The first large-scale American museum exhibition to survey the colourful historical past of graffiti and road artwork actions internationally. Highlighting the connection between graffiti and road artwork and different vibrant subcultures, akin to people who developed round Hip Hop in the Bronx and skateboarding in Southern California, Art in the Streets explores parallel actions in dance and music.
The exhibition is curated by MoCA Director Jeffrey Deitch, working with a curatorial advisory committee that features Roger Gastman and Aaron Rose.
