It's a great game if you have even the most remote interest in Metroidvanias. It runs like shit on the Switch. The crappy framerates of the game significantly impact the gameplay in a game where careful timing and reflexes are required.
>I have a 3ds. While yes, they have good games, most of them are clerly designed to be purely portable games. Not to mention the fact that with my large hands, i find holding the 3ds for longer than 10 minuets at a time to be very uncomfortable. Which is why the switch is better. Not only is it more comfortable in hand held, not only can i have multiple controller options, but i can dock it and play it on my TV as well.
They make grip cases for both the Switch and the 3DS that significantly improve their feel. My hands hurt holding either of them outside their cases. For the Switch, I recommend the Satisfye grip although the Skull and Co Gripcase is a close second. For the 3ds, I personally use the Monster Hunter Cross that I've modded with a rubberized grip. This is a pretty expensive option, however, so there are cheaper ones for people who don't want to invest that much.
>Exactly. And my PC does PC things and is a superior gaming machine to my Switch. But most games that i can play on one or the other, most time, i prefer the switch. I have emulators on my phone as well. But id still rather have those games on the switch because its a better platform for gaming than a Phone is.
I disagree. I use a cheap little xbox controller phone clip to hold my phone when I game. The controller connects bluetooth and provides a generally superior experience to gaming with my Switch. My phone has better audio, a better screen, and a more powerful processor. It also has free cloud saves and can connect to the internet without wifi (anbd has a superior wifi antennae).
>Ill take the taller screen, but even that said.. your arguing over .2" as if its a huge deal. Its not.
No, it's not. The OLED vs LED is though.

I have a wired 360 pad (but /u/Vulfilla posted a link to the wireless one) and I can say that I am very happy with the ergonomics, I have an old one with both sticks on the bottom, like the Logitech, and I feel that the 360 layout of having one stick at the top is much more comforable.
You might consider an Xbox One Controller, which people describe as being even more ergonomic, or a PS4 Controller.
My Favorites are the Xbox 360 controller and the Xbox One. Those two work with every game and the buttons show up correctly since both Windows and Xbox are made by Microsoft.

The Microsoft-made Xbox One S does not come with rechargeable batteries. There are a few good options on Amazon, including MS's Play and Charge kit:

I've always loved the [Xbox charge and play ](Xbox One Play and Charge Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DBDPOZ4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_igXNybQ695YP0). The battery pack last a long time and you just plug in and keep playing while it charges (charges fast also). Had for the 360 and worked perfectly for 6 years. Had it for xb1 since day 1.
My girlfriend picked up a pair of Duracel Rechargables for us and they've been working great.
If you prefer the Microsoft route it's always reliable.
Or the ever popular Eneloop Rechargables
All 3 of those options last quite a long time, I've only tried the Duracel's but they've been fantastic for such a cheap price.
yes, cable is ncluded i hope.. so thats all... if you want to play wireless, you would need:
this, and this
To get an xbox one controller to play wirelessly on PC you need this one. It comes with a dongle.
I just got that one and the play and charge kit, which gives you a recharging battery pack for it. The pack will only charge if you use the micro USB cable that came with the kit, FYI. I felt like a dunce when I finally figured out that's why it wasn't charging,
havent tried yet, but i found this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/5bxc0f/anyone_have_any_luck_with_xbox_one_bluetooth/
I can give it a shot when I get home, think I have a bluetooth adapter floating around somewhere.
i dont think youll need to connect them through usb first as youll be making a connection via bluetooth
there's only one micro-usb port in the top. the bottom is a jack for headphones and a plug for controller accessories (such as xb1 keypad)
i highly recommend the play and charge kit for charging, the battery lasts a long time wirelessly (longer than ps4--i have both systems):
https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Play-Charge-Kit/dp/B00DBDPOZ4
If you haven't gotten one yet, I use a rechargeable battery pack with the charge cable. This way you can play if your controller runs low on juice instead of just charging and waiting.

