I recommend buying the $15 Legacy adapter and buy used Xbox 360 instruments separately. That should be cheaper than buying the Rock Band 4 bundle.

u/TerminalSarcasm · 14 pointsr/Rockband

$300? There is a used one on Amazon for $800.

Honestly, it's fucking sick, because that's just preventing people who want to start/keep playing - and buying DLC to support continuation - from actually doing so. I feel like not only is the lack of hardware slowly killing the game, but we're also part of the problem by screwing over the community. I'd likely pick up an X1 and get rolling if it weren't for the PDP wired debacle.

That being said, dude gets nearly $1k for a $10 item, more power to 'em, I guess.

  • Far Cry 1
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer + Chaos Bleeds
  • LEGO Harry Potter
  • Wolfenstein (2009)
  • The Simpsons Game + Hit & Run
  • Guitar Hero & Rock Band (I know they say it's impossible but I think it's bullshit considering there are adapters out already. I think one of the reasons those games are not as popular now is because people don't want to spend $$$ on instruments when they already have them)
  • Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 (I know they were only on PS2 but it would be nice since the new one is coming out soon and it's getting an Xbox version)
  • Tomb Raider: Legend & Anniversary
  • Saints Row 1 & 2
  • F.E.A.R.
  • Ultimate Spider-Man

You should look into the Brook X One Adapter.
I plugged it into my XBox Elite Controller (Series 1) and use it wirelessly with my PS4, paddles and all. I can even switch it back to use on my PC fairly easily with a few button presses.

Here’s the newest version of it on Amazon:

u/mossse · 8 pointsr/Rockband

Actually, the WT kit should work with RB4 if you have the MadCatz legacy adapter. (

u/No1s_On_Meth · 8 pointsr/Rockband
u/WestcoastWonder · 6 pointsr/xboxone

Looks like this one works (third party) but also has the charging light:

u/b_reachard · 6 pointsr/Rockband

If you want to get into RB4, get an Xbox One. You're in luck since you've already exported everything into RB3. It's $15 to import 3 into 4. If you missed out on exporting Green Day RB, all of those songs are still available as DLC.

As for instruments, check thrift stores, Facebook marketplace, Craigslist, etc. If you can find the wireless 360 instruments, you can get an adapter for them to use them on the Xbox one, but It's a bit pricier than it used to be. Xbox One controllers are a bit harder to come by, but if you're lucky you can find them cheap.

u/C_Rufio · 6 pointsr/Rockband

You need the adapter.

Rock Band 4 - Legacy Game Controller Adapter for Xbox One

u/HMXOwl · 6 pointsr/Rockband

We've got a chart on here:

that has a line saying, "For all wireless legacy Xbox controllers, you will need to purchase the Legacy Game Controller Adapter."

Throw that name into Amazon and voila:

u/Backfjre · 6 pointsr/Rockband
  • Yes! All wireless guitars from last gen with 5 buttons work with this, same with plastic drums from either RB or GH. On PS4 I believe wired instruments work too without the adapter even.

  • For Rock Band 3's songs just go to the store and click imports to buy all RB3 songs. For DLC Just go down the list of songs (I sorted by difficulty and went by section) and anything that says purchased hit a and download!

  • Online is being 'heavily discussed' and has a good chance of making it to the game at some point. Once past DLC and games are all importable then we'll start to hear and see about bigger updates to the game most likely.
u/ihatecompvir · 6 pointsr/Rockband

That legacy adapter you linked is for wireless instruments. The Midi adapter is wired and can only be used with this:

However, it is sold out, has been for as long as it's been out I think, and they're not making them anymore.

u/CheesecakeMilitia · 6 pointsr/Rockband

Any ekit with a midi-out port on the brain will work with the Midi Pro Adapter. The hitch is that many of the more inexpensive ekits have "midi-via-usb" ports that require a program running on a computer to convert the ekit's output to an input the Midi Pro Adapter can accept. If your midi-out port looks like this, you're good.

Once you have an ekit plugged into the MPA, it's as simple as setting the corresponding midi notes for a Rock Band config.

Also, if you're on Xbox One, you need the ridiculously expensive out-of-print legacy wired controller adapter to play with RB4. PS4 doesn't have this issue and can use the PS3 MPA just fine.

u/funkydunkleman · 6 pointsr/Rockband

and for those interested, pay attention to the amazon warehouse deals for this. this is their most popular e-kit, so a lot of them show up as used, with various issues, but mostly cosmetic ones.

the kit I ordered was $240 and listed as 'good' condition. they claimed the kit would have multiple minor blemishes, but outside of the box having a few dents, the kit appeared to be in pristine condition. (but ymmv)

it may seem like a good jump from the roughly $140 you'd pay for the stock kit with cymbals, but you end up getting a fully customizable kit you can setup in whatever way you want, and you have something that is actually build to be beat on.

also remember you'll need to buy the madcatz midi pro adapter (~$25) to get this working, and xbox users need to get the upcoming pdp adapter to get it to work with rb4. ($30) since I saved $60 on the set like I mentioned above, this sort of made the adapters free.

