OP, from what I understood, that's the so called 'blade guard' I guess - for example, Wahl's is always a small red plastic piece.

I haven't seen Oster selling them separately. Not sure if you still need info on that, but here are two options:

For blades only, you can use something like this blade organizer. It should be alright with Oster blades too, despite having Wahl written over it. Actually, a few reviews mention people use it with Oster blades indeed.

For a case that will cover the clipper, you can think about getting something like this organizer. I've had a friend who used it for his Fast Feed and accessories and it was alright!

I'm sure you already know this, but it heats up like hell due to its strong universal motor. You might need to use a cooling spray and will definitely have to clean it after each use or so.

Also, if you ever decide to branch out with the 76 blades, here's a guide on all the blades with their # as per Oster standards and the length of their cut in inches/mm.

I've never used the color pros so I'm not sure. I think some "home" clippers have the blades set up in a way that they can't be zero gapped for safety reasons but I have no way of knowing of that one is that way.

The Baldings are great, but kind of unnecessary as well. They're typically used by barbers for balding so that they don't have to use their liners, which can save some time and doesn't dull the liners' blades as fast.

If money is a factor, the Andis Combo is a good deal. The outliner will get hot after 25 or 30 minutes as well, but you shouldn't need them for that long for balding a fade.

Edit: If you like your Wahl guards, you can get this set for cheaper also. Designers are more than enough for home use, and Peanuts are small, but they're a decent liner that you can zero gap for balding.

For a price break:

  • $67 - The Wahl Designer and Peanut set
  • $81 - Andis combo set
  • $120 - Wahl cordless designers and Baldings

I've heard great things about these my coworker had them and he loved them.

I use the T edgers. They're a great hearty little trimmer. I had issues with zero gapping. They became too sharp, but that could be because I'm still learning to to make them 100% perfect.

MAGIC Monsieur Charles Razor, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000PD79GA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_DQ2hAb5GKGY9P -------
This has been my favorite, works great with feather razors for full face shaves, and with cheap half blades for the back of the neck.
Although I had to buy a second one with how loose the pivot point got. Even has a handy set screw for the slide. Really like it for the money and awesome weight to the "blade".

All of my barbers and myself included use these. We’re a fully booked shop and they do the job for us. They’re the only cordless clippers I like, and I actually like them more than any corded clippers.

Wahl Cordless Clippers

Being cordless is a huge advantage for home haircuts as well.

What insoles are you using? I started using SuperFeet (https://www.amazon.com/Superfeet-GREEN-Full-Length-Insole/dp/B002T0072U?th=1&psc=1) last year after battling plantar fasciitis for a bit (I'm flat-footed), and these worked WONDERS. My pain is 100% gone. My back feels a bit better too.

On top of that, use Oofos (https://www.amazon.com/OOFOS-OOAHH-Unisex-Sandal-MASSAGER/dp/B0155I7GT4/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1511798338&sr=1-2-spons&nodeID=7141123011&psd=1&keywords=oofos&psc=1) around your house. They're ugly as sin, but incredibly comfortable and provide support. Combine the two, barely walk around without arch support, and you'll be in good shape.

Sorry for the link gore.

Damn that’s some cradle robbing shit going on there!! No wonder so many girls are reincarnated with daddy issues. Anyways.

Weighted mid fade. Tools were without motors. Hand driven clippers so blending from clippers to shears was shoddy, that’s why heavy weight lines were probably popular. these clippers were most likely used, manual hand clippers.

You can still obtain that look. Google shorem haircuts and you’ll be pleasantly surprised :) then take those photos to your nearest hipster barbershop and pray you get a legit barber that doesn’t just shop the look.

The Wahl Clippers run on a magnetic motor. This means they have a high cutting speed, but low torque (power). This means you can easily stop the moving blade while the clipper is running by simply squeezing the blades with your fingers. This is the reason some people experience hair getting snagged on the clipper. Also, the high cutting speed means there's more friction between the blade, which can cause your clipper to get hot pretty fast.

The Fast Feeds on the other hand run on a pivot motor. This has a low cutting speed, but high torque (power). The low cutting speed means less friction, and that in turn means it won't get hot. Also, the high torque means you can use this clipper on ANY hair type. It can mow down through curly, thick, wavy hair without a problem.

I definitely love to make informed purchases, so I'd want ya to do the same.

Here are a couple reviews on the Fast Feeds to show you how barbers view them.

Andis pro slimline cordless t-blade trimmer, 1 Count, Silver https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01499YQP2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_GbjMBb0V8YT8W

This one? Yeah it looks sick but a little more expensive. Do you think it’s worth paying extra for this over the other two?

For self haircutting? Just get some Wahl designers, should be more than enough clipper for you. The set on Amazon includes Wahl peanut trimmers and a set of guards for 70 bucks

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00AX942EI/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1540105925&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=wahl+designer&psc=1

They won't fit for 2 reasons:

1: The Oster blades (I tested with a 000) are a touch too long for the Wahl plastic guards and won't physically fit.

2: Even if the Oster blade could fit in the Wahl plastic guard, the tab on the Wahl guard would prevent you from attaching the blade to the 76 / 97.

If you can afford to buy the individual blades, do it. The smoothness of the cut is incredible. If you're going to buy the Oster guards, get the spring loaded guards. All I had to was find a screw for the top of the lid, if you have a graveyard of stuff it should be an easy find, I used one of the screws that holds the blade on the slim pro li.

hey bro I'm just looking this up now, so the Wahl detailers you are referring to is an additional clipper? ( is this what you're referring to? ---> https://www.amazon.com/Wahl-Professional-Detailer-8081-Instructions/dp/B000H7O5M0 )

I wouldn't be able to do line ups with the Wahl magic clips?

let me know bro