This not be your issue but I had similar problems with the xbone controller. Generally I found the reason to be the batteries were not seated completely in the compartment. I ended up buying this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EADTVLW/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Its not really that special for $40 (just 1100 mAh NiMh baterries) but the battery pack fits snug and secure in the compartment (uh kind of like the 360 controller). I have not had a problem with the controller since.

Force Feedback, and the ability to upgrade to a stick shift and/or 3 pedals. $286 USD. Normally $400.
I actually think i got a great deal, i got the xb1 on ebay for $314 (With kinect) 2 controllers and 3 games. Bought forza horizon 2 and this thing http://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-Ferrari-Edition-xbox-one-Windows/dp/B00ENFVS5Y and i can't complain.
Please note the differences between the Thrustmaster TX and the TMX.
The one you want is definitely the TX , with swappable rims and pedals, and the optional 6 speed shifter.
I suspect most (some?) of the people mentioning the TMX are actually referring to the TX: https://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-Racing-Ferrari-xbox-one-Windows/dp/B00ENFVS5Y
Edit:
TMX and TMX Pro are the same entry tier wheel, except for the pedals (Pro has the 3 pedal model)
TX is the mid level THrustMaster wheel (swappable rims). You should add the 3TPA pedals to that.

Yea heres a link to the TX if youre reusing your pedals.

Does anybody know if this would work with the Scuf?
I think you have the Nyko Charge Base. Can you confirm this? Is your unit USB-powered or AC powered?
I honestly can't speak highly enough of this charger and the cost is generally similar to $20
Nyko Charge Base - Xbox One https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FLLFJE0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_TigGwb41V88KZ
I have nothing but good things to say about the nyko one. It lights up a controllers corresponding front panel to indicate when charging starts, the battery packs last for hours and hours and hours and nothing about the setup is gaudy or obnoxious.
I've been using mine everyday since 2013 and have had zero issues. http://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Charge-Base-Xbox-One/dp/B00FLLFJE0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1450171633&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox+one+nyko+charge
I guess I was thinking something more like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Charge-Base-Xbox-One/dp/B00FLLFJE0/
it doesn't remove your ability to swap batteries on the fly, but you could still have a set that is easily charged without popping them out of the controller. I rarely play more than 2 to 3 hours at a time, and then they sit overnight. Dropping them on a charging dock would make life simple. With this solution I doubt I would ever run out during mid play.
Your right, its really hard and time consuming to swap in two batteries into a controller and put the two old batteries in a charger.
But yeah it is convenient to have a dock, nyko makes one that is fine.
I have this one
https://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Charge-Base-Xbox-One/dp/B00FLLFJE0
It worked well for a couple months, and then stopped working. I emailed their support and they sent me a shipping label to ship it back to them. 3 days after they received it, i got a new one at my door.
Eneloops are probably the best or the Amazon basics which are the same thing. Those are the best if you just want rechargeable AA batteries.
But... I prefer the Nyko rechargeable battery and charge dock. Just drop your controller on here when your done and never worry about it again. I have this charger and have never run the battery out in a single play session.
Amazon link
I purchased the Nyko Charge Base. The charge on the batteries lasts for many hours, and it doesn't take long to chhrge them, around an hour for a full charge.
http://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Charge-Base-Xbox-One/dp/B00FLLFJE0
Regarding the headset, if you have the money, I'd suggest the Turtle Beach Ear Force XO Seven.
>I've got a pair myself and it's absolutely the coolest thing I have for my Xbox One. See, the Xbox One will actually send game audio over the wireless controller. This means that you can turn off or mute your sound system and only use the headset for both chat and game audio. It's been incredibly handy for me when I want to play a game, but my wife is asleep. Even better is that I can watch Netflix or YouTube the same way. The adapter it comes with has buttons that allow you to turn down the game audio relative to chat volume as well, so if your game audio is overbearing or you only want to use the headset for chat, you can.
>Now, there is a cheaper version of the XO Seven called the XO Four. It runs about eighty bucks, but it doesn't have a noise cancelling mic. Depending on how loud your sound system is, this may or may not be a big deal for you. Regardless of which one you choose, they both come with the stereo headset adapter so everything you need is included.
>You will probably have to update your controller's firmware before you use it, though. It's easy, and the instructions for doing so are included with the headset. Just make sure you've got a micro USB cable handy.
I'd also suggest the Nyko Charge Base for Xbox One.
> Nothing beats rechargeable batteries. Having a place to keep your controller and charge it is just awesome. I've had mine since the Xbox One was released and I've never once had any issues or even had to bother charging my controller in the middle of a play session. It's great to be able to set the controller in the charging dock when you aren't using it and have a fully-charged battery the next time you use it.
I think its the dock thats broken, as soon as I put them on to charge the charging light goes on for a half second then thats it. It has two separate places to put the controller to charge and neither of them work. I have a portable charger but no cable to connect it to the controller, so I was just curious to see if it'd work before I go out and buy one
its one of these BTW

