Buying one without reviews? That's a scary thought. Unfortunately there's a lot that can go wrong stitching 360° videos and even the higher end camera (Check out the reviews on the Nikon Key mission 360). They haven't even got it right.

For $115 you'll not get real 4k, but usually cameras in this price range can do decent 2k. Chances are you'll at least get an OK camera in single direction mode. But hey don't expect too much in terms of actual resolution & stitching errors in 360 mode. It might be good though! And if it's not, at least Amazon has a good return policy.

I'd like to see some samples once you get it! And please write your honest opinion to help other shoppers! :)

Edit: I just took a closer look and this camera only has one lens so it's not a real 360° cam and cannot record behind it. So yeah, not real 360 footage.

I've seen videos regarding it, should be great value. :) Probably never gonna use the 4k. Gonna use it for the stabilization and image quality at higher fps. :) Do you know if this one will fit? Amazon link

I got a 50-in-1 accessory kit for like 40$ CAD on Amazon. I would go with that. High quality for the most part, comes in a great hard travel case that holds all the pieces. I'm really happy with it

Here is the kit (Amazon Canada)

Git2Pro or Soocoo C30 have very good gyro stabilization. Add a good video microsd like a Lexar Highendurance (popular in /r/roadcam) and it'll be under budget.

There are a handful of other things the SE has over the Pro though that I like... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MZTFQSV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_WupSCbVT7QH45

SD card size up to 128 vs 64, what appears to be more options for slow/fast motion, a 3rd battery included (not a feature but still nice). Just seems to be better overall...but I'm a noob at all this so when you start talking about the internals like that, I have nothing to compare to.

You can use these adapters to convert from tripod mount to GoPro mount. I bought these and they work pretty well.

Under $100? Why not try Trawo by apeman. I got an a80 and I thought it was quite enough for me, even though it's not a true 4K. I heard its trawo is cheaper now. It supports electronic image stabilization (EIS) in 4k. I don't how the stabilization works. Maybe you can learn more here: https://www.amazon.com/APEMAN-Underwater-Waterproof-Ultra-Wide-Stabilization/dp/B07DN6VQRC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1542247512&sr=8-1&keywords=trawo

Picked up the AKASO at the start of this week. Played with it for 2 days and then returned it for the SooCoo c30. I wasn't a fan of the AKASO recording in only .mov as well as it's lack of image stabilization. It may have just been a bad camera but the quality of the recordings really left something to be desired. The latch on the case of the C30 goes with an added switch to lock it down instead of the usual leverage. It makes me question the durability a little but we shall see I suppose. I've read a lot of great things about the GIT2, but I thought I'd suggest something other than the AKASO. Also, the wifi connection apps for both the AKASO and the C30 are hit or miss and crash depending on what you try to do.

I bought a battery charger and 2 batteries off Amazon for ~$13. I think If I recall correctly the batteries are the same form factor as the SJ4000.

Campark Rechargeable Battery and USB Dual Battery Charger for Campark Cube Action Camera SJ4000 SJ5000 SJ6000 SJ7000, 2pcs 1050mAh battery included https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G6UUQ6U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nbhOyb38P5TC3

I get about an hour of recording 2K (what I use it for 90% of the time). It takes a generic type of battery that almost every action cam takes and you can get spares for next to nothing. When I'm just taking photos I've gotten 2+ hours over multiple days. I've used the time lapse mode and never had issues. It pre-compiles a video at whatever resolution you have set, so there's no editing that you have to do.

I've grabbed one of these and a microphone adapter :https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01HGE5MS2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But when I plug it in the screen turns off. is that normal?
