Hahaha but it’s a requirement if you have a backpack like that! +10 POC greeting skills of he also has a condor hat with space for a flag patch.
In all seriousness though unless you’re dead set on that backpack and it’s comfortable to you I’d go to a black civilian type. I’ve been through that awkward phase where I first joined ROTC and had a super moto backpack. Took me a whole year to realize that a lot of those backpacks are too much for regular school use. Been rocking a Northface backpack because it’s way more comfortable. Highly recommend a brand like that since it’s just more comfortable.
Doesn’t mean there’s no use for them in ROTC because I’ve used something like this for AEF LLABs. However, I would recommend you prioritize what you’ll use for school first. All the molle and velcro in the world won’t help when it’s just a big awkward bag. To each his own though.

Get this! I wore it my entire 100 year, and I plan to wear it through my 200 year as well. Me and a ton of other cadets bought them for our candidate class, and now it seems like half of our squadron has one. Super cheap, works great, and has survived mud, water, and impacts.
These socks are excellent ABU socks that I have been wearing. Super comfy and breathable which is something you'll want at FT.

This is the current year for the book I bought. A bit more expensive than I remember, but I thought it helped. Use this plus maybe some Google/YouTube for more visual info on the pilot and nav portions (if that's something you even care to study for).

For sure, I've had these ones here, flag patches and have seen others with morale patches. Cadre normally aren't too strict on it, as long as its appropriate.