If you're nervous about haveing a camera in the livingroom this may be a good buy
his tv is very thin, yours is very thick. i'm not sure how well the gorillapod will work in that situation. i recently bought a second xb1 w/ the titanfall bundle. i bought it to put it in the livingroom for the wife and kids (no one messes with daddy's xb1 time). i bought this mount:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FYMTUQY/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
it works pretty well, costs $19 and feels secure. it also has a hood that covers the camera if you feel the need for that (i don't bother, let the world see my frank & beans, i don't care.... though my wife would feel different if she knew).

Are you using your TV speakers? I recall in the recommended setup / positioning for the kinect they recommend not placing it directly in front of your speakers, which your picture seems to imply. It also looks like it is at or under the minimum recommended height from your floor. I had my positioned much like yours and felt it didn't hear me / see me as good as it should. I purchased this mount (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FYMTUQY) as a test and greatly improved the area of view of the device and feel like it hears voice commands better.
Amazon has it cheaper. Was $21 when I bought it 5 months back,

Optical to RCA Adapter
Chat Adapter
Optical cable
It sounds way more complicated than it is, just connect everything up all fine and you're good, I even think running the x12s through Optical instead of just RCA makes them sound a lot better, but that could just be me.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Official-Xbox-Stereo-Headset-Adapter/dp/B00I41H7US/
Is that the adapter?
this thing
Stereo Headset Adapter plugs into the controller you then plug any headset with a 3.5mm cable into that and get audio wirelessly through your controller.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Official-Xbox-Stereo-Headset-Adapter/dp/B00I41H7US/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421229671&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox+stereo+headset+adapter
Other option is if you have a pair of speakers with a 3.5mm or RCA jacks on it to then buy a DAC Digital SPDIF converter. This is USB powered and plugs into your Xbox One SPDIF port, you then plug your speakers that either have a 3.5mm plug or RCA jacks into this and voila you get audio out of your speakers without the need of having to use headphones or a stereo headset adapter into the controller.

i have heard very good things about this headset
Under $50 and I LOVE this headset. Well worth the price. Works great for PS4 even though its Xbox Branded.
Xbox One Stereo Headset https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IAVDQCK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Zr8-zbZD6F3C0
I've had these for over a year now. I just put them on a headset stand on my desk after using.