EDIT: amazon has a musical instrument promotion right now. MISAVE10 gets you 10% off this kit. not sure how long it'll last.

u/bookreader52 · 5 pointsr/Rockband

Just to be clear this ( is the PDP adapter. It only works with the MPA and Ions. Madcatz also made a legacy adapter ( that only works with wireless instruments. The RB3 stock kit works with the Madcatz one, not PDP. Just want to make sure you have the right adapter before getting a new kit :)

u/sirjimithy · 5 pointsr/Rockband

This \^. Just to elaborate: Switching console families is essentially starting from scratch. If you exported any of your Xbox Rock Band games to the next game in the series, you can freely download those exports on the Xbox One, along with any DLC you purchased on Xbox 360. On PS4, you'd need to buy any songs you had again. Also, if you have any of your old wireless instruments from Xbox 360, you can use them on Xbox One with the wireless legacy adapter.

u/GL4MURR · 5 pointsr/Rockband

It has to pass through the midi interface before it can pass through usb. For that you need the xbox one legacy adapter and xbox 360 midi adapter. (Xbox one legacy adapters were made and sold in short supply and they probably won't come back. If you don't already have one then you should try playing your kit on rock band 3. You can get custom drum songs there too.)

Then you have to set your kit's pads and cymbals to the correct midi notes (using the drum brain), which is how Rock Band knows what gem you're trying to hit. Those numbers are in the manual for the midi adapter

u/Shotgunnbill · 5 pointsr/ApexConsole

I'm also on PS4 I use the xbox elite controller with brook x one converter. It works awesome with zero lag wired and wireless. I've been really impressed with it.

u/Jonaanarkist · 4 pointsr/xboxone
u/Hellmur · 3 pointsr/xboxone

Hi, these are a few things you can do with the Xbox ONE:

u/zenmn · 3 pointsr/xboxone

Dude, these are the two things you need to get your XP400's working with the Xbox One without the need for using two different headsets:

u/KaijuKing · 3 pointsr/xboxone

You'll need to add this to your controller if its not one of the latest, It allows you to add pretty much any headphone/earbuds with or without a microphone.

u/xKenkz · 3 pointsr/gaming

So in terms of sound, you can attach headphones straight into the aux jack on the controller if you have a newer one, or buy a headphone stereo audio adapter if you have an older controller and the headphones/headset plugs into that and gives you both game sound and voice chat.

Monitor wise, get anything with under 5ms response time and you only need 60hz refresh rate as Xbox can only display a maximum of 60 frames per second (fps) so don't listen to anything trying to suggest you need a 144hz monitor as this is just a waste of money for a console, brands like BenQ, Asus, Samsung all make very nice monitors, I'll link a few below, note they will be UK links to Amazon as that's where I'm from.

Note the bottom one, the Samsung, does have speakers, so for this one you can just plug the HDMI in and use the speakers from the monitor, or turn the volume down to nothing and use headphones if you would prefer.

u/sudobyte · 3 pointsr/Rockband

Never had Rb1 instruments myself to know if they were wired/wireless, but:

If it's wired, then no. Wired 360 instruments are not compatible with XB1

If it's wireless, then yes, but you will need the legacy adapter. (

u/Conejitobrincasalta · 3 pointsr/Rockband

Hey there! I think I can help answer most of these questions. However, if someone else knows more about me or sees I said something that's not true, please feel free to correct me!

Ok so,

  1. Consoles: If you get an xbox one, you'll be able to use the xbox 360 instruments (IF and only IF they are Wireless) to play Rock Band 4. You will need one of these to be able to connect them to the xbox one. Also, If you've ever purchased any sort of song DLC through xbox, most likely you'll be able to transfer it over to RB4.

  1. Song Exports: You mentioned RB1. Unfortunately, the export option for RB1 to RB4 (and RB2, RBLego, RBBeatles and RBBlitz) was only available for 5 years, this option has now ended and it's unavailable. There are some songs from RB1 and 2 that you can purchase on the store as DLC, but they are individual songs. The good news is, you CAN get a used copy of RB3, play it on your xbox 360 (unsure of how much/how long), and then on your XB1 you'll have the option on the store to export 83 songs out of RB3 for $15 which is a very good deal.

  2. Instruments: Like I mentioned before, if you have WIRELESS xbox 360 instruments, you should be able to use them no problem. I myself use a RB1 wireless guitar, a Guitar Hero World Tour wireless guitar, a RB2 wireless drumset, and the RB1 USB microphone (that one connects straight to the XB1 no problem).

