I recently bought this mount. It just arrived today. Isn't that a funny coincidence? Keep in mind that this mount comes with a cable that will only work with Android devices. The mount itself works with Apple products just fine, and the controller can just be connected via Bluetooth.

I haven't used the mount a ton yet, but it's pretty good so far. Locking the controller into it takes some work, but once you have it locked in, everything feels like it stays together pretty tightly.

If you have a thick case for your phone, so do I. My phone in the case doesn't fit in the mount perfectly, but the mount still holds my phone well. Just don't turn the mount upside-down and shake it or anything, the phone isn't locked in place.

Lastly, remember that mounting a phone to your controller makes it feel pretty top-heavy. You probably expected that, but it doesn't hurt to make sure. You get used to it just fine.

I'm enjoying my mount so far, so I hope you find one you like! They're great for playing certain games, especially platformers!

Edit: I think this mount might be the same mount u/Zardozerr suggested, just with a different name like they mentioned.

I put a steel fender washer on the back of my iPad. This is super magnetic so it holds strong if you use a magnetic mount. I put a Nite Ize Steelie tablet magnet on this lap stand and then the iPad doesn’t fall over. It works great in the recliner or in bed.

Ram Mounts also make great mounting solutions but it’s more of a build your own setup. I like that because it allows for versatility and I use them all over.

I just got this after reading some reviews about the nyko breaking:

I can't yet say if it will be durable. It's a bit hard to get on, but feels secure. You wouldn't want to be routinely taking it on and off. There are a bunch of others under other names that probably come out of the same factory in China. Pretty cheap plastic but it works for what it is. I've looked around and there doesn't seem to be one from a good brand that's actually high quality. I'd actually want one to add a bit of counterweight, since the phone makes the whole contraption feel top-heavy.

Just got this one today and I’m very satisfied, it feel like weak plastic but once you set it up it works great with the iPhone 11.

Totally, CFW ftw! So when I use the controller, I've got a Switch stand (the Hori one: https://www.amazon.com/Compact-Playstand-Nintendo-Switch-Officially-Licensed/dp/B01N9RTMWS?th=1) and just finished Ys VIII yesterday with the controller. For some of the "button mashy" ARPG's, I'm paranoid about wear and tear on my Vita buttons, so I just use the DS4 controller when I'm on the couch.

On the go, I just take the Vita though, although it's mostly a Visual Novel / JRPG device for me. :)

I wouldn't suggest a holder that has a built-in controller. You are talking about a MFi controller then and none of them have the number of buttons, joysticks as buttons, etc. as an Xbox or PS4 controller would have. Not all games will take advantage of the extra features of those controllers over MFi, but as soon as one game you play does you'll be kicking yourself.

So then your search is for a clamp of some sort to hold your phone onto the Xbox or PS4 controller. No experience with that but a quick search reveals they are out there, such as https://www.amazon.com/Controller-Phone-Holder-iPhone-Samsung-Huawei/dp/B07BF2H3CP

Check this out. It doesn't require you clip it onto a table.
