First and foremost, every ASU student gets a free OEM license of Windows 10 Pro and Office, so don't factor this into the price. I'm going to assume OP either used his ASU license or pirated it... If he didn't, his loss.

Windows 10 licenses are dirt cheap and shouldn't be factored into the cost of a computer, you can buy licenses from bulk OEM keys on ebay for < $10 anyway:

Someone looking to play games should really stay away from this build with a ~$700 budget. Any old intel computer with even a modest graphics card like a 1050ti will far outperform this build.

I advise anyone with this budget to stay away from APU gaming, it really doesn't perform too well given the price.
Check out these benchmarks:

You can get this and drop $220 into a 1050ti and have something far nicer with little effort and less cost.
Even if it doesn't have an SSD, you can purchase a 120gb SSD for $45 these days.

The motherboard has an NVME port, so you could take this as an opportunity to purchase an even faster drive:

The GPU market is slowly getting calmer, should be able to get a 1060 for $250 if/when prices return to normal.

_____

If you insist on getting everything new check out this build for ~$60 more:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Mh6GfH

It includes the z370 chipset, support for overclocking, and a 240gb ssd you can actually fit some games on it

It should outperform his build in every reasonable way, (cpu performance, storage, and of course gpu performance)

I recommend this book:

https://www.amazon.com/Java-Beginners-Guide-Herbert-Schildt/dp/9339213033/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1497923204&sr=1-2&keywords=java+a+beginner%27s+guide

Go through it, do all of the examples. You will have a huge head start. It's tempting to do Python or an "easy" dynamic programming language, but you'll be better served by learning a strongly typed language (don't worry about what that means right now).

I’m currently taking CSE 310 with Richa, and this is the book we use: Intro to Algorithms. I recommend really practicing asymptotic analysis (i.e. big-O, big-theta, big-omega) for algorithms, as well as reviewing and understanding your basic sorting algorithms. These topics are covered in the first few weeks, and they hit fast. Other than that, we’ve just been learning about data structures (e.g. binary trees, red-black trees, hash tables, etc.) and their pseudocode functions which are in the book. Don’t focus so much on the specifics of the code, but rather how they work conceptually. Good luck!

The clicker itself is pointless. It's the account that costs money regardless. Assuming you only have a clicker...people can buy those for 15$ or less.

Also for anyone looking... bookstore is considerably more expensive on these

Ostensibly it's worth 20$ brand new, since that's the price of them as far as I can tell.

Why not ask Dr. Santos?

If you are interested in kinematics I would look-up Dr. Davidson and ask him if he has suggestions. He is now retired but used to teach a Robotics Kinematics class (MAE). He also wrote this and has been working with kinematics and robotics for decades.

I had the same soc class a year ago and you can't find it online because she wrote her own textbook. Unfortunately you do need the textbook because the quizzes come straight out of the text so your best bet is renting it used at the ASU bookstore.

The other class you can get the Kindle (digital version) for like $54 if that's in your price range. Or you can rent it on Amazon (physical copy) for like $20. It's a version older but I can't imagine it's super different

>I don't see how its a bad deal locally.. They are literally brand new...

Amazon is also local with what... 3 fulfillment centers in Phoenix? I can have them here Sunday for less than what you're asking. And ya know...actually new instead of "like new".

>I am not charging extra

The new one is 15% cheaper than your ask. So that's just wrong.

> I would probably be open to negotiating.

I hope those home cooked meals are on the table then because you don't seem like the smiley type.

>So unless you wanna buy the books, or talk about the LSAT like the other people in the comments, I don't need your input

Oh man, who made you king of Reddit? I'm not here discussing the geopolitical intricacies of China's South Sea incursions and island building, I'm just pointing out it's kinda silly to expect full price. Don't like it? Tough shit.