This is by far the best bang for your buck! UNDER $60 for the headset and the universal adapter needed for any headsets/headphones of any quality/functionality!
Personally since I have the PS4, I chose the Playstation Wireless Gold Stereo Headset paired with the Official Headset Adapter. The sound is great and it's amazingly comfortable. You're able to plug it into cell phones, computers, and anything with an auxiliary input! It runs for $99, but I suppose that for $79 you can get the official Xbox Headset too, though it only works with the Xbox One.
PS: Amazon prices are MUCH cheaper than retail prices just in case you didn't know :)
Comes with the adaptor you need.
Requires a USB plug for power (Not sure if Macs have spare USBs?) but has better audio quality than the Xbone headset.
This mic for Xbox One I bought recently and it's a great price: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Stereo-Headset/dp/B00IAVDQCK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1408815286&sr=8-2&keywords=xbox+one+stereo
I'm not really into talking in game chat but it's great for talking with friends and listening to game audio. Plus you can plug earbuds into the adapter too if you just want audio.
http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Stereo-Headset/dp/B00IAVDQCK/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1405318772&sr=1-1&keywords=xbox+one+stereo+headset
Kraken, the USB powered or the audio and microphone (green and pink cable) one? If it is the USB, it doesn't work. If it is the two cable version, you need a Microsoft Headset Adapter and a Converter. My recommendation? Just buy the Microsoft Stereo Headset.
Yup, that's the one I'm currently using with it! I assume you mean this one.
It's an official headset.
Yesterday I was playing a mission with my headset plugged in and halfway through the mission (my first one after undocking the controller from the charger), my controller disconnects from the game in the middle of a firefight due to the battery dying. My character ended up getting killed - my first solo pve death. I was sad.
Maybe it didn't dock right on the cradle and wasn't actually fully charged. I didn't check the battery level before playing. I just assumed it was due to the headset because without the headset my battery life has been excellent.
I do also have an Astro A50 I am considering moving off my PC to my xbox, as it has its own power source. The only downside is it has more configuration to undergo and there doesn't seem to be any app to test my microphone to make sure it is working.
The headset that comes with the console is good enough to communicate with people, but if you can afford to or you have some room on your Christmas gift list, even consider the Xbox One Stereo Headset. For their price, they are fantastic. Audio is nice and clear with a pretty decent frequency range and the voice chat is super easy to balance with the game volume. It also comes with the adapter that lets you plug any headphones into your controller and use them which is about $20 by itself anyway. So the one you get is fine to use and you will be able to chat fine, but if you talk a whole lot and want something cost effective but still very good, I would suggest having a bit more of a look into that headset :)
Sounds like the Microsoft branded one may be the right buy. (includes adapter)

Alternately, I'm using these and loving them
http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Wireless-Digital-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B00B3PDHBU
You'd need the chat adapter for the mic, though. The HUUUGE upside to these is I can also connected to a bluetooth device and listen to tunes while I game.
The reality though... these are the ones you'll want (when they release)

If i get this Xbox one stereo headset is there a way i can get it to work for my pc as well?
xbox stereo headset comes with an adapter
http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Stereo-Headset/dp/B00IAVDQCK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458404326&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox+stereo+headset
I have this one and really like it. Not the greatest headset on the market, but I was able to pick it up cheap. Game and chat audio come through, and it comes with the stereo adapter for the OG controller.
For that price, Microsoft's own stereo headset has pretty good reviews on sound quality and comfort. https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Stereo-Headset-360/dp/B00IAVDQCK
Great deal on this headset right now that matches your price point! :)

I bought the XB1 play and charge kit - well worth the money. Comes with a rechargable battery pack and a micro usb cable for charging (which also fits a phone so you can charge it on the XB1 if you desire). Regarding the Kinect, I love mine and use it all the time. I highly recommend you try it. Nothing quite like controlling your media/tv with your voice. I walk into the house and simply say "Xbox on" and my whole setup lights up - I can change channels/music while cleaning too which is boss. Welcome to the club!!!
This guy has on-and-off been sold for $40 (typically $55-$60) and is the best off-the-rack set of wireless 'phones for the money. The cord you see plugs into the XBone controller. Good stuff really.
Not quite the sound odyssey of those Turtle Beaches but for the econo player they're nice.
Didn't realize this. I'll definitely be getting the PS4 edition. It mentions that voice chat for the Xbox One requires an additional cable that's sold separately. Are they referring to the headset adaptor?
Considering most third party headsets need the adapter I suggest getting the Xbox One Stereo Headset since it comes with one and the Headset + adapter is currently cheaper than the adapter alone. I bought one a few hours ago for 35$ but now looks like it went up to 40$, still a better deal. You can upgrade later on since you now have the adapter.
http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Stereo-Headset/dp/B00IAVDQCK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417491711&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox+one+stereo+headset
For some reason when you search it on Amazon, the listing is from a third party which is selling it for more than $25. If you go to the amazon listing for the headset, then you can select just the adapter for $25 from amazon.
been eyeing the official Xbox headset for a while... can anyone give me a review?

