The inspiration for this release is based around a specific smiley face design, a graphic that was originally used by the German government in the 1970s as part of a country-wide fitness initiative before British DJ Danny Rampling adopted the symbol at the beginning of London’s “Acid House” movement in the 1980s. The grinning yellow face went on to become one of the biggest signifying emblems of an era that was crucial to modern-day London culture, and now size? is drawing inspiration both from the logo and the “Acid House” era for their collaborative release.
