This unique chair is a true combination of form and function. Not only is it a striking sculptural piece it is also a lounge chair that can turn to face any direction you desire. Made completely out of steel this is the first modern interactive art piece of its kind. The 8′ outer ring is stationary for the stability of the piece while the two inner rings are free to turn a full 360 degrees for the lucky loungers viewing pleasure.
Designer Kate Brown conceived of these innovative chairs during her time at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture Taliesin West. The idea was inspired by the concept of “moon gates”, Japanese style circular garden passageways, as the arc gives the circular chair a comfortable embracing hammock feel. After building the circular Etazin chair she was compelled to make a square version as the next incarnation of the design.
The clean lines and stunning angles of the square Etazin create wonderful architectural perspectives and with its bench seating can hold 4 people. The quality and craftsmanship of these stunning interactive sculptures is unsurpassed.
Note: Product is assembled upon delivery, however customer will need to install, bolt down, for stabilization.