In Conclusion: Since you only have xbox 360 wired instruments, I think your best option (regarding getting "up to date") is to get and play RB3 on your xbox 360. People here in this subreddit have said that RB3 is the best out of all the RB's. It also has a keyboard instrument which is not available in any other game. Unfortunately, I got rid of my X360 and so my only option was to get RB4, but you can still use your console and play a good game! Also, most of the DLC out right now also works on RB3 (Someone correct me if I'm mistaken!) ***Look at EDIT***

Also, if you have the xbox 360, you only have to switch disks and you'll have access to way more music games and songs exclusive to the games (RB1, 2, and 3, Guitar hero 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 etc., World Tour, RB Beatles, you get the idea.)

Well, hope that helps! If you have any other questions, let me know!

Edit: DLC info has been explained in this post's reply!
u/OutsideOwl · 3 pointsr/Rockband

Ebay! There is always guitars under $100 and you can get good deals if youre really patient. You can also use 360 guitars (wireless only) with the Madcatz legacy adapter

u/bearmod · 3 pointsr/xboxone

Get an instrument adapter. They've been available since launch.

u/ohsnapitsjf · 3 pointsr/Rockband

I skimmed the post, so I missed this:

> I've been using the RB2 kit with RB3 cymbals for years, really happy with it

Then use it. They went to pretty impressive lengths to make backwards compatibility possible in an era of consoles where both companies have either somewhat ignored or actively tried to prevent the use of last-gen controllers. Unless they're falling apart on you, stick with what you know and like.

If you're on Xbox, you need the Legacy Adapter. If you're on Playstation, you don't need anything but the Bluetooth dongle.

u/fallouthirteen · 3 pointsr/xboxone
u/daubzee · 3 pointsr/Rockband

If Wireless, yes, however you will need this too -

Wired guitars will not work.

Here is a good compatibility chart.

u/elcanadiano · 3 pointsr/Rockband

With respect to Xbox 360 instruments working on the Xbox One, you are thinking of the Mad Catz Legacy Game Adapter. You can get one here.

Rock Band 4 (physical game disc) for the Xbox One previously came with said adapter but the original Rock Band 4 Band in the Box bundle for the Xbox One did not.

Nowadays, it is wise, as you said to buy Rock Band Rivals. That is an expansion to Rock Band 4 which contains a Rivals competitive mode and Rockudrama, a VH1-like storytelling career mode (separate from the existing Tour Mode already in Rock Band 4). You can purchase a digital copy of Rock Band 4 along with the Rivals expansion on the Xbox store (IIRC $60), or you can purchase different Rock Band Rivals bundles, including one with just a guitar and the game (along with the expansion) or one with a microphone, drum set, and the game (along with the expansion).

u/zeroX90 · 3 pointsr/consoledeals

Just a friendly reminder that you'll need an adapter for this to work with the One S.

u/MIKEYisNSFW · 3 pointsr/xboxone

Microsoft made a USB adapter for that reason. So you can still use it just gotta get your hands on the adapter. They were giving them out free to people who had a kinect but i'm not sure it they are still free.

u/MidnightFox · 3 pointsr/xbox

Ancable 3.5mm (1/8") TRS Female to Piggyback RCA Jacks Audio Splitter Cable for Turtle Beach X12 PX21 P11 X11 X3 X31 PX3

If anyone else might be looking for them.

u/Sylnic · 3 pointsr/SSBPM

I personally hook one of these up to my setup for people to use with their headphones. It allows for people to use headphones (with a 1/4" adapter) and change the volume to what you want.

If you want something to personally use on any setup you play on, you can use this in conjunction with any portable amp, like this. This will allow you to control the volume to your liking.

u/Depsilon42 · 3 pointsr/Rockband

It depends if you're playing on the Xbox 360 or the Xbox One.

If you're playing on the Xbox 360, you don't need the receiver.

If you're playing on the Xbox One, you need a different receiver, which is super hard to find, this wired PDP Adatper:

The receiver you linked is for using wireless Xbox 360 instruments on the Xbox One.

u/DanTup · 3 pointsr/Rockband

This is correct. I bought these two from Amazon US:

And this cable from UK:

The MIDI adapter came all sticky like it was covered in glue (despite being packaged as new), which seems common in the reviews which is a bit annoying, but since it came from the US( I'm in the UK) I couldn't be bothered returning it; works perfectly!

u/Petrifriar · 3 pointsr/Rockband
u/S0larSystemWolf · 3 pointsr/xbox

If your Xbox controller has an headphone jack input at the bottom of it, just plug the headset in and make sure it is turned on. If not, you will need an adapter for the bottom of the controller found at and just plug that in, and then the headset. Hope this helps. Have a great day.

u/n3roon · 2 pointsr/xboxone

I'm getting this tomorrow! :)

It will be available in germany as of tomorrow, oct 22nd. Link

u/meemoooo · 2 pointsr/PleX

This tuner? If that one works I'm buying it right now, but otherwise I think I'm okay with waiting like an hour before things are online or finding a stream for sports.

u/kdlt · 2 pointsr/Android

So, there is one for Xbox that's only 15€, while others cost up to 50? What's the difference there?

