Make Love! the Bruce Campbell Way is pretty good as well.
Wow! I love the level of detail! I used to be proud of my special edition dvd but this is a totally different level of awesome.

I agree, during christmas I wrote an open letter and send to the production (it's also on reddit) with the same points you wrote here in this post. And by the way... I never watched the end of Chuck (created by DiGregorio) because of lack of interests.
The Collector's Edition has the most in terms of behind the scenes stuff like the original ending/deleted scenes, on-set footage and even has the Television Version (cut used for TV slots).
They showed the page of the necronomicon where it shows Ash being prophesied as the 'Hero from the Sky' in AOD in Season 1 and Ep.1 of Season 2, which is the page where Ash is a silhouette holding up his boomstick in front of a castle/crowd. They confirmed their gonna reference AOD in Season 2 officially in S2 so there's a lot more to come.
Also they kinda weened in the aspects/story elements of AOD with Ash getting a new robotic hand and separating into two having to fight his duplicate Evil Ash.
They just released a new ultimate edition of AOD on Blu Ray you should check out if you haven't got a copy yet, it includes a 4k scan on disc 3 and the directors/television cuts which have extra footage and the original ending.