http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Stereo-Headset/dp/B00IAVDQCK
You can usually find it on sale for $40.
You mean this? It can't connect directly to a headset, it goes through the controller, either using the adapter to convert it to a regular 3.5" combined headphone/speaker jack, or using the official headset that plugs straight into the controller.
I'd say to just upgrade to something newer, instead of buying a converter, a new higher quality headset would be much more satisfying to have. Even the simple [Xbox One Headset] (http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Stereo-Headset/dp/B00IAVDQCK) would be good for you.
Let me know your price range, and ill find some good headsets for you if you want!

After looking up the replacement sticks specifically for the Switch Pro on Amazon, it looks like they share the same design but the skirt size and depth might not work. If they aren’t just right, they’ll come in contact with the rocker or the casing and be useless.
You might be interested in knowing that most analogue pots (the things that the analog joysticks are put onto) are reverse compatible with other analog sticks.
That is to say, if you have a controller you prefer for hand feel, and another you prefer for analogue stick feel, odds are you can buy the analogue joysticks online and swap 'em out. It's like eight screws, and they pop right off.
On this Amazon page, you can see someone replaced the PS4 joysticks with the XBox One joysticks.
My 360 controller's joystick broke, and I replaced with the joystick from a Duke. It works!
This happens to all of mine. Eventually it will start hanging on the outer shell and not return to center by itself. I bought these. Takes 10 minutes to swap out.

http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Stealth-Premium-Wireless-Headphone/dp/B00KSQACMM Heard good things about them. These are only ones I seen at or below $200 that weren't refurbished.
Heh, then you got to add quite a lot of pounds.
You're loking for something like the 500X Stealth:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Turtle-Beach-Stealth-Wireless-Headphone/dp/B00KSQACMM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417969069&sr=8-1&keywords=X500+stealth
You're not gonna find a 100% wireless headset for the Xbox One for under £40, or even under £190.
I have these and I pretty much love the crap out of them:

Turtle Beach Stealths are on sale at Amazon and Best Buy for $199
Also if you go to your local UsPs and get a movers packet there is a 10% off coupon bring the price to $180ish

Good call! I forgot that model existed. I noticed it has the exact same design as the 500P headset i own for PS4. I'm not very happy with that headset the plastic they use for the hinges are really cheap and crack easily and the headband part just isn't comfortable but that's just my opinion, to be fair I know other people who own the design and have no problems with it so i might just be picky.
-Edit- Here's a link to the 500X for decent prices
I have the turtle beach 500X stealth. I love them.

Not the same one, but I have one I got off Amazon. They make them in white too, as well as Dualshock 4 and Xbox 360 versions
get something like this and a couple of these for the controllers and it becomes a really awesome setup. Well, it's already awesome, just needs some tidying up.
Luckily, Amazon appears to have it.
It's the Controller Gear Controller Stand
Thanks!
this is the controller stand
http://www.amazon.com/Controller-Gear-Xbox-One-Stand/dp/B00PRDEZN8
its nothing special but it is really cheap ($5). It also has a compartment to store a couple batteries
The headphone stand is this I think
http://www.amazon.com/Brainwavz-Gypsum-Headphone-Stand-Sizes/dp/B00D741DRK/ref=sr_1_29?ie=UTF8&qid=1453932233&sr=8-29&keywords=headphone+stand
I can't find the turtle beach ear force adapter anywhere to purchase. Can someone provide an amazon link for me? Thanks a lot!
EDIT: Looks like I found it..is this the right one..for $40? https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Headset-Controller-Superhuman-Hearing/dp/B00PWRYKDE/ref=sr_1_8?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1469390457&sr=1-8&keywords=xbox+one+ear+force
Looked on amazon for mine and got a turtle beach audio adapter that comes with some extra features for about $40 (https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Headset-Controller-Superhuman-Hearing/dp/B00PWRYKDE/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1540687064&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=xbox+one+audio+adapter) but otherwise there are some 3rd part audio adapters and of course the official xbox one audio adapters but from what I saw they were $60 USD or more.
Nope.