u/INeIIVIeSIIS · 2 pointsr/xboxone

Vielleicht helfen dir hier die aktuellen Kundenrezensionen bei Amazon? Selber kann ich nichts zu dem Thema sagen, da ich meine Box an einen Receiver angeschlossen habe :/

u/agyrorannew · 2 pointsr/xboxone

Yes. It came out for Europe before the US. It's a tuner for over-the-air TV, so if you use an antenna for your TV, it'll work with that. As mentioned, it allows you to set up a TV Guide, use voice commands to change channels, pause, and rewind live TV.

u/styyle · 2 pointsr/xboxone

The adapter usually comes with xbox one compatible headsets. It can also be purchased separately and used with pretty much and headphone with a 3.5mm jack.

u/AdamThePole · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Want a 3.5mm audio jack on the controller? That's another £20.

u/V1RU5-13 · 2 pointsr/headphones

If you look closely at the plug you'll notice there are 4 separate metal contacts (TRRS) instead of 3 (TRS) see this image

That extra contact is for the microphone, smartphones can utilize this as standard, letting you make hands-free calls, but will need an adapter cable to work on separate headphone and mic jacks on a PC (like this)

As for the xbox, depending on which you have there adapters for those too, this for xbox one controllers and a combo of this and this for an xbox 360 controller

As for whether you'd be better off with separate headphone and mic, absolutely, of course you would be, I can't imagine polaroid branded headphones sounding any good at all, yes they are indeed usable for all your intended applications with the adapters I linked but sound quality will be poor, especially mic quality from the tiny thing built into the cable. If that bothers you in any way, then head over to the sticky thread for advice on what to get instead, otherwise those adapters should work fine, even if they come in at just as much, if not more than the headphones cost themselves.

u/ckrad · 2 pointsr/bose

Do you have the Xbox One already? If you buy it brand new, the controller will have the 3.5mm socket already, but for some reason it doesn't like the QC35's and you have to plug it in really, really slowly (it's best to have some audio playing like a title screen of a game so you can hear the music pop in) but if you want to save that trouble here is the Stereo Adaptor and here is the QC25 Android Cable i purchased, i can assure you that it works. and yes the microphone works too.

u/emdave · 2 pointsr/xboxone

Any Xbox compatible 3.5mm Jack headset can be used with the official Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter. They are about £16 ($20?) on Amazon ( This plugs into the rectangular port on the bottom of the controller, and gives you mute, chat / game balance, and volume up / down buttons. It's very simple to use, and gives you full control over the volume balance for game and chat.

You can also get aftermarket pads from PDP, which have a 3.5mm socket for any Xbox compatible headset with a 3.5mm Jack, and they have a special dedicated button by the right thumb stick, which when double tapped, mutes the mic, and when held down, turns the D-Pad into a volume up / down and chat / game balance control.

This is what I use, and it is so easy to adjust game and chat volume on the fly, I'm actually surprised MS don't do something similar - it's such an intuitive way of doing it. One thing though, is that I don't know whether PDP do a wireless pad with this feature, (I'd have to google it) as the ones I've seen on Amazon are wired (as is mine). They are only about £35 / $40 or less though, and the cable means the controller is light, and never runs out of battery! :D

Edit - Had a look and can't find a wireless version, but this is the one I have, and I am very pleased with it, cable is nice and long, and fits securely. It feels a bit different to a regular controller, some things better, some things worse. The home button is much easier to use, but the triggers are flatter. Buy from Amazon with free delivery and try it?

u/MotionManTV · 2 pointsr/xboxone

I would suggest the hyper X cloud 2. I have had headsets that are cheaper and headsets that are several hundred dollars more (Astro) and I can assure you the sound quality is on par with more expensive headphones, the comfort is the best in gaming headset, the mic is also really good both in sound and in convenience as it's removable and easy to reposition. also the convenience of having the USB sound card in case you ever want to use it on PC is a nice bonus. Even the packaging is top notch lol.

You will want the headset adaptor for the controller though as it is easier to adjust volume settings (although this can be done in the guide)

69.99 Amazon UK

(It also comes in red but I prefer gun metal)

14.99 Amazon UK for the headset adaptor

u/WhiskeyBrawler · 2 pointsr/xboxone

Wow! I though I was the only one that had this issue. My burn and made a pop sound, lucky me my Xbox one survived and the power brick took the shock. Went to game stop and ask for one. They only had refurbished ones and wanted 50$. Might as well get a original one at that price. Went to amazon and couldn’t find a first party one. Then I did I’ll see if I can post a link. This is a original one from Microsoft xbox one original power supply brick just be careful, some reviewers say they got a original one and some say they didn’t. I was lucky and got a original.

u/HMXJosh · 2 pointsr/Rockband

PDP's not making a new wireless adapter, but the Mad Catz one is still available and will continued to be supported by the game.

u/Gr8NonSequitur · 2 pointsr/Rockband

If they are the wireless ones then yes with a 360 Wireless adapter they work fine. If they are IONs or you use a Midi adapter you have to wait for the new Wired adapter from PDP to hit this fall. If you were a day 1 RB adopter and have a Wired RB1 drum set you're shit out of luck (like me!).

u/dansla116 · 2 pointsr/Rockband

Yes, but I want to offer a specific detail about this that angers some people.

