Copper Pendant Light by Tom Dixon

The Copper Shade Pendant Light is designed by Tom Dixon and made by Tom Dixon. A light made using copper, a material more commonly associated with solar cells and microwave radiation. The Copper Shade is created by exploding a thin layer of pure metal onto the internal surface of a polycarbonate globe. The result is a highly reflective surface with a warm metallic glow. The Copper Shade highlights the dynamic and flexible properties of using copper. Pure copper is used as a vacuum metallized film, only microns thick, on the interior of each sphere, creating an enriched and softened light source. The Copper Shade brings a sculptural sophistication to any interior, either alone or grouped as a dramatic chandelier cluster.
