I would definitely use a screen protector. Not everyone likes cases, but I do and here's my favorites. I think the S3 is the same size as the S2, so they should fit the S3 I hope.

Skinomi screen protector from amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H7WV1QU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_bScCzb9QMKFDX

Great case, but it's bulky. It has a raised edge that MIGHT protect the screen a little, but I don't trust it so I still use a screen protector.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N0QYUR4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_USlEzbKN82J81

Had this one for a few months and they're great. They snap on easily and are tight and secure. Made of hard plastic type material.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B014HA8RG2/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1501106014&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=fintie+apple+watch+case&dpPl=1&dpID=51S3Iq%2BGZIL&ref=plSrch

I wanted one that was gray to match my space gray watch better. They are really form fitting and thin and barely stick out from the watch at all. Made of rubbery TPU material.

I grabbed one for 20 bucks off Amazon. We'll see what happens when it gets here, but from what I could research it is among the best of the near-clones.

Link I think we can safely assume the scratch resistance won't be anywhere near the same league, but I'll be happy with "somewhat decent" for the price.

Edit: I didn't get this one, but it looks like it might be as good or better from a "lookalike" perspective. I just liked the black of the other band.

Edit 2: Lol downvotes for helping people out. Never change r/Apple. XD

u/miroben · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

I have a similar one to your 2nd example. The Spigen Tough Armor. It includes a built-in screen protector. It's working well so far.

I also considered your first example, but was concerned that it might scratch the watch after sliding it on/off repeatedly.

I don't really like the look of screen protectors as I can usually see the edges and, IMO, they take away from the look of the device and screen quality. I also don't want to have my watch in a case full time. However, I wanted something to protect my watch when working in the yard, on the car, etc. This case was the best I could find to protect both the screen and the watch. It's fairly easy to put on/take off. It looks good enough that I could leave it on for a quick trip in to town if I didn't want to bother taking it off right away.

I could not find many options that included the built in screen protection. I wish I could find something comparable that would not require me to remove the band to install/uninstall .
I would also like to have one that was easy to install/uninstall and covered the digital crown to keep out dust when mowing, etc.

I just received the MOKO stainless link band in Space Grey -

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JP6FU78/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I chose this one because it seemed that most other sellers/makers offer a black option but not a grey option. It's not a perfect match, but I don't really notice it unless I look really close. Might prefer black now that I try it out.

Here are a couple photos of it on my arm. It's immediately clear that the build is NOT the same as the Apple version (at $23 vs $550 I would expect as much) and that's mostly visible in the different clasp and the larger gaps betwen links. Particularly at the end links the gap is significant and a bit distracting. It's a little tight on my wrist in this photo, I may insert one more link and see if that relaxes the gaps a little bit.

I also notice there are 3 "ripples" on the lugs where they attach to the watch. Artifacts of the lug mechanism construction, I'm sure.

In any case, I think it's plenty "solid" in its build, but it's not perfect. The Apple version is a much more complicated and tightly machined piece of work to make such a flawless and clean look, but if you just want something that looks and feels similar, to dress up your watch a bit, it's probably perfectly fine.

http://imgur.com/u2qAKH1

EDIT: I'm looking on Amazon and noticing that there appear to be two different MOKO versions of this band, mine has a much simpler clasp that doesn't look at all like the Apple clasp, but there is another one that's $2 more which has a clasp design much closer to Apple's. I'd definitely lean toward that one if you're inclined to get one of these.

u/Cat_Marshal · 2 pointsr/AppleWatch

For Milanese, I got this and this (obviously not both for my watch). I got this link band, my only complaint is it is a little heavy, but I have seen lighter ones I would consider. I got this leather one and love it. I wanted a learther band without the contrasting thread so this one was perfect. Like any leather band, it is definitely a bit deformed around where it buckles together, but you can only see it when not wearing it and it looks great the rest of the time. Next leather band I would probably look for a padded one though.