You can only be signed into one account per wireless legacy adapter and the wired legacy adapter only supports one controller anyway.

That is important if you have a sibling, significant other, or anyone else who wants to be on a different account at the same time with different Xbox 360 instruments. Only one of you can earn achievements, contribute xp, etc.

u/adrenaline4nash · 2 pointsr/Rockband

If you still have wireless Rock Band 2 instruments, I'd just get the adapter.

u/MCZRich · 2 pointsr/Rockband
u/Sandalman3000 · 2 pointsr/todayilearned

You can also use the wireless adapter if you want to use your old wireless instruments. Wired adapter is sold out and had a limited run.

u/MisterQwert · 2 pointsr/Rockband

If you want to go super (ghetto) cheap for instruments, start searching thrift stores. Any wireless Rock Band or Guitar Hero guitar/drums will work with this adapter, and all USB microphones work. Guitars and mics are fairly common, but drums sets not so much. Compared to the Rivals band-in-a-box you're not saving a ton of money and risking janky used instruments, but it's not a bad option for a second guitar and extra mics you'll need to complete your band.

For music, look for (new) track packs for the Xbox 360. They come with codes to export the songs, and they carry over to the Xbox One. Some are available on Amazon for about $10 for ~20 songs. Used copies are a gamble since the code is likely redeemed, but if you can return them without issue (Gamestop), it may be worth a shot. If you have an Xbox 360, buy Rock Band Blitz (25 songs included for $15) and a (new or used) copy of RB3 (~$20 for the disc, $15 more to export 83 songs).

u/HarryPotterRevisited · 2 pointsr/Rockband

Talking about rock band 4 or older games? And for which console? $500 for a band in a box is a shit load of money for something that was available for 100€ just a few months ago on That was the rock band 4 band kit for xbox one, the playstation ones have been hard to find for a while now.

Anyway, they aren't making anymore of those instruments and no official announcement has been made on the matter. Basically you probably won't find new instruments or band kits anywhere for a price that isn't ridiculous. Even the simple dongle that makes you able to play RB4 with real drums that was $10 on US amazon just 6 months ago goes for 200€ on ebay and I've seen people actually buy them. It doesn't look good for rock band if it goes on like this.

My tip would be, IF you are on the xbox one, to go for the legacy adapter(postage was $10 to finland so pretty affordable) and try to score any used wireless guitar hero or rock band guitar from local marketplaces or second hand stores if they are a thing in your country. I suggest guitar hero guitars and any wireless rock band drum kit, a guitar hero drumkit will work too but I guess its not ideal for the 4 lane notes. This way with a bit of good luck you could get everything you need for under $100 + the older drums are actually better, new ones have a lot issues with double hits.

If you're on ps4, the same thing but you'll have to do a bit of research since I don't know that much about them, but I do know ps3 guitars and drums will work with ps4 too. All i know that ps3 guitars have a terrible input lag, atleast the 2 guitar hero les pauls I own.

Oh, and basically any older rock band or guitar hero usb mic will work on both consoles as well for vocals

I'm a freshman college student so I don't have a car and my town doesn't have a store. Xbox support can get me a new one for $35 but I'd have to pay for the shipping of my old one back and get to a UPS store so I may try not sure if a third party adapter will give me new problems though...

I realize this makes the cost a double whammy, but I've been using this for a couple of months to use my Xbox Elite controller on my PS4.

Using the macros for swiping on the touchpad is the only PITA issue I've had. Most games don't bother with it, so that's a plus.

CtrlDepot Brook X ONE Adapter for Xbox ONE to PS4 Switch Super Converter Controller Wireless Adapter & Rechargeable Battery Remap Turbo

u/wellslogan · 2 pointsr/xboxone

I’ve been using this thing since I have a terrible time with symmetrical sticks. Works wirelessly and since you’re just using one of your Xbox controllers there’s nothing new to get used to. Only downsides are the price (almost as much as a new controller :/ ) and the battery life, but you can charge it while you’re using it and I usually just plug it into a portable power bank. Also installing the damn thing took some tinkering so I’d recommend using a spare xbox controller so you don’t need to unplug and plug in the adapter multiple times. Not sure if the micro usb on the adapter would hold up.

If you’re worried about not having a touch pad there’s a hacky way to mimic it (hold down the View button while using the stick) but honestly it’s never been an issue for me in any of the ps4 games I’ve played. The View button acts like a click of the touchpad and there’s a button on the adapter thing for the Share button.

You can use an XBox One controller (or an Elite one, preferably) on PS4 using a convertor, incidentally. It's really good.