I vote for the play and charge kit. first, the official one uses a Lithium Ion battery, which is nice. second, swapping batteries in the middle of a gaming session is less convenient than plugging a cord in.
Nyko charge base $21 I own this and it last me a really long time with heavy gaming.
Microsoft play and charge kit $24
Nyko play and charge: 2 batteries $15 1 battery $6
https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Stereo-Headset/dp/B00IAVDQCK i have these and their amazing
The Microsoft headset (this one) includes the adapter, and can be found relatively cheap.
They're not the greatest headset ever, but they're decent enough for the price.

I think one of these would be mountable in a similar way to what you have in your picture. It's not exactly the same as it would take up a little more shelf space, but it would be similar.
Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller
Rock Band 4 - Legacy Game... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01541ACLQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Xbox 360 Rock Band 3 Midi... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00409SOD2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
These are the two items I have. I have a midi in and out cable connected to the pro adapter. No luck on turning it on though.
My bad, by your previous messages I had gathered that you liked the PS4. My mistake, I guess? /s
I'll just leave you the link anyway; controlling media without dedicated playback buttons is so outdated... almost as annoying as changing batteries. (shudders)

If you're from the US, it seems like the cheapest option right now is to buy the Rock Band 4 Rivals Jaguar Bundle (Found here) and then buy the PDP Wired Legacy Adapter to use your electronic kit (Found here , but it seems to be out of stock currently).
Even if you don't play guitar, the bundle seems to be the cheapest way to buy the game for Xbox One currently, as there doesn't seem to be a standalone disc version of RB4 for Xbox One (closest there is comes with the Wireless Legacy Game Controller)
> wired adapter
well really i mean they have this wired adapter https://www.amazon.com/PDP-Rock-Band-Wired-Legacy-Adapter/dp/B01MDJWJH9/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1483035607&sr=1-1&keywords=rock+band+4+wired+adapter

I use the 700 version which is very limited in its difference. These are very nice because they actually pair to your Xbox in the same way that your controller does. They use Windows Sonic which was referenced above and it does a nice job with footsteps. I think with your price point you can't go wrong with these. I will advise that I have a pretty large head and it took some wearing before I adjusted to the feel of these but I don't think someone with a smaller to normal sized head would have the same experience. No matter what you do its important that when you get your gaming headset you go to your settings and change the audio type to the appropriate setting(Sonic, Atmos etc).
Turtle Beach Stealth 600s
i just got these and they are amazing. and only $80 at best buy. I did wish i sprung the extra $25 and got the stealth 700s because they also have bluetooth.
But even without bluetooth, i find these to sound fantastic. I use them almost all the time im watching tv/movies or games. My surround sound is barely on anymore.
I assume you mean the Stealth 600? https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Stealth-Wireless-Surround-Gaming-Headset/dp/B071ZRTMXF/
I tried them, but ultimately returned them. The audio quality was poor IMO and the range could barely go to the next room.
Why does linus act like PC gamers can't game causally?

Get one of these instead. Bonus you now always know where your chargers are because you lay them down on the base when your done playing.
Check out the reviews here. Has a rating of 4.1 / 5 based on 360 customer reviews.
It's too late for him at this point. The covers will only fit properly on undamaged thumbsticks. The only solution now is for him to get a new set of thumbsticks on Amazon.
I recommend aluminum ones:

But if you prefer rubber, you can't go wrong with X1 versions:

There's a turtle beach one that's specifically made for the xbox one that's coming out in October. I believe that's the best there is as far as headsets specifically made for the xbox one

Holy shit if I can stream Steam games to my phone and use one of these I might pee my pants.
You need an adapter. https://www.amazon.com/PDP-Rock-Band-Wired-Legacy-Adapter/dp/B01MDJWJH9 I bought mine for $30 and use my electric set.
