I bought this cat litter box and it's the best one ever! I wish I had found it years ago! It's built good, not a cheapo.

use food grade diatomaceous earth everywhere. Don't stop using the exterminators.

Yes, it's pet safe and yes, it works.

here you go

A water fountain that circulates the water might help so that she can see the water moving. It seems like that would address why she is drawn to it after she sees it refilled.

I've had a good experience with this one.

Wow, this dog's got books and T-shirts and everything dedicated to him now. o.o

Elephants are sentient, and one of the most intelligent creatures on Earth.

It’s possible — even probable — that all living creatures are sentient. According to Darwin, it’s a matter of degree. Whether we can know depends on our ability to study/comprehend them.

The Aug. 2017 issue of National Geographic covers the topic of animal sentience in detail.

My cat loves it and doesn’t scratch anything else

u/djs758 · 2 pointsr/AnimalsBeingJerks

Have you tried one of these?

We have two in the house. One in the living room behind a pair of recliners. Cat loves these.

It's probably the Corn cob stuff. that stuff is 100% flushable and safe for septic. Wouldn't wanna dump a ton in there but bits here and there should be fine.

There are fancier ones but I like this one. The cat can’t force it to rotate and neither can the dogs. The dogs tried but all they did was leave nail marks. The dogs are 55 lbs each so it was a real attempt.

u/mjxii · 5 pointsr/AnimalsBeingJerks

My cat did the same thing. we got her this and it seems to help.

I've seen ones where the door only pulls out like an inch and you have to stick a finger in to press a little tab to open it further. Doesn't require handles or anything. I couldn't tell you what they're called, though.

Edit: Actually, think I found them. https://www.amazon.com/Child-Safety-Cabinet-Locks-Latches/dp/B07DG122GV/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=baby%2Bproof%2Bcabinet%2Blocks&qid=1557629047&s=gateway&sr=8-7&th=1

u/Fat_Head_Carl · 3 pointsr/AnimalsBeingJerks

Had the same issue.

try the SSSCAT... Its hilarious to witness, and don't hurt the cat.

The cats never even think about going near the cable box anymore....but scares the bejesus out of me whenever I need to access the back of the TV

They're pretty sturdy boards. Very heavy. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003WGGWQA?cache=ac906b1b18dfe0a371732a246143f392&pi=SY200_QL40&qid=1412972418&sr=8-1#ref=mp_s_a_1_1

On my phone, don't know how to format that. But that's what I bought. It actually arrived in four days. Crazy.

u/ostensiblyjenn · 1 pointr/AnimalsBeingJerks

I put wet foot in my automatic feeder. I set it up to feed the cats three times a night (10pm, 4am, 6am). The canned food shouldn't go bad within the 7-8 hours it sits out.

I don't know what you don't understand. I answered both of those things, not my problem if you don't understand.

Here's some help

Soseki Natsume - I am a Cat

Considered a Japanese classic.

u/PhatPhingerz · 1 pointr/AnimalsBeingJerks

Probably never read this book.

There was a section about how someone had their eye ripped open by a swooping magpie.

u/Pattoe89 · 1 pointr/AnimalsBeingJerks

"common sense", what's this, is it a book or something? Where do I buy it from?

Edit: Found it on Amazon seems to have a lot of stuff about independence from Britain in it but I'll try it out.

This is just the beginning...read (or listen to) Children of Ruin by Adrian Tchaikovsky

I’ve found that if you don’t want a cat on a surface they DGAF and will still sit there when you’re not around to shoo them away, but if they don’t want to sit there they won’t. Unpleasant things like foil, tape, and bubble wrap sometimes work, sometimes they don’t. A ScatMat can help with the more stubborn cases. It gives off a static buzz that deters pets from sitting on it.

u/st1tchy · 0 pointsr/AnimalsBeingJerks

So don't let them do that.

Cat scratches door - open door immediately and quickly and spash it with water from the sink. Alternatively, get a scat mat.

Dog barks/scratches - Tell them "No bark" or whatever you use to get them to not bark.

Or those stupid little toy fishes they are the bane of my existence. Hurt like hell when you step on them.

My nephew leaves it at my house, plays for five minutes, then here comes kitty to relocate those suckers and bat them around every hour on the hour.

ETA: they also have the mini version ...