I love the paint job! The creative, think outside of the case, style is awesome; it’s nice to see something besides rgb here honestly.

Anyways you’ve certainly put doing something like it on the forefront of my mind once I get all the parts together for my first build. Although since I’m not that skilled of a painter, I might just stick with a bit more abstract design lol

P.S. They make a wireless USB adapter for using an Xbox One controller w/ a PC

u/Tweenk · 2 pointsr/chromeos

The original Xbox One controller does not support Bluetooth. It uses a custom radio and a Microsoft-only protocol.

Only the Xbox One S and Xbox One X controllers will work with Bluetooth.

You might be able to use this adapter. It supports the Microsoft-only protocol of the original controller, but I wouldn't count on it:

u/AnalogMan · 2 pointsr/xboxone

All Microsoft controllers are NOT bluetooth, this one included. If OP gets this exact controller and wishes to play wirelessly they'll need the special wireless adapter here:

u/ninusc92 · 2 pointsr/xboxone

You have an original Xbox One controller. If you want to use a standard 3.5mm headset you'll need one of these.

There's a dedicated Kinect PC adapter kit. Find it on eBay or Amazon.

Kinect Adapter for Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X and Windows 8/8.1/10 PC, USB 3.0 [Upgrade]

u/kobenator · 1 pointr/xboxone

for a while there was one that was better looking. this is just your standard usb tuner stick for a pc that was slightly modified (if even that) for xbox one.

edit: found the one i was thinkign of

edit 2: this may be the eu one, but there is/was a na one just like this.

u/ThrowingSpoon · 1 pointr/xboxone

It's pretty much the same price on Amazon UK if you don't want to create another account....

u/ppkhoa · 1 pointr/xboxone

When you move to Europe, you will have to use the other version of the tuner with DVB capabilities instead of Hauppauge tuner (the plug is different as well).

Edit: Here's what I'm talking about

I used that one for my parents' XB1 in Vietnam and it worked like a charm with XB1 bought from US, while US XB1 tuner received no signal at all.

u/cpbdogs · 1 pointr/xboxone

I may be TOTALLY wrong here, but, couldn't you just order the official tuner through the UK Amazon page, and still have it work here?

u/HattWard · 1 pointr/xboxone
u/ohgodwhyo · 1 pointr/AndroidTV

Will this thing here work as well then?

After all it's connected via USB as well.

u/DarthPickle · 1 pointr/xboxone

If you're in the UK go for this. cheaper, freesat and free view and designed for full integration.

Optical to RCA Adapter

Chat Adapter

Optical cable

It sounds way more complicated than it is, just connect everything up all fine and you're good, I even think running the x12s through Optical instead of just RCA makes them sound a lot better, but that could just be me.

u/timmykilledyo1 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace
u/DaveFalcon73 · 1 pointr/xboxone

Stereo Headset Adapter plugs into the controller you then plug any headset with a 3.5mm cable into that and get audio wirelessly through your controller.

Other option is if you have a pair of speakers with a 3.5mm or RCA jacks on it to then buy a DAC Digital SPDIF converter. This is USB powered and plugs into your Xbox One SPDIF port, you then plug your speakers that either have a 3.5mm plug or RCA jacks into this and voila you get audio out of your speakers without the need of having to use headphones or a stereo headset adapter into the controller.

For the HDMI to DVI cable try something like this, any one will work doesn't have to be super quality

u/GrowlsMcChips · 1 pointr/xboxone

I don't know what the price is for shipping but you could try the UK Amazon store, its £19.85 on there which is $30.02

Nah soldering is actually my job, I'm just wondering because the adapter got an input for connectors.

This thing right here:

Are you using the headset adapter you buy in the shops????

as this one works fine for changing headsets to work. Mine works fine, if it has a normal end it should be working fine

u/Snookrc · 1 pointr/xboxone

I think this is the only thing available, not OEM but looks like similar build quality and has led indicator

u/Outspan · 1 pointr/Rockband

Got mine off Amazon when it first came out. Here yah go.

Previously purchased Rock Band songs are available to download in Rock Band 4, assuming you're using the same gamertag you used to purchase them. You can use almost any wireless guitar/drum controllers from the 360 era on Rock Band 4 with the Rock Band Legacy Controller Adapter. For more information, check /r/rockband.

And don't expect anything from Activision for Guitar Hero. It just won't happen.

u/WintendoU · 1 pointr/xboxone

Yes they are.

They make adapters to reuse the 360 controllers on the bone.

u/ChubbStuf · 1 pointr/Rockband

Yeah. It's going for $40 right now, cheaper than I thought.

u/Seraphix · 1 pointr/Rockband

What's the difference between what you're looking for and this?

u/tivolk · 1 pointr/Rockband

The most detailed information I've found is from along with (second link for information on the cymbals, wired differently than the rest).

I haven't been able to try doing it yet, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work on a Nitro kit.