u/ThaCarterVI · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

I have this one in Space Gray on my 1st Gen 38 mm and absolutely love it. Was a little skeptical when I first bought it just cause the brand seemed a bit sketchy but the quality is awesome and it looks amazing! Have had it for over a year now.
https://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Stainless-Replacement-Bracelet-Butterfly/dp/B00JP6FU78/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1483145644&sr=8-10&keywords=Moko+Apple+Watch

u/JoeCat3 · 2 pointsr/AppleWatch

I'm interested in the same, and have been looking at many options for the past weeks. I finally just ordered the Luvvitt adapters that are pretty well recommended (http://amzn.com/B015GMZG82), and a Hadley-Roma 24mm leather strap that I like the looks of and has good feedback: http://amzn.com/B002EEP5WS.

u/Unclassified1 · 7 pointsr/AppleWatch

I would stay away from imitation Nike bands, personally. There's been a few reports on here where black paint is already starting to peel (after just weeks!) leaving the whole band looking like bright neon.

I have had my JETech milanese loop band for a few months and it's holding up so far.

The Moko link band comes highly recommended here.

For leather bands, I would stick with a manufacturer like Monowear or Clockwork Synergy (at least at Amazon) instead of a chinese knock-off of "Hermes". You're extremely likely to get more for your money and a better band in almost every aspect.

u/xBOHICAx · 4 pointsr/AppleWatch

Try giving this a shot. Sounds like it should work for what you need. I have one and it works great for fitness tracking, should help you close those rings.

u/dskatter · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

Edit: Looks like Amazon doesn't actually sell the Spigen stand right now. Here it is on Spigen's own website: http://www.spigen.com/products/copy-of-apple-watch-nightstand-s350 But it is definitely NOT worth twenty bucks.

You might be better going with the Moko stand: http://amzn.com/B010LFIXMA

------
I use this as my watchstand at night. http://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Charging-Premium-Compatible-Nightstand/dp/B0109I9W24

Other than buying some bands, there's not really much in the way of accessories needed! Cases just look clunky, most (not all, but most) screen protectors look tacky.

I'm a fan of Clockwork Synergy's bands, and Apple's own sport bands. I have a Space Black stainless steel model, and it looks sharp with the black, white and red sport bands.

Enjoy your new watch!

u/KnottyOwl · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

I'm a nurse and want to wear mine at work. I just got my Apple Watch Sport and I'm worried about scratching it by bumping it on someone's bed rail or something, so I ordered a screen protector from Amazon and also some bumpers for the face to change up the color and add some protection from scuffs. I also got apple care. I may be being too cautious, but I rarely spend $350 on an accessory so you're damn right I'm gonna baby it!

Edit: This is the screen protector I ordered. I haven't received it yet but it offers edge to edge protection and seemed to have mostly positive reviews.

These are the bumpers I got. I thought they'd add a little extra protection and plus it'll be fun to switch up the colors and match them with different bands.

u/mattdev · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

I have two. The Luvvitt adapter that everyone here loves, and this Wearlizer adapter. I definitely prefer the Wearlizer, but I wish it were a better match for the SGS.

u/otherben · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

These are the adapters I got:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YBVA112
The LUVVITT adapters also come pretty well recommended:
http://www.amazon.com/LUVVITT-Stainless-Adapter-Connector-Comparable/dp/B011H9GGY6
You can pair that those adapters just about any 24mm watch band you like. If you're looking for leather, start here and you have a good 70 pages of options:

u/bagelche · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

I've gone for the small and inexpensive as well with the Moko stand and really like it. I appreciate the lack of visible branding. The cable does make a strong bend to fit the exit channel.

u/oldpeopl · 3 pointsr/AppleWatch

I don’t use a case but this screen protector has treated me well so far ArmorSuit Apple Watch Series 4 Screen Protector (44mm)(2 Pack) MilitaryShield Full Coverage Screen Protector Compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 (44mm) - HD Clear Anti-Bubble https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HCNHYGW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_yPA4BbZE6V533

u/paidrebooter · 2 pointsr/AppleWatch

I have the Supcase and it is similar. It is my daily wearer and the favorite of 5 inexpensive bands I bought along with the watch when I got it in January. It is nice, comfortable and reminds me of all my G-Shocks. Highly recommended.

