Mia Melon is a women’s fashion label that designs modern weatherproof outerwear. Thanks to Kickstarter, our backers and retail partners, we have emerged as a niche performance fashion outerwear brand. Along with our popularity has grown a demand for plus sizing. Limited in the past by production minimums for extended sizing we were unable to deliver this option. Our success will allow us to offer three new sizes expertly fit with 1X, 2X and 3X added to STELLA, AVA, JENNA, LORI and WHITNEY in addition to the xs, small, medium, large and XL that we normally offer. So what makes us so different? Is it the on-trend fashion designs or is it high technology to keep you warm and dry in all weather conditions? The answer is BOTH. It all starts out with our custom developed technical streetwear fabrics.
Our coats are lined with cozy micro fleece fabric to keep you warm. The middle layer is our special weatherproof membrane keeping the wind a water out, but still allowing your body to breath.
Finally the first protection against mother nature is a fabric treatment on the outside of the fabric called Durable Water Repellency (DWR). This makes the water bead off the garment.