After it's wired, I believe, all you'll need to do is get the wireless adapter:

u/sp_aceca_se · 1 pointr/Rockband It definitely looks like they still make them. I own this actually and I haven't had too many problems with it, but I have a Rock Band 3 kit and it can only use one kick pedal, which has been disappointing.

u/BiNiaRiS · 1 pointr/Rockband

I don't think that one is even out yet.

I'm talking about the normal one:

u/Soccer1296 · 1 pointr/Rockband

It sounds like you already have instruments from X360/PS3. If thats the case you don't need new instruments, just a legacy adapter. You can find them on Amazon here:

If you have wired instruments there is a wired legacy adapter being released soon by PDP.

If you don't have any instruments already then band-in-box rivals edition would probably be best. Some people tend to prefer legacy GH guitar controllers and RB drum controllers. Just my opinion :)

u/JakeRabinFM · 1 pointr/Rockband

Amazon states that they're in stock.

I just bought one yesterday and got an email saying that it shipped so if I get a cardboard box with a not saying "no" inside I'll be pissed.

u/Allegiance10 · 1 pointr/Rockband

Did you need the PDP brand adapter? I found this legacy Mad Catz one on Amazon. I’m a PS4 player (for RB4 anyway, so if this isn’t the same thing I apologize).

u/spideyjiri · 1 pointr/Rockband

It's definitely still available, unlike something I'd want, a TAC ps2 to ps3 guitar adapter because the gh2 guitar is really good.

u/Vextin · 1 pointr/Rockband

Drum MIDI out to RB3 PRO-adapter to RB4 Legacy Adapter. Or, alternatively, if you have the Rockband IONs, you only need the Legacy Adapter.

u/iStoleChipsChip · 1 pointr/xboxone

If you're close enough, a Microsoft store should have them and you might get lucky enough to get it swapped for free. There's also this:

u/flobop · 1 pointr/consolerepair

I'm assuming you're on a base? What does the wall outlet look like? Does it look like a standard US outlet?

You definitely blew the fuse in the power supply if its the 110AC only supply and you plugged it in to 240AC. The good new is your console should still be ok if the fuse did its job properly.

Here's a relatively cheap 3rd party 110-240V supply that will work both over there and back home.

Not sure if you will need an adapter plug for the wall outlet, but I'm assuming not since you were able to plug in the US power supply. Hope this helps, and stay safe over there.

Edit: This might be a higher quality power brick Still 110-240 And its a bit cheaper too.

u/Tmortagne24 · 1 pointr/xboxone

I would seriously just check eBay, Craigslist, etc for something like that.

Or here at amazon. XBOX One Power Supply, (Upgraded Version) CBSKY® AC Adapter Power Supply Cord for Xbox One Auto Voltage,Black

u/Abe_W · 1 pointr/fightsticks

If you still have your Marvel Vs Capcom xb360 madcatz stick, you can just get this usb converter for PS4/PC (adds no lag) and keep that stick going.

u/mhunterchump · 1 pointr/xboxone
u/FuriousChef · 1 pointr/xboxone

Xbox One Kinect Adapter. Looks like Amazon is sold out. They had them yesterday.

EDIT: The MS Online Store is out of stock but you might be able to find one in store.

u/YouAreSalty · 1 pointr/xboxone

The adapter is this one:

You only need it if you are using Xbox One S, or plan to get Scorpio.

u/sachel85 · 1 pointr/xboxone

So $4 less than what a new one costs from Amazon? Would need to be in the mid $20 range for me.

u/gutterchrist · 1 pointr/xboxone
u/carbonFibreOptik · 1 pointr/oculus

They removed the proprietary port in favor of more USB ports. Going forward, devices like Kinect apparently won't use simple, keyed ports anymore and will just use standards (even if that means separating power or using two USB ports for instance).

The Kinect will officially have a converter for USB 3.x that also allows people to use it on PC. Pretty nifty, and though less wieldy it's my preferred option as I've bought a Kinect for PC already for development.

The adapter is also available for pre-order

u/NightKingsBitch · 1 pointr/buildapc

Its not terribly uncommon. Half of them say “power supply” on them😂,I’m an electrician and we only refer to them as power supply’s since typically we refer to larger things as “transformers” haha. Here’s an example of it being called a power supply

Not the midi adapter those are still priced appropriately and are still available. I'm talking about the "Wired Legacy Adapter".

u/ninjastarz808 · 1 pointr/drums

To get that to work, you need this and this so it only works on the Xbox One version. You can also use a second bass pedal with the stock kit if you want, though none of the current supported songs have fully charted double bass.

u/captainleo2015 · 1 pointr/Rockband

Someone selling on amazon. tell your friends if they are willing to buy.

u/WookieProdigy · 1 pointr/Multicopter

This one's 220W (12V, 17.9A). Will it do?

u/Blurpy69 · 1 pointr/xbox

Ah, well I got this one here. I'll probably be unplugging it when not in use haha

u/Trollbeard_ · 1 pointr/AstroGaming

They sell adapters for much cheaper than a c40. There's plenty of others and they're not too much hassle

u/WitchTrialz · 1 pointr/reddeadredemption

u/onlylikeHALFthetime · 1 pointr/gaming
u/mckinneymd · 1 pointr/CruciblePlaybook

Hey OP, not for nothing but after doing a quick google search, it looks like you bought a different converter than I have.