I have a case and screen protector on mine. I try to keep mine looking fancy so I can sell them the next year and buy the new one with very little out of pocket. I bought both my case and screen protector on Amazon. I'm happy with both. I don't LOVE the case, but I have whacked this thing on just about everything already, because I bought the big one, despite my small wrists. I am hoping that more stylish cases come out. I also keep AppleCare on my 4, where I didn't keep it on my 3. Something about that extra $70 really pushed me over the edge.

Mine will usually be ok for a while until i eventually swing my arm and whack something with my watch. Usually on a door or door jamb, the metal pieces on the outer edges has got me several times.

So now im always sporting a screen protector but have never had sensitivity issues at all. Works really well actually. Currently using this particular protector which was a little bit of a pain to learn how to put it on but once i figured it out it’s been probably the best protector I’ve had over the years.

u/anwei40 · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

I've seen the LUVVITT ones, but many reviews note these as slightly darker than AWS. Know of any options that are a (near-) perfect match?

u/mrwcs · 3 pointsr/AppleWatch

You probably don't need a case unless you know you will be really rough on the watch. But, here’s one that I like to use occasionally.

u/IAmAfter · 4 pointsr/AppleWatch

LEO here. I bought a series 1 about a month ago and haven't had any issues. I sometimes bang my watch going into people's houses or any tight spots and it's still holding strong. A bunch of the guys in my command have Apple watches as well. Some without any protection and I haven't heard any complaints. I decided to use a Spigen case on mine. I bought this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UVSOWBY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_3iCSyb5ATT7K0

I picked up these Armorsuit shields on Amazon and they stay on really well.

Looks pretty much the same as the one you linked. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MTL6BRE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_B4XgAb4SA9SJD

These are not perfect. They get dirty and scratched easily. And one of my two makes the screen a little less responsive in one corner. But they are easy to remove, affordable, and have a minimal impact on the size/shape of the watch.

u/Built_4_Sin · 3 pointsr/AppleWatch

I've got the 'Skinomi Apple Watch Series 4 Screen Protector', both on my 44mm and my Wife's 40mm series 4. Work like a champ. I also have the Spigen Rugged Armor case on order, it should be delivered here in a few days. That along with apple care, should all but a car wreck, protect it!

u/RogueStrider_06 · 5 pointsr/AppleWatch

Hey bro! I'm also a firefighter, and I use the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro. It basically turns the Apple Watch into a G-Shock. I absolutely love it! It's been to hell and back with me, no holds barred, and my Series 2 is still flawless. No concern at all when I use it.
The product page says "compatible with 2015 model Apple Watch", but I spoke to the manufacturer before I tried putting it on my Series 2, and their engineers had just spoken with Apple about the dimensions. It's good to go. I won't use any other case for my watch.

Jisoncasse Leather Band. Found it via Watchaware's "Best Non-Apple watch bands" site.

u/mcorybennett · 2 pointsr/AppleWatch

I bought one of these Oittm Metal Link Bracelet bands that I use as a dressier option. With aluminum, you should be good. I have a stainless steel series 3 and if I’m not careful, the connector for the band will mark the watch case. Because the band is more rigid than others I own and to avoid marking up the watch case, you should slide both sides in at the same time. Works pretty well and it’s a dressier band, if the metal links is your style.

u/jerpers2002 · 2 pointsr/AppleWatch

Carterjett sells extra-large NATO-style bands on Amazon, and they're pretty cheap. I bought a leather band from them that could have fit on a gorilla. The leather was ... not great quality, but the hardware was solid, so I'd stick with the nylon bands.

I've been using the Spigen dock since I got my S1 and it's been great. It's dirt cheap and enables the desk clock/nightstand mode. Soft touch, rubberized feel and takes up very little space on my nightstand. Both include a little bumper to adjust for the 38mm, as they're setup for the 42mm out of the box. Cheap, simple and they get the job done.
