When asked to participate in a 2010 lighting exhibition at Gallery Klaus Engelhorn in Vienna, Mischer’Traxler decided to focus on lightbulb technology rather than fashioning a new lamp form. And the award-winning, limited-edition Relumine series was born. Each Relumine uses two discarded lamps, which are disassembled, sanded, freshly lacquered, and fitted with a shared fluorescent tube. By introducing the new, eco-friendly light source, the look and feel of the old lamps completely changes. Now these two lamps together require less energy than each one did in its previous life.Relumine lamps use T5 fluorescent tubes with 21 or 28 watts. This generation of fluorescent tubes is available in a few light colors and just requires an electronic ballast and no additional starter. It’s wired for use in the EU.