While I'm sure their "Super Converter" is good, I would be remiss if I didn't highly recommend you return it and get yourself their "X ONE Adapter".

It's totally wireless and allows you to use your Elite on PS4 and Switch.

I got mine here, for $50:

u/WoodyTheWolf · 1 pointr/FortNiteBR

I’d suggest two options, you could buy the PS4 Onyx Controller or it’s 2018 now so almost anything is now possible like this.. An Xbox to PS4 Controller Adapter .. It’s an Xbox battery pack that allows you to use your Xbox Controller wirelessly on PS4/Switch/PC..

u/kuukiyomazu · 1 pointr/PS4

I've been eyeing one of these Brooks adapters to use with my XB1 Elite controller.

I really prefer using the xb1e over my Vantage, but it would be nice if I didn't have to use a wired adapter with an extra DS4 controller attached.

u/Dirkelz · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Has anyone used the Brooke X One adapter? I have an XBox Elite controller that I want to use it with. I have the pro controller but it already seems like it's on its way out.

Here is the link for anyone who is interested.

u/GaroamTheRoamer · 1 pointr/VRchat

So you're recommending this Kinect and this adapter? I'll see if GameStop has a Kinect for cheaper if so.

Haven't tried connecting to bluetooth with mine didn't know that was a thing but here's the adapter if you need it

I haven't been on Windows 7 in a while, but they never originally supported the Xbox One controller without the Wireless you have the Wireless Adapter?-- Because if you have that you will get the best support on Windows 7. I think eventually Windows 7 did end up getting a update to support the Xbox One controller that would download if you have auto-updates can try this or just get the Wireless Adapter which is easy to setup:

When you connect an Xbox Wireless Controller to your Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 PC with a micro-USB cable, Windows will automatically download and install the drivers for the controller. If Windows is not set to automatically download device software, you can check for updates through Device Manager.

Update drivers through Device Manager

Here’s how to check for updates manually in the Device Manager:

  1. Point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then select Search.
  2. Enter Device Manager in the search box, and then select Device Manager.
Note Windows may ask you for an administrator password or to confirm your choice.
  3. Locate and expand Microsoft Xbox One Controller.
  4. Right-click the expanded Microsoft Xbox One Controller and select Update Driver Software.
  5. Select Search Automatically for Updated Software.

Here is one from Amazon.

> Do I still need it if my remote has an audio jack?

I'm not sure honestly, you could always try and plug in some earbuds before buying the adapter and if it works then there is no need to buy the adapter.

u/fourAMrain · 1 pointr/HeadphoneAdvice

So I noticed the 58x weren't as loud as I wanted them to be when plugged into my elite with the stereo headset adapter so I did some searching and bought this $20 Neotek DAC someone suggested in this thread.

Does anyone have any experience with particular one or have any suggestions for xbox one if this flops?

I don't have a PC yet, just an old macbook pro.

I've heard good things about Micca OriGen G2 and it's next on my list but it's $100 and I rather not spend that much just yet.

u/theweek3nd · 1 pointr/AstroGaming

Yes that works and I do get chat compatibility that way, but I want to use this adapter so I can easily mute myself:

I'm guessing based on the other reply, the astro mixamp tr doesn't support this, so I need to go 1st/2nd gen?

u/CDMartin4286 · 1 pointr/xboxone

I'm very satisfied with this one: Kinect Adapter for Xbox One,Xbox One S and Xbox One X

What do you want to use the Kinect for? All of the real features have been discontinued. :/

u/diflord · 1 pointr/xboxone

Good news, the adapters are being made again and sold a reasonable price of about $25:

Can someone clarify what this is about?

Is it a box so you can get over the air tv channels on your Xbox if you don't have cable?

Edit: found it

Works in Europe only... Bummer

Rock Band 4 - Legacy Game...

Xbox 360 Rock Band 3 Midi...

These are the two items I have. I have a midi in and out cable connected to the pro adapter. No luck on turning it on though.

u/xxrockbandmanxx · 0 pointsr/Rockband

If you're from the US, it seems like the cheapest option right now is to buy the Rock Band 4 Rivals Jaguar Bundle (Found here) and then buy the PDP Wired Legacy Adapter to use your electronic kit (Found here , but it seems to be out of stock currently).

Even if you don't play guitar, the bundle seems to be the cheapest way to buy the game for Xbox One currently, as there doesn't seem to be a standalone disc version of RB4 for Xbox One (closest there is comes with the Wireless Legacy Game Controller)

u/KonstipatedMule · -4 pointsr/Rockband

You need an adapter. I bought mine for $30 and use my electric set.
